The O.C. Season 4

Well back in the first series, which is amazing TV, something like 10 million viewers.
Yes, and so impressed are they by the weekly trials and tribulations of these teens that it's still reaching Ten Million people and still being mad....oh wait.

FINALLY Someone agrees with me!
Finally?!?!
I've always believed that. Never liked the show, but don't try and say I like One Tree Hill either.
Pretentious teens living off mommy and daddies buck is hardly what I want to see, especially since I live in the world where most people live and see that hardly happening.
The OC might be entertaining for people who live there, but for the rest of the sane world should they should have left this alone years ago.
You want true to life people living in a community while still being entertaining enough that you don't entirely feel out of place?
Go outside and talk to your neighbours...or at the very least, watch Shameless🙂

Pretty much what I think too, although I can't stand Shameless either. Shows about normal life bore me senseless, whether that be the richer or poorer end of the scale. Anything like The OC, One Tree Hill, Shameless, Coronation Street (in fact ESPECIALLY the dire Coronation Street) just send me to sleep.

I need fantasy in my television or it's just not worth it. In fact the closest I come to watching a "normal" television show is 24, and even that does fantastical things with time and bladders. 🙂

Absopositively....I just used Shameless as an example of the exact opposite that at the very least had humour and some(SOME) real life issues.

I absolutely agree, however IF I am to watch a show, i'd rather watch something like Shameless that at the very least has a gritty realism then watch the teens in a rich American Community deal with issues that frankly 95% of them will never experience.

I too prefer the more 'fantasy' led shows. Way I see it, I live in reality, why would I want to watch it?

My view exactly. I'm stuck in reality all day. Don't need to see it on television too. :)
I love fantasy/sci-fi/horror shows more than any other kind, but not all shows about "real" life are bad. The O.C. season one was actually pretty intelligent and funny. Veronica Mars? One of the best shows on television. The Office? Best comedy on TV. Desperate Housewives? Great. Brothers & Sisters? Really good.

There used to be a time, though, when I didn't watch ANYTHING that was based in reality.

I can't take a conventional soap of any kind really. But if soapish elements are contained within another genre, that's cool then.

And I appreciate fantasy shows that attempt "realism" of a sort. Medium, BSG - just in terms of the acting styles, dialogue...but they're nothing I get seriously hooked on.

Well Desperate Housewives is a comedy, drama, satire, mystery, thriller soap opera. 😉

What shows do you watch regularly at the moment?

The O.C. season one was actually pretty intelligent and funny.

See, I was actually dating a girl who was a fan of the show during season one so I have seen those episodes and I can officially say that I found them neither intelligent nor funny. Cringe worthy and annoying, maybe!

Desperate Housewives? Great.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Wash your mouth out!

When it comes to sitcoms I'm a little more willing to come back down to earth if I think they are worth watching. The US version of The Office however is nothing compared to the original UK version. It lacks... Ricky! 😀

Now, Scrubs? That is funny!

Why is the rest of the world sane? I went to a school where EVERYONE wathced The O.C., and it was a school that had pupils that led O.Cesque lives, with the cars and money. Like the school was rediculus with the most uneeded stuff, like if you where to get a lunch from the school, you would go into the lunch room and scan your hand, and then your parents would be charged for the lunch!

But I mena literly the entire school of over 1000 pupils all watched and related to the characters, The scandels (Some actually better then the shows!) and the lifestyle. So I've actually never seen the O.C. as really really far fetched!

The first season was awesome....

You've obviously never seen Desperate Housewives because the people definitely aren't boring and they don't do boring things, either. Well, except for occasion in season two. But season one is awesome.

How wrong you are.
Season 1, I actually liked. It was quite interesting.
Season 2 sucked harder than a prostitute on overdrive and what i've seen of season 3, well that Prostitute would need both mother and sister working as hard and still not suck as much.

I only continue to watch because there really is nothing else on. When Stargate comes back on, it's on at the same time so I can watch that🙂

Season Three is just as good as season one...I do agree to a certain extent about season two, although I didn't hate it or anything, but this season has been quite good, I've really enjoyed it. Especially "Bang" and episodes immediately before and after.

Shame on you, shame on you. Well, your loss. :)
Well, I'm on episode 11 or so. At first I thought the mystery was gonna suck but *I* think (and most of the critics, too, all of whom hated season 2) that it's developed rather nicely. Marcia Cross is always hiding behind things now since she's pregnant, which is sort of annoying, but Susan has become less stupid and the show's a lot more funny now...it's back to the point where I actually look forward to the next new episode, which is more than I can say for last year.

For me, by the time episode 11 comes around, I won't be able to watch...Thank You Stargate and Lost:)

And again, how wrong you are.

I've not had to suffer every episode of this show thanks to my current on again/off again girlfriend (who is a big fan) living a hundred or so miles away from me at the moment but I dare say that I've seen more than half of the episodes from the first two seasons and I suffered the first two of season three only last week.

I'm not sure which storyline bored me the most, The "my guy is in a coma but I'm falling for this other guy whose wife is also comatose" story, the "I'm marrying a guy who may or may not have killed his last wife and I have crap taste in bridesmaid dresses" story or the "I still love my husband but we are getting divorced as I slept with the help" story. All were equally able to send me to sleep. I'd have more fun and excitement listening to my own mother talking to her friends on the phone.

Believe me, I do have some experience with these series and I am giving my honest opinion when I say that I think they suck beyond belief.

But not as bad as Coronation Street! 😉
