The maddest you've ever been at Joss Whedon

I love Joss Whedon. I love him the most of all the other famous in the world I'll probably never meet. He's like my third parent, since there is no way I'd be the person I am with out his influence, but he does drive me nuts. There have been moments where I've rolled my eyes, sighed, and facepalmed. And yes there has been moments where I wanted to hit him with something heavy. I'm asking other people to share those moments, since I know I can't be the only one who has ever felt that way.
I think the worst it ever was for me was A Whole in the World the first time I watched it. I was so angry. I told my sister I would never watch Angel again, we both knew that I was an empty threat. And that's part of the reason I was so pissed, since I knew there was nothing the man could ever do to keep me from watching his creations. But yeah I was angry not only because Fred died but because of the screeching halt that it put to Wesley and Fred's relationship before it could properly begin. For the Buffyverse, I don't have too many ships...I'd say preferences, but other than Angel and Buffy, Fred/Wesley does come close to being a full on ship for me. I wanted them to get together for so long and then...well you know.
So yeah, what about you people?

There was many-a-time in Angel season 5. But if I had to pick one mad moment it is a toss-up between the end of Not Fade Away (not impressed) and Spuffy.

Those were my maddest moments.

For me, I'd say it was when Angel ended and there was no goodbye from Buffy. Not an appearance, not a send off, nothing. This has been debated here many times and lots will disagree with me but I feel like there could have at least been a little more referencing or something. The closest they came to acknowledging B was mentioning she was somewhere in Rome...I know there were many factors involved but it was sad because it was the end of Buffyverse on tv and there was no farewell from the Slayer.

Overall, i'm furious that joss whedon seemed to have a real issue with couples staying together. let's take a look at all the couples that broke up because of death, cheating, anything:
fred and wesley
tara and willow
buffy and angel
buffy and spike
buffy and riley
willow and oz
xander and cordelia
xander and anya
giles and jenny
fred and gunn
see what i mean?

Too much to handle. :/
Mine is definitely what he did with Cordelia in s4. He redeemed himself a little bit in s5 with You're Welcome, but that was definitely not cool, what he made out of my favorite character.

i hated joss for what he did to cordy aswell.
and kennedy??? eurgh. where did she come from?? wouldnt you think that willow would have spent more time grieiving tara??

I totally agree... Out of everything I didn't like or got pissed about, the way he handled Cordelia's story after she got pregnant was unbelievable and I've never been able to forgive him for his extreme douchiness.

Yeah I've actually gotten over that long ago. I think it was Marti who said once "we make couples happy then punish them." It's just Joss's MO. To me, it's as much a part of his writing as characters constantly trying to redeem themselves, how they deal with pain, and all the moral ambiguity.
But yeah, there was no excuse for Kennedy.

I forget, but didn't the studio mess with Cordelia's character a lot.

Deffinetly what he did to Cordy, and all the real world stuff that came out about it at the time, he really came across bad during that.

And the ending of Angel, I don't care for metaphors give me an actual ending.

I'm mad at him for doing what he did to Cordy, too.
I'm also mad since he always seems to kill off my favorite characters like
Jenny
Tara
Anya
Fred
Cordelia
Joyce
Doyle and some others

I hated when Fred died. I loved Illyria, but I loved Fred too. I can't stand when my favorite pair gets together again and then one of them is killed off. I was so happy for Fred/Wesley and Tara/Willow! And episode later, what do I get?
Fred and Tara are killed.

I also loved the beginning of You're Welcome, since I was so happy Cordy was back, and I hated how she went at the end, I stopped watching for a while so I could pout.

Around the end of Buffy S8 also got me into a major ballistic fit of rage towards Joss.

I'm also mad since he created Kennedy. Seriously, what was up with that?

What happened then?

And I guess I've never been terribly angry about the death of characters since I've never had an ultimate favorite character. Buffyverse is the only time that's happened.

Really? No favorite character??? Crazy! :)
Probably him making Oz a gigantic douche to rid of him. Oz totally could've left under different circumstances.

Ruining Xander and Anya.

Kennedy.

Yeah, he did kind of make me mad at Oz...and thats hard to do!
I think the only time he's really made me mad was, like a few people have already said, the handling of Charisma and Cordelia in Angel S4. He kind of redeemed himself with You're Welcome, but it was still a kick in the teeth. Bringing Kennedy in before the audience was ready to accept Willow moving on was a really stupid move also.

For all of the other incidents mentioned, I'm happy to go with it. Tara's death, for instance, made me sad, but there was at least a good point to it. Joss felt that that was the way he wanted the story to go, and as much as I hated the event itself, I enjoyed the season as a whole. The same goes for most deaths/break ups. I didn't really feel like any were just for the sake of it, though it would have been nice to see somebody last!

Oh, Lilah being dropped from W&H after Season 4 irked me as well, though I don't know if that was Stephanie's choice or Joss', so I'm not going to blame him too much.

I don't really have anything I'm mad at him for. As Lindsey McDonald said above, there are things I didn't like, but I felt like it was done in good reason. I DO feel Kennedy was moved in a little fast, but I also feel like she was necessary to Willow later being happy... she showed her that no matter what happens, there are good things in life. It's one of the reasons I ship Killow.

So, I am fine with Joss. He is, so far, not on my hit list at all.

Wow! A Killow shipper!
I keep asking can someone explain what happened between Charisma and Joss. Is it a noodle indecent kind of thing, what?
I agree with Lindsey. I get why he killed off Tara, I also know why he continually breaks people up, as well as puts them together, so most of the time, I go with it. But as said previously, I was so greatly pissed when he killed of Fred, but now I think its okay. This is mostly because the question of how much of Fred is left in Illyria really interests me. I operate under the theory that Fred's soul wasn't burned up but rather has been irreversibly fused into Illyria. It also gets at what a soul actually is and all that, so it's a cool debate.
LLL, Joss isn't on my hit list, since I love him about five times more than I hate him.

No, rumors are that Joss got mad at Charisma for getting pregnant because it ruined his plans for Season 4, and also that Charisma didn't inform the writers of her pregnancy soon enough. Charisma talks about it here starting at about the 4:00 mark:

as far as I know, Joss has never really commented on it with his side of the story besides acknowledging that there was tension between them.

ETA: I'm pissed at Joss for the Cordy/Charisma thing. Also in Season 6 for reducing rape to a plot device, because WTF JOSS. Not okay.
