OF FAITH, HOPE AND CHARITY

THE MISSING CROSS

As there hadn't been any lessons at the Manor that day, boredom sat
around the room with the Maidens.
Fred was only mildly interested in watching the news that morning,
there was a feature on local events, mention was made about the
number of road accidents increasing.

Fred called Garet to watch, he became interested in the story that
spoke of a sudden increase in the number of road accidents along a
small stretch of road near Telegraph hill. Anne was sitting nearby
reading a magazine article when she noticed that Garet was sitting up
watching the television report.

"What's that about, Garet?"
"They're saying why accidents happen, where they happen. They are
mentioning about a place that isn't to far from here, one of the places
that I've read about."
"I'll go to the library, find out what we have about that section of
road," said Fred.

"Well, it is something to do so I'll come with you," said Anne, "I'll tell a
few of the others."
Garet rang Totnes police station and asked to speak to Dave Jackson,
saying it was for the Myth Investigators.
"Hello Garet, what can I do for you?" asked Dave.

"There was a thing on the TV about the number of road accidents on a
bit of road between the old Penn Inn round-about and the Plymouth to
Exeter road, not far from Telegraph Hill. Can you get me the details?" asked Garet.

"We've been doing a bit of investigating in conjunction with the Newton
Abbot police about those accidents ourselves, most of the fatalities
have happened just after it rained," said Dave.

"What's the rain got to do with it?"
"I'm not sure, bit it does make the road slippy, and that can lead to
accidents. There was a suggestion that the road surface is repaired in
that bit," said Dave.

"Can we look into it first, something tells me there's another reason."
"Ok Garet, I know the officer in charge over there, he has a deep
respect for the Myth team, so I'll tell him to leave it to you people for a while."

An hour later Garet was sat, thinking about his conversation with Dave,
he suddenly realised what it was that made him so interested in that
area. He ran through to the library, hoping to speak to Fred.

"Look for a ghost or ghosts near the road. I was speaking to Dave
earlier about that area and he mentioned about the accidents being
mainly when there was no rain, that the rain had just stopped. Can you
bring me as much as you can find."

"Do you want anything about ghostly activity?" asked Anne.
"Yes, I think there could be more than one ghost causing the
problems," said Garet.
For several hours, Garet, Fred and Wesley sorted through books, picking
out the passages that might be useful.

During the late nineties a multiple car crash had claimed the lives of six
people, four other cars had become involved, the first car had broken
down, the next had left the road and slammed into some trees, two
other cars stopped to help and the rest ploughed into them.

A survivor in one of the cars remembered the driver shouting that the
wheel wouldn't turn. Not long afterwards there had been many reports
of a spectral figure guiding car drivers on that stretch of road.

Some one said that there was no mist but they were still going slowly.
All was well, until one person said of a spectral figure gliding along the
road in front of them, but he kept looking back. His wife noticed another
figure seemingly searching their bags.

When he stopped his search the two if them disappeared. Garet took
what he'd found, he told every-one in the room. Whilst most of the
Maidens were in favour of helping him, they suggested that more info
was needed about the area."

"To start with Garet, if you, Scherry, Blue and Pitts go there and find
out what's going on, I'll organise it from this end," said Hope.
The evenings air was a bit on the nippy side as Pitts, Blue, Garet and
Scherry walked along the road, there was a bit of moisture in the air,
but no sign of rain.

"Can you see any ghosts here Blue?" asked Garet.
"Yeah, sure, there's a load of them in the forest, they've got the same
uniform as those that attacked my castle. There's two by themselves,
bit further ahead. They are dressed differently, they seem to have
modern clothes. I'll go and have a chat with them, back in a bit."

When Blue did come back, she seemed to be very thoughtful.
"What is it?" asked Garet.
"I think they've lost something," said Blue, "I couldn't get to them to
speak to me to much, when I was getting closer to them, I noticed
that they looked at the ground a lot.

I don't think it was my being there that caused a problem, it's like they
are looking for something."
"The problems of being a ghost," said Pitts.
"Blue, there's some-one to speak to you," said Garet, indicating
some-one else.

"Why did you come here, why talk to us?"
"To find out why you are here, and see if we can help you."
"In the crash, part of a cross that our mother gave us was lost. We've
searched every where near here, we've even looked in every car that
passes, but we can't leave the area."

"So, the person that you are with, he is your brother? you said you've
been trying to get others to help you?" asked Blue.
"Yes, but without any success."

"I was told that you look when it has just stopped raining, why's that?"
"I'm not sure, maybe it's because when we first started looking we
thought it would reflect better with some water on it."

"And you keep coming back here?, I think I know why. When you leave
a car you want to tell your brother, so, if you are the first to leave
you'll go where you can be found. If you are the last to leave, you'll
want to tell him," said Blue.

"Thanks, what do we do now?"
"You could come and see my place," suggested Blue.
"Could do I suppose, if we could leave this place we would."

"You can, until now all your thoughts have been about here. So if you
think about staying with me, then you will," said Blue.
Blue went and stood on the other side of the road, turning to them,
they looked at each other then they were with Blue.

"When we were alive we just did what we wanted, now we need to
think of what we want to do, okay, thanks."
"We've never been able to go this, we've never been anywhere since
we died, I'm glad you knew how to do this."

"I was the same as you, it was Pitts, I'm not sure if he could be called
my boyfriend, I mean we're both a few hundred years old," said Blue.
"He's a ghost as well, is he?"

"Oh no, he used to be a vampire, but now he's an eternal. Tell you
what, I'll take you to where I lived," said Blue, "is it alright if you see
what you can find about their mothers cross Garet, where the wrecked
cars were taken."

It wasn't long before Blue, Pitts, Scherry and the two other ghosts
were stood, looking at the castle.
"This is a nice place, you really used to live here?"
"This is the place," said Blue.

"I've visited this place, I remember I got some strange feelings from this
place. My wife didn't even have a slight feeling, but her sister, well, it
was the most we could do to stop her leaving there and then."

"She was right to leave," remarked Blue, "there's a few ghosts here
who would have played with her, your wife would have been safe. But
as for now, I think it'd be best if you stay near me. Some here are not
to be messed with."

"You mean some of them are a bit nasty?"
"I wouldn't say nasty, evil maybe and definitely demonic. Most of them,
if you treat them as friends they will treat you as a friend, it'll break the
routine, having people to talk to.

There's usually something different going on here. Best tell me your
names though so that I can introduce you though."
"Oh, sure, my name is Terry, this is Phil."
"Come on then, let's go in," said Terry.

"Those woods back there, is there a reason for us not going into
them?" asked Phil.
"I'd like you to be able to have a look around the castle first. I"˜ll get
you to meet some of my friends."

"What is the reason why we don't go into the woods first?" asked Phil.
"I would prefer you not to have to die again, normally there's a lot of
red eyes watching us, I"˜d say they'd like to meet you."

"If they want to meet, that's good isn't it?" asked Phil.
"Their eyes are usually red!, some people may think they are evil, and
if they are evil? why would they let you go?. If you want to go in there,
do it just before we leave," said Blue.

"Fair enough," said Phil.
"Right," she said, "this path goes around the castle. There are two
ghosts that stay on the slope."
"What is known about them?" asked Terry.

"Nothing, but they have put a lot of people off by staring at them.
Back to the path, one of the ghosts is of a soldier who has been known
to help people."
"Help? help against what?" asked Terry.

"The other that uses this path is an evil entity, if your pleasant to the
soldier, he may protect you," stated Blue.
"I don't think you need worry about that evil one now," said the soldier,
"it hasn't been here for several days."

"Really, I wonder where it is," said Blue, looking around.
"Well, that's the thing, it hasn't been seen and I've been watching out
for it, I mean I always hoped it would go, but now, well," said the soldier.

"You said hoped!, it's begun!. YES!!."
"The haunted woods, have you seen anything in there?" asked Blue.
"Come to think of it, I haven't," replied the soldier
The Goddess Medusera appeared. Terry, Phil and the soldier stepped back.

"What is it Blue?, you sounded as though this is important."
"The soldier here said about the demonic entity that patrols this path.
He said he always hoped it would
go away, now it seems to have gone," said Blue.

"He hoped?"
"Yes Goddess, hoped!. And there's other evil that has gone."
"I'll pass the word around," said The Goddess Medusera.

"What is happening?" asked the soldier.
"The missing portion of hope that was held in Pandora's Box, it was
released, from what you said, it appears as though hope has started to
end the evil."

"So we can have a good look about?" asked Terry.
"If the soldier can stay with you, I'll tell the White Lady."
Blue ran to the castle then down to the basements, she called out for an old friend of hers. Fairly soon Margaret Pomeroy came to be at her side.

"What is it?"
"I've just heard, all evil is leaving. Please, don't lure any-one to their death," said Blue.
"Why?"

"If you kill, then you may be seen as evil and you'll disappear, hope is in the world."
"That may explain why the room at the bottom of the steps isn't able to be pitch black anymore," said Margaret.

"I'll leave the gardeners a message to tend your blue flowers," said Blue.
Terry stood behind her.
"Oh Terry, come here and meet Margaret."

"The White Lady with the blue flowers," said Margaret, "instead of getting my revenge on people, I'll let them see my blue flowers, hmm."
Blue went to be with Terry and Phil.

"Remember, treat each ghost as you would like to be treated," Blue said to them.
"Treat the ghost as a person, not a thing," said Terry.
"A conversation is all that is required," said Margaret.

"Ghosts talking to each other? we ca do that?" asked Terry.
"Like Blue and me?" asked The White Lady, "or did you forget that we are ghosts?"
"I never thought of you two as ghosts," said Terry, "or me come to think of it."

"On that note, I'll talk you through the others. That bush near the gates of the castle has two ghosts, possibly children, as they look as though they are playing hide and seek. When you go under the arch into the grounds there is a soldier, there's no need to worry about him, just greet him as you go in. Regardless of wether you see him or not."

"That's where Phil is, he's chatting with two soldiers."
"There's a butler and a woman that worked in the kitchen, in the tower there's something else. No-one has ever seen more than a light. Some-times you'll hear two horses running on the roof, then some noise of them falling to the ground."

"But if you should come down here with out Margaret, put the Blue flowers on the window ledge, if you can't see the window say out loud the flowers are a present, and leave it on the steps on the way out."

"Occasionally there will be another, that ghost is of a maid or a kitchen help. I think a part of her that holds her pain of dying," said Margaret.
"What do you mean by that?" asked Terry.

"Margaret was a lovely person in life, but her death was a long horrible death. To pass the time, Margaret would remember the good times, even just walking around the gardens. Eventually there became two of her, the other sometimes manifests in the gardens. Seeing a ghost can be exciting, but seeing two of the same ghost, that is unusual," said Blue.

"Two of her?"
"Yes, sometimes her other has been seen, her doppelganger."
"I'm glad we're here during the day," said Terry.
"Why?" asked Blue.

"Well, the room won't be dark will it?" asked Phil.
"I don't mean darkness, I mean total pitched blackness, day or night," said Blue.
"Wasn't there other ghosts there?" asked Terry.
"More ghosts?" asked Phil.

"Terry should know that by now, in this place, there are eight ghosts or more in the grounds of the house, then there's ten that stay outside the walls and ten or more in the Haunted Woods."
"Don't you know how many?" asked Terry.

"I never used to go in there, I was once told that a coven of devil worshippers, maybe twenty of them were killed in the woods one night."
"Were they just finishing for the night or had they just started," asked Phil.

"Does it make a difference?" asked Terry.
"What if they were killed after they had just called the evil dead?" asked Phil.
"They are said to be bad people when their feeling good, but far worse than that if they decide that they don't like you and you don't leave straight away.

Put it like this if you're a human, you never will. To the southern side of the woods in the
fields there are four ghosts that wander about, some people say that they are soldiers, I think they are the ghosts of those who helped kill the devil worshippers.

That may be a good thing but it could also be bad, bordering on dangerous, if you aren't as devout as they are, they may turn on you, and if that happens, run for your life. Imagine the religiously devout attacking you, then the devil worshippers coming into the field to protect you, who would you side with?"

"Charming place, I must remember to be careful in there," said Terry.
"Terry, a demon would be scared in there!"
"Are there other areas to be careful?" asked Terry.
"If your disrespectful to any of them, they'll know," said Blue.

"I see what you mean," said Phil.
"Then again an evil entity is liable to welcome another would be victim, it may appear to be a good ghost that was protecting you. Then when your guard is down, there will be no escape, not even including your death," said Blue.

"Do you intend to show us anywhere else?" asked Phil.
"Yes, the place I go to. You will like being there, now some of the beings there aren't your normal humans, two of them aren't human at all. But they are all good people," said Blue.

"So no evil ones?"
"No Phil, if they were evil, they wouldn't be allowed anywhere near the place. The other reason for going there, I asked Garet to find out about what you were searching for. He'll have probably asked Fred to help When has some news, he'll go there."

"Then lets go there," said Terry.
"See you later, Margaret," said Phil.
"Bye."
"You know, she is a nice person."

Blue, Terry and Phil materialised behind some bushes across the road.
"Why are we here?" asked Terry.
"I could have materialised on the steps, but if any-one saw us it would have scared them. Now we are thought of as normal people and that's if we are thought of at all, come on."

Blue took them to Hillhouse, opening the door to the museum she invited them in.
"What are we in here for?"
"To know who is here, take this mannequin for instance, the uniform is worn by the good guys."

"Just from the way you treated us, we knew that you were of a kre. Like many people, you have had your fair share of pain," said Terry.
"Do you know, this place isn't far from where we used to live," said Phil.

"I thought that," said Terry.
"Which way?" asked Blue.
"Further down the river," replied Phil.
"That'll be of help, when I asked Garet to help find the part of your mothers cross that was missing, he would have spoken to our friend in the Totnes police. How badly was your car damaged?"

"Beyond repair, but for spares it might have been okay, why?"
"I'm not saying this is so, but if the car was taken back to your families home, they may have the other part of the cross already. I'll call Garet."

Fred and Garet searched the car while Terry and Phil showed Blue their old favourite playing spots when they were children.
Fred called them over, holding the broken part of the cross. Terry said that he would go and get the bit they had.

"What will you do with both parts of the cross?" asked Blue.
"Leave them with our father," said Phil.
An hour later after their father got home from work. He sat at the kitchen table about to drink a cuppa, then he saw the cross, but he was unable to explain how, or why both parts of his it were on the kitchen table, in front of him.

OF FAITH, HOPE AND CHARITY
STONE LEIGH FOREST

Pitts and Blue were passing the day, sat in the office at Hillhouse
when the phone began to ring. Blue answered the phone, then
listened. When she put the phone down Pitts asked her.
"So, who was it?"
"That was Trudi, from Teignmouth."

"Oh yeah, I remember her, what did she want?"
"It was her visitor, he asked her to get some help from us. He
says he has been told of strangers being in the forests
near Stoneleigh."

"Best if we get Scherry to contact him, she'll know what to do."
"Trudi?, it's Pitts, I'll ask Scherry to get in touch with Pan."
After putting the phone down he rang through to the Manor.
"Scherry?, Trudi just called. Pan needs some help."
"Ok, leave it with me," said Scherry.

Scherry sat on a log near the edge of a clearing, at a riding
school near Stoneleigh. Watching a few children learning how
to ride a horse. She heard a muffled rustling behind her.
"You asked Trudi to get in touch with us Pan, so sit down."

"I just wanted to make sure it was you, there wouldn't be much
point me trying to sneak up on you."
"I've got eyes in the back of my head you know."
Pan sat beside her without making any reply.

"I hope they don't get confident on the horses," said Pan.
"Why not?"
"There's something in these forests. I've had a look but I can't
find anything."

"So how do you know there was something wrong?"
"Herne told me, there's areas in there where all the animals have
gone. He said that he caught a glimpse of something once,
which is why I asked Trudi to help. He thought it was a demon."

Scherry looked about.
"There isn't much point getting the Riders here, the canopy is a
bit dense in places. Mind you a couple with them might be
handy if a horse bolts."

"Should I leave it with you? should I ask Herne to stay around?"
"We'll deal with it, if the demons do attack Herne, I wouldn't
want that to happen to one of our friends."
"What about the kids?" asked Pan.

"It'll be taken care of."
That evening Scherry with Hope and Molly went up to the house
of the woman who was the owner instructor of the horse riding
school. The door was opened by the instructor.

"Hello, what can I do for you?"
"There's a couple of people that need some experience
with looking after horses, these two."
"I normally prefer to use people that need the experience, but
there's some local girls that help out here. I couldn't afford to
employ anyone else."

"I just want them to get the experience, payment isn't required."
"Do you want them to work with the horses, or the kids as well?"
"Anything and everything," said Scherry, "I'll leave that to you."
"That sounds good, how about a weeks trial?" asked Linda.

"That would be good, what time do you want them here?"
"Six thirty should do fine."
"My name is Scherry, this is Hope and Molly. I'm here on
business, but if you need to contact me ring these people, they
will pass the message on," Scherry gave her a business card.

"Thanks, I'm Linda."
Scherry, Hope and Molly walked away from the house, "as of
tomorrow I'll want one of you here at all times."
As soon as they were out of sight of the house they saw Angel
and Faith standing, waiting for them,

"What is it?" Molly asked.
"Nothing," replied Faith.
"Why are you here?" asked Molly.
"Nothing is happening, we came to see what you are doing."

"When I know what is happening, I'll tell you," said Scherry.
They walked on, then they disappeared, appearing in Hillhouse.
Linda went to her front room, she smiled at her husband, Danny.
"That was three women, two of them will be working here as of
tomorrow, the best bit is I don't have to pay them!"

"Who were they?" asked Danny.
"Never seen them before, here's a contact number," said Linda.
Danny looked at the card. "Oh, you know who they are?"
"No, what do you mean?"

"The number on here, it's The Myth Investigators."
"I don't know them," said Linda.
"But we do know of them, when Geoff and Sukie went there,
they told us about the goings on at that place. If they are up this
way then there's something near here, a case maybe. I don't care
if they sit all day and do nothing," said Danny.

Early in the morning Linda went to get the horses feed ready, she
saw Hope and Molly hand feeding the horses. Throughout the day
the horses seemed to be on their best behaviour, several times a
parent had mentioned how the two new girls were great with
the children. On one occasion, a horse bolted with a child on it's
back.

Linda got shivers up her back. Molly stood still in the field,
even though the horse ran away from her, it circled "˜round, then
trotted up to her, she helped the child off the horse which then
gently nuzzled the child, Molly helped the child on the horse,
they came back and carried on with the lesson.

Over the next three days Linda's curiosity grew, she noticed that
the pair of them seemed to have a natural ability to get the
horses to like them. Linda didn't believe it herself, but she saw
Molly hold an apple between her thumb and her forefinger and
the horse ate the apple like a person would.

On the fourth evening while Linda was unwinding from the day,
Danny came home a bit later than usual from his work.
"What time do those new girls finish?"
"They left at about four thirty today, why?"

"They must have come back then, 'cos I just saw them in the
main stable up there," Danny replied.
"I'd best go and see what they are doing."
Linda walked up to the stables, seeing both of them with the
horses, she went in.

"What are you two doing?"
"The horses were on edge all day, we came to make sure that
they have a good nights rest," said Hope, "why? were you on
edge as well?"

"Me, oh I think I saw something, in the trees that's all."
"Describe it to me," said Molly.
Linda looked at Molly, she felt a calmness.

"I only think I saw something, it was near a tree, it had brown
and green skin, it's hair seemed to be part of it's head. I don't
know how tall it was, as it was crouching down, this might
sound odd but there was a squirrel on a log next to it."

"Could be one of The We, it sounds like them."
Linda stepped back.
"That voice wasn't either of yours, neither of you spoke. What
exactly is going on?" asked Linda.
Hope looked to where Sue was, then to Molly.

"Scherry?"
Scherry walked in to the stables.
"What is it Hope?" asked Scherry.
"Where did you come from?"

"In a minute please, Linda has just described who she saw in the
edge of the forest today. Sue said it was one of The We.
"Who is Sue?" "In a minute Linda," said Scherry.
"Tell me as well," said Danny, "are you alright Linda?"

"I'm not to sure at the moment," replied Linda.
"I hope you two can keep a secret."
"If need be," said Danny, "is this a Myth Investigations thing?"
"Not yet, we'll need to see who Sue brings from the forest."

"What do you mean?"
"If what Linda described is correct, it'll be alright."
"But what I thought I saw wasn't human," said Linda.
"We have seen a few strange things," said Danny, "we even
thought about moving, but nothing comes past the fence line, so
for that reason, we didn't go."

"What sort of strange things have you seen in there?"
"Linda has seen, a strange animal. Once we took a break by the
fence, when we left, the track had changed," said Danny.
"How do you mean?, changed how?" asked Hope.

"When we sat down there was a bit of a clearing and a path at
it's end, when we left, the clearing and the path had gone."
"Hope, Molly, go to the fence, call to Sue, tell her to come out,
get her to follow the sound of your voice," said Scherry.

After nearly fifteen minutes they were all stood by the fence,
waiting for Sue. Danny had gone back to the house, made them
a drink, brought it back and they'd drunk it.
Scherry gazed at the floor.

"Linda, Danny," said Scherry, "this may be a surprise for you,
we're not here by accident."
"Your connected with the Myth Investigators, as far as we are
concerned anything else is ok," replied Linda.

"If it only were that simple, the Myth Investigators are good.
Thing is, that is a cover. Hope and Molly are demon hunters."
"Those at Kenilworth, Wadebridge, Stonehenge, Cambridge?"
"Yes."

"Hope is the one that was seen? that uniform in the museum
at Totnes, that is hers?"
"No, there are many who wear that uniform. Listen, please do
not be afraid, you are safe here. Molly, Can you hear or see Sue?"

"No, not yet."
"How do you expect them to see in the dark?" asked Danny.
"Hope, Molly, change. Danny, Linda, it is ok to be surprised."
"What the! did the just fence go?"

"I'll put it back later," said Scherry.
"I heard about your problem," said The General of the Elite.
"And where did she come from?"

Hope took Danny and Linda aside, she told them that all would
be explained to them. But right now they needed to concentrate.
"The paths change, we could ignore the paths and begin a
normal search.

The big problem is Sue probably doesn't know
that the paths change, she could be coming back but the path
could be taking her elsewhere." said Hope, "another thing to
consider is what if Sue is ok and she is unaware of our concern
and is putting the problem right as we speak."

"So, what should we do?"
Hope and Molly talked over the situation.
"Has any-one tried contacting Sue?" asked Molly.
"That's been done, but there's no answer," said Scherry.

"In that case, get two hundred Riders and begin a slow sweep."
"Just one other thing, Scherry, if you get Curremy to come here
there might be something stopping your thoughts," said Molly.
"What makes you think that?"

"The paths change, that could be because of the forest. There's
also a possibility that something in the forest is protecting itself."
"Hadn't considered that one, I've called Curremy to be here.
How should this be done?" asked Scherry.

"Molly follows Curremy, above the trees. Danny and Linda
should stay here with you Scherry, we each go six paces in, keep
the next person in sight. When Curremy is ready you think to
each other. When we come out, you compare notes," said Hope.

Hope's suggestion was done, when they had returned Curremy
declared she hadn't heard anything from Scherry, yet Scherry
stated that she had tried to contact Curremy.

"There is another problem here, I'd suggest lights were used if
we knew what was in there. It may be the forest is enchanted, it
could be that the trees are causing the effect, it might be demons,
if so, if Sue's trying to stay safe we'd be endangering her."

"But Sue is an immortal, there isn't a problem," said Curremy.
"That depends, when we die, we return to begin life at a safe
place. Does Sue?" "No, but she can be invisible."

"Linda said that she saw a demon in there, why don't you go and
get one of them," said Molly. "Done," replied Curremy and Scherry.
When Curremy and Scherry returned, Linda was taken aback.
"That is one of them," said Linda.

"That is odd, then. None of us are missing," said Her.
"But if none of you are missing, who is in here?"
"And there's still no Sue."

"I wonder," said Her, "a long time ago a few of us went missing,
we never found them, no animals ever told us of them."
"So how about a change, if we get the rest of The We here. A
few Riders to guide and make reports, use the cavalry three
paces apart with The We behind them, then at first light the
soldiers do another sweep behind the cavalry," said Hope.

"The chances are Sue has found those of The We and is chatting
quite happily with them, but if she is lost, it might be a good idea
to get Garet here," said Molly.
"Either way, would it be ok for Her to be here, with us."

"Yes, but right now Curremy is in there looking for Sue, lets
give her till sun up before we go in," replied Scherry.
Danny came back from the house with some more hot drinks for
them. Scherry was first to see movement from within the forest.

"It's Curremy." As Curremy moved towards her Scherry heard
her thinking to her, but it was only part of a sentence. Scherry
waited until Curremy was close enough to hear her.
"I only heard part of what you said, from the Forest."

"As I thought, it is the forest. As soon as the first tree line is
passed we'd need to talk aloud. How-ever I saw a different
demon in there, he asked if I knew of the hunters. He wants to
speak to Sandra."

"Why? who is he?" asked Scherry. "He didn't say his name, but
you wouldn't forget him. He has two heads."
Sandra was instantly with them, only she was holding two cups
of tea. "Where?, right, Scherry, these are for Richard and Dani."

"Curremy? will you deliver the tea's?" asked Scherry.
"What do you want me here for?"
"There's a being with two heads who wants a talk," said Scherry.
"Look on the bright side I'm not in the forest anymore."
Sandra looked to where the voice came from. "How are you here?"

"There are some here who have enabled me to be here, home
isn't home as it used to be. Now don't get me wrong, the new
residents of Hell are nice people, the Illyrii have every thing you
would want as people. But now, because of the evil having gone,
yes Scherry that which is the non corporeal of evil has gone from
hell. That was told to me by the guardians of Hell."

"Who? are they like our friend here?" Scherry indicated Her.
He looked at Scherry, both his heads looked confused.
"This I do not understand. The guardians of Hell are here, yet
they are not," he peered into Sandra's mind, "their names are

Garet and Charity, they are both dressed the same, yet they were
not here before Sandra. They don't know of them-selves?"
Two blue domes of light appeared as the Goddess Turee and
Goddess T'ara took form amongst them.

"When we heard of you needing to be here, we wanted this to be,
we have hoped for this." said Goddess T'ara.
"Scherry, unknown to you, just after you became a Goddess.

Two of the army of Combe were chosen to be here, their leader
and the weapons maker who were, and are Garet and Charity, as
they have always been. Charity is a sister to the first of my earth
children, she was and is the first of The army of Combe, she is
known as Holly-Marie, soon she will be with herself, as herself.
Goddess Turee smiled at Holly-Marie, my daughter."

Charity looked at those around her, as from the forest came
Holly Marie, she walked into her sister and they became as one.
"Garet, you are of me," said The Goddess T'ara, "take your
place as a member of the Elite. Sue, would you like to have

Garet as your guard? Her, please go and make friends again with
The We who are here. Tell them they do not need to move, the
animals may return," said Goddess Medusera.

"I was told they need to move on as they have no more land to
grow food here, that is why the animals try to find a new home
for them," said Her.
"Excuse me, but these er, who are they?" asked Danny.
"They are The We," replied Her.

"Okay, it's just that Linda and I have some fenced horse
paddocks that we aren't using at the moment, we were thinking
of rotating them so that the horses have feed, if something can
be worked out, we don't like seeing odd things in the forest. If
we met then they wouldn't be odd," said Linda.

"They are as I am," said Her, "we are good at growing plants,
there is plenty of space here, in fact, Sue, if you could bring You
here. If Linda and Danny agree to this, those of us at the other
place need to move. If we moved here then we could be with
our own again," said Her.

"That's alright with us, we want wood to burn so if you tell me
which trees to cut down, that'll help the forest. We've got spare
land for you to grow food, if they horses get some that's a bonus,
I think we can come to an agreement," said Linda.

"I think Danny may have meant them, Anne," said Sandra
Anne looked along the edge of the forest, she saw two figures
but they were to far away for her to recognise them. She called

Hope to be with her and Sandra. As Hope had been talking to
Faith and Buffy they came with her. "What is it?" Buffy asked.
"Those two, down there, will you come with Sandra and me."
"Yeah, sure Anne," replied Faith.

The five of them wandered to where the figure were, yet as they
got closer they one, reaching them.
"How did you do that?" asked Faith.

"When we joined? she was the last of my children, she wanted
to be as one with me again. Like me, she wanted to die. I don't
think that I can, but I told her I could so that she could let go."
"Who are you?" asked Sandra, "and why do you want to die."

"I have lived a long life, and now I have seen all my children die,
I don't know how I can though."
"You said that before, how long have you lived?, why would
you even think you cannot die?" asked Anne.
"I was once known to friends as Rosey, but that was not me.

I was the first, my children are taken from me as punishment.
Yet even when I had decided to come here to end my existence,
it doesn't work."
"I know who you are," said Buffy.

"Buffy? who, who is she then?" asked Sandra.
She looked at Hope, you are a demon hunters, yet you lower
yourself to talk with me?, oh, you will be the seventh, do you
know when?" she asked. Then she dropped to her knees.

"What is happening Hope?" asked Anne.
"I don't know, the seventh what?" asked Hope.
"There are some here who will help you, they can take you to
another, who if you say the right words, she will help you.

Sandra, tell the Goddesses Turee and T'ara that Anne found the
first, she who was known as Rosey. Tell them she might is
ready to go home," said Faith.

No sooner had Sandra passed on the message than they vanished
as did the woman in front of Anne.
May ran into the main office at Hillhouse, calling to Graeves.
"Get everybody out of the building!, get them away from here,
start the fire alarms, anything."

"But then the fire brigade get here, if you don't want people here
you'll be defeating your objective."
"That won't be a problem, by the time they get here Goddess
Curremy will have put a barrier around Hillhouse, they won't be
able to see this place," said May.

Graeves knew what was being told,
"An official appearance?"
"It might be," replied May.
Hillhouse was cleared ready for them.
The Goddesses T'ara and Turee appeared by May, Faith and

Buffy were to be the witnesses.
"Do you wish to go home?" asked May.
"I have seen much, I have done more, more than he should know.
Why would he consider wanting me back?"

"Because Buffy told me of what you did for your last child, that
has allowed you to begin the road home. He has waited a long
time, they would have waited longer. They always had the hope
and now that hope is strong, they are glad," said May.

"Then, I will try to be who he that is they wants me to be."
Goddess Curremy put a barrier around Hillhouse. Graeves had
stayed inside the barrier; watching Hillhouse. Even though there
was no brightness it grew harder to look at Hillhouse, the
intensity of the clear light hurt his eyes. Then it was gone.

"Who was she Hope?" asked Anne.
"Tell her Hope," said Goddess Medusera.
"Remember Graeves telling us of the memory line for the stone
circles, of the strange girl in the village who was different."
"hat," replied Anne, "And the girl's name was?"
"Oh, but she said that was the name she was known as."

"Yes, Rosey was more than the first for that, it was from her the
rib was removed, not from him. She was indeed the first, she
was the creator of the demons, she was herself a demon, the
first vampire. All the vampires that have ever been, they are her
children.

But now she knows the time is of the past, she has been
allowed to return to where she came from. As for the seventh,
wait and you will know soon."
"She knew of that."

"Yes, and more, maybe everything."
"Everything?" asked Buffy.
"I know who you are, and who you were. I often watched you, as
I watched my children be killed by you. I was to busy laughing
in those days at Willy's Bar. And now, I wish it would all go."

"The hope is strong in her."
"Yes, good, but what is her real name?" asked Anne.
"She has been known by several names, by many millions of
people through-out time, yet the name she chooses is Lilith."

The Goddesses smiled at Hope.
"Hope, we know that some mention was made of your age, since
you have become immortal that is not so, yet here you stood as
a helper to she who is the oldest of your kind." Goddess T'ara
faced the Goddess Medusera, I believe that in this world seven
is considered a lucky number."

Scherry smiled, agreeing with the Goddess Turee.
"And it will be."

OF FAITH, HOPE AND CHARITY

THE RED LIGHT SHOW

In the TV room at Maidenscombe Manor, the Goddess T'ara
had convinced the new Merry Maidens that something new,
or totally unexpected could be around the next corner and
as such she got them to watch the DVD of the film, 'The
Final Count Down'.

"Is there any reason you want us to watch this film?"
asked Nanette.
"Sort of, I want you to be open to the idea that something
new it could be around the next corner."

"I could be wrong, it's just that I thought there might be a
specific reason," said Nanette.
"If anything, because the evil is being defeated, something
new may surface. For that reason alone you may have to be
open to a new type of evil."

Garet found an old copy of The Way Of Wyrd at the local
library and was deeply engrossed, so much he didn't notice
Goddess Medusera appearing in front of him, not ten feet
from him.
"I hope that that is a good book?"

"Huh, oh sorry. What do you want?"
"Remember the devil that was hit near Dunchurch? well she
has just been found."
"I hope you got rid of her," said Garet.

"No, I didn't, but I did get the Goddess Curremy to put a
force barrier around her."
"Why? where is she?"
"She is upstairs," replied the Goddess Medusera.

"What? why?"
"I would like to know who it was that beat her senseless.
The Elite have put three of their kind on permanent guard
in the room, two more guard the door. Only they can get
in or out, so don't try and warn the others here."

"If some-one tries to go in by accident, what then?"
"There are two who will tell you to go back."
"Who are they?" asked Garet.
"Both the Generals of Byzantium, Angel and Faith. The area
past them is protected, if the wrong person goes into it,
that'll be the last thing they do."
"What do you mean?" asked Garet.

"Even if they are immortal, eternal or a Goddess. Nothing
will save them."
"I'll put a sign there, who is questioning her?"
"You don't understand, when I say she was beaten
senseless I really mean she was beaten senseless, from
the state of her, there could be something really bad."

"What? another evil did it?"
"Another evil, yes. I don't think it was another devil. If
another evil was to battle with her and win. Her power
would be taken, then she'd have been left to fend for
herself. No, this is something else."

That afternoon Dawn was looking around in the office at
Hillhouse.
"You've got problems, what are they?" asked May.
"There's a lot of coincidences here, to many," said Dawn.
"Really? what are they?"

"Stoneleigh isn't that far from Leek Wootton, Epimetheus!"
"That's right," said May.
"Then there's the problems we had near Leamington a while
ago." "I wonder if they are all part of the same thing,"
said Dawn.

"Maybe, but two things don't make a pattern, at most
they'd have a connection that'd be a straight line."
"There was the battle at Kenilworth."
"Now that makes a pattern, I wonder, it's as though there's

a pull. What about Graeves? has he been affected, oh, get
a message Carrisma and Paul, see if June or Stewart are
still there, cos that June would have felt the pull if it was
to be felt."
"Will do, and it's June and Stewart," said Dawn.

Some-one they hadn't met before came in to Hillhouse, he
walked up to them. Dawn casually looked up at him, she
became the Goddess Dawn then went to him. As she knelt
to him she saw that May was beside her.

"How do you know who they are?" whispered Dawn.
"Who do you think wanted me to watch over the pendant?"
"The hope that was released, it gets stronger, thank you."
Just after he went out of Hillhouse the room was
illuminated with White and Blue.

As he had left Dawn felt comfortable enough to change.
"I felt a need to be here, why?" asked Goddess T 'ara.
"He was here, as they!" exclaimed Dawn, "what I don't
understand is how May knew of him?"

"If the evil was suddenly to become a threat to this world,
and the evil appeared as though it could win, then we
would tell May first," said Goddess T'ara.
"Then she is....."

"Like he is they, Dawn, names that should not be spoken,"
said The Goddess T'ara.
Goddess Turee appeared, "was he here? what did he say?"
"He gave thanks for the hope," replied Goddess T'ara.

"He went upstairs, didn't he T'ara?" asked Goddess Turee.
"How do you mean?"
Angel came to speak with them.
"Angel! what did he say?"

"He went in and out without speaking to me. But I could
he was happy. He chose to speak to Faith, she told me
this. Now there will be two who will be as they were. That
and he wanted me to give his thanks to Aradia and Dianah,"
said Angel.

Turee looked to T'ara and smiled.
Graham came through from the kitchen.
"Tea and cakes all round?"
"Oh Graham, thanks. Tea and cakes all round," said May.
"Did I hear some-one mention a cup of tea?" asked Garet.

"Didn't think you'd want one."
"And ruin a perfectly good stereo-type?"
"Who left the intercom to the museum on?" asked Graham.
"Best get a cup for Chaser, she's in the office," suggested
Garet quite happily to Graham.

May began to air a few thoughts.

"I think that the other places should report any evil. It
doesn't matter if it's a case of the evil has gone, or it's
something that they've never seen before."
"What do you mean by that?" asked Dawn.

"That was what Blue said of, it could be that the evil is
starting to fade. This could be a busy time, demons that
we have never seen before may be seen. Will one of you
Goddesses go and see June, find out if she has felt anything.
It may be a good idea to get all the humans here, so that
we know where they are.

Get a message to Hope, tell her to visit that reporter she
knows. Garet, contact the police at Rugby."
"Anything specific that your thinking of May?" asked Garet.
"It may be that there won't be a......all those of demonic
intent may know what is happening and rise up," said May.

Scherry, change and get the armed forces to be ready. Go
and see Caravel let her know what may happen."
The phone rings, Chaser answers the incoming call.
"Chaser?, it's Dave, the Totnes police."

"Hello, can I help, is it a Myth thing or a social call?"
"A bit of both really, something I've noticed in the area
and I've just had a call from the Winterbourne police. It
seems they've had no crime lately. Sgt. Bertrand wants to
know if you people have anything to do with it."

"I'll get back to you soon," replied Chaser.
As Chaser was entering the Staff room she heard T'ara
talking.
"We need another meeting, if it's like the last one we may
attract the demons."

"Then why not announce having a meeting in several places,
there's the Merry Maiden's stone circle, Stonehenge, The
Rollright stones, Glastonbury Tor, Kenilworth Castle. Just a
thought but can you change the colour of your domes of
light, to a red dome?" asked Garet.

"Why would you want to do that?" asked Chaser.
"To confuse any demons that might see it," replied Garet.
The phone began to ring again. As Chaser was going to
answer it.

"Garet, Dave wants you to call him, he wants to know why
the crime rate is dropping, in some areas it's stopped
altogether."
Picking up the phone, "I need to speak to the Goddess
Medusera, fast. It"˜s Carrisma."

Chaser rang through to the Staff room, "Carrisma wants to
speak to the Goddess Medusera, it sounds important."
"Carrisma, it's Scherry, what is it?"
"It's about June being a vampire, the thing is when the

person died and became one of the undead, the living being
of her, didn"˜t the evil take her place? Could she have been
cured of the demonic possession, will she be human again?"
asked Carrisma.
"Not that I've heard of, except for Pitts, Darla, Dani and
Leia, why?"

"Can you explain how this could happen then?. June got
caught out in the sunlight, she was doing some repairs to
one of the farm buildings when part of the roof collapsed.
Now she wants to know why the sunlight had no effect on
her?"

"WHAT!, she's still alive?"
"Yes, and she stood in the sunlight, with no reaction."
The message Carrisma told Medusera was relayed to the
Goddess T'ara, who looked to May.
"Medusera, go to be with her. I'll pass on any answers."

"I think some questions are in order May."
As they looked at her, there was two of her, then one
vanished.
"Oh well, my timing is out, never mind," said May.
"What did you find out?"

"All vampires that want to be on our side are not vampires,
in the beginning there will be no evil, only demon hunters."
"Carrisma, did you hear that?" asked Chaser.
"I never thought I'd walk in the sunlight again either,

I'll go and tell her and I'll stand outside when I tell her.
Thanks, oh and pass the message on."
"The message is known to they, and Goddess Medusera
should be with you," replied May.

"The devil you found, it had its demonic self removed by
force, because of what it wanted to do, it will not remain
on earth, it will not be an outcast from him soon," said May,
"the day of forgiveness begins."

"Garet, what you said earlier, about the red dome. Be sure
to understand me, she isn't a Goddess, but Molly and Hope
together can, if they both want it, cause a red dome to
occur," said May.

"In that case, if the four coloured domes appeared at those
places, it would create a lot of interest. How about putting
Berry Pomeroy Castle on that list? maybe as the first. That
was the first place where the evil leaving was known of,"
said Garet.

Sgt. Bertrand was having a quiet five minutes in the car
park behind the Winterbourne police station, out of the
corner of his eye he noticed a woman walking towards him,
taking another mouthful of tea.

"Can I help you?" he asked.
Not hearing a reply he turned to see who she was.
"Hope!, good to see you. What can I do for you?"
"Have a person at the stones for the next few days, there
is liable to be a big light show soon."

"Is that just a light show, or more?"
"Just a light show for now, I cannot tell you if more will be
later if more to follow, it could be big. I'll see you soon."
Sgt. Bertrand was once again by himself.
Yulanda and Jeff were concentrating on a film that was
running through the editing machine.

"I wouldn't know what to do with all these slides, switches
and dials," said Hope, "hello Yulanda."
"And you are? what department are you from?"
"Hope!" Jeff looked at her, "what brings you here?"
"Hope, Yulanda is our replacement for Tina. Yulanda, Hope
is one of the demon hunters."

Jeff stared at what he was doing, realising what he had just
said, "sorry," he turned to Hope, "whatever you want,
whatever you want us to do, we will do it."
"I was wondering, are you going to do a story near Lands
End soon?" asked Hope.

"I was due to do a feature on a stone circle near Penzance,
some time next week," said Yulanda.
"If it's the Merry Maidens stone circle, don't go to near,
you will be stopped. How-ever, if you were to be in the
area you may get a good light show from early
tomorrow night."

"What else........Hope? where's she gone?" asked Jeff.
He looked to Yulanda.
"Did she just warn us?"
"I take it, I'm going to Lands End tomorrow?.

The daylight had begun to fade, Kenilworth Castle walls
were turning to a brown. Sarah's uncle had just parked the
car at the end of Barn Close, they had gone to stand near
her aunt. Sarah was showing her aunt and uncle where she
was when she saw the flying creatures with people on
them before.

Her aunt was about to ask her about it when the air was
filled with the sound of rushing air, the sky filled with a
brilliant red light. Before they could speak another word,
the sky filled with white, then yellow, then blue. Sarah
looked to her aunt and uncle.
"What do you think, was that, or was that amazing?"

Gavin and Jill were just locking their photographic equipment
shop, they had some wonderful photographs of the Outer
Hebrides on sale and of the bird life on the island. When the
whole area around them turned red. They looked to each
other then turned to the castle, just as more colours filled
the evening sky.

"They've started again," said Gavin.
"We should go there, I want to see Sandra again," said Jill.
A figure began to emerge near to them, as the light faded
they recognised their old friend Sandra. "It is good to see
you again."

Resplendent in her full battle-dress. Jill looked as Sandra
smiled to her, turned. Raised up her arm, Jill caught a
glimpse of another's hand on Sandra's fore arm before she
vanished.

Sgt Susan Phipps had been called from London to stay at
the stones with a PC David Roberts. They spent ten minutes
putting "˜GO SLOW' signs next to all roads around Stonehenge
"I have only been in this job for four weeks and they get me

minding a stone-circle. Do they expect them to get up and
go for a walk?" asked PC Roberts.
"I don't think these will ever go, they are to important."
"Important to who?"

"Them. So tell me where are you from?" asked Sgt. Phipps.
"Just in Winterbourne, the new Sergeant sent me here for
the night. Lucky aren"˜t I."
"Depends how you see it, last time I came here, I saw what
was here to help us, who's the sergeant?" asked Sgt. Phipps

"It's Stephen Bertrand."
"What! I remember him, good on him. When this place went
of before, he saw a lot, he talked with them that day."
She heard her name on the police radio. "Sgt. Phipps?"
"Here."

"Hello, this is Sgt. Bertrand of the Winterbourne police. I
hope you are sitting comfortably, because I received a visit
from Hope, she said the stones will light up, big time. I'm
thinking fairly soon."
She quickly told David to be ready.

"How would he know?" asked PC Roberts.
She was about to tell David when a small dome of red light
appeared in the middle of the stone circle, then the whole
sky was lit up with blue, white and yellow. They hid the

stars from their eyes. Then the darkness returned, leaving
the small red dome of light, then that vanished.
"What caused that?"
"Something is going on," replied Susan.

The cleaner of the fire station in Truro was standing in front
of the station talking to two of the firemen.
"It's eight thirty, the sky should be dark now."
The light stopped and darkness returned. They gazed at him.

He returned the gaze with a smile.
"I wish I could have a hundred thousand pounds in a suit-
case at my feet," said the cleaner. The firemen looked to
the cleaners feet. "Worth a try," he said.

Yulanda watched, white light fade, then yellow filled the sky.
"Look, what's that?" asked the sound recordist.
"I can't tell it's to far away," said the camera operator.
"Yulanda, put it on the screen, try and zoom in on it."
Yulanda brought it up on the screen, then zooming in.

"What the!," she exclaimed, "it's a flying unicorn."
She stared at the crew.
"Hope!, why did you tell this to us?" asked Yulanda.
"Got to say it, I do agree with you. I've seen and done a
lot, but this is, well," said her cameraman.

"It could be a lead up to the real reason we are here. They
could be planning something else. They might be doing
something that we'll be involved in."
"If that is it, why this?"

"It could be a secret, well sort of, I wonder if they want this
or its effects on TV. That unicorn may have been just for us
to see," said the camera man.
"Why would they do that?"

"There's something bigger coming? The light show, the
unicorn, Oh my God! there's going to be another Kenilworth,
not at Kenilworth, could be anywhere," said the camera man.
"Until it's...no!, they are confusing their enemy."

"I can understand that," said Yulanda.
"So get the best footage we can."
"Why let us know?"
"We picked the long straw?"

"It was because of Tina. The demon hunter Hope, she and
Tina were almost friends," said the sound recordist.
"I think your right," replied the camera man.
"Hope came to Jeff and me in the viewing room, for that to

happen it could be important. We've had reports of a down-
turn in the crime rate, what if they have gone something.
What if the meeting is about the end."
"How will we know?" asked the sound recordist.

"I'll ask if we can film them. If they say yes, we've got an
answer," replied Yulanda.
"That won't work, they'll tell us if they want us to know
something," said the camera man.

At Hillhouse, in the main office, Garet sat quietly pondering
the various locations for the meeting. Scherry was amused
at the many expressions Garet was making.
"I've just had an idea, you said about that Father Bryant,

what if the meeting was in that church in Leamington.
Initially I could be seen as an obvious place for the meeting.
It may be to obvious, making it a good place for the
meeting especially as it is in the middle of a town. It's an

unlikely place for the Goddesses to choose, there's been no
light shows there. If the light shows could be continued in
those other places during the meeting."
"You could be right there Garet, it would be the last place

a demon would think of and the continuing light shows would
keep them away," said Scherry.
"What if we did big show could be somewhere that isn't at a
stone circle, isn't too close to where people are, purely to
confuse our enemy," said Garet.

"When the meeting is starting there will be no display, when
we finish, we announce ourselves in a really big way that will
be noticed."
"Basic battle tactic, rub their nose in their mistakes and
hope they react in anger, thereby making them make more
mistakes," agreed Garet.

The Godde€™ara was sitting in the book room at
Maidenscombe Manor, relaxing. She felt comfortable enough
in herself to be as her mortal persona, Tara. Nanette
approached her, this answers part of my questions.

"What is it Nanette?" asked Tara.
"About what you said before, for us to be available to the
idea that there could be something new.
I mentioned it to Charity, we discussed a few things, then

Charity said about that devil that was being held at Hillhouse
Daphne said about June suddenly being ok to be in the
sunlight well we got to thinking that they could be linked."
"Meaning?"

"Could it be that the evil is systematically leaving the evil
beings. Charity said about the hope from Tintagel, she
wondered if all vampires have had every last bit of demon
removed from them, and if so are we affected. Can we still
use the stone circles?"

The Goddess thought about what had been suggested then
vanished. Returning a few minutes later.
"It isn't as bad as you asked, as the demon hunters will be
able to use the stone circles as transport, but all vampires
are changed."

When the Goddess T'ara went back to tell Nanette she
found her with Charity and Maude. Maude asked the
Goddess if the devil could have known the evil was leaving
her, as that would explain the battering she had, as being
self inflicted.

OF FAITH, HOPE AND CHARITY
AN END

Hope met Tom in the entrance hall of Maidenscombe Manor.
"Hello, I came here to see if one of the Merry Maidens could come
with me today," said Hope.
"Why do you need her, for help or do you want to show her
something?" asked Tom.

"I'd like her assistance and her views on some things."
"Are you thinking, what I think you are thinking?"
"If my thoughts are that transparent, then yes Tom," replied Hope.

"Who and where?" asked Tom.
"I'd like it to be Charity, to meet PC David Roberts and Sgt Phipps."
"You have plans?"
"No, but if needed, contact will help both sides."

"Sorry, I didn't know it was for "˜official business', when would you
want her?"
"I will arrange for Sgt Phipps to be there. Get Charity to be here now."
As Charity got to them, Hope said to Tom, "Now we go."

Leaning against a police car. "Okay, but if I go with Lester and
Charles, the experience would be good for all of us," said PC Roberts.
He saw them walking towards him.
"Who are you people?"

"Tell Sgt. Bertrand that Darla, Hope and Charity are here."
PC Roberts looked suspiciously at them, then went into the station.
"Some people to see you sir."
"Who are they," replied Sgt Bertrand, without looking up from what
he was doing.

"One of them said she is Darla, the others are Hope and Charity."
"Know any one by the name Darla?" asked Sgt Phipps.
"Only one," Sgt. Bertrand turning to look at her, "Goddess Darla."
They both got up, walking quickly to the door.

"Going out side?" asked Hope, "We have come here to see the both
of you, but mainly so that your PC Roberts can meet Charity."
"He won't like me for this."

"PC David Roberts and Sgt. Bertrand don't see eye to eye on many
things. David is due to go and visit an elderly man who has got a bit
obnoxious in his treatment of local government people. This could
have been an easy day out for him."

"You want me to meet these people sir," said PC Roberts.
"They want to meet you. If it was up to me, you'd never meet
these people."
"Sir?"

"It was because of these people that I became a sergeant. Come on,
let's go into my office."
"I'm sorry, we need to leave you now, I have just been told by Dawn
that Peter Featheringue is ready to see us," said Darla.
"Sir, who are they? That is the name of the man where we were due
to go."

"Hope, he is due to be evicted today," said Sgt Phipps.
"No, he won't be, he is too important," said Darla, "then we need to
go now."
"If I may," interrupted Sgt Bertrand," I'd suggest that Charity and
Hope go in a police car with PC Roberts. Darla if you would wait a
minute, in my office."

"I will go with you Darla," said Sgt Phipps.
"Something you should be aware of with PC Roberts, he see's witches
as nothing more than fairy tale creatures that live in children's stories."

"Then he is in for a rude awakening, today," said Darla, "now I need to
go, excuse me."
Darla became the Goddess Darla and disappeared with Sgt Phipps.
The old wooden door opened, in the half light stood an old man, bent
with the passing of time. He looked at Darla.

"It is good to see you again, an old face is welcome. The last time we
met, you wanted my help. Your choice of friends has changed now,
this one is a lot younger," said Mr Featheringue.
"I have changed since we last met, now I am here to help you, with
me is Sgt Phipps, she is a police officer.

"A vampire, friends with a police-woman?" asked Peter.
"Times have changed, you remember my friend Amanda and he who
said he was her husband, he is known as Graeves and he is a valued
friend, a see-er to the demon hunters."

"Excuse me, you are both confusing me, I do not know about vampires.
As far as I know, I have never met one."
"Miss, you are standing next to a vampire."
"I'm sorry Mr Featheringue, but I only know her as the Goddess
Darla," said Sgt. Phipps.

"Your a Goddess? when?, how?, why?"
"None of that matters, right now, today, I am here to help you."
A police car draws up in the courtyard, out gets PC Roberts with Hope
and Charity.
"How did you get here so fast?"

"Who are they?" asked Peter Featheringue.
"These are Hope and Charity, they are Merry Maidens."
"Is that meant to mean something?" asked PC Roberts.
"When I have explained a few more things, it will."
"Like what?"

"For one, why the local government people aren't coming. When
you've been properly introduced to Hope and Charity. Why you have
been seen as fit to become friends with Charity and why you will
change your mind about witches."

"You can forget about the last one, witches and the like, that's all
hocus pocus," replied PC Roberts.
"Not the best thing to say to these people," said Sgt. Phipps.
"You know, I've just had a thought, who told the local government
people not to be here?" asked Darla.

"That's a point, who was it?"
"David, would you have preferred it if Peter hadn't been asked to
move on?"
"It isn't part of my job, one way or the other. I'm here just in case
there is a problem, why?"

"I was told that Karen wanted Peter to stay here, I'd prefer that as
well. What about you Charity."
"Sure, no reason for him to move on. I don't know why he had to
move in the first place, what are you thinking?" asked Charity.

"I know it has started, maybe it has already reached a high
point," said Darla.
"Meaning?"
"It could have happened, hope might be in all of us."

"I think that there will be a hope in all of us soon," said
Peter Featheringue.
"Are you ready to assume the honour of being the Unicorn of the
Cotswold Witches, Peter."

The air around Darla grew brighter, as Darla became Goddess Darla,
her light pierced the shadows.
"Darla, Sgt. Bertrand just called, the stones at Stonehenge have just
started to glow," shouted Sgt Phipps, "Oh, your Goddess Darla."

The Goddess Darla did as she had agreed to do, she made them all
re-appear near the stone circle.

Hope and Molly went and stood at the middle, Molly looked about to
make sure they were in the middle, facing Hope she recoiled as the
daylight became red. Molly ran, running towards the others, Goddess
Darla caught her, as she almost ran past them.

The light faded as the whole sky glowed a deep red. Domes of white,
yellow and then blue light flashed around the stones.
"What is happening?" asked PC Roberts.
"Still think tales of witches are hocus pocus?"
"Your trying to tell me they are witches," said PC Roberts

"Oh no, they are way beyond that, they are Goddesses."
"Now I know, I mean I always thought that seven was a lucky
number, now I know it is. It's Hope, the light is coming from her,
she's the one," said Molly.

Sgt. Bertrand had just got there, he'd seen the colours in the
sky, he didn't know it, but he'd just witnessed the becoming of a
new Goddess.
At Hillhouse the next morning Blue walked in, she went to the office,
seeing Garet there.

"Just who I hoped I'd see. We had a phone call earlier, that's a
thought, it was a phone call! the stones weren't used, I didn't see
Dani or Leia this morning. all is quiet at Tintagel as well. Can you find
out what's happening?" asked Blue.

"Will do, oh mind your back, it's a couple of customers. Can I help you?"
"The bill was short by fifty pence, here it is. The girl said she'd charge
us less because it took her too long to let us have our cakes."

"Thanks," said Garet.
"That was nice of them," said Blue.
"But they are the second couple to do that this morning," replied
Garet, "it's like the quiet before a storm, isn't it?"

May came from the museum.
"Do you know what's happening May? there's no one about, none of
the Goddesses have been here Blue was saying there's no hunters
there, thinking about it, there isn't any here either and there's been
no use of the stone circle."

"That isn't surprising," said May.
"Why's that?"
"Only some one with demon in them can use the stones, there isn't
any one about, now. Only a few of the Riders and those at
Maidenscombe Manor."

"What do you mean?" asked Thomson.
"I've got the sign that it's all over, yesterday," said May.
"What? what's over. Oh hi, what are you guys here for?"
"Angel, Faith, Buffy, how's things with you?" asked May.

"Now all's quiet we thought we'd get a cuppa tea here," said Angel.
"Come on then, lets get a cup of tea," said Thomson.
While waiting for the tea May asked Angel what was his best
memory.

He thought a while then said of why Buffy killed him sending him to
hell, and of how he was rescued from hell. He recalled how he was
being tortured by demons, and had been for decades.

He said how he first saw the twenty foot demon standing in front of
him, of it staring at him. He recalled wanting the pain to stop then
looking into its eyes he saw Faith. Just as it tore the demons torturing
him to shreds, literally.

Then carrying his torn body out to the entry of hell he recalled seeing
the Goddesses Medusera and Turee waiting for him, "they healed my
wounds." "Then I saw the demon shrink to be Faith," she smiled as
Goddess Turee sent me back to Sunnydale, free of the memory of
what had happened.

Faith said about the time in late July of 1588 when the Spanish army
of fifty thousand Spaniards had landed in Britain using their Armada as
a cover. She didn't like the terror they caused while advancing to
London, killing everything that was seen.

But what happened when the Spanish saw Stonehenge.
Faith sat back in her chair, had a mouthful of the tea.
Of how she and Angel had chosen who would confront the Spanish
by guessing which hand Goddess Turee had the blade of grass in.

She recalled how she had walked into the Spanish camp right up to
their leader, telling him to leave and that he would not be allowed to
touch any of the stones of Stonehenge, he killed her. He was more
than a bit surprised to see me again later that night.

I told him go back, or that they would be forced to go back as the sun
rose. Needless to say his army was still there in the morning when the
sun rose. I stood on the hill overlooking the Stone circle, with the
Goddesses Medusera, Curremy Turee and T'ara, Angel and Buffy.

The ten thousand lines of ten thousand behind me and three thousand
Riders in the skies, of those that had been sent by the Queen of
England who were watching. I can still feel their surprise as King
Arthur and two hundred of his soldiers rode through their tents then
through their very bodies, charging into the camp of the Spanish.

Of the war cry of Byzantium, starting at the back line, each would
slap their leather, then as the last line was done the Goddesses Turee
and T'ara allowed their domes of blue light to engulf the Spanish army
and place them in Spain.

"That is the only time that all the Armed Forces of Byzantium and
Bouicandeni had been called to one place," said Angel.
"You know I often wondered if the Queen of England ever realised that
we were there to save Stonehenge, that Stonehenge is England's
g" said Buffy.

"How about you Buffy?" asked May.
Buffy said the memory should would always have was when facing the
Illyrii, of how Krait and Caravel were going to honour Saffron, that time
lasted but a few seconds or it was the times I spent with Willow, even
though I didn't know that I was me or that Willow was as Goddess
Turee," said Buffy.

Blue walked up to them.
"May?, what was the sign that you said about earlier?"
"Remember how the number seven was supposed to be a lucky number,
well it is. The sign was known to me when the Goddess

Medusera asked me to give a message to you. The message is that
you wanted to meet the Sixth Goddess, that was Goddess Dawn,
that now you should know of the arrival of the seventh Goddess,
Goddess Hope."

OF FAITH, HOPE AND CHARITY
F.E.T.I. PARK CHAPTER 52

As Molly flew over the world she noted the feeling deep within her
being, several vampires were in the area. She moved closer to what
she thought was a theme park. Ignoring the type of park, she watched
for the vampires. Seeing them she counted that there was fifteen.

Molly thought others like her telling them that she had located the
activity of vampires and that she would need their assistance. Molly's
call for to the other Riders had been heard by the Goddess Medusera.
As the flying unicorns landed, Goddess Medusera appeared.

"You have come here at an opportune time, Goddess" said Molly.
"I heard your call to the others, that's why I came."
"What have you seen, Molly?" asked Diana.
"There's more than a dozen vampires here. I don't know why they
are here but some investigating would not go amiss."

"On my way I saw a town near here, a few of the Myth Investigators
would be helpful," said Saffron.
"What is the name of the town, I'll get a few of the Myth Investigators
to come here."

"I'm pretty sure the place is Toodyay."

A journalist, Mr David Jacobson, from the local newspaper was chatting
to the schools principal, Mrs Guthries and vice principal Sarah Dewson.
"The school is due to hold an open night next week said the principal.
This display in the school's entry is for the open night it is about the
history of schooling through the century in the area," said Mrs Guthries.

"We have got a few photographs, showing the little buildings that were
used throughout the shire, they give a good view of the cramped
conditions and how boys and girls were taught in different conditions,"
said Sarah Dewson, "one of our boys, Graham is especially proud of his
contribution, he had found out about a person that had taught children
how to read, that person wasn't employed as a teacher."

"He was able to help even the children with learning difficulties how to
read and write, so the authorities gave him their encouragement,"
continued Mrs Guthries.
"That was from the year 1930, I believe," said David Jacobson.

"That"˜s right, now Graham had been able to borrow several
photographs from a museum in Perth showing schooling in the town,"
said Sarah Dewson.
"We had a preview evening so the families of the children who created
the display could see their sons or daughters work," said Mrs Guthries

"That's how I first heard about this preview, then I was told
how one of your children, his great grand-mother was said to have
recognised some-one in one of the photographs," said the journalist.

"Yes, she recognised a man as the one that taught her to read in 1931,"
replied Mrs Guthries.
"His mother also said that man had taught her in 1982, and he hadn't
changed, he even appeared not to have aged!.
While they looked at other parts of the display the mother and great
grandmother noticed the play area," said Mrs Guthries.

"A sand pit had been created. One of the people that helped was the
same man, the photograph showed him with same looks, he hadn't aged
at all and the play area was finished twenty months ago," said Sarah.

"I'd have thought that the children here are a bit to old for a sand pit."
"The sand pit is for they young children of parents who come to collect
the school children."
"Many of the older school children are very scared now. None of them
walk anywhere alone. A good explanation of how some-one doesn't age
for seventy six years would be good," mentioned Sarah Dewson.

"I agree, the other question I'd like an answer to, he looked about forty
so now he'd be one hundred and seventeen. Thing is, even if he is alien
or vampire, he helps, I'd like to thank him," added Mrs Guthries.
Over the next few days many enquiries about him were made and it was
realised he stayed with two others and neither of them seemed to
have aged either.

"There is mention of the local character, Moondyne Jack. Some stories
were that he worked at a sheep property called Moondyne, there's also
the story that mentioned strangers were helping him. It was their talk
of the sky at night and their ability to provide the good food for him do
dine on, even if it wasn't spelt dyne," said the journalist.

"We've tried to find out about the strangers, they lived in the general
area, but no-one knows where they came from," said Mrs Guthries.
"I'll put it in the paper, hopefully there will be some more help," said
David Jacobson, "I think I'll use what you said Mrs Guthries as the
headline, "˜ALIEN OR VAMPIRE ? he helps and I'd thank him, that may help
a few people deal with the situation."

Two weeks later at a meeting at the school, one of the towns residents
suggested they try the F.E.T.I. Park. If there was an Alien involvement,
that was a good place to start. Many of the school children's parents
were very concerned, but they all agreed to that. Concern was also
made of a possible demonic involvement, but no-one knew of any one
that could help them.

It was at that point that some of those from the Myth Investigators
who were at the meeting disclosed who they were and said that the
firm would help and that they would go to see the place. The many
contacts that they had would be used, it was also disclosed to the
town meeting that a few of the senior owners of The Myth Investigators
had been granted contact within The Armed Forces of Byzantium.

The next day, several of the Myth Investigators going to F.E.T.I. park.
"What does FETI stand for Mark ?" asked Garet.
"Not to sure. But SETI stands for Search Extra Terrestrial Intelligence,"
said Wesley.

"There has been several films that have mentioned SETI. Now there is
a theme park, so there is a connection there?" asked Chaser.
"That's a good point, also, what-ever the "˜F' stands for you've got a
memory of the place, so it's good advertising," said Mark.
"I'm not sure what it is, but I know my mum wouldn't want me to say
it," said Fred.

"Why not?" asked Mark.
"She told me not to say the F word."
As they drove into the park, several alien figures could be seen in the
undergrowth. A large spaceship was noticed on a ridge. On closer
inspection they saw a plaque that read how that type of craft was seen
over Moscow, Mexico and parts of Britain.

"It says here that this is a copy of a craft that had crashed in Russia,"
noted Fred.
"It's a good copy then, it's made of metal. Don't like saying this, but it's
got that air of authenticity," remarked Wesley.
"There's a crossroads here, to the left is a space-ship, to the right is
another one. Straight ahead there are the main buildings. The sign says
there is a space craft in there," said Garet.

"Try the main building then, we can enjoy ourselves later," said Chaser.
As they walked through the entrance of the main building they saw a
small space ship, said to be used for gathering plant life. A bookshop
was there with many books on the subject along with post cards.

"Has any-one noticed that it's very well illuminated in here?. There isn't
much sunlight in here, but there is a lot of lights," said Wesley.
"Yes, I noticed that, it's almost as if this place is done for the benefit
of the night time dwellers," said Chaser.

"The night time trips might be best then," said Fred.
"Get Pitts and Blue with Faith and Hope to take tonight's trip," said Fred.
"There maybe vampires around here tonight," said Mark.

"Molly said there are several vampires here, so Pitts will go unnoticed
and he can say for sure if they are here," said Garet.
"In that case it'd be a good idea to get Graeves here as well,"
said Fred," what is it Chaser."

"It's all wrong, Molly said of fifteen vampires here, but there was no
mention of people going missing or strange deaths in the local paper."
They decided to leave a request for the night trip. When they got
back in the car.

"I didn't notice that drive way before, there's a sign there, it's THIS.
Any reason why we shouldn't go out that way?" asked Mark.
The second sign, fifty paces further along the track was WAY, so
they went further down the lane. Sally pointed along the track.

"There's the third sign it's TO, and the next signs are SEE A."
As they rounded a corner the next sign was MOTHER OF THE SPACE
SHIP, then a sign with, AS FOUND IN THE MAIN BUILDING.

Soon they saw more signs, THIS, WAY, TO, IT'S, MOTHER-SHIP.
"Keep going, this is good and it's on the way out," said Mark.
As they passed by a group of trees there it was in front of them,
the mother-ship.

"Cripes, now that is big," said Fred.
Then as they rounded the next corner all of it could be seen.
"It's a kilometre wide, it's circular, but it's just there. There's nothing
keeping it above the ground!" exclaimed Wesley.

A van with darkened windows pulled up under in the shade of a tree.
"So what do you think?" said Walter.
"Impressive," said Garet.
"Well, it is our main attraction, but the owners want it back, that's
why we only do guided tours," said Wayne.

"The owners say want it back?" asked Garet.
"At least they said they were it's owners," said Wayne.
"We left a note at the building back there, it's for some friends of ours
to do the night trip," said Fred.

"That's when the guided tour of the space-crafts are," replied Wayne.
"Will you be doing the tour?" asked Garet.
"No, a few are visiting some old friends to-morrow night," said Wayne.

After they had left.
"I wonder, they travel in a van with darkened windows," said Chaser
"It might be just be that they don't like bright sun," said Garet.
"Exactly, there was one of them that didn't even get out the van. I take
it that none of you recognised that Wayne as being the person in the
photographs from the school," said Fred.

They had become like local celebrities because of their helping the
school age children. One of the students from the local agricultural
college did a project about them, and them driving a horse and carriage.
Of them helping the environment. A feature was done about the project
in the newspaper, ention was made of several peoples re-action to them.

When news got round that they hadn't been seen, a group of ten
interested children from the school wanted to find where they lived and
to see how they lived and to take some photographs. Those children
wanted to take part in the field trip. The Myth team would have a few
of their people with them, also from the school were a teacher, the
vice principle there would also be a volunteer fire fighter with them.

A mini-bus was requested for the day. On the day of the field trip the
school children took a camera each, they wore firm footwear the school
provided food and drinks. A hard hat was taken for each of them.

It took an hour and a half to find the entrance to their cave, but the
children weren't bothered as they were looking forward th what they
might find. As it was the cave seemed just to be for the horses and
the wagon. One of the teachers carefully and slowly went into the
cave, the floor was on a gentle slope, the side's were bare. The end of
the cave could be seen, several lights were placed along the walls.

The children from the school were then allowed to wandered around
the cave.
"Mr Mathews, I've just found a set of footprints in the back of the cave.
I've followed them as far as I can but they appear to go into the wall,
one of the boot prints is partly covered up by a rock," said Susan.

She shone her torch light, side to side, the only thing she noticed was
one of her boot laces was in need of a bit loose. So she put her foot on
to the rock and fell forward emitting a surprised scream. Everyone else
rushed to where the sound cae from, but nothing was found.

The other children wandered around trying to find their friend.
"Mr. Mathews!, Help!. There is a torch light on my ankle," said Geoff.
"What's wrong with that, Geoff?" asked Mr Mathews.
He beckoned Faith Fred Garet and Wesley to be with them.

"The light is coming from the cave wall!" exclaimed Geoff.
The other school children rushed back to see what was really
happening, only to see their school friend Geoff, with a torch light
on his ankle.

"Geoff, it's me, Susan!. Can't you see me?".
"Your in the wall!," said Geoff, tears forming in his eyes.
"I'm in some sort of a passageway, hang on I'll show you the way.
Susan stood then reached out for Geoff. All Geoff and everyone else
saw was a hand appearing from a rock," said Susan.

The children's screams got the attention Miss Dewson and Greg, the
driver of the fire truck driver.
"Can you see my hand?," asked Susan.
"We can see your hand, but it's in a rock," replied Fred.

"It isn't a rock, that's how I got in here," cried out Susan.
"Where is she?" said Greg.
"When I saw that my boot lace was loose, I put my foot on the rock
to do it up, and fell into here. Try leaning against the rock and see
what happens."

Fred carefully and slowly put her hand against the rock, it went straight
into the rock!. "Bloody "˜ell!," she exclaimed, as she pulled her hand back.
Faith looked at her, then walked into the rock, she was followed by the
rest of the Myth people. Susan led the way along a passage way and
into another cave, this cave was a lot larger than the first.

"This must have been where the evenings were spent," said Faith.
Around the walls were rows of books, a computer, a television. Cooking
and cleaning areas, all the comforts of home but in a cavern.
By three that afternoon all the data that could be collected was given
to Garet. We may need to come back a few times for the rest of
what's here.

During the evening he sat down and began to sort it out, one section
for the books, another for the computer, then there was the list of
television programs that had been watched. He was interrupted by a
knocking at the door. "Hello Greg, why are you here?," asked Garet.

"I want to know a bit more about those people," said Greg.
"Your in luck, this is the perfect way, I'm just starting to sort out
their stuff. If you help we can sort their stuff, try to understand
them together."

Greg eagerly followed him into the front room, looking around he saw
lots of piles of books and sheets of paper.
"Didn't look like this much before."
"Don't let me stop you enjoying yourself, get stuck in," said Garet.

"Most of what is written in these exercise books are in some strange
language, apart from this bit, it says about Stonehenge, oh, it's got
nearly right!," said Greg.
He began to sort through the different book titles and was putting
them into various categories when he gradually became aware of
a theme.

"These books here, there are fourteen books on the different plants, a
couple of books on how plants work. Eight books are about the
properties of the world," remarked Greg.
"What do you mean, what sort of properties?"

"For instance, there are twenty books on how to get power from the
sun, two books about wind power, water flow and four books on what
affects the various chemicals had on plant life forms and the air" said
Greg, "this book tells about the various types of telescopes and how to
make them. There is a list of web site addresses written and these
were about U.F.O.'s."

It was then that he started trying to remember what he had seen
around the place.
"As we stood outside, in front of the cave, I saw that there wasn't a
power supply for the place."
"Your right, we'll go back tomorrow," said Garet.

During the trip to the cave again.
"I will start looking for a power source," declared Mr Mathews.
"I'll be taking a good look inside the cave," said Greg.
After following wires from the TV and the computer with no success
Greg began to inspect the roof of the cave, trying to find a light.

The search for a power source was becoming a waste of time, no wires
had been found. Mr. Mathews turned as he heard foot-steps behind him.
"Hello Greg, you found anything in there?"
"All the power cables run up to the caves roof, and then to a pipe."

"I thought that they must have taken power from a house near here,
but I can't find any wires," remarked Mr Mathews.
"Why don't we get the kids here again, leave this for them," said Greg.
"The kids would be handy as they will be able to scramble on the hillside
better than us. The other thing is as the power source seems to be up
hill some where their energy levels can be used again," said Mr Mathews.

Later that day Mr. Mathews with Greg, Susan, Geoff and Greg's
daughter Carissa went out to the cave. Greg's daughter, Susan and
Geoff ran up the side of the hill, Greg looked at Mr. Mathews,
"It makes me feel worn out just watching them," said Greg.

When Susan, Carissa and Geoff got to the top, they found that twelve
trees had a piece of tubing between each of them, with an inner tube
to protect the tree, a wire was attached to each, of a series of
paddles with a generator.

"Something is wrong here Faith, there has to be more inside," said Fred.
"Let them do there thing, we'll be back tonight," said Faith.
"If you look and think about it, regardless of which way the wind is
blowing one or more than one line would spin, that being so these wires
could take the electricity to the cave," said Susan.

The three of them moved down the hill.
"Wait up you two, look at these. There's a whole load of solar panels
here," said Carissa.
Susan and Geoff went to look at what she'd found.
"They are placed so that rock outcrop would cover them from the
track," remarked Susan.

"Look at them, they'd get a good benefit from the sun plus they are
at such an angle so that they wouldn't be noticeable from above,"
pointed out Carissa.
"Any luck you lot ?" asked Greg.

"There's some sort of wind turbine at the top of the hill and about
twenty solar panels a bit further down, there's a few thick cables
heading this way," pointed Carissa.
With a fair bit of running around by the youngsters, Mr Mathews began
to take notes of how much power could be made by the wind turbines,
of what amount of power could be generated from the solar panels.

"If there is a collection point somewhere for the power
generated to go into, with a constant amount of power used, in theory
they would never run out of power," said Greg.
"Another thing is, if that was done on a larger scale that place
they go to, the F.E.T.I. Park, it could be done the same way."
"Sounds like a good school project," said Greg.

Later, when it had got dark the Myth team searched the cavern.

Walter, Wynowa and Wynne had gone to a farm known as Ten Tree Hill,
near Dunsborough. Many decades before, they had taught a young girl
there, how to read and write, now she was about to have a birthday.
"How old will Hilda be this year ?" asked Walter.

"Not to sure, we should have come last year," replied Wayne.
"She was eleven when you taught her and it's the year two thousand
and seven," said Wynowa.
"And there lies the problem," said Walter.
"What problem?"

"What year was it when she was eleven?"
"She's done well for herself and her family," declared Wayne.
"Didn't she get the farm handed to her when her parents died?"
asked Wynowa.
"She did, even when everything was against her she kept the farm,
when her husband died he had a farm that no-one knew about, that
was sold and the money set her right," said Wayne.

"What are her kids doing now?" asked Walter
"Her daughter Kerri's birthday is in three days time, Kerri's daughters
Cathy and Chrissie would be in their mid twenties now," said
Wynowa, "her adopted son is a few years older."

Cathy and Chrissie as they were known as, had decided to try and
find some old friends of their Gran's or even the memories of her old
friends, maybe their mum's friend's or relations might be able to help
them. They found some old letters and a very old photo of some friends
of their Gran.

The photograph was in an envelope with a letter that described a cave
on Ten Tree Hill. Strangely enough it was one of the few places that
wouldn't grow any trees. They took the photo and the letter to their
relatives, but none of them knew about the people in the photo.

They went to Ten Tree Hill, but even there they hadn't found any
evidence of a cave. Ultimately they took the photo to their grand
mother, so that she could tell them about the men in the photo and
also to tell them where the cave was.

"I haven't looked at this photo for a long time, I've a vague memory of
those two and the woman. I do remember that they never liked the sun
though, strange people. I used to spend an hour every evening with
them in the cave," said Hilda.

The memories were beginning to return.
"The younger of them was a curious man, but very helpful. He taught
me to read and write, he thought that the cave was an unused
underground burial chamber, a dolmen is what he called it," said Hilda.

"A dolmen? they are a European thing, there isn't any in this
country," said Cathy.
Hilda managed to persuade Cathy and Chrissie to let her go to find the
cave with them. Cathy had to hide her enthusiasm of their gran's idea
as they couldn't find it. As it wasn't to hot the next day, the three of
them went for a ride in one of the old farm vehicles, it had been a long
time since Hilda had been to the cave, as was noticed by Chrissie and
Cathy. After searching for nearly an hour nothing was found.

"If the car's parked near the house gran could get her bearings, come
on, let's go there now," said Cathy.
When they got to the house, Hilda pretended to walk out of it.
"Which direction would you have gone in Gran ?" asked Chrissie.

Hilda pointed them in the correct direction, then Cathy told her to
think like a ten year old. As they walked on Chrissie commented about
them seeming to be going up a small hill.
"That's it!," declared Hilda. "What's it?" asked Chrissie.

"That's how, Wayne told me how to remember where the entrance
was, he had put some rocks in the ground, they were like an arrow,"
said Hilda, "if we stand at the head of the arrow and look back we
should be able to see where the entry to the cave is, it's like in that
old fairy tale, about the old woman who lived in a shoe."

"That is odd, a caves entry, from the top," said Chrissie.
"There is another way that's easier, it'll need some clearing though,"
said Hilda.
As Hilda walked around the hole she slowly got her bearings, and
more memories.

"When I was young I remember walking up to the entry, then turning
around, and climbing on one side of the hole."
On the opposite side from the middle, a short walk from there, was
where the other entry was. So off they went to the other entry, luckily
it was reasonably clear.

"Cathy, it feels like we're being watched," said Chrissie.
"I've got the same feeling," replied Cathy.
"It's been so long since I've been in here, it's a lot smaller than I
remember, oh wait, go to the back then behind the big rock."
Hilda looked but all she could see was mounds of earth.

"Here you are, it's where the entry is, it'll only take you young ones a
short time to dig this lot out," remarked Hilda.
Cathy and Chrissie looked at the pile of rocks, earth and bushes, then
at each other.
"Who's idea was it to come in here?" asked Cathy.
"Who's idea was it to put the spades in the ute?"
Half an hours of digging later, a further passageway could be seen.

"If we go down there a bit then turn left there is another
passage to the main chamber. About the other entry, Wayne told, of
how people would get in or climb out, the fairy tale bit about the old
lady that lived in a shoe," said Hilda.

They walked along the passage way then the roof and the sides grew
further away.
"There was a big stone in the centre, Walter used to pick me up and
let me lie on it then Wayne would come in with some books and teach
me how to read and write," said Hilda.

"You got taught to read and write by strangers, That's good, they
must have been nice people," said Chris.
"The things he told me, one of the tales was a dance with one of the
undead, it was something to do with the circle of stones, their friend
that they used to visit in those rocks," said Hilda.

"That sounds like an old wives tale," said Cathy.
"I always thought that, and I suppose it is, I'm an old wife. Thing is
then one day when Walter wasn't here Wayne let me see their friend,
Darlina, Darlinga, I can't remember her name, mmm, the good old
days," said Hilda.

"Come on gran, lets get you back before we're missed," said Chrissie.
That evening Cathy and Chrissie returned to the cave with their
brother Peter. They didn't mention about their feelings in there, only
that it felt like home, they all took big torches with them, when inside
the chamber Cathy and Chrissie we're excited, telling Peter that it was
said to be an unused burial chamber.

"What about that rock? where does that passage lead to?" asked Peter.
Peter took them to the rock, then showed them the passageway.
"How did you know that the passage was there?, isn't this the first
time you've been here is it?" asked Cathy.
"Yeah."

As they were about to move on, they all noticed a trees roots growing
through the passage. They looked at each other.
"One of us had better go for an axe to cut these, wow!"
Peter slowly moved his hand through the roots, he looked to Cathy.

Shrugging his shoulders he slowly moved along the tunnel, Peter shone
the torchlight on the walls of the passage, further they went, then
he stopped. "What's wrong now, you've stopped again," said Cathy.

"The side has stopped here," stated Peter. The three of them took
the few steps into the small chamber.
"How long have those books been there?" asked Cathy, to no-one special.

They all put their torches down so that the books were
illuminated, Cathy and Chrissie started looking at the books, Peter saw
what appeared to be a mark on the wall, after a bit of wiping the earth
away, he found about what appeared to be a button.

They went out of the room, the passageway seemed to be on a bit
of a decline, as they got closer to what they thought was the end they
noticed that the bit in front of them was only some rocks piled up. Peter
took one more step then all around the main chamber lights began to
work, the light behind them slowly grew in intensity.

They were amazed, they gazed in awe at what lay before them. It was
a beautiful stone circle, Cathy had taken two steps forward when
Peter and Chrissie held her.
"Look!, in the circle, there is a woman !" said her sister.

The three of them carefully made their way into the stone circle.
"Who are you? is the one they taught to read and write here?".
"You mean our grandmother?" asked Cathy.
"Three friends of mine are already here and they want to meet you.
They are behind you."

They all turned around promptly.
"You three!, you are the ones in the photograph, but that picture was
taken over seventy years ago, you were old then," said Peter.
"He still is old," said Wayne.

"At least I'm not too old." Walter looked at Peter and smiled.
"Now let me think about this, my gran will be eighty six soon and she
met you when she was only Eleven, judging by those photos you were
about thirty five then so that means you are now around one hundred
and ten years old!," said Peter.

"I knew if we waited long enough some-one would say how old
she is," said Wayne. "Say that again?" asked Walter.
"We now know how old she'll be on her birthday," said Wayne.

"Why don't you even look old?" asked Cathy.
"It's a known fact that too much sun will cause the skin to dry and
wrinkle, we keep out of the sun," said Walter.
"Is there any reason why you can't accept we are here, without us
having to have a reason?" asked Wayne.

"Why are you here?" asked Peter.
"It's some-one's birthday," said Wayne.
"How about telling them the other reason," said Darla.
"And steal your thunder, nah, we're nice people," said Walter.

"What is the other reason?" asked Peter.
"It is to check up on the circle and test it. As your gran may have
told you, we used to live here, so now we live in here again, at least
until we have been to her birthday party, we have checked up on the
other circles we left, the one in Toodyay is to busy right now, we
wanted Darla to be here to meet you," said Walter.

"Toodyay?. What connects you with Toodyay?" asked Darla
"There are several of us there, they are all ones that you have
helped," said Walter.
"Why are they there?" asked Darla.
"We got together and started a theme park, that allows us to "˜live'."

"You don't mean the F.E.T.I. park do you?"
"Yes," said Wayne.
"The demon hunters are preparing to attack the vampires there. I will
send a message to Medusera, for the attack to be stopped," said Darla.
"You expect us to believe that!, why?".

"Because I know they are saying part of the truth, don't ask me how
I know that, just that I do," said Peter.
"Have you girls ever wondered about Peter? ever tried to explain why
he is different from you?" asked Darla.

"We did explain it, he is adopted," said Chris.
"Or they were." (Said Peter grinning).
"I've got the feeling your about to tell us another reason though,"
said Cathy.

"Peter was adopted, he is from a long line of see-ers," said Darla, "it
may have been because of him that your Gran was accepted by Walter."
"I don't know if it's because of the stone circle or if it's because of
these people. I use the term people very loosely when describing them.

Five more people appeared in the stone circle.
"Crap! More importantly, who are they?" asked Chrissie.
"Maybe I should introduce you to them," said Darla.
"Them, who are they?" asked Cathy, who had only just seen them.

"They are Hope, Charity and oh, sorry. This is a General of Byzantium
they will see Wayne and Walter as friends which is much harder to
accept when you realise that those two are vampires like the other
two that just came here. And when you think that your brain has
survived the onslaught of weird info, I am the Goddess Darla!".

"Cathy, should I have put salt our coffee last night?" asked Chrissie.
"They are our friends, all of them," said Peter.
"What you just told us was the truth wasn't it?" asked Cathy.
"Aren't you even a little bit surprised?" asked Hope.

"Oh yes, but the thing is, of the people we know, Peter is the most
trustworthy, he doesn't tell lies. He may refuse to answer, but he won't
tell a lie," said Cathy.
"I guess it's something that we'll have to accept, how long does it take
to travel by the stone circle?" asked Chrissie.

"If I was to go to our home in Britain, look at the countryside for
twenty seconds and then come back I could be back here in one
minute," said Andrea.
"We need to look for the stone circle near Perth," said Goddess Darla.

"If you want to take us with you, Cathy and I could help," said Chrissie.
"Another set of eyes wouldn't hurt, it may help them to see," said Pitts.
"Is there any reason why we haven't gone yet?" asked Cathy.

"There is still sunlight there, that is a problem to some folk here."
"Oh, vampires don't like sunlight, I didn't think of that," replied Cathy.

"Darla? can you and Graeves make a stone circle at FETI park? We
could show the vampires there what has happened, easier than telling
them," suggested Pitts. "Yes, it would be better that way."

The Goddess Darla had put signs at the entrance saying that all tours
had been cancelled that night, so that they would be undisturbed.
After the sun had gone down, the Goddess appeared in all her glory.
A couple of others could be seen seemingly wandering about

It wasn't long before the people that ran the theme park had gathered
and were watching what was happening. It was only when one of
those people, the vampires turned to go inside that he saw the Elite
stood there. One of them was chosen to go towards what now looked

like a stone circle. As he moved closer one of the figures in the circle
moved towards him, then he recognised him as Wayne. He was about
to talk to Wayne when he saw another appear next to Wayne.
"Careful, that is one of the Elite!" he called.

"Your wrong, this is Buffy, she is the General of the Elite. Can you ask
the Goddess to be here?" asked Pitts.
In the town of Toodyay a person who was obviously worse for having
six shots of Tequila to many had just dropped his house keys in the

garden, and he was having trouble feeling them when the night sky lit
up. Thinking it was some-one behind him with a torch he picked up the
keys and......looking to the south west the colour of the sky became
yellow. He was sober.

"Wayne who is she?"
"She is Goddess Dawn, the lady that is glowing white is Goddess Darla."
"Not the same?"

"Yes," interrupted Wayne, "the same. She isn't a vampire now, she is
a Goddess, This is my friend Graeves, he is like a vampire but he has
many things to show you."
"As Wayne told you I am a vampire," be a vampire,
"now watch this."

He put his hands in the soil, then washed the soil of with water.
"So, what so special about that?"
"The water is holy water," said Graeves, "all will be shown to you
tomorrow after the sun comes up. For now, just watch this."
He turned to face Buffy, "ask them to come please."

From the circle came the two Generals of the Armed Forces of
Byzantium. They smiled to Graeves, then held out their arms as if to
introduce the demon hunters, the vampire slayers, the Riders, The We.
"What is happening?"

Through the early hours of the morning the soldiers then the infantry of
the armed forces of Byzantium continually appeared. As the light began
to appear in the sky Wayne looked to his friend.
"The sun rises soon, we need to go," said Wayne.

"No you don't," said Graeves, "but who would you believe, for you to
stay in the sunlight?"
"There is said that a seventh will appear when all evil has gone, her I'd
believe," said Wayne.

Graeves faced Goddess Dawn, "now would be best."
Once again the sky became white as the Goddess Curremy arrived.
The others that ran FETI park drew closer as Goddess Medusera, then
the Goddesses Turee and T'ara appeared.

"That is six Goddesses, right? now see this."
Slowly rising from the ground rose a coloured dome of red, walking from
the dome of red light was Hope.
"There is always hope," she said.
Walking back to her dome, she faced those of the armed forces.

"Until we are called you may all get some rest."
Pitts was aware that all the domes of the Goddesses were growing
bigger than he had seen before.

Astronaughts in the space station reported seeing a mass of lights of
several colours covering the earth, then the colours vanished.
Graeves stood, not understanding what had happened. It was only
when Wayne declared that he was standing in the sunlight that he
realised that the parting gesture, was that everywhere was demon free.
