I finally watched the final tribals, though I haven't yet watched the reunion. I'll just post my notes I was writing as I watched along, and hope that won't bore anyone who's still reading!
Advantage to Eva again. She doesn't seem to realize that it's not a good sign to have never used your advantages. It means no one considers you a threat. I'm getting tired of Eva's arrogance about winning advantages and expectations that other players will comfort and look after her. At some point, it seems manipulative.
Kamilla killed that challenge, coming from behind to win! I roll my eyes a bit at the "positive-thinking" philosophy, but if it works for her, great. I can't believe she took Eva along, but I guess she was the best option between Joe and her. Kamilla wouldn't take Kyle, and probably didn't want to be alone with Mitch trying to strategize.
I can't believe they passed up voting out Joe again! And, would old Civa still be voting as a group at this point, as Kamilla thinks?
I just noticed Kyle's scar on his forehead. Did that happen on Survivor? A souvenir, I guess!
I definitely thought Kyle should take Eva and make Joe and Kamilla make fire. I thought Eva was the least likely to get votes, but I found I was wrong. I am glad that the jury only gave Joe one vote. He's extremely likeable, but had zero strategy. In this buddy season, I wasn't sure if that would matter, and I'm relieved that it did.
Eva has a tantrum, and of course, Joe runs to her rescue. And the thing is, Eva was never going to win, whether she made fire or not! I felt very sure of this for several episodes.
Wow, David actually owns a shirt with sleeves! That was the biggest jury shocker. And here's Eva, gloating again about how great she is at fire, and interrupting Kyle's talking time to point out that she has a fabulous career.
🙄 Mitch clearly wanted Kamilla to win. Me too! I've been rooting for her for a while. But if she couldn't win, I'm happy Kyle did.
I'm amazed Eva got more votes than Joe. She had her own challenges, I know, but previously there hasn't been much sympathy in Survivor juries for issues players bring with them, like an artificial leg or a need for the million dollars. I've been hard on Eva in these notes, but I do think she did pretty well, considering her autism. However, I also think she was the all-time champion of playing the sympathy card. She even got Jeff to cry!
And that's another season in the bag. I forgot there still has to be a 49 before there can be 50! I agree with
@Cohen that I would not like to have a fire-making challenge at the end.
I think you are right. Mitch must have a great social game, and does seem super likeable. Thats the only reason to not have him at finale 3. Perhaps the vibe on the beach did make Eva and Joe seem like a safer bet than it did on screen.
Mitch was heartbreaking at the end. He was such a nice guy, it's just that no one chose him for a buddy in a buddy game (after his one ally left early). Everyone was saying that a lot of people at the end were nice, and yet they didn't include Mitch in their alliance, so that's a count against them.
