The Little Moments

My all-time favorite scene is in Fool For Love when Spike sees sad Buffy, puts the gun down, and sits on the deck with her. I know it's been mentioned before, but I just had to bring it up. Another little moment I like a lot is in Crush when Buffy and Spike are in the car outside a warehouse and Spike sings "I wanna be sedated" and then asks "Do you like the Ramones?" almost as if they were on a first date. I still laugh at that!

I was thinking of that when I saw the title of this thread.

Lol, that's so funny, I had forgotten about that. 🙂

Also, when Willow gives Buffy a massager for her birthday, and Buffy looks at Spike, who raises his eyebrow in a very suggestive way. That's a funny little moment!

Can't believe i never noticed this. What episode is it from?

S6 - Older and Far Away. Love that little exchange 🙂

I also love in that episode when Spike's jealous of Richard, and mocks Buffy. "Oh, shut up, he's sweet." 😀 And she calls him out on it. 🙂

thanks and i also like the moment you mentioned
I always liked in first date when Buffy was going out with Wood and she talked to Spike about it like she had too, that shows a lot to me with them.

And when Spike looked sad after she walked away, so sad :(
I also love that little moment in the graveyard when Giles has just found out about Spike having no chip and they have that funny little exchange about there 'being a choice' and they share a looks and finish each other's sentence and it's just very cute!

love that moment too where Spike gets involved in the conversation saying "There was a choice"

Love the new banner!
Oh, oh! When Buffy and Spike show the Potentials a vampire crypt, and Spike's trying to describe his old one, and Buffy tells them it was "comfy." And Kennedy asks, "When did you ever find it comfy?" and Buffy and Spike exchange this adorable "caught" look.

Also, when Spike's playing the Big Bad to train to potentials, and Buffy fights him to show them how it's done. She' staddles him and he grimaces, and she gets all worried and tries to check his stomach. He catches her hand and one of the Potentials asks, "So we're supposed to make out with them or something?" So cute!

Oh, wait! Also (haha, I think of one and a bunch start coming), can't remember eaxtly when, but I think it's the Buffy dating Wood episode. Spike gets tossed around and Buffy checks on him, and they exchange this really heartfelt look. The way Wood looks at Spike and Buffy, you just know he realizes something is going on. And also, y'know, that Spike killed his mother and whatnot.

Yep, love those scenes in Potential :) And in First Date when Buffy goes to check on Spike before Xander and Wood :)

Yes! I love that scene in 'Potential' too :)
Since you mentioned the scene when Spike and Buffy tell Giles that Spike no longer has his chip, I was thinking of the episode before that, where Buffy and Spike are in the basement. Spike knows Buffy will be relieved that all the girls are gone for a while, and she admits it. "I can't believe I'll have the bathroom to myself for 2 days." (something along those lines). And then later in the episode, when she hands him a wet cloth to wipe the blood from his nose after the chip malfunctions, I just love that. 🙂 And that little Ghostbuster reference between them, lol! 😀 "God, that line is never going to be usable again, is it?"

Another reason why I love Spike with Buffy rather than Angel... Spike and Buffy both get pop culture funnies - Angel... not so much.
Spuffy is defined by the "little moments." It's the subtle nature of their relationship that's so fascinating nd enduring. It's not about grand gestures - it's about real human connection between two individuals on a day-to-day level. It's about having someone around to make the day-to-day struggles a little bit easier. True love, no apologies, no regrets, no reserve.

:) Although, I think the flamey hands is one of those big moments, lol

ghostbuster reference?

I should have noticed that. :smile3:

One of my favorite very subtle moments, it is the episode Showtime. At the very end of the episode, she saves Spike. He sees her and realizes she isn't the First. She just unchains him and smiles. It makes me my heart smile. She went through so much to save him. How could she not love him? Then she helps him home.

This is also one of my favorite Spuffy scenes, which ultimately led to me choosing the ship over Buffy ships. The look in Buffy's eyes was so, gah I cannot even explain it. Seriously, that look she gave Spike was indescribable. Plus, did anyone pick up Spike's gentle growl he gave Buffy when she began untying him? Something pretty much unique to Spuffy (if you think about vampire growling used this way against her lol), and it was funny because Buffy understood the growl. Returning it with that "look".

Man, I love Spuffy.

I love Life Serial when they're hanging out in Spike's crypt and Buffy drinking and making that hilarious sound/face. Spike just looks at her and smiles and that look... i can't even put it into words. It's like he's thinking the most amazing, hilarious, beautiful girl is sitting next to him and he's stunned/happy. It's just so tender! I love it.

OMG! I love Spuffy also!! I sooo second that. 😀

The look is like a relief/longing look with a little dash of admiration. I say admiration because in season five, he did the same thing for her. You know when he was beaten up by Glory and didn't tell her anything. Buffy IMO realizes it was worth all the trouble and she could truly trust him again. I am thinking that might be the moment, she trusted him after season six events. Again subtle..and beautiful moment. Gets me every time.

Plus, what I also love about that scene is that when they are walking out, Buffy has her arm around Spike's waist while his arm is over her shoulder. They just look like they're a couple who rely on each other, help each other, and love each other. 🙂

You guys have said some really great moments! All my favourite ones are mentioned 🙂

I don't think that these have been mentioned. I like in Tabula Rasa, how Buffy is yelling at Spike about how she will never touch him again, then she sees the stake being thrown at him. We only see her face for a second but the look on it is totally worried while she grabs him and pulls him to the ground.

I also like their little cover up story to Joyce about being in a rock band together in Becoming pt2. Spike: "Yeah, she plays the...triangle" Buffy: "Drums!" hehe 🙂

All right, this thread is a little inactive...let's see if we can bring it back!

My favorite Spuffy moments are just about every Spuffy moment. Especially early Season Six and Season Seven. Just gah, perfection perfection.

Here goes:

Early Season Six, when Buffy first comes back. That look he gives her when she's coming down the staircase? Chills.

Oooh and also when Xander finds him crying outside. My heart broke for him at that moment.

In Afterlife (I think?), when he tells that he tried to keep his promise to protect Dawn.

"Every night I save you." The way he almost whispers it, without looking her in the eye. The sheer regret and reverence he has for her is just palpable.

Life Serial, the amused and gentle smile when Buffy makes her bleurgh-face! It's so adorbs. xD Buffy is darn cute, too!

Once More With Feeling, during "Something to Sing About". I don't think people notice this very often, but when he sings, "So one of us is living..." to her, there's just a hint of that gentle smile again. To me, it's like he's pleading with her, realizing the irony and still trying to say, "Live, Buffy, because I need you to."

I've got loads more, but this is just what comes to mind at the moment. 🙂

I LOVE that little smile in OMWF :D
I love the 'Showtime' scene. I don't own season 6 so can't remember all that much about 'Life Serial', 'OMWF' etc. I'll have to get it. I like Buffy's "I believe in you, Spike" speech in 'Never Leave Me'.

''I know you'll never love me. I know that I'm a monster... but you treat me like a man, and that's...'' - Spike

I always loved the scene where Spike tells that to Buffy. Awesome *little* moment.
