i've just found out this minute that lisa left eye lopez of girl band Tlc has died in a car smash, oh my god i don't belive it! everyone dying this year, sobs. please write what you think as i would like to know... this chillingly reminds me of the aaliyah crash last year <shudders>

TLC Star Lopes Killed In Crash
Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes, a member of the US all-girl band TLC, has been killed in a car crash in Honduras, central America.The R & B group enjoyed chart success with songs including No Scrubs and Waterfalls.

Lopes becomes the second female R & B singer to die tragically in less tham a year, following the death last August of Aaliyah in a plane crash.

Rapper Lopes, 30, made headlines in 1994 when she was arrested for burning down the house of then-boyfriend, former Atlanta Falcons football player Andre Rison.

Drinking problem

She was fined and sentenced to five years' probation and then entered rehab to deal with a drinking problem.

TLC's most recent album was FanMail, released in 1999.

It topped the US pop album charts for five weeks and won a Grammy for best R & B album.

The other members of the group were Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas and Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins.

a bit of a shock.might have to play "no scrubs" tonight.seems to be a very deathly year 2002.what with (cricketer)ben hollioake,presenter from liquid news.all fairly young people.reminds you of your own mortality
 
It does apear 2002 is the year for untimly deaths in all worps of life. And the sad dimise of a lot of people does make you realise how any one can die at any time it really makes you feel humble.

R.I.P Lisa Lopez she will be missed.
 
Aww i have just heard about this, its a big shock as i enjoyed her music.

Rest in Peace Lisa, you will not be forgotten!🙂
 
I've never been a huge TLC fan, but I was shocked and upest when I heard about this🙁 . Lisa was a very talented artist, and it's going to be a huge loss to the industry, and of course to her family, friends and fans...my heart goes out to them.

Like others have said, so many 'celebrity' deaths in so few months makes you realise you're only human, and you don't live forever. Death can come at anytime, anyplace, to anyone. I don't know about anyone else, but my eyes have been opened and I'm going to be letting everyone I love know that I love them, just in case.

Lisa was a very talented performer, and it's a shame that she was just about to launch her own solo career as NINA ( New identity non applicable) She will be sorely missed
 
I heard this on the news briefly but i did'nt catch who it was. It is certainly happening a lot recently.
 
My sis called me about 6:50 and told me there was a Tribute To Lisa on MTV... I was kinda shocked to hear the news since I'm forever playing 'Never Be The Same Again' and I've only recently picked up my copy of TLC - Fanmail again... 🙁 and she was only starting off on a solo career too... yes she'd done colaborations with others but this was her solo career and I'm just wondering how long it takes for the Record Company to cash in on the tragedy.... and bring out unreleased tracks on an album which she must have been working on. It'd be fine if a nice percentage of sales went to charity but I doubt that'll happen....

More than a woman was supposed to be Aaliyahs final single... and here we are, about to see the release of 'Rock The Boat'

There was more to the article.....Anyways, I did like the song 'No Scrubs', but i'm not a fan of the group so i feel no sympathy for her. i never knew her. just liked their music. not her. not that i dont hate her. it's like, how can i miss her if i never even knew her? get what i'm saying? it seems like a very deathful year.....left eye........aaliyah.....sept. 11.......president (hopefully).......so on and so forth....
 
Also, today, the 26th....there was a school shooting in Germany. 18 people were murdered. That's 19 young people who have been killed in the past two days.🙁
I liked the group TLC. It reminded me so much of Aaliyah.🙁
 
It is terrible about Lisa, and of course about the Germany shooting. There's too much of dying young, and murdering, etc, these days. It's just too depressing!😱 I really liked TLC 🙁

None of us 'Truely' knew Lisa... the thing is, another young talent has been taken from the world in a tragic accident, you don't have to like someone to feel sympathy for them... Lisa touched many people in her short lifetime, through her music, with the band and with other talents, even working behind the scenes, producing tracks for other talents... it's inevitable, she will be missed by many... even those who didn't like the work she did, a little sympathy goes a long long way in this day and age, when we're all far too busy fer one n other....
 
I agree with Lindsay, but remember its always nice to pay respect... she has done alot for other people don't forget!

Well aren't you a heartless human being. Whats the point in upsetting people with petty comments like that? Talk about having absolutely no respect. So when somebody gets murdered or raped or something just as bad you feel no sympathy just because you didn't know that person? Thats the saddest thing I have ever heard.


I was a massive TLC fan and still am, I think they have truely amazing songs. It is a tragedy and my heart goes out to all her family and friends and of course fans. It is such a shame because she had signed to death row and was destined for even more bigger things than TLC 🙁 She was a good singer and rapper, a big loss to the r&b world, yet another after aaliyah R.I.P.

Nicely said. I couldn't agree more. I was very upset when Aaliyah died, and now another younger rising star has left us. There are no words to express the sadness and anger that I feel. It's always horrible when people die, and it makes me angry at the world. Everybody has to die sometime, but why'd it have to happen like that?🙁 And so soon...

i understand what you're saying.good on on you for being honest.fake sympathy would be far worst.
i don't think people should be offended by someone feeling differently.we all have our own ways of dealing with death.its not wrong to feel very little for someone you don't know.
 
Actually Ashely*Marie... I find that very mean like you have no heart..but..IMO I MISS LISA..She was my fav. TLC...I miss her..I feel so said I cant believe we lost 2 singers..already...
 
I was gonna start a thread on this but saw this one - firstly, lets not argue about this and ashley*marie is entitled to her opinion. I agree, fake sympathy is worse, but i do think maybe she could have been a bit nicer about it. I feel great sympathy to people even if i dont know them, but thats not the issue here.

Lets just use this thread to pay great respect to a great singer and person -

she died while in a car with (i think 6) social workers on her way to do charity work in Honduras, and she will be missed by the music world and her own family and friends. TLC were making a new album, so i read. I saw the news in the papers and gasped. RIP Lisa Lopes - it is always sad when a young person dies, life is short. Everyone should remember that.
