Supernatural Thread: Volume 2 (Spoilers in this thread)

What? Could you give an example how the show killed it's integrity? And some examples of the double entendres? Thanks

Dean to Cas: Blow me!

Dean to Cas: The last time someone looked at me like that I had sex.

And then that thing that Zachariah said to Adam about how co-dependent Sam and Dean are on each other.

So you know you can't trust them, right? You know Sam and Dean Winchester are psychotically, irrationally, erotically codependent on each other, right?

Why do I think it kills the show's integrity? Because it shows that the writers are willing to make the characters bend to the will of the fans rather then the dictates of the story.

I think the only way it could kill the shows integrity is if Dean/Cas became canon just to please fans or if Wincest became canon *cringe*. Although I do hate the way they killed of certain characters just because fans didn't like them.

I don't know Kean those comments to me were from a guy who was mad and being held like a hostage. Hey I've said "blow me" to some of my closest friends when I've been mad and vice-versa. But the erotic codependent comment was a little weird and might be a touch weird.
But I don't really get into this whole Wincest thing, actually I find it sorta sick and twisted. I know it was a bit of a hot-topic button with the producers and writers but I thought they addressed that at the beginning of the year with Chuck and the fan-girl. And the SN rpg episode.
But like they say each fan has an opinion and a point so that's what BB is for isn't it...exchanging opinions and individual interpretations.

R.I.P Trickster/Gabriel 🙁 I always loved you bb. It's wrong how much I love Lucifer though, even if he did kill Gabriel, he is just so fabulous~.

What I'm curious about is why is Gabriel the only one that knows how to put Lucifer back in his box? Also how many trinkets and favours are going to be cashed in to pull this one off? That anti christ kid just might come in handy as well as Kali.

Yeah I was kinda shocked that no-one else (Cas, Bobbie etc) mooted the idea of "Hey, why can't we just send Satan back to hell ?" The Pestilence ep is gonna be a full on gross-out no doubt, anybody know who got cast as Death ?

anybody know who got cast as Death ?
I'm not sure who is playing him but there are pictures of him here and also he is at the end of this clip for like 10 seconds, the Death clip starts at around :50 until 1:05. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=93_a3HLAG4s"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=93_a3HLAG4s[/ame]

He is veryyyyy creepy looking. I think that's Death anyway, people are saying it's him.

Really? Who did they kill off because of the fans?
Bela, apparently.

Well we really didn't see Bela die. Last we saw she was in a room protected by goofer dust keeping the hell hounds at bay. My theory is when Bela handed the colt to Crowley the deal with the crossroads demon might have been lifted. I am still holding out that she is still alive and has a whole warchest of goodies to help the guys in season 6.

I think the anti christ kid is going to help take out death. I can't see anyway the crew can take him out.

^Yeah but why would the hellhounds still be out to get her if the deal was off? I hope she didn't die too but I don't think she could have stayed in that hotel room forever, she'd have starved or whatever else eventually and with the hellhounds waiting outside for her if she left the room, there'd be no way she could have survived.

Ah I think you're right, I completely forgot about the anti christ kid. He'll definitely be back I think because there'd be no reason to just use him for that one episode.

^ well Razz on another forum I was for most of last season wanting to know where the colt was and why wasn't it a priority to get it back? So needless to say I was suffering major lunch bag letdown over the story of how the colt was found. So who knows maybe Crowley waited for the last minute then made another deal with Bela. If he gave up the colt he would want something else in return. I know his original intention was for the guys to put a slug between Lucifer's peepers but hey he's a demon and demons are greedy. lol

****SPOILERS*****

pieceofgosa agrees: It's an old, old song but that version is about as good as I've heard

Yeah, I assumed as much. Have you any idea what the origins are? To me it sounds Creole? I can see it beeing lamented during the procession of a New Orleans funeral, in my head.

I first heard it in Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?, the Coen brothers movie where it's performed by Ralph Stanley. This is a good version of his:

As for it's origins, I've tried to find out about for a while & I haven't pinned it down. I've heard it described as an "Appalachian Death Dirge" which would put it on the east coast of the USA, specifically I've heard it's from West Virginia. In terms of when, it seems it's older that the USA itself. The earliest I've heard it comes from is 17th century, but I can't catergorically confirm that.

Thanks!
Like the thread says, this post contains spoilers. Do not read if you haven't watched Swan Song yet.

That was a fairly predictable season finale. I loved how the third main character (the Impala) played such a pivotal role, nice touch. I'm left with a few questions, is Chuck God? Is that what the disappearing act was all about? Is that why he told Dean where to go? Is that actually Sam at the end? I really don't know where they're going to go with S6, I have a feeling it might get a bit messy. I doubt we've seen the last of Michael, he's going to be pissed with his dad.

Stupid ending to a terrible finale. Why bring back Lisa, I don't understand why they tried to make us think Dean was like ~in love~ with her.
This was the cheesiest episode of Supernatural ever.

Chuck was not God. He was a prophet that saw the future and he was writing the stories about Dean and Sam Winchester's lives. And when a prophet finishes the story his reward is heaven so poof off he goes.
You could also look at it this way; Kripke (the series creator) had a 5 year story arc and it was his way of saying "I told my story so good-bye everyone and anything that happens next season is not on me".
I think Sam might be an angel. Hey Michael did his job and stopped Lucifer so God couldn't leave him in the pit and Sam can be a vessel for Michael as well because it's all in the blood and Adam was already dead.
Lisa coming back was sort of Deans reward. When he bitched to Cas in the car that he got his wings back and is going to be the new sheriff in heaven all Dean got was his brother in a hole. Then Cas reminded him what he wanted all along peace and freedom. Peace as in no hell topside and freedom for mankind to continue making choices for themselves. So Dean decided a while back he wanted a normal life and Sam said find Lisa see if she will take his dumb ass back then enjoy BBQ's, football games and apple pie.
I loved how they used the car as a metaphor to tie the 5 seasons together. Afterall the whole show revolved around two brothers zig zagging across the country in a classic muscle car killing demons. All that time in the car made their bond as brothers that much more stronger that they sacrificed themselves for the other without hesitation.
I thought it was a good season finale. It left a lot of holes for fans to disect and bitch about and it left the answer fans wanted up to themselves to figure out.

Yeah, I'm down with that. That would be much better than the cheesiness of Chuck being God.
^I hope you're right about Chuck, I've seen a lot of people saying he is God but Dean's amulet is supposed to glow or whatever in God's presence and it obviously didn't around Chuck.

Thanks Razz that is an extremely valid point about Deans necklace!
Chuck has always been a prophet in the show and besides why would God want a phone call from a phone sex line?
I think what's making everyone think he was God is because he vanished at the end. To me he vanished because the prophet finished his story so he went to heaven. It was also Kripke's way of saying I've done my story so bye!

They needed, and should have, paid whatever loot they had to pay and had a quick cameo by Jeffrey Dean Anderson as God... it would have only been fitting.. and it would have kicked major ass.

Jeffery Dean Morgan kicked ass? Yeah
As God? No
There was better episodes for a cameo by JDM. Like when the boys were in heaven that would have been a good spot for a cameo as Joshua when he had that chat with the boys.
Or when the trickster was doing the tv show jumping. JDM in that one as the ghost patient in the hospital would have been freakn' hilarious.
But in the finale I think it would have taken from what they stayed away from for the whole season...not showing God.
Although there was one statement Dean made to Cas which I think might make a good show with JDM for next season as God. Dean told Cas when you talk to God let him know he's next. That would be cool if Dean confronted God trying to put a spell on him like Lucifer had a spell on Death. And God was JDM...that would be as you said "a major kick ass".
