Damn...I just posted the following post on the previous thread just as Jacklyn was closing it for going over a 100. My apologies to Jacklyn. I'll go back and try to delete my post there.
Anywhooo... Here's the post. It should update everything that was said on the last thread.

So, I book on this morning, and I see you guys have convinced Xx the slayer line passed at least through Buffy and Faith, but definitely Buffy in Season 7.
We must be on to something if the support for the arguement can even convince it's toughest critics.
I'd like to organize the timeline of the facts surrounding the Slayer-line question.
* Pre-Season 6: Both Marti Noxon and Joss Whedon, as well as the characters of BTVS tell us, or accept as fact, the slayer-line passes through Faith. The Marti Noxon quote posted by Xx is something I saw well before Season 6, and even before Joss said it, just before the start of Season 6.
After Season 6 though, I defy anyone to produce a quote from anyone in ME or the BTVS characters themselves saying the line passes through Faith.
* Post Season 5. At the beginning of Season 6 Buffy is brought back from the dead. We are told over and over again by assorted characters throughout the series, there are repurcussions to this kind of spell.
At the end of Season 6 in the episode Villains, Buffy dies for a third time. More precisely she flatlines.
I could be wrong about this, but as I understand it, there are 2 kinds of death: heart death, and brain death. With brain death the body begins to decompose, and cannot be brought back through medical means.
Here's a theory that hasn't been proposed yet. The switch in the slayer-line could have happened as a result of the spell after Buffy's "Brain-death", at the end of S-5, but The First didn't understand the repurcussions, until her "Heart-death" in Villains.
* Beljoxa's Eye: In an effort to discover why The First Evil has appeared in Sunnydale, Giles and Anya seek out the all-seeing, all-knowing, Beljoxa's Eye. Apparently there is a disruption in the "tforces surrounding the chosen line".
"GILES
If The First has been around for all time, then why hasn't it attempted something like this before? Why now?
BELJOXA'S EYE
The opportunity has only recently presented itself.
GILES
Opportunity?
BELJOXA'S EYE
The mystical forces surrounding the chosen line have become irrevocably altered, become unstable, vulnerable.
ANYA
Something The First did?
BELJOXA'S EYE
The First Evil did not cause the disruption, only seized upon it to extinguish the lives of the chosen forever.
GILES
Then what has caused the disruption? What"”what is responsible for letting this happen?
BELJOXA'S EYE
The slayer."
* Upon leaving the Eye's dimension, Anya and Giles discuss what they've learned:
"ANYA
(limping) Yeah, I just"”I don't understand how Buffy's death mucked up the whole slayer mojo. You know, it's not like she hasn't died before.
GILES
It's not because she died. The Beljoxa's Eye was quite clear about that in its enigmatic way. It's because she lives. Again. Buffy's not responsible for that.
ANYA
Oh. Oh. Willow and me and Xander and Tara. We're the ones who brought Buffy back. We're"”we're the reason The First is here, the reason those girls were murdered. No, it's our fault. The would would've been better off if Buffy had just stayed dead. (walks off)
* Acceptance of Buffy as Chosen One: After the discussion between Anya and Giles, there appears to be a general agreement among the characters that the line now passes, at least through Buffy. I counted at least 6 characters, and have posted on this thread where they said it.
The last character to speak of Buffy's death was The First Evil. Beljoxa's eye tells us The First is here as a result of a disruption in the Chosen line. One therefore has to believe The First knows about such stuff. Joss Whedon wrote the episode where this happens. Joss is the last word on the Buffyverse. It is the last episode of the Season and the Series, so it is unlikely Joss is saying something tricky to fool the viewers with later.
* The Scythe: Willow uses the Magic Energy within the Scythe to activate the slayer potential of at least hundreds of girls around the world. From this we know, there can be multiple slayers, and multiple slayer activations. We do not know how the slayer-line will procedd from this point."
