Spuffy S11 *Spoilers*

I like Faith's reaction to sitting out the fight. I wonder if the "big pile of ash" comment is a throw back to something blue? Willow's been kick ass this whole year. Spike's bandaged hands remind me of the time they got chopped off in S5 AtS.

Well I'm now officially much much happier about S7 than ever now I have been thoroughly spoiled - that came out in predictive text as spiked - for the comics. And Willow isn't hanging around with Kennedy? For that alone I applaud!

But seriously feeling really content that at long last we have that heartfelt declaration.

On another point - not sure if to raise this here but just testing the waters. Would there be any interest in a redemption thread? Under the character heading. Suppose the only way to find out is to start it and ahem I should really now catch up on my reading, shouldn't I. Possible title: Can we rest now? Or: I know I'm a monster but...

So Buffy really is attracted only to wicked energy. Good to have it confirmed.

If you want to just discuss it with Spuffy fans, then I'd put the thread on The Back Steps. If you don't mind anyone commenting, then yes put it under the character. Can we rest now is a great title either way

Good idea - but I'd be careful where you put it. 🙁 Title doesn't matter to me - I can't stay on topic! 🙂
 
Yes it's a shame but if you put any threads that are pro-Spike under the character heading, you are going to get some hate. Spike is not a popular guy amongst a lot of the board members 🙁 This really is a very Bangel-y board

Me too! I also felt there was some significance to them in the penultimate frame. In fact - I thought there was a lot of hands (not more than the prerequisite number, which would be silly - just obvious hands) 🙂 There's also a lot of overlap between Buffy and Spike that I like. All very reminiscent of S7. Hands are @Stoney 's "thing".

On the topic of "having a thing" @Priceless (or anyone) - thoughts please on the frame with the empty spiral stair case. (I tried to have a Third Man moment with it escaped me. Lang's M doesn't work any better and I've run out of references). 🙁

The Dragon - did it just leave of its own volition or was it called back? It seemed a little distracted (I say this as an expert on dragon psychology). I like the two different looks with the hair.
 
That's lovely everyone - thank you for the alerts I hadn't realised I might be pelted with fruits and various meats outside this forum!!!! Also if anyone has a title they would like better hey let's be having it! The only reason I suggested it under the character is because some of it might have involved speculation as to how Spike might have been redeemed outside his relationship with Buffy and/or without a soul. A sort of philosophical discussion, if you like.

I often don't leave the safety of the back steps for Spike discussions. No point letting myself get riled up at the haters.

This will probably end up merged as I intended to say it earlier. I don't mind personally being bashed outside the Spuffy love zone. In fact a bit of hatred might help with persepective. But I feel protective towards this character - - I also feel this way about the Doctor in Dr Who. Also I'm a coward who prefers life to be good. So do I act with integrity or take the easy way? Ah decisions decisions!


Also maybe it sounds a bit pretentious- as if I had delusions of adequacy.

I have lots of 'things' when it comes to Spike but yeah, it was another tick in the hands symbolism box. 😛

'Food' or general sustenance for living is another of my quirks and they overlapped this season plenty. Buffy's care for Spike in the safe zone in feeding him then had her helping him and pressing him to ask for help when he needed to feed with his bandaged hands. His hands were later then bandaged with his fingers freed/separate and straight away he is fetching her the food at the BBQ. As she tells him she loves him they use their hand to connect as much as their eyes/mouths. Eye contact is huge and reinforced lovingly by both of them putting their hands to the other's face. All used for communication and connection. So lots of care, devotion, love and commitment in it all.

I've got to wonder if they will continue down this route of exploring them as individuals and allowing their relationship to develop as well, rather than go for predictable relationship pressures/angst. They probably won't but I like to hope that it is at least a possibility to avoid cliched jealousies/misunderstandings leading to a break up. She finally said it, so I'm slightly in 'assume crash positions' mode now. 🙁
