Stranger Things

Kind of. Kind of a thriller/adventure/drama. Kind of difficult to describe. Been described as Stephen King meets Steven Spielberg. Has a little bit of an X-Files feel to it as well. Set in the 80s for added nostalgia.

It's so good. After I rewatch some Buffy with some people here, I'm going to watch the last two episodes!

You know I was actually going to watch a Youtube video of a Monkey peeing against a wall next. But I might see if I have time to fit it in after that😀

Looks like 80s movie nostalgia for those who weren't around in the 80s. Hope it has actual depth and storytelling, other than just relying on the 80s thing.
 
The 80s is just the setting and really doesn't play that big a part other than music & tech.
 
I had heard of this but then forgot all about it so thanks for the reminder, I am going to give it a try.
 
My friend was just telling me how good this was. Will give it a go!🙂
 
I really enjoyed it.

It do have the usual problem of getting less exciting the more we get to see, and learn, about the mystery though.
But overall it was really great.

Think it might be ok for an 11 year old, but I guess that depends on the parent.
It's a really good cast of characters, so maybe they can make it work.
Myself was kind of hoping for more of a limited/anthology type deal, though.
 
Watched the first episode last night and thought it made a very promising start. The characters were pretty solid, thought it was nicely directed, and visually engaging. I liked the nods to 80s Sci-Fi also. So far so good.
 
Just watched the second episode and like it even more than the first. Its pretty atmospheric and creepy in places, but also very charming with well written characters. Love the use of the Clash in this episode. Never have I seen their music be so charming and so sinister all in a 55 minute spell😉
 
Think this might make for a good series to do a 1st/rewatch chat with. If anyone's ever up for it?
 
Think I would be up for it for sure. Unless of course I hate the next six episodes?😉 But sure that won't happen😛
