Timeline:
Spike had returned to Sunnydale. He had trapped Willow and
Xander in the factory. Now he was getting supplies for Willow to
work the spell, stuck in the shop with the 'friends' Angel and Buffy.

"Ain't life grand," said Buffy smiling to Spike. "No, it bloody well
isn't, here I am stuck in this bloody place with you two making
cooing sounds to each other, it is bloody sickening. Last time I
saw you two together, you were having a sword fight. Never
got the chance to say it, but you were pretty good with that
sword thing."
"Where did you learn how to use a sword?" asked Angel.

"From my mothers side, back to Columbus's time my great some
thing or other was a pirate, what she could do with her sword
makes those Errol Flynn swashbuckling tales seem like child's
play," said Buffy.
"What! the slayers mum was a pirate!" exclaimed Spike.
"Not my mom you pillock, on her side of the family."

"You've never said." "The subject doesn't come up very often,
she was known Blacken Blade, she kept her swords with a
blackened blade."
"Have you told the others about her?" asked Angel.
"You are joking aren't you, considering who she killed. Don't
think Willow would like to hear about her," said Buffy.

"She was feared by all, she stole the gold after Columbus had
killed many. What she done was wrong, but at least she gave
Columbus cause for concern."
"That's not all they say!, lived a long time didn't she," said Spike.
"Pig! she was not a vampire, just 'cos he spilt a lot of blood it
doesn't mean she drank it," stated Buffy.

"You don't understand," said Angel, "Spike is sort of right. As a
pirate she did live a long time, but that was only because of her
second daughter it was that daughter who was a."
"Hey," interrupted Buffy, "If you tell me she was a vampire
I'll lay into you."

"Settle down slayer, she isn't a vampire, she is a damn site worse.
She is a debt collector for God and I not your him up there."
"Spike means the God down there," said Angel, "I've read some
of the stories the watcher guys have got about me."
"And they are all wrong," said Spike, "We didn't go to those
places just to kill everything that moved, we were running."

"Why would she want you though?" asked Buffy.
"Simple really, our allegiance was with the wrong one down
there. The son and the father, we allied ourselves with the son
but the father kept control, now the father has a debt collector
after every one who was with his son," said Spike.
"And she has been doing that? for how long?" asked Buffy.

Angel and Spike looked at each other. "She's been about for
almost three hundred years, others were before her, you ever
heard of chariots of fire in the skies, they weren't UFO's they
were sightings of a Debt Collector," said Angel.

"You didn't think Dru and I went to Brazil for our health did you?"
asked Spike.
"That is why the other me wanted to end it all, she was coming
here I'm glad you did send me to hell, it saved me. Because you
stopped me ending it all, that put her off the scent," said Angel.
"So how did you get out of hell?" asked Buffy

"A few upper level demons who had allied themselves with the
son sent me back here." "Oh, well that is good, so who's side is
she on?"
"At the moment she is only alive to kill, thing is when we are all
dead, she will have done her job," said Angel. "But the other
way of looking at this, she kills demons for now, when the job
is finished she will kill humans," said Spike.

"If she does come here, how do I stop her?" asked Buffy.
"You can't," said Angel, "This one could keep coming back. Our
God cursed her to live for ever, if you do kill her she will return."
"How will I know if she is here?" asked Buffy.
"Another simple one, we know about her, any that know will go."
"Only the stupid new demons will stay at the hellmouth."

"Well if she does come here, I'll stop here," said Buffy. "But you
won't, you've been a slayer for what? four or five years, she has
been a Debt Collector for about three hundred years, she knows
more about herself than what you do about you," said Angel.

Four days later, in the evening Buffy was chatting with Giles
when Willow and Xander came running to them.
"There is a new slayer in town! she does it differently though,
she just looks at them and they turn to dust," said Willow.
"I thought it would be her, the hellmouth has been a bit quiet."

Giles looked to her.
"You three should be safe, ever heard of a Debt Collector, Giles?"
"Some one who picks you up for non payments," said Xander.
"In our world Giles," said Buffy.
"What are you saying Buffy?"
"From what I've been told, the thing that Willow and Xander
saw is the Debt Collector," said Buffy.

"How old is this one?" asked Willow.
"About three hundred." "That is impressive, she has been sent
to help you?" asked Xander.
"Definitely not!, a few thousand years ago there was an
attempted coup in hell, the son against the father. The son lost,
all who allied themselves with the son are now being sought,
that is why Spike and Angel have gone," said Buffy.

"But they are too young," said Giles. "True," replied Buffy,
"But the demon that made them is that old, so all vampires are
on her list of things to do, the some of them know about her,
run from her."
Six vampires burst their way into the library.
"So you are the slayer," said one of them, "Bit small entcha."

Buffy looked to Giles, "It is bad English, bad slang, heck that is
bad Pigeon English, it means aren't you." "Thanks," replied Buffy.
"You're his then."
The vampires turn to see who said that. An inconspicuous
looking girl stood in the doorway, she looks about the room.

Buffy ordered her friends to get behind her. Buffy looked to the
girl, "These three, they are my friends."
It walked a step closer to Buffy, the vampires become piles of
dust. Buffy took another step towards the girl, her body became
a white glow. The girls body became a dark, black hole, the air
in between them appeared grey.

Stepping backwards both their bodies appearing again.
"I haven't felt one of them for a long time," said the girl.
"What does she mean?" asked Willow.
"That felt like there was something inside my body, thanks."
"What now?" asked Buffy.
"You turn a blind eye to me and I'll turn a blind eye to you."

"It could work," said Buffy, "But for how long."
"We would be doing what they both want, so we make a pact."
"Who is she?" asked Willow. Not moving her sight from the girl,
"She is The Debtor," said Buffy.
"Who?" Willow asked again.

"It's rumoured that Buffy is of the God from up there," said Giles,
"The other one is of the God down there. I once read that the
Debt Collectors were all from the same line."
"So it could be because of Buffy that I am still here."
"What do you mean by that?" asked Giles.

"We could both reap the rewards," said Buffy, "If we help each
other, it might work, best we give it a go. Oh guys, this is an
ancestor of mine, her name is Dana."

PART 2

Snyder noticed the girl looking at the awards cabinet.
"Waste of time you looking at them."
"Why?" asked Dana.
"Not them, you. If you don't go to class you won't be
here long enough to help get one," said Snyder.
"Why, this place hasn't got anything that will help me."
"That is a lovely thing to say to me, a challenge! and
from a student. Get to your class now or you will be
suspended. Music to my ears," he said happily.

Dana grabbed him by the throat then slammed him
forcibly against the wall.
"Don't you ever dare threaten me! with anything," Dana
looked deep into his mind, "Damn! you are not evil, that's
a shame. Oh hang on, what is this? I see you like to
make life awkward for the children here." Dana relaxed
her grip on Snyder allowing him to stand on the floor
without his back being thrust against the wall. "This is
better you want to expel Buffy? not a good idea, not if
you want to live."

"Miss, let him go now!"
Dana turned around to see it was.
"Let go of the principal or we will shoot you," said the
police officers.
"He hasn't said what I want to hear yet," said Dana.
"Shoot her, she's on PCP!" One of the policemen emptied
his gun into Dana.
Dana kept looking at him, mocking him, laughing. "That
was a waste of time," said Dana looking at him.

"I see you are just doing what he said, ok. This little
cretin thinks he is special, so unless he rethinks what he
wants to do, I will kill him." Dana increased her stare to
the police, "And there is nothing you can do to stop me."
A voice from behind the police asked them what was
happening.
"We just put six rounds into her, it hasn't even slowed her
down, who is she?"

One of them glanced behind. "My name is Giles, I'm the
librarian here. I know a bit about that person. Take it
from me, leave here, forget you have been here. It is the
best way," said Giles. Dana understood what he was
doing and why. She turned her gaze back to Snyder
"Do, say or even think about Buffy, I will be back for you."
"Not even nice thoughts?" asked Snyder.
Dana threw him the length of the corridor. She went with
Giles. "Where is Buffy?"

"She is in the library, just follow me."
Giles opened the doors of the library, holding the door
open for Dana, she smiled, "It has been a long time since
anyone did that for me, thank you."
Seeing Giles, "What was it about?" asked Buffy she then
saw Dana. Buffy's thoughts were of Willow's safety. Dana
looked at Buffy then to Willow, she smiled.

"Do not worry about her, she wants to help you. That
puts her in my good books." Dana approached Willow,
looking deep within her. "You really ought to listen to
Tara, hmm good thing though, Xander will stop me from
killing you."
"Xander can go up against you?" asked Buffy.
"Of course not, but he will stop your friend Willow, she
will also try to kill me, so you be grateful to Xander."

Giles looked to them, "Has Willow done something?"
"No, not yet but in a few years she will nearly, that is
why I would kill her," said Dana then looking to Giles, "You
will help her, and because of that help she will be
responsible for killing twenty or thirty thousand vampires."

"Is there that many?" asked Buffy. Dana looked to Buffy,
"Not here, not on the earth, she will be responsible for
them dying in hell."
"Why are you here now?" asked Willow.
"To get rid of a few more. Buffy gets rid of them because
they are evil, I get rid of them because they are the
wrong sort of evil," said Dana.

"Why have you come here, and why now?" asked Buffy.
"I've located a few in Peru, these vampires were
masquerading as Gods just so that blood sacrifices were
given to them. That was a few thousand years ago, they
have just surfaced again. I thought it might be nice if we
went together, it'd keep both our people happy."

"In Peru! I can't afford to go there, I cannot get the time
off school and my mom wouldn't allow me to go there,"
said Buffy.
Dana stared at her in disbelief. "Didn't they give you
anything? come with me. We will go there, do what we
need to do then come back. Will you be alright with me
meeting your mum?" asked Dana.
"If we can get a postcard from Peru, I reckon it is a good
idea," said Xander.
"Dana, Buffy is meant to be on guard at this hellmouth,
that is why she does not need to travel from country to
country," said Giles.

"Treats you like his daughter! I will have her back before
dinner time," said Dana.
"Does Giles have a daughter?" asked Willow. "Yes, he
does, you will meet her in a few years. Giles will want to
teach you about magic, he will take you to meet them,
his daughter is one of that coven that lives Devon."

"Come with me to the roof." Dana held her hand and they
were on the roof.
"How are we here?" asked Buffy.
"Short trips I can do, but for the longer trips I use one of
these."
Surprised Buffy looked at them. "If you weren't stuck at
one of the hellmouth's you'd have one of these."
Dana looked at Pegasus then to Buffy.

"Maybe yours would be white. Do you want to stay on
the land or do you want to fly?" asked Dana.
"I've never flown one, I have never ridden a horse."
"We'll do a bit of both, it's a lot easier if you fly."
"Why is that? "˜cos of the ocean?" asked Buffy.
"Sort of, they can run across the water but if there is a
storm, all that up and down, you could get sea sick."

Buffy held on to its mane while she was taken to LA and
back. Enjoying the experience she wanted to know what
was happening as they were landing on a roof. She smiled
to Dana, "Thanks, that was great, lets go to Peru."
"Buffy, you are in Peru, you wait here, I'll be back in a
second or two."
True to her word Dana soon returned, showing Buffy
some money.

"What is the money for?" asked Buffy. "For the postcards."
Landing on top of a place to buy and send the postcards
Buffy was grateful. Getting back to the roof she asked
where next. "It was to be a surprise, but seeing as you
asked we will be dropping in on the vampires you know,"
said Dana.

"I wouldn't want you to kill Angel, not to fussed about
the others though." Dana grinned, "Don't worry, Angel
will not be harmed nor will Spike. Remember what I said
about Willow being responsible for killing a lot of vampires,
well the other who will kill those vampires will be Spike.
Darla will soon be heading to my boss but Drusilla? I will
end her, you do want to see them don't you?"

Walking into the decrepit church Buffy called to Angel.
He came out from the confessional box, "What are you
doing here? where is...." Buffy pointed to behind her,
"Dana?"
Dana's body became a pit of blackness, suddenly Drusilla
flet them and into the blackness.
"What just happened?" asked Angel. Spike stood next to
them, "Why am I still here?" he asked.

"Buffy would like it if you made your way back to
Sunnydale," said Dana. Spike looked at Angel, they were
alone, "Did that just happen?"

Dana and Buffy walked from Giles' office.
"Buffy! You're back! Before dinner as well, I bet Dana has
never tasted the dinners here," said Willow.

PART 3 of The Debt Collector

Buffy, Willow and Xander had gone to attend a class,
Dana had decided to stayed in the library. Looking in awe
at all the books, Giles was curious at first then a little
apprehensive by her behaviour. Then realising her
demeanour was directed towards the books he became
very concerned for them.

"Do you realise this Giles, today, now, it is the first time
in at least three centuries I have even had the chance to
look at a book." Giles was pleased and relieved that Dana
was in favour of the written word. And Dana was more
than just a little like Giles, she was hesitant about that
strange plastic box called a computer.

Dana wanted to know which book was the most popular,
Giles told her that was easy. "The most published, in its
various forms is the bible." Dana's blank look told Giles
that more information was required. Handing her an early
form of the bible, "It tells of when the birth of Jesus
happened, Buffy's boss," he explained.

Sitting back in a chair Giles tried hard not to laugh at the
comments Dana was making while she ripped page after
page from the bible. "And this is bloody pathetic, ooh the
Star of Bethlehem! what crap, I thought every one, you
humans that is, would have found out by now that it
wasn't a star at all.

Oh, it does say about it appearing just above the horizon
to the east, seeing as where the three wise men were;
that is right."
"What do you mean?" asked Giles.
"The star was what you would know as a supernova, it
was D. O. Aquilla, in the year thirty three BC. So this is all
wrong." With that Dana ripped out the pages.

Giles was glad when Buffy and Willow came to get Dana.
He was even glad to speak to Xander, he didn't say much
though. He couldn't say much, as his sides hurt to much.
He had gone to the safety of his office.

As an hour of Dana's comments about the bible, partly
due to how she spoke of the errors and mistakes, and
partly due to the sound of the pages made as they were
ripped from the bible. Giles had nearly been in hysterics
for the last twenty minutes.

He hoped Willow didn't mention about her being Jewish.
Dana wasn't being nasty in her comments. As she did like
to read, only she liked the written word to be clear and
concise though. Giles was glad Dana hadn't tried to read
the quatrains of Nostradamus, that would have been
thrown in the bin.

Buffy had shown Dana where the church The Master used
to stay in and several of her favourite crypts in the
cemetery. Evening was starting to close in as Buffy took
Dana to meet her mom. Buffy was armed with some
information about Dana courtesy of Giles and Willow.

Joyce waited patiently at the house, thinking Buffy had
found a 2nd cousin, she had all the photo albums of the
family already to view, displayed in the correct order on
the coffee table.

Once the three of them had settled in the front room,
Buffy broke the silence. "What do you think them mom?"
"About what?"
Buffy indicated Dana, "Looks good for her age doesn't she?"
"I'm still not to sure who you are," said Joyce to Dana.
"Dana is my great grandmother, times eighteen!"

"What?" then looking to Dana, "Buffy said she was going to
bring a distant relative home for tea. I never expected this
though. Are you a vampire slayer? like Buffy?" Dana smiled,
"Sort of, I suppose I am what you would call a vampire
slayer. Only I play for the opposing team."
"What? you play for the opposition, ... oh!" Joyce looked
to Buffy.

"A person who is religious would say I am the devils
vampire slayer, only I am called a Debt Collector and he
isn't known as the devil, he is the Kuh-rotan." "What is a
Kuh-rotan?" asked Joyce.
"The king of demons," replied Dana.
Joyce was bemused. "Then how are you two together."

"It is like this mom, Dana, her two sisters and her mum
were pirates in the mid fifteen fifty's. Dana made a deal
with the Kuh-rotan to save her mum's life. She was going
to be hanged but what Dana did saved her and Dana
became a Debt Collector, she sold her soul to the devil.
As Dana wants to rid the world of most of the vampires
and a few demons we have teamed up."

Joyce looked at the photo albums, then to Dana
apologetically.
"I like the idea of seeing who my descendants are,
thanks," said Dana, Joyce smiled. "These are all quite a bit
younger than you, but camera's weren't invented then, I
don't suppose any had their portrait done either," said Joyce.

"There was one, she was a missionary in the sixteen
sixties and another had a picture taken of her in eighteen
forty three, she was with who are known as native
Americans; The Apache."
"Dana was born in the year fifteen twenty five," said Buffy.
"That long ago? have you killed many?" asked Joyce.

"Strangely enough Buffy and I were talking about that on
the way here. Your daughter reckons she killed about
fifteen hundred vampires. Even if you assumed that I only
killed one a week, it would still be over twenty two
thousand. Because I am good at what I do, it is more like
a hundred thousand, one of the reasons

why I am still here."
"We went to Peru yesterday morning, Dana killed six
vampires there, then we went to Brazil and she took out
another," said Buffy.
"And there's some more to do tomorrow, they are on a
container ship," said Dana.

"I still don't understand why or how you are together?"
asked Joyce. "We both kill vampires, for different reasons
maybe. So for the time being we are friends," replied Buffy.
"What when there's no more vampires?" asked Joyce.
"Because you are family, and considering what will
happen, I will just go away," said Dana.

"Okay, so how do you kill the vampires?"
"I have to fight them, is it easier for you?" asked Buffy.
"A lot easier, you know how you feel when the vampires
are close, well I get the same feeling only I can destroy
them from a distance without touching them." "I would
feel happier if Buffy could do that," said Joyce.

"She can't? I used to have to battle them, then one day
several hundred years ago, I killed several of the original
vampires. A trait they had was that they could kill at a
distance, the Kuh-rotan gave me their ability. For strong
ones, like Angelus or Spike I can give them the stare of
Penance, that would make them suffer."

"Could you? please?" asked Joyce. "I could, but it would
be a bad idea. Take Angelus for instance, in a few years
time another slayer will be able to get Angel back,
because of Angelus biting her."
"But, oh no!, that means my Buffy will die," exclaimed Joyce.

"No, no, no, Buffy won't die, she is a bit like me. She has
died before, that and she is the chosen one. Age will kill
her, but nothing else, nothing else can," said Dana.
"It would've been nice if Giles had told me that," said Joyce.
"He's still a human, how would he know," stated Dana.

Joyce offered a plate of cookies and sweets to Dana, she
looked at them curiously, smiled. Picking up a few
marshmallow's she turned to Buffy, "Monkey brains!"
Buffy took a few herself, she almost choked when she
started laughing as one slid down her throat.

"These vampires that are on a container ship, where will
you and Buffy have to go to get them?" asked Joyce
"About a hundred miles from the east coast. I think they
crept on board at Plymouth." Joyce looked to Buffy,
"How will you get out there?"
"I arranged for your daughter to be able to use one of our
horses."

"Actually that is a thought," continued Dana, "Because of
what we are doing, it being unprecedented good and evil
working together as friends for a common purpose. While
we are together your boss and my boss agreed that your
horse should be a unicorn," said Dana.

Joyce and Dana could see that Buffy was deep in thought,
looking to each other they announced how ignorant each
of them was about what Buffy was thinking.
"Some one I know likes unicorns, I can't think who it is
though. Oh well, I'd like that, thanks," stated Buffy.

"While we are over that way, we can go and see my
sisters grave."
"Ok, where is it? Near New York?" asBuffy. "No, it's
just off the west coast of Scotland, it's at the little chapel
on the Isle of Arran. We couldn't use her name, some one
might recognise her as a pirate so we used the time of day
instead on her headstone."

"What time of day was it?" asked Joyce.
"Twilight," said Dana, "The last time I went there her body
was still there," said Dana.

After Buffy and Dana had visited the grave of 'Twilight' Dana's
elder sister. They went back towards America, landing on a
container ship that was within the American internationally
recognised waters.

Part 4 of The Debt Collector

Looking down to the ship Buffy called to Dana, she pointed to it.
Dana smiled, then flew down, landing on one of the containers.
Buffy landed just a bit behind her.
"I never realised these ships were so big, they take lots of
containers," stated Buffy.

"Oh dear, this could bring about a few complications."
"What could?" asked Buffy.
"The people on this ship, it seems that they are the ones who
care for the vampires, their minions."

"That should be okay, they are still humans but they are helping
the evil, so it is alright. I had this before, a human was killed but
because he wasn't an actual demon I thought he was off limits,
so to speak. Turns out that due to his involvement with the evil,
killing him was such a grey area that he was almost considered
to be evil and it was accepted," said Buffy.

"First of all we should find which container the vampires are in
and dispose of them, then get the humans," said Dana.
"I cannot do it that way, as that way the humans are not
helping the evil. If we get the humans first, then that is ok,"
stated Buffy. "That might spoil our fun, well, mine anyway."

"Tell you what Dana, if we find the container, make sure it can't
be opened. Mark it, so we know which one it is then get the
humans. As long as we find out how to stop the ship everything
should be alright." Dana looks at the containers.
"Glad there's less than a thousand."

"Which end of the ship do you want?" asked Buffy.
"Which end? What do you mean?"
"If we take separate ends, it will be quicker," said Buffy.
Dana looked at her, "No, we stay together. One goes in the
other watches, if need be, that and we will only go into the
containers we need to."

"So which ones do we start with?" asked Buffy.
"The ones at the bottom of course." Buffy looked confused,
"Why the bottom?"
"Buffy, there is a high risk of a container being lost at sea during
a storm. So the containers that are worth more are kept lower
down, that way we can forget two hundred of them," said Dana.

Merely feeling a container Dana could tell if they needed to go
inside it. They had covered the bottom layer and were almost at
the end of the second level when Dana indicated a container.
"Are the vampires in that one?" asked Buffy.

"I am not sure, they might be. There is something else, it could
be more important. Be prepared to leave, as will I."
Opening the container they went inside, Buffy expected it to be
full, almost overflowing yet there was more than enough space
to walk. Buffy looked at a crate, "That design, those words?
what are they?"

"Odd, they are of the Catholic religion, those words speak of
The Demon Hole. Quietly, open this crate," said Dana.
Once the crate was opened and the straw packing was removed
a book was uncovered. Path Of Illumination. Buffy could see that
Dana was concerned by its presence.

"What is that book?" asked Buffy.
"An old curse, thought to be used by the Illuminati to remove
the Illuminati, I am not sure why here though?" asked Dana.
Buffy had no answers, she watched as Dana processed the
course of the ship. "Did it say where this container is going?"

"This crate is for The White House, it was marked as having
important documents for display only."
"Oh! That is why it is here, to destroy The White House the seat
of the Illuminati," said Dana.

"Why destroy the home of the president?" asked Buffy.
"Do you really need me to tell you why it is seen as being the
head of corruption against the Catholic religion?"
"You may need to Dana, I'm not sure of my own religion,
knowing about that religion is even less likely."

"Oh dear, for one, you are not in a religion," said Dana, "All
religions have been created by man to follow your Gods
teachings. You, as I have been created, are of our own God. As
we have here, one of your earth bound religions wants to
destroy the other, it is making itself closer to being in control,"
stated Dana.

"You seem to concerned," said Buffy," Why?"
"You want the good to control the earth," said Dana, "Not the
Catholics, nor any other religion. A heaven on earth? to have
heaven on earth all religions need to be stopped. We want to
control the earth as well, one religion battling against another is
in our favour, until one of those religions wins."

"How could what is here be against what you want?" asked Buffy.
"You want to win, we want to win, having the humans win is
unacceptable. Path of Illumination, destroying, the light.
The White House it is a portal of coincidence; the white as a
reference of the light.

The Illuminati, a defined order, that reasoned the fact of science.
The Catholic church saw science as being against their God. It
stemmed from the days when the catholic church specified the
earth was flat with heaven being above and hell below.

Men of science found the world to be round. Now the catholic
church are trying to destroy the seat of the Illuminati;
The White House," said Dana.
"Why The White House?" asked Buffy.
"Think about it, all the relevance's: the light and white, the
four pillars and the four elements.

When this ship gets there, it brings the fifth element. On the
base of the four pillars at the front of The White House, are the
sculptures of the four elements. As I said, the meeting of this
book brings the fifth.

This ship Buffy, it travels on one of the elements; water.
The air and fire are of the combustion engine that powers this
ship. The earth is represented by its point of destination."
"But what is the fifth element?" asked Buffy, "I didn't even
know there was one."

"Death is the final element, an end of the elements."
"It still does not specifically indicated that it is the seat of the
Illuminati," said Buffy.
"True, we would need to include a few other details.

America has many new religions, some of those have stated that
they are against the teaching and beliefs of the Catholic church,
some of them have been caste aside by the Catholic church. In
America there is a distinct following of the sciences.

Then there is the knowledge that almost all of the presidents
are of lineage to the various seats of royalty in Europe, they
who always married within their own, hence perpetuating the line.
Buffy? Did you never ask why certain people were protected by
the royalty of Europe.

Known members of the Illuminati, like Galileo? Leonardo Da Vinci?
Shakespeare? Nostradamus? How many of them were invested in
the occult at a time when it was considered to be a death
sentence."

Dana looked to the end of the container.
"Buffy? have a look at what else is here."
After a minute Buffy said that there was four long crates at the
end. Dana looked to Buffy then went to see for herself,
"Could be."

"What could they be?" asked Buffy.
They started to open the crates, then removed the straw
packing to reveal four coffins. Searching the outsides of the
coffins, the only fittings was the holy cross on each of them.

"Now do we open them?" asked Buffy smiling, "Ready? she
turned the cross on each, opening it." Then she ran to the
other end as Dana caused the vampires to be engulfed in ball's
of fire. "That's them, now what about the rest?" Buffy asked.

"Remove a few panels in the bottom of this ship on one side and
sink it, most of the containers will float away and the people can
get on them," said Dana.
"Then what?" asked Buffy.

"Go and have a chat with your watcher or, and this sounds like
it could be more fun."
"What is that Dana?"
"Have a chat with Quentin at the Watchers Council," said Dana.

Part 5 of The Debt Collector

Quentin and several members of the watchers council were
continually milling about, regularly going between their offices
and the library.
Giles had rung them that morning asking them for information
about the Debt Collector.

One of the teachers, a Mr. Edgeley from the watchers council
school just outside the city of St. Albans had gone there. One
of the fifty girls who attended the school had been attacked in
the early hours of the morning. That was a concern but it was
what happened next that presented cause for alarm.
As he told Quentin

“The girl was ready to die, but, due to the intervention of a
stranger, she is still with us.”
Several at the council headquarters had stopped to listen.
“The girl who was in training was Clarissa Stevens, she had
been doing her school work at another of the students rooms
during the evening.” “Attacks in the school grounds? We need
to increase security there,” said Quentin.

“Quentin, listen carefully. Having been unable to sleep the girl
had gone for a walk in the garden of the school. It was while
she was sitting on a bench seat under a light that she was
attacked by five vampires. She was surrounded, and, so she
told me, she was taunted by them,” said Me Edgeley.

“What happened to her? Will she become one of them?” asked
Quentin. “No I am glad to say, thanks to a stranger Clarissa is
okay, if you want to you can speak to her yourself.
She is waiting outside this room.”

Quentin stood, walked part way along the table, looked at his
watch. Looking to Mr. Edgeley, “That would be helpful, call her
in.” Clarissa was no more than fifteen years old, she walked in
accompanied by her teacher. “All that you need do is tell them
what you told me. Clarissa, these people are all members in the

watcher council, they want to know about the attack.”
“More specifically miss, we want to know who saved you?”
asked Quentin.
“What did you tell them?” asked Clarissa
“Only that you were about to be attacked by five vampires and
that you were saved, that is all,” said Mr. Edgeley.

Quentin offered her a chair, when Clarissa had sat down.
“In your own time miss, but please, try to tell us everything.”
Clarissa took a few sips of water, breathed in, thought about
the events of the night.

“I was having a restless night, I had been to another girls
room, we were reading accounts of Queen Boudicca’s armies,
which were primarily the tribes of The Iceni epic march that
defeated a Roman garrison then headed south towards
St. Albans but were defeated.”

“How would that stop you from sleeping?” asked Quentin.
“It didn’t, but my mind had become very active. That is why I
went for a walk, too clear my mind and to make my self tired,”
said Clarissa.
“The vampires? Where they were from?” asked Mr. Edgeley.

“One of them said she was hungry because she had come from
Alcester, another said he was hungry as he had come from a
place called Nuneaton. Although I was less worried about how
hungry they were at that point, I just wanted them to kill me
as I had seen what was behind them.”
She remembered that sight, with horror.

“What was behind them? What do you mean?” asked Quentin.
“I nearly screamed I was that horrified! This thing flew down
on a black skeleton of a winged horse that had glowing red eyes.
When it landed a, well it looked like a woman, she got of and
grabbed hold of one of the vampires, spinning it to face her.

That thing stared at the vampire, face to face. I don’t know
how but it was as if I could see the vampire start to burn from
within. The other vampires; their bodies fell apart and all that
was left of them was a pile of bones. That’s a thought,” said
Clarissa, “I heard something above me but before I could have

a proper look the woman got back on that beast and flew up
alongside....”
“Me!”
Quickly turning to where the sound of the voice was heard.
“Miss Summers?” acknowledged Quentin.
“Who is she?” asked Mr. Edgeley. Quentin indicated to her,

“Mr. Edgeley, Clarissa, this young lady is Buffy. Clarissa, I think
you should greet her, she is who you should aspire to be.
She is the vampire slayer.”
“You are her, I never thought I would get to meet you. Aren’t
you meant to be in America?”

“Yeah, I just popped over for a flying visit, that and because
my friend thought it would be fun to meet Quentin,” said Buffy.
“A flying visit? who is your friend?”
“Sorry Quentin, this is, oh. Sorry I thought she was behind me,
hang on I’ll go and get her.” Buffy went out into a corridor.

Not seeing her new friend she went along the corridor. Passing
an open door to an office she heard Carla’s voice. Looking inside
the room, “What are you doing in here?”
“I thought I heard these people talking about some vampires so
I came in, and I was right, they were. Seems as though there is
going to be a meeting soon.”

Looking at who Carla was with.
“Are you two watchers?” asked Buffy.
“Yes, why do you ask?”
“I was just with Quentin, can you all join us, now?”
The three of them followed Buffy into the main room.

“That’s her! She attacked me last night!” exclaimed Clarissa.
“I did not! the vampires were about to attack you, I attacked
them.”
“She is right Clarissa, Carla saved you admittedly I asked her to
but the fact is she did and I didn’t have to ask her twice,” said
Buffy. Clarissa looked to Buffy, then went to Carla.

“Thank you, I am sorry I thought you were about to attack me.”
With that Clarissa hugged Carla.
“WOW!” Carla stepped back quickly.
“That’s twice now.”
Carla appeared to be puzzled, then concerned. She went to
every one in the room, hugging each of them.
“So why only you?” asked Carla.

“What do you mean?” asked Buffy.
“Two people have hugged me, both times I felt their souls.”
“You felt? You could actually feel my soul? how?” asked Clarissa.
“It could be because I don’t have one, it could be because you
have been chosen. Although? Well, Buffy is the vampire slayer
so who are you? oh!”

Carla whispered into Buffy’s ear. Buffy shot a glance to Clarissa.
“She will be? wow! Quentin, Clarissa will be the next head of the
watchers council!”
“Okay, I have a few questions, how do you know that?” he asked.
“Well, okay, right, this is my friend Carla. She is also one of my
relatives, an ancestor from several hundred years ago.

I don’t think you’d have heard of her before, she is The Debt
Collector.”
The people in the room went silent.

“Who, or what is a debt collector?” asked Clarissa.
“The opposite of our God, he chose her to collect his debts,”
said Quentin.
“I hugged an agent of the devil? Why did you come here? What
do you intend to do now?” asked Clarissa.

“I wanted to meet Quentin, now though I have more questions,
there is meant to be a meeting of vampires soon, what do you
know about it?” asked Carla.
“I am not to sure about telling you,” said Quentin.
“If I am to be the next head of the watchers council,
considering that Carla saved my life last night, we tell her
everything we know.

One of the vampires last night said about a meeting in London.
It is near a hill where a saint was executed, where ever that is?”
“Where a saint was hung?” asked one of the watchers,
“Who could that refer to?”

Carla watched them, discretely enjoying their confusion. “What
do you think Carla?” asked Clarissa.
“I could be wrong here, this is one of your religion’s here not
mine, but as far as I am aware people became saints after
they were dead.

Given that, thinking of who was executed on the hill. That would
make me inclined to think of Saint John Fisher. He was executed
at Tower Hill in London, which points directly to where the
meeting is,” said Carla.
“I can guess where we are going tonight,” said Buffy.

To Be Continued.

Saint John Fisher.
He was a Roman Catholic Archbishop who refused to recognise
Henry V111 as the leader of the Church of England.
So John Fisher was executed, he became a martyr.
He was made a saint soon after.

A seemingly routine visit to the watchers council had provided Carla
and Buffy with information that the vampires were to have a meeting,
Carla wasn't concerned, then the devil came to town!

Part 6 of The Debt Collector

The following day, armed with the information that vampires were
going to be having a meeting Carla and Buffy went to the area
known as Tower Hill in London. Buffy had asked Carla not to kill them
straight away as she wanted to know why the meeting was
happening.

Even as they neared the area Buffy nearly fell from the unicorn, such
was the gathering of vampires.
Quentin was surprised to see Carla back so soon, became worried
seeing her carrying Buffy. Carla told him she was unable to cope
with the vampires there.

Until Carla had informed him she had felt more than a hundred in the
area they had flown towards he was concerned. Then Carla informed
him that there could be three or four more areas that they had not
been covered. Clarissa had been asked to stay in the confines of the
council headquarters and learn about the watchers.

When Carla learnt of what had been asked of her she requested that
Clarissa be allowed to help. Thinking that the experience might be
good and also that as Mr. Rupert Giles was already being flown to
help, together they could be of benefit. Quentin knew that Giles'
experience of dealing with vampires would assist them all.

Clarissa spent the night in the same room as Buffy, at Carla's request.
When Buffy awoke from her coma, Clarissa tried to prepare her. Giles
entered the room not long after Buffy regained consciousness. When
Carla came into the room Giles started to get an understanding of
the situation.

Carla told them that she had asked both hers and Buffy's Gods for
help. "What is so bad?" asked Giles.
That was when he started to learn.
"Two slayers of the past have been ordered to return, as have some
of yours Gods army," said Carla.
"We have an army?" asked Buffy, "Who are they?"

"They should be referred to as the Knights of Byzantium, the slayers
of the past will be in his overall charge, yet they, as will the general
of Byzantium be answerable to you Buffy," said Carla.
"I was told a situation was developing, I didn't know what the
problem was, but this?" asked Giles.

"The situation as you called it is about to become huge, I told Buffy
and several others that Clarissa would be the next head of the
Watchers Council. Well, what is about to happen is why she will
become the head. Precautions have been taken, know that we
cannot be disturbed.

This room has been temporarily removed from earth, it is in the
purgatory known to our side. An area that is devoid of everything
and anything. Two people will be here soon to help us Buffy, they
are my mother and my sister. I should warn you all, the other who
is coming here, Buffy and I are the only ones allowed to speak to
him," said Carla.

"Who is it?" asked Buffy.
"He is known as the Kuh-rotan."

Quentin fell onto the floor of the room. "Why was the door locked?
"I don't think the door was locked," said Clarissa, "More that the
room wasn't here. We have just had a visitor."
"He wanted to know that there was a need for my request to be
allowed," said Carla.

"Who do you mean?" Quentin asked hesitantly.
"The being who has my soul," replied Carla.
A being of pure glorious light took form in the middle of the room,
she looked at Buffy, smiled then vanished leaving two past vampire
slayers and the general of Byzantium.

One of the girls stepped forward. "As soon as I was told I would be
coming here I made sure I had your jumper with me, thank you."
"Kendra? good to see you again." Buffy looked to the other,
"I'm sorry, have we met? who are you?" asked Buffy.
"I am Nikki Woods."

Buffy greeted her then looked to the man.
"Then that would mean that you would be the general?"
He caste his eyes at those in the room, "That means that you are
the chosen one, I am known as Gregor."

"Carla, do you know who that was?" asked Buffy.
"Yes, I have seen her before, but I have never spoken to her. Rightly
so, she was once a slayer," said Carla.
"Oh? She was a slayer? But didn't she have wings? I thought she was
an Angel," said Buffy.

"She is, sort of. She helps the recently departed vampire slayers.
To many of those on your side, she is regarded as Angelic Slayer."
Carla looked to the middle of the room seeing a faint hint of the glow
still there, she thought to Angelic Slayer. I vow never to disclose
that your God is here, and that Buffy should always be referred to
as Buffy Summers."

Two figures suddenly appeared in the room, Buffy stared at them,
"More relatives?" "Yes, more relatives," said Carla.
"Alright sis! There is work to be done is there?" She handed Carla a
bottle of Rum. "Now ... bring me that horizon!" she said.
Carla raised the bottle of Rum, "Drink up, me hearties. Yo ho!"
"And really bad eggs," said their mum..

The three of them hugged each other, laughing merrily as they did so.
"Mum? what is my sisters real name? I can't remember," said Carla
"One of the problems of not being able to remember, you put on her
headstone the name she was known as, her real name!"

"Oh! Oh well. Mum, sis, this is one of our descendants, this is Buffy.
The people we will be going into battle with are Nikki and Kendra.
They are vampire slayers."
"When will you be going?" asked Clarissa. Carla looked to Buffy,
"What do you think is the best time?"

Buffy told Carla that plans were about to be made, that they should
all be involved. As the sun was rising the next day several winged
horses and unicorns rose into the sky, heading for central London.
"Where are they going?" asked Mr. Edgeley.

"There first stop will be The Three Lords tavern. Carla maintains that
many are in the cellars. That's a thought, is there a radio in here? I
need it turned on," said Clarissa. "Why?" asked Quentin.
"They will land outside the front of the place, considering where it is
three skeletal horses and three winged unicorns, that's liable to be a
news flash."

Unsure if it was because they were together again, or it was the
several hundred years of rest Carla, Twilight and Blacken Blade
unsheathed their swords, charging through the walls of the tavern
then down into the cellar. Buffy, Nikki and Kendra were armed with
cross bows, although Kendra still carried her favourite piece of wood,
Mr. Pointy.

They had just opened the cellar door to go down into the cold.
"Bit quiet down there," said Nikki. Climbing down the steps they saw
the cellar was empty apart from three happy pirates and one very
scared vampire.
"You did say you wanted some questions answered," said Carla
looking to Buffy.

"I did, but where are the other vampires?" asked Buffy.
"We killed them, there was only ninety or so, no biggy."
"Ninety? And you only left us one? hey! just in case you don't know
this, we are the vampire slayers. The point is, we should slay them
not you," said Buffy grinning to Carla.

"We did leave you one, I think that was very generous of us."
Carla stepped closer to Kendra, "What can you do? How could you
make it talk?"
"I really don't want to do this, but," said Buffy looking to Twilight.
Taking into herself the fear of the vampires six victims, allowing it

to become hatred. Buffy picked up a rusty pair of pliers, looking to
the vampire.
"I've always wondered this, what would a vampire do with no teeth?"

Oh right, I almost forgot, this is a family friendly site.
Buffy-Boards.com is not the place for this kind of violence.
Suffice to say that many expletives were used, the screams
of the vampire echoed through out the cellar all that day
and night.

The owners of The Three Lords tavern were not impressed as they
had no patrons. They also had to endure the excitement of seven
parapsychologists as they listened to the noises in the cellar.

The first Clarissa knew of the expected people returning was the
sound of hooves on the roof, rushing to the roof she greeted each of
them like long lost friends. "So? Did you kill them all? Did you learn
what it is they are going to do?"

"I think I had some built up tension in me," said Buffy, "Probably
caused by vampires taking friends and hurting people."
"So?" asked Clarissa.
"All that tension has gone now!" Buffy stated happily.
"I think we know why they are here, and should we ever need it we

know a lot more about a vampires anatomy. Their main teeth are
hollow, which most people guessed but it seems that the demon
seed is passed into the humans body to begin the transference. The
human taking demon blood into the throat simply completes a new
circle, and the demon is reborn," said Carla, "But I digress, the

vampires are seeking revenge against my attacks which is good. By
them fighting with hatred rather than a clear head they are easier to
beat."
"How do they intend to stop you?" "Should I be within earshot of a
cain bell that sounds as if a thirteenth toll has sounded I will cease
to be. Which is daft as I will be replaced, also if I hear thirteen tolls
of the bell as long as I get close to it I will hear an echo of the last,
making it fourteen," said Carla.

"And now? what do you want to do now?"
"Now we take it easy, tomorrow is a big day," said Carla.

A seemingly routine visit to the watchers council had provided
Carla and Buffy with information that the vampires were to have
a meeting. The Kuh-rotan allowed Carla's mother and sister to
be returned from the dead. Buffy was sent Kendra and Nikki.
Together their aim was the underground.

Part 7 of The Debt Collector

Long before the sunlight caused the brightness to emblazon the
horizon twelve pairs of hoofs landed on the roof of Guys
hospital. Allowing themselves plenty of time to walk the levels
down to the lobby of the hospital.

Quentin and Giles had spent all night speed reading as many
books as they could, trying to find a reference to the Debt
Collector.
It was just past six that morning that Clarissa joined them,
when they told her what she was doing she almost laughed.

"One of the things we have been taught at the school is that
the good guys are not renowned for their communications
skills." Inviting them to sit down opposite her, "Yesterday when
we were visited by the Kuh-rotan several of the scenarios he
mentioned made me think. I don't know about you two but

when I thought about it later, and reading between the lines I
saw what might happen."
"So? What was that?" asked Quentin.
"The two that Carla was sent; her mother and her sister.
Essentially there is now three Debt Collectors."

"I did realise that," said Giles.
"Did you realise that when this was sorted only one would be
leaving?" asked Clarissa.
"No, I didn't. Wait a minute, there is three of them," said Giles.

"That is his new plan, I think that he will give Carla a hundred
years rest in her grave and her sister will take her place."
"Then it is their mother who will be allowed to die?" asked Giles.
"That's right, what I thought you would have been doing last
night is organising eventualities for today."

"What would they be Clarissa?" asked Quentin.
"They have gone to Guys Hospital nice and early, heading to
St. Katherine's Haven hopefully before the foot traffic has
reached a noticeable number. What you should have been doing
was arranging for the closing of Tower Hill underground station.

They think there could be a vast number of vampires there,"
said Clarissa.
"Is there any reason for leaving that place to last?"
"Of all the places being used, if they got on an underground
train, in the evening, by going to a main line station they could
get to anywhere in the country undetected."

Quentin and Giles agreed, "Thinking like that they could get
anywhere in the world."
"That is a worry," said Quentin, "I had not thought of that."
"Another thing you hadn't thought of," said Clarissa, "There are
three slayers and three Debt Collectors intent on stopping that
scenario."

"This sister that will take Carla's place, what do we know about
her?" asked Quentin. "I can help you a bit there," said Clarissa,
"Her name is Twilight, she was born in the year fifteen forty
eight. Like her mother and sister she was a pirate. Not much is
known about her life. But she is buried on the Isle of Arran."

"What's the betting that her mothers and her sisters graves are
there now," suggested Giles.
"You could be right, I will organise some one to tidy the graves,
depending on if the chapel is still being used, the council could
ensure it is being taken care of as well," said Quentin.

Clarissa looked to the clock on the wall.
"Chances are they will be in a battle right now, depending on
how many vampires they found. The next place was going to be
the basement of a restaurant not far from Tower Hill."

"Which reminds me, I had best try and find out about the
underground, how to get the station closed," said Quentin.
"I don't envy you, doing that could be a problem."
"Guys, we may have done this once or twice at the school,
there is a powder that when mixed with water gives off a smell

like rotten eggs," said Clarissa.
"So? how does that help us?" asked Quentin.
"If enough was made and used in a bird feeder at several
locations throughout the station, a smell like that might get the
station closed.

As long as someone happened to report the strange smell. Like
a gas or a broken sewer?" asked Clarissa.
Quentin eyed Clarissa suspiciously, then turning to Mr. Edgeley,
"Have there been any cases like that at the school recently?"
"Only when tests are being held." he replied.

Reading the out of date magazines in the hospitals main
entrance, every few minutes at least one of the six young
women would look at the clock, or look out the window. They
wanted to see if the sky was bright enough.
"Buffy? can you read the number plates on those cars over the
road?" asked Carla.

"Sure? why do you want me to do that."
"If it's bright enough for that, lets do what we are here for."
The six stood up, facing each other, "Three pairs of a slayer
and a Collector," said Twilight. Without any disagreements they
paired off and went to the basement.

As they ran into the depths of the hospital no-one mentioned as
to whereabouts of the vampires. Even after ten minutes of
charging along the underground passageways no vampires could
be felt. The three pairs met up near the laundry. "I did not feel
anything here," said Kendra. "Should we keep looking, or go to
the next place?" asked Twilight.

"We could go there, it might be quicker if one of the Collectors
has a quick look though, 'cos I don't think they will be there,"
said Nikki. "Why not?" asked Carla.
"What happened at the Three Lords may have been noticed by
them, so they might have had their meeting and be planning to
leave."

Carla looked to her sister then to Buffy, "The train station it is."
Buffy looked to Kendra, "Being seen in such a public place, what
would your watcher think?"
"He would scream, I tink. Then he would run away .. ... .. I am
dead you know."
"Oh yeah, I forgot about that," said Buffy.

"I do hope you managed to get the underground station closed,"
said Clarissa.
"I am not to sure, the last I heard they were still trying to,"
replied Quentin.
"Why?" asked Giles, "And why did you say it like as if it needed
to be done now?"

"Various reports are coming in, a helicopter pilot taking people
on a joy ride around London had to avoid hitting six people on
winged horses, three white and three black, policemen have
witnessed flying horses landing on Tower Hill underground
station, and there is C.C.T. footage of them running into the
station, three of them ran through a wall," reported Clarissa.

"Right! well lets look at the bright side, if it is not being closed
now, it never will be," said Quentin.
Clarissa turned up the TV, "A camera crew have just set up
outside the station," she said. Facing the TV the first sound
they heard was a long loud scream that suddenly stopped.

"Vampire?" asked Mr. Edgeley.
"Sounded like one," agreed Quentin. Before Giles could offer his
expertise to the matter there was vision of seven people
running out of the tube station.
"What is happening down there? Why are you running?" asked
the tv reporter.

"Some people had us cornered, they all had something wrong
with their faces then these, well people walked through the
wall. Three of them attacked and those, well the ones that had
us cornered, they fell as dust. One of the ones that came
through the wall she looked at one that was holding me. I saw
its body begin to glow! fire came from the ends of all the
fingers! then it vanished, falling to the floor as dust!"

The Kuh-rotan had allowed Carla's mother and sister to be
returned from the dead. Buffy was sent the vampire slayers
Kendra and Nikki. They were also sent those controlled by
General Gregor, soon the Knights would ride into action.

Part 8 of The Debt Collector

"Following the report we made a few minutes ago from Tower
Hill tube station the solid doors that were installed at the start
of WW2 were closed. The whole network of the underground
has been closed," said the tv reporter.

Giles quickly picked up the phone, looking at the clock. Ten AM,
oh dear it'll be the early hours of the morning, oh well. He dialled
Willow's number, waiting for her to answer. "Willow! just listen to
me, I need Angel to contact Buffy, I need to get a message to
her, and fast please oh!"

Giles noticed that the room was becoming brighter, a figure, an
angel, glowing faced him. "You? you are that Angelic Slayer!
What do you want?" asked Giles.
Hearing her answer in his head, she told him that Buffy would be
told of the seals being lowered. "Er Willow, we have just been
told it is okay, sorry."

Buffy and Kendra were stealthily moving along the fourth
platform, moving from pillar to pillar, hiding their presence. The
vampire could hear the faint touches of their feet on the
platform, yet no position could be ascertained. Only that two
were trying to trap him, hearing a couple of sounds he knew
where they where. "OI!" Turning he saw another, just as he
saw the wooden stake plunging into his chest.

"That's another," said Nikki, "That makes twenty five so far."
"Who is next?" asked Kendra.
"Oh, I see, I'm expected to know there names as well am I?"
asked Buffy.
"You don't know?" Kendra faced Nikki,
"Some slayers! I bet she didn't read her manual either?"

Buffy pointed to a door, marked maintenance only. Standing
back she and Kendra withdrew their crossbow, took a pace back
then as Nikki quickly opened the door two vampires were felled,
as Nikki tripped a third vampire the cross bows were reloaded
and two more vampires were dispatched.

The three Debt Collectors slowly moved from door to door, when
vampires were felt they immediately became dust. Converging on
the platforms they met the slayers, Buffy looked at Carla,
picturing the water tight doors being set in place. Carla let Buffy
know she had received the picture. Moving along the tunnels
Nikki and Kendra despatched another eight vampires and had
one for questioning.

"How many did you guys get, I only got forty or so," said Carla.
Her sisters said they had found the same.
"As did we," added Nikki.
Buffy looked at the vampire, "If you want us vampire slayers to
let you go, you will tell us what we want to know." The vampire
cautiously glanced at each of them.

"To long, sorry," said Nikki, dropping it to the floor then dropping
Buffy dropped her necklace down the vampires throat. It pointed
along one of the rails. Nikki took Buffy's cross from the vampires
throat. "If you promise to let me live, I will tell you more," said
the vampire, it'll be worth it."

Buffy looked to each of them, "As long as it is worth it, I promise
that us vampire slayers will not harm you."
"Many have already left, some have gone to Euston to get the
train to Rugby, one of them said about an old school there.
Several others have gone to Bristol and Bath."

"What is in Bath?" asked Carla's mother. "I know this, that's right.
Giles used to stay there, he told me that there is an old roman
building bathing house there," said Buffy.
"So?" asked Kendra.
"They used smoke in the chambers below the water to heat it,"
said Buffy.

Buffy, Carla, you go and try to get the vampires that have left
here, we'll go into the tunnel," said Nikki.
As they were about to leave, "Sorry about telling the vampire
about us vampire slayers not harming the vampire," said Buffy
as she smiled to Carla. "To slow!" exclaimed Twilight. She deftly
flicked her wrist causing the vampire to burst into flames.

"I want to be able to do that," said Buffy.
"And be one of us? somehow I don't think so," replied Twilight.
Watching eagerly at the entrance to the station, the news crew
were becoming impatient. Suddenly the crowd began to run away.
The camera man turned just in time to see the winged unicorn
and the winged black horse land on the pavement.

The reporter nearly had time to voice her astonishment, Buffy
and Carla ran from the station, and jumped onto the animals.
Buffy saw the camera pointed straight at her. Shouting to the
camera as she started to fly away, "Sorry Quentin!"
The reporter looked to the camera operator,
"Sorry Quent? who is Quent?"

Soaring into the sky, this time they wanted to avoid being seen
by any helicopters, Buffy called to Carla, "We could go to those
buildings at Bath and Bristol."
"Okay, I will tell your people about the old school at Rugby."

Flying together and avoiding all other air traffic Carla and Buffy
headed towards Bath. They discretely landed so that their
presence would not be notable. Wondering into the bookshop
they began to look at what was where. Whilst finding where the
underfloor heating was situated Carla made some interesting
discoveries.

"This may have consequence, see the lines on top of the
Haruspex Stone, they are a Roman bastardisation of the Ogham
language. It is the devils stone, which given how vampires are
thought of by Kuh-rotan it could be a seat of corruption against
him," said Carla.

"Has that got anything to do with the Goddess Sulis Minerva?
'cos it said about her in a booklet. You could see a priest, the
Haruspex, offer a wish to the Goddess in a special metal pan
marked DSM?"
"If those vampires are here, they may have found how to corrupt
the Kuh-rotan," said Carla.

"Let's go and have a look at the Western baths, the plunge
rooms are the ones that are heated," said Buffy. Waiting for the
sun to set Buffy asked Carla about Rugby. "I left a message that
should have been passed on by now."

Curious dark clouds began to move towards Stratford-On-Avon,
bolts of lightening flashed to the ground while rolls of thunder
echoed across the valleys of Warwickshire. People rans for cover
as the rain began to strike the roads and the pathways. Sun
roofs on cars were quickly closed as the cars that were
convertibles fast became hard-tops.

Shopkeepers looked outside, curious as to why their shops were
filling up but nothing was being bought. A bus was caught in the
exodus to leave the town. Its passengers casually looked to the
Shakespeare centre, then the river began to emit a glow, the
surface of the river began to ripple from the middle soon

becoming a mass of foam. The river appeared to be boiling,
startled passengers on the bus tried to get out, as from the river
the Knights of Byzantium rose. As if they were walking on the air
itself they strode forward.
Some people still watching from the bus saw several lines of
them, then the tens of lines became hundreds of lines. Then
they all vanished.

The dark clouds began to drift away from the town, sunlight
soon dried the roads and pavements, people slowly wandered
towards the river, guessing who they could have been. Two
owners of a bookshop stared at the clouds.
"I wonder how many people noticed that the clouds left here in
all directions, as if this was the centre of a circle."

Buffy and Carla had gone to Bath leaving the other Debt
Collectors and the Vampire Slayers to search the underground
tunnels at Tower Hill.
Meanwhile the Knights of Byzantium had risen from the river at
Stratford-On-Avon.

Part 9 of The Debt Collector

Quentin arranged for their interpretation of the meaning of the
old school in Rugby, literally meaning Rugby's famous old school
to be sent to General Gregor. Gregor soon stood in the entry to
the underground tunnels under Rugby school.

He sent the troops in Armed Forces along a tunnel; to pinpoint
the length of the tunnel he sent them in at two yard intervals.
Knowing that he would be able to send details of the length of
the tunnel to the watchers council, also if there was a fight
there would be plenty of his troops available.

It was a lot sooner than he expected that word was sent to him
from the tunnel that a square room had been located.
He went there. Looking at the features of the room he sent a
line of his troops into the southern passage.

Six hundred of his men went into the tunnel before word came
back they had reached its end. As they returned they were sent
into the westward tunnel then the eastward tunnel, both tunnels
took eight hundred men.

Turning to his scribe, "Where did those tunnels lead to?"
The scribe read his notes. "The first tunnel led to the chapel for
Rugby's old hospital, the second tunnel ended just below a
grandstand in a park, the third tunnel was for another chapel."

"I will send them into the north tunnel."
He had to wait a bit longer for news of where the tunnel went.
This time a thousand of his men had gone along the path in the
tunnel. Those who had gone first telling him on their return of
what they found. Then facing his scribe.

"They found a house, 32 Lower Frogmorton Lane. Does that
mean anything to you?"
Calling the Angelic Slayer, the details of what they had found
were sent to the watchers council.

Quentin called for several copies of the report to be made so
that everyone could have access to it. He asked that a reason
of the nature of, or a reason for the tunnels be found soon.
Looking to the report himself as he wandered in ever decreasing
circles, he noticed how everyone at the table was looking at the

report or writing their thought about it.
"Just a thought," announced Clarissa, "These tunnels and where
the northern tunnel went. Given that the measurements are
roughly accurate, those tunnels, seen from above, they could

be an inverted cross. If two yards were between each of the
troops you'd have one point two miles, then two counts of one
point six miles the last being two miles."
"Also each direction is a total of three point two miles, the
number of the house is thirty two," said Giles.

"But that still does not mean anything," said Quentin. Another
member stated, "Then we need more information." Looking to her
watch, "And quickly, we may need a constant rapport if we are
to help the Knights against those vampires," said Clarissa.

Gregor looked surprised as the Angelic Slayer took form a few
yards from him. "It was suggested," she said, "That your
thoughts be sent to the council if an answer can be found in
time to stop the vampires."

Twilight and Blacken Blade walked into the room.

"You have a bit more time now, we charged along the platforms
of Rugby station then flew into the air. All trains have been
stopped from entering the station," announced Twilight.
Gregor was looking puzzled at both of them.
"The train with the vampires on, it is being held fifteen minutes
from the station," stated Blacken Blade.

General Gregor looked carefully at the walls for something,
anything that would help them. "On the ceiling, there are four
paintings of a horse," said Blacken Blade.

"General, when we entered the tunnel, and before we entered
this room, it was on the wall, "˜You are about to enter the room
of the Horse," said his scribe.

"Look around at the ceiling, each of the horses is upright above
an entry to each of the tunnels," said Blacken Blade.
"Can someone clean the dust from the floor of each tunnel
entry?" asked Angelic Slayer.

Doing as she asked, "This one has the word RED," said Twilight.
Rushing to another entrance she began to blow and wipe the
dust from the floor.
"Yes and this one! it has the word Green," she added, "Can you
pass that on, does it mean anything."

Studying what was written in the report, Clarissa was looking for
words or groups of words that could be an ambigram or an
anagram. She added some other words, startled she sat back.
"This bit I just added, forgive me if I am wrong, or barking up the
wrong tree here, but," said Clarissa.

"Let us worry about it if you are wrong or not," said Giles.
"Agreed, also, even if your thoughts do give the wrong answer it
could be your wrong thoughts that allow one of us to have the
right thoughts," said Quentin.

"Okay, they are in the room of the horse. A picture of a horse is
over each of two of the tunnels. Now about those tunnels, what
if there is no reason for them other than to depict that form of a
inverted cross?"
"Keep going with what you are saying," announced Angelic Slayer.

"The colours red and green, given what the room is. Those
colours represent two of the horses of the apocalypse, the
others being the non-colours of black and of white," said Clarissa.
"Going with that line of thinking," remarked Giles,

"Buffy has said to me on many occasions that she wants nothing
more than an end to this conflict." "And?" asked Quentin.
"She has hope!"
"Oh my God! Really, Oh my GOD!!" exclaimed Clarissa.

"I know that Kendra has a great belief in her religion, she has
faith. And Nikki's watcher wrote that Nikki would donate money
to needy causes," continued Giles.
"That has to be it! it has to be? The four horsemen, Faith, Hope

and Charity! They are of the Seven Seals, the seventh seal.. ..."
Angelic Slayer interrupted her, "Is when I, with the other angels
blow our trumpets, we are to announce the final judgement day."

In the horses room, "Why would the vampires cause the final
judgement day to happen? Unless a far more secret and darker
reason is yet to be discovered. It couldn't be that beating the
Kuh-rotan and making the vampires leaders in the war, they
would not be winners of the war would they?" asked Twilight.

Blacken Blade seemed to stare at nothing imparticular.
"The Kuh-rotan has just spoken to me. An end to the conflict of
them verses him is what they want, but for them to win they
would need to survive and judgement day means they would not.
He thinks another reason is being hidden from us."

"So what should be done?" asked Giles, "Continue with what we
were intending to do, end the vampires."
"I agree, not all is what it seems, today we stop the vampires,
one of the joys of not knowing the future. The word surprise has
great meaning," said Blacken Blade.

"Wait a minute, Clarissa has more to say," said Angelic Slayer.
"A connection of the two places, even though the Goddess was
a Roman deity. Just suppose she could still be coacted? She
was the Goddess Sulis Minerva, the Goddess of healing. A way

for the vampires to bring a return of the four horsemen.
Mention has been made of the two sides," said Clarissa,
"There are two places."

A family day out had been arranged for three ex pirates. The
Debt Collectors Carla, Twilight and their mother Blacken Blade.
They had gone to Bath to stop the vampires from raising the
Roman deity Sulis Minerva.
The Watchers Council had provided the information the vampires
were planning to promote the rise of the four horsemen of the
apocalypse.

Part 10 of The Debt Collector

Quentin, Giles, Mr. Edgeley and Clarissa sat waiting for news of
an attack. Each of them pondered last weeks concerns. Clarissa
was involved in a heated argument about what possible benefit
could be gained by wearing short rather than long socks.

Giles was trying to work out how much earth would be needed
to fill in the Hellmouth, where that amount of earth would come
from, and how long would it be before there was another
hellmouth. He wanted Buffy to live as long as she could.

So much had happened in the last seven days. Quentin
remembered how the previous week he and Mr. Edgeley had
been enquiring about providing the girls at the college with a
foods that were of benefit to them physically and mentally.

Two football clubs in London were assisting them, the Chelsea
football club and Tottenham Hotspur. He looked to the others
sat at the table. Looking to the clock on the wall, seeing it was
just past mid-night. "Of course, you do know why we feel so
down in the dumps right now? Don't you?" asked Clarissa.

Looking to her, no one had an answer for her.
"It is Monday morning," she said. "Oh that is very true," replied
Quentin, "Nothing could be worse than that."
"Great," replied Mr. Edgeley, "What a thing to say!, and using
sarcasm as well. Nothing like tempting the fates."

The secretary of the council walked into the room, "Your nine
o'clock appointment is here sir," she said to Quentin.
Two women walked into the room, without speaking to anyone
else they put several piles of documents on the table.
"Who are they?" asked Giles.

"Things just got worse. They are the dietary specialists I made
an appointment with last week. They are Miss Shauna Entworth
and Miss Clarabelle Minton," said Quentin.
"Ladies, I think Quentin should continue his meeting with you in
one of the other offices," said Giles, "And who has an
appointment at nine in the evening?"

"Ladies, if you wouldn't mind. My associate is right, they are
awaiting news that you shouldn't know about.. ..."
The sound of the general of the Knights of Byzantium echoed in
the room, "In five minutes the battles may start."

"What was that?" asked Clarabelle.
Shauna looked about the room. "Who was that? What battles?"
The Angelic Slayer suddenly appeared in the room. So did Carla.
Quentin raised himself from his chair, "Are either of you two
religious?" "I am, sort of," said Clarabelle, "Why?"

"These two are of the Gods, ours and theirs," said Quentin.
"Really, she doesn't look like she is one of ours, I thought they
would have black wings." "What?" asked Quentin.
"We are Satanists," said Clarabelle.

"Oh no."
"No," announced Carla, "They are both C. of E."
"What is going on here?" asked Shauna.
Carla and Angelic Slayer disappeared.
Pointing to where they were.
"What just happened?" asked Shauna.

No one answered so Clarissa stepped forward.
"I am one of the girls you are to make the diet for. I am being
prepared to help protect the world either as a vampire slayer or
as a watcher of the vampire slayers. At present two battles are
about to happen. Gods forces and the devils forces have joined

to stop the vampires. The vampires are trying to raise the four
horsemen of the apocalypse. That is a thought, if the vampires
do win, who will be their leader?" asked Clarissa.
"You are serious, aren't you?" asked Shauna.

"Yes," replied Giles. Shauna looked to Clarabelle. "All we have
done is go to church on a sunday morning, we sing and we pray.
That is all we do," said Clarabelle.
"Do you really battle the forces of evil?" Shauna looked to
Clarissa, "If you are being trained, then? Oh my, are you to
replace people who are already doing, the battles!"

"You are here to support them? We will go and make a snack for
you, the foods will give you an increased alertness, stamina to
stay alert and focussed. What I am saying is, thank you for
allowing us to help."

"That was easier than I thought it would be," said Quentin
pretending to wipe the sweat from his forehead.
"Something that Clarissa said, I hadn't even considered it. If
the vampires win? who will be their leader?" asked Giles.

Near the old Fosse way, a train stood motionless. Occasionally
something large flew above it.
Along the hedgerows movement occurred.
The light from the waxing moon caused odd shadows which
moved then stopped.

Each carriage of the train lurched forward, stopped then began
to continue on the way to Rugby station. The train slowly
increased momentum to ten miles an hour. As it approached the
outer limits of Rugby it started to pass through a small forest.
The vampires on the train began to make plans of their

departure from the train as a hail of arrows sliced into the walls
of the carriages, Grappling hooks embedded into the roof of
each carriage, then nothing happened. The vampires watched
the hooks in the walls. Unknown to them each of the hooks was

tied with heavy rope, as the train moved forward the ropes
became taught. Each end of the ropes was tied to a tree. The
vampires readying themselves for an attack were taken by
surprise as the roof and the sides of the carriages were ripped

from the train. Suddenly in the open with nothing to give them
protection, the vampires could only watch as the archers of
Byzantium rose from the ground and began firing into them.
Within ten seconds nothing moved.

Twilight's message that all was quiet at Bath was received with
mixed emotions. Mr. Edgeley thought it was good none of them
had got there. However Giles was concerned because none had
got there.
"If they are not there, where are they?" he asked Mr. Edgeley.

Quentin rang his contact of the information desk, asking for
details of the evening train to Bath. Waiting only a few minutes,
he was told that the last four carriages had been unhitched at
a siding near Salisbury. Then taken to wait at Salisbury station
for the mornings train to Exeter.

"Why would vampires knowingly get off a train in the daylight?"
asked Clarissa.
"Are there any tunnels on that route?" asked Giles.
"What I meant was why would the vampires go there? As in
what is at or near Salisbury?" asked Clarissa.

"Two things automatically come to mind, the first is that of
Stonehenge, the other being the cathedral," said Mr. Edgeley.
"Okay, what could be at Stonehenge and what could be at the
cathedral?" asked Quentin,

"Mr. Giles if you and Clarissa see what the cathedral may have,
Mr. Edgeley and I will consider what properties the stone circle
may possess."
Clarissa used the internet to get several pictures of the
cathedral. They spent a hour or so just looking.
"Nothing comes to mind, what about you Clarissa?"

"I'd like to see the depictions on the entrance wall to the
cathedral, the things I would like to have seen are the
gargoyles. They are said to ward off evil, yet this place has
none that I can see."
"If we go with that, are they inviting evil in? Were they purposely
left off so that vampires could go in? Is there a link between
gargoyles and vampires?" asked Giles.

Giles went tohe window, looking out to the darkened streets.
"Penny for your thoughts?" "Oh, hello Buffy, any news?"
"All is quiet now, anything from Bath?"
"Nothing," said Giles, "It makes me wonder though? Is this the
quiet before, or after the storm?"

In England what had been found of the vampires was dealt with
yet many unanswered questions remained.
Days then weeks had passed, Buffy was almost saddened that
her relatives had gone. Strange though, Buffy didn't feel as
though this was the end of the day, more as though.
"˜The sun was about to rise, that its light was to be seen on the
horizon'. Or as Giles would say,
"This is the Twilight of a new experience."

Part 11 of The Debt Collector

Buffy and Giles started to renew their lives in Sunnydale, Buffy
told Willow what had happened in that land over the sea, in fact
they were off to the mall together. Willow wanted to get a book
about the Roman Bathhouse in Bath.

Taking a bus to the mall Willow was full of anticipation, even in
the bookshop she was excitedly looking at the books, trying to
decide which one to buy. While Buffy liked being with her, Willow
was displaying the fervour that was just a little overpowering
was just a little overpowering.

Buffy made an excuse and went to look at the historical texts.
Not expecting to find what she wanted, it was though quieter
than being with Willow. Not realising it, she had been reading
parts of the books for over an hour.
"What are you reading?" asked Willow.
"Huh? what? oh, hi. Just curious to know about my relatives."

"Ways To Trace Your Family Tree," said Willow.
"That's the closest I could find, I know the relatives I want to
start from, it is their sons or daughters I am curious about," said
Buffy, "What book did you get Will?"

"Not what I expected, the closest I could find is Classic
Architecture In England's History. At least this has a bit about
everything," said Willow.
"You can always ask Giles, he will help you get more books."
"I nearly said he should know, he was probably there. Only some
of the people I met recently, they were there," said Buffy.

Neither of them spoke on the bus home, both were to interested
in the books. Walking into the school library the next morning
they were curious to find Giles with several books on the table.
"I'm not really surprised to see you looking at books, yes I am.
What is it?, that you doing?" asked Buffy.

"Seeing if any of these books have a mention about the Debt
Collector," said Giles, "Two reasons, one is that I am interested.
The other is just a bit of curiosity, there was a report of a bush
fire that occurred in Australia recently, it mentioned about a
train that went into a forest, but never came out."

"What happened to it?" asked Buffy.
"That is the curious part," replied Giles, "Nothing was been
found of the train. What may just be coincidental is, that was
the same night as that train to Bath."
"Don't say it, you want me to go to Australia?" asked Buffy

"Buffy! hi, I just met this person outside, I think it is you she
wants to see," said Willow.
"What makes you think that?"
"I saw her arrive, on a winged black horse!"

Looking to Giles, "Its Carla!" Buffy excitedly exclaimed. Running
to meet her she suddenly stopped in her tracks.
"What? Why are you here?"
"My sister was allowed to have some rest, as long as I was
willing to take her place," said Twilight.

"Willow this is Carla's sister, her elder sister," said Buffy.
Willow saw Twilight's unhappy reaction.
"Hi," she stated, "I guess a year or two means nothing when
you are about four hundred and fifty." Twilight smiled.
"Why are you here?" asked Giles.

"The train that vanished by the fire, I have been there. I felt
some of the vampires had been there, only their scent was
fading. I also felt something far worse."
She looked to Buffy, "I always thought it odd that my sister
liked you, yet now I feel as she did. If you would come with me,
we can spend more time together," said Twilight.

Buffy looked to Giles, "Will there be a problem?"
"There wasn't when you became a friend to Carla, I am not
aware of any misgivings just because the Debt Collector has a
new name," said Giles.
"Buffy, you have been given the use of the same winged
unicorn," said Twilight.

Getting off the unicorn Buffy breathed in, "Bloody hell it's hot
here, where are we?"
"Just outside Northam in Western Australia. Its about seventy
miles from the coast, towards the west," said Twilight

"Is this where the train vanished from?"
"Yeah, thought you should see it first, before we go to the next
place. I know what we are up against, rather than tell you it
would be best if you saw them for yourself."

As Buffy got onto her winged unicorn, "Don't get attached, we
will need something that is far sturdier soon," said Twilight.
Rising into the sky they flew towards the setting sun, as the
features of the land passed by underneath them Buffy began to

feel the unicorn change. Its skin started to feel colder, smoother
on her skin. Buffy looked to Twilight, then to what she was on.
"Winged dragons! what are we up against?" asked Buffy.
"Down there in the field, there they .. oh crap, there is to many
now," said Twilight, "Look at what we face, then call for help."

Buffy looked at the fields below. Seeing dark shapes covering a
vast area As she watched, more darkened figures seemed to
appear, Deftly causing the dragon to glide closer to the earth
Buffy saw the figures.

Turning to Twilight, "They are gargoyles! thousands of them.
Good thing they are statues."
"Look closer, watch them," said Twilight.
Buffy looks to the statues then to Twilight, circling over the
statues Buffy saw Twilight waving to her from afar. Directing her
dragon to Twilight, Buffy felt the need to look to the ground.

Seeing a thirty foot high statue of a winged gargoyle below
Twilight. Buffy stared at it, as the dragon rose to get away from
it. Noticing a movement to the side Buffy looked. The several
thousand gargoyles were moving towards the big statue.

The gargoyles started to hop, run, jump and glide towards it. As
she watched the gargoyles knelt and began to worship the big
statue. They all suddenly stood, seemingly jumping for joy,
dancing around the giant statue.

Buffy's dragon moved further away, unable to vary her stare
Buffy grimaced as what she thought was a big statue. It began
to smile!. Not knowing how to silence her gasp she heard a loud
screeching, Buffy saw them rise into the sky.
Following at a safe distance.

The gargoyles began to veer away, out of eyesight. Going as
close to Twilight as she dared, Buffy watched her she pointed
to the Horizon. Seeing a dark figure heading their way, Buffy
noticed Twilight start to smile. "I would rather be seen as an
enemy to them than I would to your people," she called.

Flying on a dragon was the Angelic Slayer, she swept around
Buffy and Twilight.
"Thank you," she called to both of them.

Twilight and Buffy, still sat on the dragons as they flew a bit
higher in the sky. They felt a warmth as the Angelic Slayer
veered away towards the ocean.
They stared in awe as the calmness of the ocean around Perth

was broken. The Angelic Slayer left the comfort of the dragon,
slowly descending below the waters surface.
Looking down to the earth Buffy and Twilight could see all the
rivers began to glow.

*Light from the sun suddenly covered the horizon, it spread to
cover the land.*
Flying to the ground they saw the thousands of gargoyles
beginning to appear, standing on the countryside. Their leader
stood in front. Ready for battle, they covered all the land that
could be seen.

Feeling her heart beat increasing its speed Buffy looks to
Twilight. Twilight returns the look, then stares wide eyed behind
them. Buffy quickly looks, covering all the lands to the horizon
are the Armed Forces of Byzantium.

A tapestry a wickerwork of shadow covered them as several
thousand winged unicorns flew above, then as one the soldiers
started to move forward slapping their leather uniforms, causing
waves of sound to appear in the sky.

The Angelic Slayer appeared her body glowing. As Buffy and
Twilight gazed at her four others appeared, each of them glowing.
The distorted sound waves became visible.
The armed forces stopped.

Spreading their wings those angelic ones raised their arms to the
sky above them. Pointing to the sound waves, pulling them down
towards the gargoyles. Then directing the sound waves at the
gargoyles feet.

The earth beneath their feet to burst, exploded it pushes the
gargoyles upwards, off the world. The gargoyles flew upward,
their bodies bursting into flames as each of them went to the
outer reaches of the atmosphere.

As the last and largest of the gargoyle's goes into the outer
atmosphere its body explodes, the fire spreading its flames in the
heavens. In awe of what they had just witnessed both Buffy and
Twilight bowed to all of those of Byzantium.

Even when they returned to Giles and Willow neither of them
could speak. They hadn't even noticed that what they were
riding had returned to what they were before being dragons.
It was several hours before either of them could repeat what
they had witnessed.

Those monkey brains.

Part 12 of The Debt Collector

At the end of the school day Willow, Buffy and Twilight wandered
out of the library. Willow described to Twilight where they were
and why there was so many people. Buffy was trying to talk but
the sounds of the words didn't happen.

Principle (Commandant) Snyder was prowling the corridors,
exacting his self imposed supremacy on the students. He saw his
favourite target, so, silently he crept towards her. His eyes
began to glint, he could see that she was vulnerable.

Suddenly he stood in direct confrontation to Buffy, an evil smile
adorned his face. He was about to chastise Buffy when Twilight
made her presence known. Snyder sneered, looked at her then
seeing the fire in her eyes remembered Carla.

"I will honour what my sister said, so leave where you are now,
or I will cause you to leave." Snyder meekly moved aside. Willow
was astounded, thinking of the effect Buffy had unknowingly
caused. Twilight had been willing to be seen as a friend to Buffy!

Thankfully, Willow didn't feel the need to help protect her friend,
instead, she now allowed herself to welcome Twilights presence
with hers and Buffy's. As they walked into Buffy's house, Willow
told Joyce how delicate the two of them felt. Even though as
Willow admitted to Joyce she didn't know what it was.

It was almost seven thirty that evening before they felt anywhere
close to being normal. Joyce and Willow had supplied them with
mugs of hot chocolate, several bowls of pop-corn and plates of
finger food. Willow and Mrs. Summers were starting to run out of
ideas of what food to give them next.

Only to allow more thinking time Joyce took in two bags of Marsh
mellows. Back in the kitchen Willow suggested, "We could try
home-made lemonade without any sugar, that'll get a reaction."
"Willow!" exclaimed Joyce laughing, "We want them to speak."

"Is there any more?"
Surprised, Joyce and Willow turned. They faced Buffy smiling to
them. "Twilight just became addicted to Marshmellows, is there
any more?"

"Oh I know, Xander kept a couple of bags behind the drinks."
Opening the fridge door Willow produced two bags of frozen
Marshmellows.
"Buffy, tell her we need to defrost them first," said her mother.

Buffy turned to go into the front room, only to see Twilight facing
her. Twilight's eyes lit up as she saw the two bags. She put two
of the frozen Marshmellows into her mouth. They all heard the
sounds coming from Twilight, but didn't recognise them. Confused
they looked to each other, then Buffy began to smile, tears ran
from her eyes as she burst into fits of laughter.

Taking a deep breath in, "That is what trying to talk with two
frozen Marshmellows in your mouth sounds like."
Seeing the funny side of what just happened they each tried a
frozen Marshmellow.

By ten thirty that evening Buffy and Twilight had told Willow and
Joyce most of what happened that day. "I just know I am going
to have the most amazing dreams tonight," said Willow. Looking
at the clock she said she had better go home.

Following her from the house Twilight beckoned her.
"Willow? if you want, I'll give you a lift home." Her winged horse
appeared on the lawn.
Joyce could only imagine what a winged dragon could look like.

As she watched and saw the winged horse leave them, a vision
of what the dragon could have looked like appeared to her.
Facing Buffy she announced her astonishment.
"Having flown on those winged dragons, flying on a winged
unicorn seems almost the normal thing to do."

Buffy shrugged her shoulders to her mother then went into the
front room.
"Buffy? are you going out on patrol tonight?"
"Hadn't thought of that, but I suppose so."

"That girl is she like that other girl, Carla?" "Oh, sorry mom, I
thought I had told you. She is Carla's sister."
"Is she working for the devil?" "Yes," replied Buffy.
"That's what I thought, the winged horse made me think that,
do you like those horses?"

"I have the use of a winged Unicorn," said Buffy.
"That's better, tell me do you like the unicorn?" asked Joyce.
"Yes, it is great," said Buffy eagerly.
"Oh good, I won't have to worry about you wanting to learn how
to drive!"

"I'd be a good driver," said Buffy, "It wasn't that long ago I had
to learn the controls to one of those massive container ships,"
said Buffy proudly.
"You did? really! Where is the ship now?" asked Joyce.

"Oh, er, it sank."
"And how long were you at the controls?"
"A minute or two."
"Need I say more," said Joyce.

Buffy was sat on the sofa, waiting for Twilight to return. Hearing
her walk in Buffy jumped up, then went to meet her. Twilight was
about to close the door. "Hold the door open," said Buffy,
"Before I met Carla, every evening I would go out and patrol the
neighbourhood and some of the cemeteries.

Just in case a vampire or two was lurking about. I was going to
do it again, do you want to come with me?"
"You have got it so easy," said Twilight, "Do you ever have to do
anything that you don't like?"
"School! I could do with out having to go to school."

Looking up the stairs, "We are going out for a bit of a patrol mom,
be back later," called Buffy. Ushering Twilight outside she closed
the door. "Come on we'll have a look at the town."
They cheerily went towards the town, playing tricks on each other.

"Its a long time since I've done this."
"Done what?" asked Buffy.
"Walked anywhere, it is quite fun."
"Never thought of it before, usually when I go out it is by myself,
it is boring when you're alone. When I got to the graveyard I'd
usually meet Angel, then it would be fun."

"Because he is a vampire or because you like him?" asked Twilight,
"When you walk together, would he walk in front or behind you?"
"At my side, most of the time," said Buffy. Noticing Twilight smile
Buffy asked her what she had said.

"Oh no, not like that, it's just that you can't best a bit on the
side. There is one thing I am curious about though, how close
does a vampire have to be before you can feel them."
"I'm not sure, I've never bothered to work it out, why?"
asked Buffy

"It is just that there is two vampires behind us," said Twilight.
"There is? how long have you felt them?" asked Buffy.
"Since the end of your street."
Buffy looked at her, "I haven't felt a thing. Oh well."

"I dare say we will find out who they are soon, there is six others
ahead of us."
"Where?" asked Buffy.
"Along here a bit."

Running quietly they got behind them. Twilight pointed,
"Who is that?"
"That is Cordelia, I don't know why she is here though," said
Buffy, "I didn't know he was a vampire."
"Come on do your thing, get rid of them," said Twilight.

"It's alright, she knows I am the slayer. So Cordelia, why did you
ask a vampire to be out side with you, as if I didn't know."
"It isn't something you would do is it?" asked Cordelia.
"Of course not, I'm a good girl," said Buffy.

Aware that Cordelia and Twilight were looking at her, even the
vampires stared at her.
"Ah, yes Angel, hmm."

Twilight stepped forward, with a flick of her wrist the vampires
turned to dust.
"Wow! can you do that?" asked Cordelia looking to Buffy.
"You'd best get in here Buffy, those others are running towards
us," stated Twilight.

As the vampires ran passed them Twilight shouted stop to them.
She began to smile, flames rose in her eyes as she looked to one
of the vampires.
"No! Wait!" Buffy held her shoulder, "That is Angel."

"Buffy, glad you are ok. We weren't sure. That Debt Collector has
gone to her grave."
Angel went passed them, he helped Cordelia to her feet.
"So, he is Angel very odd," said Twilight, "A vampire with a soul,
it is as if the soul surrounds the vampire Angelus. When the soul
is weak Angelus can be reborn, then he doesn't want his soul."

Facing Buffy, "You want your soul, I'd like to have a soul, yet
Angelus has one he'd like to get rid off."
"Buffy? who is she?" asked Cordelia.
"People this is Twilight, a distantive."

"She is? What?" asked Cordelia.
"My great grandmother about eighteen times removed. Angel,
Spike, she is The Debt Collector."
Spike and Angel dropped to their knees. Twilight walked to right
up to them.

"Stand up, you are both safe. Considering the roles you will both
play in the next apocalypse you are safe, from me."
"What should? What do we do?" asked Angel.
"Keep out of my way, wouldn't want you to be in the wrong place
at the wrong time. I wouldn't want to kill you by mistake, would I."

I certainly think it's a crime...and just plain rude...that such a fine display of fanfiction hasn't received any member feedback. Well, for what it's worth, this is some good stuff right there.

Hoping to see more of this in the future.

Twilight knew what was to be done, the nights adventure
needed some careful planning to stop Angel meeting them.

Part 13 of The Debt Collector

Giles had been in the staff room, walking into the library he saw
seven people by the bookshelves, he almost got excited then he
recognised who it was.
"Hey Giles," Xander called to him, "This book about witchcraft is
no good. Get rid of it."

"What is wrong with the book?" asked Giles.
"There's no pictures of naughty nymphs in it," replied Xander.
Twilight walked near to Giles, she courteously lowered her head
to him, smiling as she did so yet knowingly allowing him to see
her smile.

Walking towards Xander, "I am so unhappy, would you like to put
a smile on my face?"
Xander thought all his birthdays had come at once,
"Yes, yes I'd love to!"

"Thank you, seven is my lucky number, and I only killed six
people last night."
She began to stare at Xander.
"No, no, not that, I didn't mean...., no, oh God."

He jumped over the railing, pushing the chairs out of his way he
scrambled to the door, it was then that he heard the laughter,
nervously looking to Twilight then to Willow, Buffy and Giles.
"Very clever, thanks a lot, you rotten sods."

"Now don't get me wrong, it is nice to see so many people in
here. Are you all staying here today?" asked Giles.
"Not sure, any plans for today Twilight?" asked Buffy.
"Not today but tonight you, me and Angel will be going to LA.
That is as long as you don't mind giving Angel a lift."
Twilight smiled to her. Buffy tried not to smile, without success.

The horse and the Unicorn landed in an alleyway in LA, getting
of them they went to the end of an alley.
"What are we here to do?" asked Angel.
"Several vampires are following two people, a brother and sister,
the people are to be kept safe. Two of the vampires will need my

special attention, you are here to help the people, if you can try
not to get to close to them as you will meet them again in a few
years," said Twilight.
"What are their names?" asked Buffy.
Twilight thought about her answer.

"No, it is best that you do not know."
Looking along the road.
"Here they come, we'd best get out of sight. When the vampires
have gone past, then we follow them."
"How long for?" asked Angel.

"A trap is being set for the vampires, those two don't know it
yet but other vampires have their friends trapped. When the
time is right Buffy and I will attack."
Watching as a group of six vampires went passed the alley
Twilight signalled for them to wait.

When the vampires were ten seconds ahead Twilight asked Buffy
if she could still feel them.
"Yes," replied Buffy.
"Then we go, just keep to the shadows, I don't want them to
know of us yet," said Twilight.

Doing as Twilight told them they kept to the shadows as they
trailed the vampires, they also kept sight of the two people.
Twilight signalled for them to crouch down. "In the yard over the
road, that is where the humans expect their friends to be waiting."

"Are you going to make them all become dust?" asked Buffy.
"Not this time, I don't want to scare them, not until after I have
spoken with them. Angel, stay here don't let the humans see you,
if any vampire run away, get them. Buffy watch for my signal."

Watching Twilight walk behind the vampires Angel asked Buffy
who she thought the people are.
"I have know idea, chances are that they fight vampires though."
"The good guys?"

"Which is odd, a Debt Collector protecting them? Asking us not
to scare them." Buffy looked at Angel. "Yeah, its odd," he replied.
Twilight followed them into the yard. The humans shouted for
their friends, then realised they were alone.

"Oh dear, this does not look good for you. The six of us against
just two of you," said a vampire.
Twilight signalled for Buffy pointing to where she should go.
"Best make that six against three," said Twilight.
Buffy ran as fast as she could, she went to stand near Twilight.

"Make that six against four," stated Buffy.
One of the vampires turned to face her.
"You! What are you doing here," telling the others, "It's her,
the slayer is here."

"What about me?"
"Yes, she is the Debt Collector," said Buffy.
The vampires stepped back, as one of the humans despatched
two vampires.

Buffy threw a stake at another then pouncing forward, a deftly
placed kick thrust the stake through the vampires chest the
stake bouncing on the concrete as the grains of dust began to
litter the ground.

"And now the odds are in our favour."
Buffy attacked another, the human missed his target but
Twilight grabbed him, pulling him close it burst into flames.
"Look one of them is getting away!" said the human.
Twilight faced him, "No he isn't."

As they watched a shadowy figure pulled him to the ground, and
then there was one.
"Buffy, go and get him wait for me on the roof, I will be there in
a minute," said Twilight.
"Thanks, from the both of us. But who are you?" asked Gunn.

"You don't know me, but the one who was in the alley you will
meet him, in a few years."
The girl looked to Twilight. "How did you do that?"
"What? make him burst into flames? My stare of Penance. Now I
must leave. I do know you won't try to follow me."

"You helped me and my sister, if you don't want us to follow you
we won't," said Gunn.
"You couldn't even if you wanted to," said Twilight.
The winged black horse appeared next to her.

As Twilight got onto the horse it rose off the ground, "Before I
go, load your cross bows. As you go into your den two vampires
are sitting about halfway done the stairs, your friends are being
held there by more vampires, in the confusion your friends will be
able to kill them."

About to tell them farewell, "Gunn, in a few years time when you
meet Fred, say hello to her."
Twilight began to rise then disappeared.
Gunn loaded his cross bows then went down towards the

basement. Swiftly pulling the door open, as soon as he saw the
two vams sat on the steps he fired the crossbows, hearing
the pandemonium that followed he went down the steps.
Looking to his sister.

"I think we should try and find out who those others are?"
"OK," she said, "What were they called?"
"A vampire slayer and a debt collector," said Gunn.

Part 14 of The Debt Collector

Buffy and Willow were enjoying themselves, Willow persuaded
Buffy's mum to see the library and if he happened to be there,
Mr. Giles. Part of the plan was for Buffy to make sure that he
was there. So she kept him busy asking questions about
The Master.

Poor Giles, he had no idea that he was there for a reason;
Willow and Buffy's enjoyment. They thought it was great
keeping the two adults together. But, like with all attempts at
matchmaking, there comes a time when you just have to let
them get to it.

So while Buffy and Willow were taking a breather after all their
hard work, listening to them talking to each other.
"Isn't that nice," said Xander, "He is probably whispering into
her ear right now."
"While he nibbles on it," added Cordelia.

"Oh gross!" remarked Buffy.
Cordelia winked to Xander. "I think you two should be proud
with yourselves, bringing those two together."
"Cordelia! thank you," said Willow.

"I should hope they will thank you tonight, that is if they aren't
to busy getting all jiggy with each other," continued Cordelia.
Willow gasped then looked at Buffy, "Didn't think of that, euww."
"Can't you just see it? when they've been dating for a few days.

They'll be playing, can my tongue touch your tonsils while Buffy
is in the room."
"Or when Buffy comes down for breakfast."
Cordelia smiled to Xander. Buffy interrupted them. "XANDER!"

"Cordy would you like to get a coffee with me?" asked Xander.
"Ok, and when we get bored of that, we can come back here.
You will still be here won't you?" asked Cordelia,
"Of course they'll be here, you don't think they'll leave do you."

Cordelia laughed, turning to face Buffy as she did.
"Oh, there's a thought!"
"What," said Buffy grumpily.
"Nothing really, just that your name will be Buffy Giles," she said.

Turning, about to laugh. Twilight was there, right in front of her.
"Where is Buffy?"
Cordelia pointed over her shoulder, "Just there."
Not saying anything Twilight went to Buffy.

Cordelia looked to Xander, "God! what is it with her? I get the
wiggins every time she is near."
"Not surprising, as scary as Angelus can be, even he was
scared of her."

"Who is she then?" asked Cordelia.
"One of the devil's ten favourite friends," said Xander.
"So how come she is friends with the slayer?" asked Cordelia.
"Yeah, weird huh."

"Buffy."
"Twilight! How's things?" asked Willow.
"They are about to get busy."
"Now? we can't go now," said Buffy.
"Why ever not?" asked Joyce.

"We don't have to go just yet, when it gets dark though,"
said Twilight.
"Where will you be taking my daughter tonight?"
"Not too far from here, to Seattle there are some naughty
vampires trying to pass themselves of as humans."

"Anything I can do?" asked Giles.
"Not really, well maybe give her a sick note, we could be gone
a few days."
"A few days, what are those vampires doing?" asked Giles.

"Passing themselves of as drug lords, running various protection
rackets, oh, and slavery."
"Slavery? what would they do with slaves?" asked Joyce.
"Drain their blood."

"Are you sure there is nothing I can do?" asked Giles.
"Well there is something, but it won't be pleasant."
"Ok, what is it?"
"These slaves, where did they come from? How many is there?"
asked Twilight.

"And if I find that out? what then?" asked Giles.
"If they are found, alive," she gazed to Buffy, "I am sure
someone will want them to find the way home."
Buffy smiled.

"So the sooner we get there the better," said Twilight.
Looking to Buffy, "Do you know how to make that work?"
"The computer? sure, why?"
"When we get there, finding what area they are in will help,
finding what area we are in will help as well."

"So if we go there now, at least we'll be able to see, find a
place to go," suggested Buffy.
"I know of a place, there's a certain part of the city people
don't go into. Sis was there, caused a bit of a scene when she
was seen.

Those places are empty now, I can get us there just don't know
where there is."
"What is the city?" asked Buffy.
"Seattle."

Standing on a roof top, looking over the city, "So have you any
idea where they are?" asked Buffy.
"Pick a place where people selling drugs are likely to be, and
we go there," said Twilight.

Buffy and Twilight spent the night travelling around the city,
they saw plenty of people selling drugs, just not the right
people. The ones they found were human.
Sat in the rooms they had decided to use while they were there.

They had just started making a map of the area and the places
they had been to. They were about to get some rest when a
couple of people entered the room.
"We don't want any night lovers here."
Buffy smirked at Twilight. "Lovers," remarked Buffy.
"People who go out at night," said the girl.

"If we want to go out at night that is our choice, not yours.
How did you know about us anyway?" asked Buffy.
"This place, it is full of squatters. There's a few here who run
the place and no pushers are allowed."

"You should be safe then," said Twilight, "We are not pushers,
we are here to find out where they are, and kill them."
"If you are then that is ok, I take it that you are new to this
town?" asked the girl.
"What makes you think that?"

"This place was said to be haunted, nothing happened for a few
years then people started to move in."
"Guess we'll make those stories circulate again," said Twilight
disappearing them appearing the other side of the room. The girl
was suddenly standing at the other end of the room.

"So? you are a ghost are you?" asked Buffy.
"No Buffy, she's fast but she isn't a ghost," said Twilight.
"What do you mean I am fast? Did you see me?" asked the girl.
"I know everything there is to know about you two, we could
help each other. My name is Twilight, this is Buffy."

"Ok, I am Max this is Alex. What makes you think we can or
want we would want to help?"
"Beof what you both are."
Twilight held her hand to them spreading her digits wide.

"And what letter comes before Y?"
"Ok, so you know what we are, what are you?" asked Alex.
"First, about the ones we are after. They come from Fene Stoll,
in Rumania. A wooded place near town of Transylvania.

Ever heard people use the greeting or the farewell fe "˜nes tol?"
asked Twilight.
"I did, once, why?" asked Alex.
"Cos that is would have been one of them," announced Twilight.

Part 15 of The Debt Collector

"Sounds like a place to go tonight, about 7pm?" asked Buffy
"Where is it?"
Alex went to the window, "See that tall thing, that's the Space
Needle, that"˜s the place to go."
"We can go there now if you'd like," suggested Max.

"No point, vampires don't go into the open during the day,
usually," said Twilight.
"Vampires? Mind you, they'll probably fit in quite well here. Still
we need some transport for you, I've got my motorbike."

Twilight smiled. "We brought our own, they are near here."
"Ok, tell us what they are, we'll pass the word to leave them
alone. What are they?" asked Max.
"Don't worry about them, they are invisible," said Twilight,
"Meet here at dusk?"

Agreeing to the meet, Max and Alex left the room, as they
walked along the corridor. "So? do we trust them?" asked Alex.
Max looked at their room. "They come here from another city,
to kill bad guys in our city," Max shrugged her shoulders,
"Sounds good to me."

As agreed, when the darkness covered the city they met.
"So what's the plan?" asked Alex.
"We go there, see if they are there. If we need to, we wait.
When they are there they get killed, all except for one,"
said Buffy.

"Why not all of them?" asked Alex.
"We need to know where the others are," said Twilight,
"Speaking of which, have you got that stuff?" Buffy showed
her the holy water. "All present and correct."

"Come on then, lets go to the roof first," said Twilight.
Alex ran up the stairs ahead of them. On the roof he had a
look around, but not seeing anything went back to the door.
"I bet you didn't see anything?" asked Buffy, "That don't mean
to say there's nothing here though."

"Alright I didn't see anything, what you gonna do, pull
something out your hat?"
Buffy directed their attention to Twilight who called their rides,
telepathically.

"Before you start talking, just get on."
"She means you," said Max.
After circling the Needle about halfway up, they went down
into a quiet alley.

"It might be a good idea if you keep close to us," said Buffy.
"It's ok, we can hold our own," said Max.
"That isn't the problem. Tell you what, you point out which
ones are the vampires." Alex and Max looked to each other.

"Ok, how will we know if the ones you go for are vampires, you
could get anyone we wouldn't know," said Max.
"True, but Buffy would," stated Twilight.
Twilight went across the square towards the Needle, waiting
until she was halfway there Buffy followed.

"If anyone has a go at us, don't hesitate to join in."
Causing the vampires to fall as dust, several more came from
around the side. Joining in the fun Max and Alex gave a good
account of themselves. Seeing Buffy drag a person towards
then, Alex asked her if that was a human who got in the way.

"No, this is a vampire, it is just that we want to know where
the others like them are," said Buffy.
Walking along side Buffy as they went into the alley, they
jumped aside as Buffy flipped the vampire onto its back then
slammed it onto a wall, letting it drop to the ground.

"What are you going to do now?" asked Max.
"I've got a few choices," replied Buffy, "I could say what we
are, I could put my cross on its arm moving it up the arm until
it tells us what we want to know. I could drop the cross into
its mouth or let Twilight loose on it."

"Which way is the quickest?" asked Max.
"Letting my friend have a go but the quickest way or the
slowest way makes no difference, as long as we get the right
answer."

Thinking about what was about to happen.
"You'd best cover your noses. This way is a bit smelly. There
you are, wondered where you had gone," said Buffy.
"The rotten sod shot me."

Twilight lifted her top with both hands to reveal the six bullet
holes in her stomach. As Max stared at her in disbelief as her
body pushed the bullets out. Then the skin healed over the
holes. While the bullets were kicked further into the alley Buffy
dropped her cross on the vampires arm.

"Oh sod this, could take to long," said Buffy looking to Max.
Dropping the cross into its mouth, saying, "When I take this
out, you tell me where the rest of you usually go?"
Of course the vampire said nothing, so when Buffy took the
cross out of its mouth the second time she announced.

"Next time I let go of the necklace, so where are the others?"
Once the vampire had told them where they were, Max showed
them the place. Pointing next to the river. "Old warehouses,
they stopped being used until that lot moved in.

People said if you go in you don't come out, now they call the
place Terminal docks."
"Sounds like my kind of place," said Twilight, "If you lot want
to stay away, that is alright."

So there she was, stood by herself, at the front of the
dockyard complex.
"Didn't think you were going in by yourself did you?"
Twilight turned, there stood Max, Buffy and Alex.
"Buffy, you'd best tell the where I am from, so that they
understand."

Buffy was about to tell them when Twilight went towards the
doors, her body bursting into flames.
"Maybe it is not such a good idea to follow her," said Buffy.
Their attention was suddenly directed at the building as red
light erupted from every opening.

Standing, looking at the building, Twilight walked towards them.
"How many more places are here?"
"Two more," replied Max.
"What happened in there?" asked Alex.

"To cut a long story short, she just gave them all a one way
ticket to see her boss," said Buffy.
"And that is?" he asked.
"The Kuh-rotan, or to you the devil."

Directing them to the last building Twilight went into the second
one by herself, just before she entered the building her body
burst into flames again. Having plenty of light to see where they
were going the three of them went straight into the warehouse.

They had four of them cornered, unfortunately these had
machine guns. Every time that Buffy, Alex or Max made a move
a hail of bullets tried to greet them.
"How long should I wait for them?" asked Twilight.
Looking behind them Twilight was leant against a crate.

"Right, Max, Alex, you two run as fast as you can to each of
the crates, draw their fire. Buffy, you look as though you are
about to move, I'll cause a few shadows on the windows behind
them, then when they are all busy I will take their weapons.

Doing as Twilight suggested and as they were told to.
"Right you lot, the time is up," stated Twilight.
Twilightsat back, cleaning her finger nails as the three of them
convinced the vampires that not being a vampire was the
thing to do.

Walking out of the building Buffy suggested to Max that if they
wanted they had a new place to move into.
"What about you two?" asked Alex.
The horse and the unicorn appeared, jumping onto them Twilight
and Buffy waved goodbye then flew off, into the night sky.

Carla was returned. The Kuh-rotan knew something was wrong
with Buffy, so he sent two others to Twilight, to find out what
wrong.

The Debt Collector Part 16

They went to the classrooms, looking through the windows. Not
seeing her they wandered into the library, and had a quick there.
"That is odd, she isn't here either," said Twilight.
"I know what you mean, she does grow on you after a while,"
said Carla, "Can you see that other one, is her friend here?"

"No sign of her either," replied Twilight.
Deciding to go to her home, they went towards the exit.
"And where do you two think you are going," stated Snyder.
Without turning, "Oh I remember that voice, can I say hello to
him?" asked Carla.

"As long as you are nice to him," stated Twilight
"But of course," Carla replied.
She turned and smiled to Snyder, darting forward she covered
the ground between them in an instant.

"You know, sooner or later our time here will cease to be, I
hope I find out at least a week before. I would love to play
with you. One piece at a time. Do not, speak, to, me, again!"
They turned to walk out of the school.

"I think I've been on this world to long, I almost thought you
were going to be nice to that little rodent," said Twilight.
"I was nice to him, he is still alive isn't he?" asked Carla.
Twilight looked back at him, "Just checking."

Walking towards Buffy's house they took notice of where
they were walking. Even as they neared her house they had
felt nothing. Then as they approached the front door, it opened.
"Carla! Twilight, oh I am glad you are here, something is wrong
with Buffy, Willow is with her right now.

If you can find out what is wrong please tell me, I've got to go
to the gallery, but I'll be back in an hour or two," said Joyce.
Going into the house, they looked about.
"She is upstairs, in her room," called Joyce.

Acknowledging her they went up to her room, quietly standing
in the doorway they saw that Willow was trying to console her.
"What are those books?" Willow turned to face them.
"Witchcraft, I am trying to find out if she has been cursed. I'm
not having any luck though."

Looking over her shoulder, "If you read that aloud, what is
written here, it should work," said Carla.
Twilight passed her hands over Buffy.
"She has not been cursed."

"Then what is wrong with her?" asked Carla. Willow turned.
"Look I am glad you two are here. If there is something wrong
with her, what could it be. She has more power than most
people so a virus would not affect her."

"What sort of things are wrong?" asked Carla.
"She gets tired quickly, she told me on the walk here that she
felt worn out," said Willow, "And she said that she slept for six
hours last night and she's asleep now."

Buffy started to talk in her sleep.
"Listen closely, we might get a few answers," said Twilight.
Buffy began to mumble. Willow listened intently, "Oh! She said
that her watcher has done it to her."

Twilight looked to Carla, "Oh he did, did he."
As they were leaving the room, Carla looked to Willow "You
should not be here alone."
Blacken Blade soon appeared in the room.
"Mum can you watch over them please?" asked Carla.

She motioned to Willow.
"Only you can touch her, no one else will be allowed to."
Blacken Blade stood at the foot of the bed, her unsheathed
sword glowing.

Snyder was talking to Giles when Twilight and Carla entered the
library. Stopping in the doorway Giles looked at them, he and
Snyder went into Giles's office.
Cordelia and Xander were sitting at the table, looking busy.

Carla walked up to them, she wanted to see what they were
reading. She turned the book Xander was looking at the right
way up. Twilight went into Giles's office, seeing that Snyder had
his back towards him she told him to leave.

He tried to say he was talking about important school business
but Twilight stopped him, she made him vanish.
"What is wrong with Buffy?" she asked. Giles sat down, glancing
to Twilight he opened a drawer.

"The council ordered me to give some of this to Buffy, it'll
remove her powers."
"Why?" asked Twilight.
"They want her to rely on her powers of deduction, not her
extra strength. I don't feel right about doing this," said Giles.

"My sister and I, and my mother are here to stop the vampires,
and now it seems that you are helping them! It is only from
what you said that I have not killed you, now go, protect her.
"Sister! we go!"

Carla and Twilight stood in the grounds of the watchers school.
"Which room is she in?" asked Twilight.
Carla pointed to the room. The windows blew out, the shattered
glass vanished as they both rose up and went into the room.
Standing on the window frame. Looking at the those in the room,
ignoring the teachers protestations they approached Clarissa.
"There is a bit of a problem, come with us," said Carla.
"Ok," replied Clarissa, "I just want to do this next bit."
"Clarissa! You are with us! Now!" said Twilight sternly.

The three of them appeared in the room at the watchers council
Quentin looked up at them, "How come you are both here?"
"He told us, something is wrong with Buffy. We have been led
to believe that you caused the slayer to lose her powers, care
to tell us why?" asked Carla.

"It is something that has been done for generations, it is a test,
to find out if the slayer can beat a vampire without her
powers," said Quentin.
"Excuse not accepted, try again," said Twilight.

"You don't understand that is how it is done," said Quentin.
"Clarissa, is that how you would do it?" asked Carla.
"We have been arguing about this practise, my belief is that if
a person with my strength was to fight a vampire, I would need
to be lucky to win."

"Here we are, we have been allowed to be with your side. We
are here only to stop the vampires, yet you, you have decided
to make it like this. We are not needed."

A winged figure appeared in the room.
"Who are you?" asked Clarissa.
"I am Tianara, I am here to prepare you."
"Prepare us for what?"

"Because of what the watchers council has done, the gates of
hell are starting to open. Clarissa? do you want the gates to
open?" asked Tianara.

"No."
"Would you be willing to take control of the watchers council
now?" asked Tianara.
"I, I think so," said Clarissa nervously.

"Let me ask the question again," said Twilight.
"At present a truce is in operation, that truce is only to kill the
vampires. The watchers council has, for some unknown reason
decided to test the truce by willingly siding with the vampires."

"That is not...."
"QUIET! you pathetic human! It is only because of Tianara being
here that I have not killed you."
"Thank you," said Quentin.

"Don't thank me," said Tianara, "I want you dead, a peace
between us has only happened once before. When I allowed the
lands of this world to be covered with water.
We want the vampires to cease to be as much as they do.

Yet you stopped the peace."
"So Clarissa, are you willing to take control?" asked Twilight.
Clarissa said sorry to Quentin, "Yes."
"Will you stop the test?" asked Tianara. "Yes."

Twilight went to Quentin, "You are with me." They vanished.
"What just happened?" asked Clarissa.
"He has gone to see tKuh-rotan. By saying yes, you have
allowed the council to stay in existence," said Tianara.

"And the truce?" asked Clarissa.
Carla vanished.

Carla appeared in Buffy's room, she looked to Buffy.
"I am sorry, none of this is your fault."
Then looking to Giles.
"Clarissa has replaced Quentin, because of that test, the truce
between us is ended."

Carla and Blacken Blade disappeared.

The Debt Collector Conclusion.

Buffy had gone to the graveyard, thinking about what she had
done in the last year, of the vampires that had been dusted with
Carla and Twilight, she felt saddened by the loss of her friends
and their mother, Blacken Blade.

Buffy leant against a headstone, her thoughts rested with those
she would not see again. Hearing the crack of a twig she span
about, three vampires were four foot from her, each menacingly
pointing a stake at her, "Lets see how you like it."

They thrust the stakes at her, as they burst into flames.
"What the?"
Buffy stepped back from them,
"What?"

"Like I said, it isn't your fault."
Buffy span.
"Carla? Oh Carla Dana, it is so good to see you again!"
Buffy hugged her.

"Twilight!" she hugged her.
"Blacken Blade! Thank you." she hugged her.
"Like my daughter said.
"It wasn't your fault, Twilight and I will go back to our graves
now, but we will be back. One thing before I go, why did you call
Carla by her middle name and now you use her first name?"

"At first I thought some secrecy would be best, then when I
saw it wasn't needed I stopped calling her Dana and used Carla."
Watching as they disappeared Buffy turned expecting to be alone.
"Carla! You're still here!"

"Yes, of course I am, the boss told me to be here, I have a
message from him, never mention about us being here."
She directed Buffy's gaze to the winged horse and the unicorn.
"Oh thanks, lovely, but if anyone see's them, it'll give the game
away," said Buffy.

"He thought of that, come with me."
They flew to just outside the town, Buffy watched where they
were heading towards. Seeing that Carla was pointing downward,
Buffy looked to see what she was pointing at. Only seeing a
train, she looked around.

Returning her gaze to the train, the engine seemed to shimmer
then she saw the face of Tianara looking, smiling.
They flew along the railroad track for a while then landed.
"I saw the name of that train, nice touch that, calling it the
Summer's special," said Buffy.

"Strange thing that, mum had thought about it long and hard,
seems that our name was Summers as well," said Carla,
"Now watch the train."
The train sped towards them, as it neared them it rose from the
tracks, circling around it became two winged dragons.

They landed near Buffy and Carla.
"Nice touch huh? you've got to be a bit more careful with yours
though, these are harder to hide."
Carla invited Buffy to get onto a dragon.

"So, which country are we going to fly over tonight?"
