The Classics

Being too a film student, I feel like I've seen every damn (and utterly boring) silent movie ever made. Which is almost true. Oldest movies I've seen, if you can count these as a movies, are the experiments of Muybridge, Reynaud, and Edison. Oldest "real" movie must be "Workers Leaving the Factory" by the Lumiére brothers.

I have studied film for a while too, so I've seen all the oldest movies (like the Lumiére ones) of course.

Oldest movie that I really really liked though was Citizen Kane. I was in a bad mood when we saw this movie, and I figured it'd be boring, but god that movie could have been made yesterday as well as then, I loved it.

Hm, more modern classics..? Well imo Tarantino, and he's my big hero..

I think the oldest movie I saw was "The Emigrant" with Charlie Chaplin.
I prefer those "old movies" to all the new ones. Now, I'm watching all the Hitchcocks I can. I like how the actors play in those movies. They were all great!
As for the movies I like: Singing in the Rain, The Great Dictator, Rear Window and others which title I can't remember in English...

the oldest ones I've seen were all the big MGM musicals along the lines of Singing in the Rain... I love to watch old musicals... well new ones too, but the old ones take me back to my childhood and my grandma singing along to all the songs *teary*
The oldest movies I own are White Christmas and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers... I'm a sucker for nostalgia!

oh and I watched those biblical dramas too.. the Bible, the Ten Commandmends, Ben Hur... yeah.
and Snow White and all the other old Disneys oc.

I've seen a ton of old black and white movies. I like "Nosferatu" okay, the one from the 20s. I love "Arsenic and Old Lace", which is probably my favorite old b&w movie although I have no idea how old it is.
