The I Hate Riley Club!

I wont say I hate Riley because there are some aspects of his character that I like very much. I will say, however, that Riley had some moments where I just wanted to punch him in his big stupid mouth for being so very annoying. Sometimes I truly could not stand him.

I didn't hate Riley, but I definitely disliked him. I remember telling some of my friends how happy I was in S5's "Into the Woods," when Riley left. He was just too normal.

I hate Riley. With a passion. He was just too needy and I've always said this but too jealous of Buffy's strength etc.

I also rejoiced when he left.

I agree; I don't hate this character, I just never found him very interesting.

Does anyone hate Riley as much as I do?
Buffy never, ever belonged with him or even loved him. I was rejoicing when he left.

Why do you hate him out of curiosity?

I don't hate Riley, he just didn't fit with either the Scoobies, or as Buffy's bf. And the jealousy thing he had.....

I definatly did not like one Mr. Riley Finn. At the end of "Into the Woods," I was happy to see him gone, but I was also sad for Buffy. However I do think that Riley was an important charictor for the shows arch. He introduced a few new ways to the scoobie gang and he helped to show the changes in Buffys heart. But he was an ass whole boyfrined who got pissed off because Buff did not tell him everything, plus what a jerk letting a vamp suck him!! I felt really sorry for B. I hated Riley but I do see how he was important to the show. Still gald he left though!

Rileys a dick but i like his character, i found the whole Riley/initiative story interesting. Ended up feeling sorry for him when he left due to evil Buffy.

Buffy? Evil? Did SHE have vampire whores? :)
I've been catching up on the season 8 comics, and when we saw that he was working for Twilight, that was the closest I ever came to hating the character, but now with the latest revelation about him, I'm not sure what to think. (Not saying what happens in the recent issues since they may still be considered spoilers)

I honestly dont know. I just found him to be so irritating, and I guess I could relate him to real people that I know. He seemed to me like he could never get a good girl, and when Buffy came along he was like "Yeah, I get to sleep with someone!" And no oofence to the Buffy lovers, but you gotta admit she is easy.

I don't actually think I ever liked Riley...Maybe I did at one point, but I don't think I did...He was a boring character and i was glad when he left.

I don't hate Riley, exactly. I think it was important for him to be in the show, with Buffy, even for just a little while. Having the comparison between him and Angel was a good thing, and it was also when Buffy, and I think it was also the reason Buffy discovered she preferred evil men; and the others realised she seemed to like it when men hurt her, because she'd been with a normal man, and she hadn't been happy.

Riley was quite annoying, and he did tend to be quite boring and overly jealous (Especially about the Dracula situation) but I didn't hate him; I've not hated a Buffy character, ever, really.

Awww, I loved Riley! 🙁 I think he gets a bad rap for being the rebound guy after Angel. 🙁 He didn't start out as a bad guy, in fact quite the opposite. I blame the writers for turning him into a whiny, clingy little boy.

Ugh, I did. It might not mean much coming from a hardcore Bangeler, but ew. I could never get into their relationship. He was annoying. And after that whole blood sucking vamp addiction thing... I found him beyond creepy.

I don't hate Riley (I hated Parker and Warren), but he was a little boring: Do you like cheese? Do you want some cheese?

I don't hate Riley, I just don't like that he was with Buffy, meaning he got a lot of screen time, which isn't good as he was boring as hell. If he wasn't with her and we didn't see so much of him, I wouldn't have minded him.
