Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls...welcome all to the BUFFY BOARDS VIRTUAL ARENA for the occasion of the FOURTH ANNUAL BB AWARDS!

I've been your host for the last three years but now it's time for me to pass on the torch to some younger fitter hosts...plus they couldn't come up with enough dosh...and the rider was rubbish...who drinks M&B Mild...cheapskates!

Anyway...all that aside...it's time for you to meet this year's hosts...Let's give a huge BB welcome to your hosts for tonight...the delightful ladies of the BB staffroom...it's

Let me just start by saying how honoured both Kean and myself are at being given the job of hosting this years awards. We can only hope to match what Mr. P has created in this hall over the past three years.

And on saying that, let me welcome back the man himself onto the stage to present this year's first award.

Well that was a very short break for me...at my age I need much longer to recover.

Anyhoo...it's my pleasure this year to be able to present the Pumpkin Belly award for the cutest BB-er of the last year. The nominees were cuter than a basketfull of kittens...and here they are

she's turned into the classic "kid sister" of BB for me.

Our second award of the evening is the Giles Award. This award is given to the member who is a know-it-all when it comes tp Buffy and Angel.

The competition was rather stiff in this category, it seems we are quite the knowledgable bunch here at BB😉 So without further ado here are our nominees

Unfortunately Allycat couldn't be with us tonight but he has this to say.

"Unfortunately I can't be there for you, as I'm celebrating something almost as important as the Buffies, my birthday. Alas, the date for the b-day bash was set before I knew of the Buffies-date. Anyway, I want to thank somebody, as is customary at these things, but unfortunately I don't know who came up with the rule that mods aren't eligible for this category. If that rule weren't in effect this category this category could be abolished and N4H could claim the special Lifetime-Achievement Giles Award. But, my luck, the rule is there, so thanks to those who nominated/voted for me. And everybody else for making these boards awesome!"

Our next award this evening is the Andrew Award. Here's a list of this year's nominees:

The Andrew award is presented to the BB'er with the best acting skills. As you might be aware, here at Buffy-Boards, we have two RPGs running, although both are on a mini-break, and all three of the ladies nominated bring their best to these games, playing the characters we all know and love, like, Buffy, Xander and Spike, and doing so with the grace and dignity of the original actors.

But there is one person who the judges think has stood out head and shoulders above the rest. She has thrown herself into the game with everything she has, and has helped created a wonderful world to be a part of.

This year's winner of the Andrew Award is...

But I'm going to have to give my vote to Palabra. Her Xander is amazing. It's very easy to play Xander as the comic relief and to fall into the trap of being the funny guy who doesn't have much to add to the story except for jokes. But she hasn't done that. She's managed to make Xander a real part of the team, he really matters, she has come up with some amazing storylines for him, and I'm really looking forward to playing against her in the near future.

Not only has she managed to do something great with an existing character, but she's also created a truly unique character in Indra, something not everyone could have done. Indra is unique, strong, a very detailed character who fits in so well with our verse.

So come on up here, palabra, and get your award!

I knew I wasn't presenting... yet.

*PV runs up onto the stage and, after enveloping Lyri in an ecstatic bear hug, turns to face the crowd.*

Wow, guys! Color me stoked!

I really don't know what to say. I'm kind of surprised to be the recipient again this year. It's a pleasant surprise, but a surprise nonetheless. Keanoite and Mesektet Ra offered up some serious competition. I honestly thought one of those two would take home the gold.

In any case, I'm sure we were all very deserving. We have great writers in the RPG. It's a blast -- quite possibly the most fun that I have here on the Buffy Boards (and I have myself a ton of fun) -- so I wanna thank BEG, Lyri, Keanoite, Mesektet Ra, and all of my fellow RPers for giving Xander and Indra fun fights, relationships, and storylines to explore. You guys all rock!

*PV clutches the Buffy to her chest.*

Not that I'm offering to split her into thirds or anything all King Solomon-ey like that. Pfft. She's all mine.

Anyway, thanks a bunch, guys!

Our next award is a very special, very secret award that our dear Lindsey is going to tell you all about🙂

Ok, that's enough. Calm down everyone!

Now, it's time for something a little bit special. We have awards to celebrate artiness, talented writing, general coolness, cutenes - the list goes on. But there's one aspect of the Buffy-Boards that's missing.

The houses.

Drogyn, Merrick, Raiden, and Vahla Hanesh. (That was alphabetical, so don't throw tomatoes!) House Pride has always been a big part of many members' experience here, so now, we're going to reward the best, the most entusiastic, the proudest.

The nominations for the secret House Pride Award are as follows.

On the main boards, her house pride has been effusive, obvious, and incredibly annoyin- er, proudfull. *ahem*.

Of course, there's more to be found in the halls of VH itself as evidenced by one of our judges comments:

Fake Shemp
Since she joined in July 2008, Fake Shemp has gone out of her way to make others feel welcome and encouraging everyone to post. She takes part regularly in both Dorm and Interdorm Competitions, and when she noticed a slight lack in "VH Spirit" she came up with the "VH Hero Squad" idea that's been a huge hit.

She's by far our most frequent poster (or one of them, anyway), and is always looking for new things that we can do as a dorm (came up with the idea of decorating a VH tree around christmas time, for example). She's got more dorm pride than anyone else I see there.
