Summer Watching

lol I think the opposite. I think the first and second season are awesome and then Supernatural kind of falls flat for me and turns well, silly and over-dramatic in the bad sense.

I know what you mean. I was obsessive through seasons 1 and 2, really wasn't fond of the third, and had a hard time following through with 4 and 5. If they just pulled it back a little bit, so it wasn't always, "OMG, DEAN IS SAD. DEAN IS CRYING. OMG SAM IS SAD. SAM IS CRYING. SAM AND DEAN ARE CRYING."

I feel like the later seasons have moments of brilliance though. Castiel is definitely one of them, and I also really like Chuck and his fans. And their spoof episodes are always entertaining.

Netflix will save your life, guys! I recommend it for everyone! They have a nice little FREE 30 day trial and then it's totally cheap after that.

Makes Buffy/Angel rewatches a lot easier 😉

I started watching Fringe from season 2 on and I'm glad that they rerun the first season on German television over the summer. That's the only show I'm watching over the summer that's on TV. DVD-wise I still need to finish JAG season 7 and I got The Boinic Woman (the original show) ahead of me (season 1 and 2) 🙂

True Blood is Awesome, really really good! It's like a grown up version of the other Vampire shows/movies

Its not a patch on Buffy or Angel though in my opinion.

But they're so different I don't really think you can compare BtVs and Ats to True Blood. The only thing they have in common really is vampires but even there it's extremely different takes on vamps.

I prefer our beloved Buffy of course but True Blood is a decent watch (a better read though in my oppinion)

Last summer was the summer I first watched all of BtVS and Angel. I'm currently looking for a new show to watch over the summer.
The shows I've watched in full are:
BtVS, Angel (favourites)
Lost(good story, didn't like the characters, ending ruined it)
Dollhouse (Liked the overall storyline, but there wasn't enough of it, too many one-shots)
Firefly(loved it)

I don't care much about the genre of the show, I'm mainly just looking for something with likeable characters, and really good character development, like in Buffy and Angel. Also want series/season wide story arcs, so not really interested in any of those medical shows. Any suggestions for me? 🙂

Alias! :D
^ You ought to give Veronica Mars a shot. You may like it.

Can't you record the episodes on TNT?

That's a good idea. I forget about recording. X]

Man, I would use Netflix for everything, but I have an extremely slow Internet connection. I'm behind on the times.

A nice show with some decent over all arcs, some decent 'plot of the week' episodes and a likable cast would be 'Burn Notice' on USA. Also Mad Men is like my favorite thing that ever happened to TV ever but you have to sort of 'buy in' on that show.

Also it starts Christina Hendricks (Saffron from Firefly) and also Connor from Angel.

Started watching Burn Notice, really like it so far, I always like stuff with narrators
I will be following season 3 of True Blood.

But I would also want to see something new (for me) on DVD. Haven't been able decide what to watch though.
Want a good show that is finished so I can watch it all. Must come up with something soon. Any suggestions?

Alias! :p Seriously I cannot recommend this show enough!
Shows that are finished you say? Alias is a good option. You also have 24, Veronica Mars and Monk. Monk is special but if it's for you you might end up loving it. The wire, Oz and The sopranos are probably a good watch as well even if I haven't watched them myself. Battlestar Galactica is worth checking out and don't mistake it for your typical sci-fi show. Torchwood is interesting but it helps (but not necessary) to watch Doctor Who (the new series) first and that isn't over yet. But season 5 finish tonight so there's plenty to watch anyway. And if you haven't watched all of The west wing that's of course a given. 😉 If you like the writing of Sorkin, Sports night can be worth checking out.

24 hours ago I never thought that I was going to say this but I'm going to watch all of Desperate housewives. How things can change. I've watched a bit in the past but never got hooked. Just seemed to be women arguing with each other, yelling at kids or having affairs with the pool boy/gardener. Being a fan of John Barrowman I decided to watch the episodes he was in (= the last of season 6) and got way more hooked. And since some people I mostly think have good taste is telling me how good it is I've now decided to give it a real chance.

My summer watching plans may have changed. I finally bit the bullet (after like two years) and bought Alias. It should be here sometime next week so my summer now = me and Michael Vaughn! <3

Alias is Awesome!
I've really gotten into Smallville, I've always been meaning to watch it, but the early seasons were kinda boring, so took me ages to get through, took me like 2 years to watch season 1 and half of season 2, and it the last few weeks I've gotten to Season 5, whoop!

Alias is amazing. I will always recommend it to people. I've only watched it once and that, to me, is criminal! :p
