I'm sure we can all name the big Spuffy scenes - the kiss in Intervention, the night spent holding each other in Touched, the 'I Love You' in Chosen, etc.

But what about the little moments? The small things that you might have missed on your first watch; the little moments that really show how much they feel for each other and how amazing their relationship is.

There are so many, but to start things off...

The little smile Spike gives Buffy when she makes the bleurgh-face in Life Serial. This gets me every time.

Their conversation at Xander and Anya's wedding. It's one of the sweetest, most genuine moments between them, IMO.

In Never Leave Me when Buffy feeds Spike. It's not the most romantic of scenes but it shows the level of understanding between them.

The little moment we get in Older and Far Away, when they're sitting on the floor playing cards together. Makes you wonder how they ended up there.

I liked how she lightly smacked him on the face in Pangs. 🙂 And that look that they gave each other after the Spell ended in Something Blue. 😀

Yes, in Something Blue... After the spell ended, they just seemed like... I don't know how to describe it haha.

Spike didn't react with disgust until he saw Buffy doing so. Sooo... he would have been happy to carry on. 😛

That's my take and I'm sticking with it. 😀

I just saw my sig-icon and remembered another great little moment: in Dead Things when they're underneath the rugs, talking about decorating.

I liked how she was always helping him in early S7, by giving him his "closet" and such. And by saying that she wasn't helping him out of pity. 🙂

And how she called him hot in Sleeper. 😀 And how, also in Sleeper, she more or less let him bite her, and as soon as he tasted her blood he snapped out of it.

That one little moment in "Dead Things" when Buffy notes that Spike had fixed up his crypt (Obviously for her) and he said "Are we having a conversation here?" Obviously, the first time that Buffy had ever said anything to him in a post-coital moment that didn't begin with, "If you EVER tell..." and end with a threat to his life and well being. also loved "...as soon as my legs are working again.)

I LOVED that little Hallway Scene in First Date, so cute. 🙂 It was also sweet when Buffy immediately ran to Spike after the fight, instead of to her "best friend", the human. 😀

This is the scene I would choose, too. Spuffy is defined by the moments. Bangel was about big, epic, and obvious love - the beauty in Spuffy is in the subtle nature of their love. They love each other so much they don't have to say it; it's obvious to everyone who watches them together. 🙂

That scene in 'Helles Belles' seems to go unnoticed, but for me, it's absolutely beautiful and heartbreaking.

Their conversation is so authentic and honest in that scene. They both look gorgeous and sad. Spike admits his vulnerability, and Buffy doesn't sugar-coat her answer to his question. That smile she gives him after she tells him her dress is radioactive lights up the screen...and breaks my heart.

Spike: But it hurts?
Buffy: Yeah.
Spike: Thanks.
*cries*
The look on his face is SO beautiful. James can say anything and everything with one facial expression, can't he?

Here's a picspam from that scene:

He really, really can. As evidenced below, with my hastily-thrown-together screencaps... (and these are some of the great 'little moments', too.)

And slightly off-topic, but gah, that man is beautiful.

You made me swoon with those James/Spike pics.

He is! He is SO beautiful! His fiancee is SO lucky! :)
Haha actually I thought that James looked like he forgot his make-up in those pics. 😛

But, um, I like how in Goodbye Iowa Buffy said to Riley about Spike "This is Spike (voice is soft and almost maternal) and he's not bad anymore!" (Or something like that, lol 😀 )

When Spike first sees her after she gets back from the dead. And when she sees him. When they were in the living room and Spike was looking at her hands... it's perhaps the sweetest little moment.

I also like the end of Fool For Love when he comes to kill her, and he just puts down the gun and ends up comforting her.

I agree! Both these scenes are really nice moments between them.
Was going to say both the ones Faeriegrrl said above. Will also add another 'back steps' scene when she's overheard Willow and Giles fighting and Spike makes that lame joke to try and get her to smile and then she asks him about finances. and also when they are looking for Dawn and he reassures her that they'll find her but she admits she has no idea what to do with Dawn when they do. They are just nice littel moments 🙂

One of my very favorite moments between Buffy and Spike was when Buffy had Willow do the spell at the end of "Crush" to keep him out of the house, and he looked at her with so much hurt in his eyes. You could tell it was definitely more than "just a little crush".

You know, I really like the moment in Chosen after The First visits Buffy and she has her epiphany realisation and then Spike wakes up and asks what's wrong and she replies that she has just realised that they are going to win. The scene then cuts to Buffy telling the scooby team her plan. Notice that Spike is not in the room. You're probably wondering why I like this moment? I like it because, to me, it implies that Buffy already told Spike. I just don't see Buffy getting this idea and racing upstairs, getting everyone out of bed to tell them her big plan. I love the idea of her telling Spike first, discussing it, him giving feedback and support and then she goes to tell the others.

She definitely told him first for many reasons. He was there with her, love, and he didn't just betray her and kick her out of her own house because of a plan she made

I know this post is old, but oh my gosh I did not even think about this! Gah thanks for being awesome. :D

WOW, great point!!!
Oh, you guys mentioned so many great ones 😀 I'll add a few too.

I love the scenes in Potential.
-When Buffy tells Spike to come at her, and he does but gets a little shaken up, and she wants to check on him by lifting up his shirt, but he insists he's all right...I mean even the other slayers noticed. "That's hot." "So, what? We're like suppose to make out with them?" Lol!
-At the bar, I love when Buffy and Spike exchange looks, like they have an inside joke between them, probably referring to the night Buffy got pretty drunk and she saw him play kitten poker 🙂
-When they are in the crypt, Buffy says she found Spike's crypt "comfy" and she catches herself for saying too much. Oh, Buffy 🙂
-Also at the crypt, when Buffy is fighting the vampire, and Kennedy wants to jump in, Spike holds her back, shaking his head "no," pretty much saying "Buffy's got this. Trust her." Love it 😀
-Finally, when they go to the school, and Buffy tosses the knife to Spike when they are fighting...again, just showing how in sync they are.

I love your choices, StarSlayer. For me, Spuffy is defined by the "small moments." This isnt a 'ship that's about grand gestures or large admissions. This is isn't Seth and Summer, or Buffy and Angel. What's so beautiful about Spuffy is the mystery, the subltety, the potential. Tiny smiles they give each other, the way they can sit together comfortably and not say a thing, the way they know instinctively what each other needs. Buffy and Spike had been through the best and the worst together, they knew each other so well there was no need to be anything but totally authentic with each other.

One of my very favorite Spuffy moments is in Chosen, when Spike yells "Buffy!" as his amulet starts to glow, and she yells back "Spike!" almost instantly, and drops everything to run to him. The connection they share is unbreakable. Untouchable. They connect on such a strong level, that when their hands touched they burst into flame. For one moment, they were one. He gave her her fire back. She still has it, too, she still fights with the strength he gave her. That won't ever change.

LOL I'm sorry for commenting on old posts, but this is so freaking perfect. This post was every thought I always had about Spuffy, but articulated a thousand times better. Just beautiful. Sigh.
Everyone here has mentioned amazing moments of SPOOFY! 😀

One of my favorite little moments, was in "School Hard". When Spike first lays his eyes on Buffy in the Bronze. There was just something there, something, something was in his eyes, something in his stare. It wasn't disgust, it was more curiosity. I honestly believe at that very moment, maybe unbeknown at the time, Spike's first feelings for Buffy came to life. Maybe it was a teeny tiny weak spark, but it was there. I honestly believe it was. 🙂

I think JM said once that Spike was in love with Buffy when he first saw her, but was in love with Dru at the time so didn't know :)

I love that moment when he reassures her she's going to find Dawn. At first it's almost throwaway--"You'll find her, you hero-types always do"--but then she gives him this look, and the way he repeats, "You'll find her" just gets me every time.

Also, when Willow gives Buffy a massager for her birthday, and Buffy looks at Spike, who raises his eyebrow in a very suggestive way. That's a funny little moment!

I also like in the first episode of S6, when Willow's talking about making the Buffybot exactly like Buffy, and Spike replies, "She'll never be exactly."
