I actually saw this coming as soon as I realized Cas was after Purgatory. I'm not sure if this means that Cas is actually God, and Chuck is now non-existent, or he's just proclaiming himself as God and next season will involve Sam and Dean getting Chuck back where he belongs. I think I like that second option better, as I ADORE Chuck and I would love to see him back.
However, if it's the former, then I imagine, as we saw in the final minutes, that the power will go to Cas's head and he'll go on some sort of mission to get everyone in the world to bow down to him, and smiting everyone who doesn't, and it'll be up to the boys to get him back on track.
I'm glad Crowley is still alive. I LOVE Mark Sheppard, the guy's hilarious, and I'd love to see him back next year making the boys's lives hell again, lol.
I loved Sam's part in this finale, and I actually like the fact that Sam and Dean spent most of the episode apart. I really loved Sam's journey and how he accepted that, to be the person he was, he had to accept everything he went through, and he fought to get his memories back, even the ones from the cage, because he didn't want to leave Dean alone in the world. It was really nice to see Sam trying to desperately to get back to Dean, like he was finally making up for walking away from him in S4. I really liked that, because at the end of the day, that's always what this show is going to be about, Sam and Dean standing side by side. Or hand in hand if you believe Jared and Jensen, lol.
And speaking of Dean, how much did he kill me in ep #21?
I've never made a secret of the fact that I don't like Lisa very much. I don't know why, and I just don't think she fits with Dean very well. But, OH MY GOD, that scene in the hospital just broke my heart. When Ben said 'Who are you?' I just burst into tears. Dean loves Lisa, that much is obvious, whether I like her or not, and for him to give her up like that just makes me so sad. At the convention last week, Cindy Sampson was talking around that scene where Lisa gets possessed, trying not to give away any spoilers, but the way she was talking, I think I just assumed that Lisa would die. But this was so, so much worse.
I don't know if I want to see Lisa back next season, this was Dean's way of giving them the normal life that he could never provide, and for them to come back and ruin all of that, I don't think I'd be very happy.
If Cas is going to be the bad guy next season, I think it'll be a very different show - just like it's a very different show since he came into it. I did read that Misha isn't going to be a series regular next year, which I'm actually happy about, as much as I love Misha. It upset me at the time that he was made a regular over Bobby, who has been there since S1, and I'd like to see him as a regular before anyone else gets brought in.
