The omitted dialogues: What conversations did you really want to hear?

We were only privy to forty minutes a week of these character’s lives. There was a lot that we didn’t see since it was a fictional series with actors and a budget and wasn’t The Truman Show. However, every one of us likes to imagine that the Buffyverse is real somewhere and that for every episode and issue we received there were a hundreds of things that happened that we don’t know anything about or at least don’t know the specifics.

What moments did you regret not getting to be witness to?

Examples:

The infamous Buffy/Angel reunion when Angel sees Buffy for the first time post-resurrection

Buffy V Dracula
Tara & Willow telling Joyce that they are in a lesbian relationship.

Post-Who Are You/Pre-Dirty Girls
Spike bringing up the cocktease and Buffy telling him that someone switched bodies with her.

Post-The Gift/Pre-Bargaining
The Scooby Gang burying Buffy. Their eulogies.

Post-Something Blue
Buffy learning how to drive. Possibly taught by Riley? (she was driving her mother to and from the hospital in S5)

IWMTLY/Intervention
Spike telling Warren to build him a robotic sex-mate in Buffy’s likeness

In Selfless Willow corrects Buffy on Xander's message back in Becoming. This is never mentioned again but you have to figure Buffy and Xander would have a little "chat" about it.

Can't really think of any others but I'll keep an eye out as I'm rewatching.

This is one I always wished we'd gotten to see/hear. But at the same time, I was crying enough at the end of "The Gift" that I would have been a complete basket case if this had actually happened. LOL


I always wanted to see a an appology conversation between Giles and Buffy after he and Robin set Spike up. We never got to see them reconcile, and I wish we would have.
 
I don't think that Giles ever did apologize for believing a vengeance-seeking Wood over his pseudo-daughter. It is one of the reasons she doesn't fully trust him in Dirty Girls/Empty Places. I felt that their reconciliation in time for the season finale rang false. (WARNING, Spoilers ahead for Season 8!)
I really hated the hug in Retreat for the same reason. Giles was distant from Buffy, keeping crucial information (that there was a psychotic Slayer *Gigi* with magickal allies plotting to assasinate her!) from her, etc, but that is all swept under the rug. I still can't believe he has been spending the entire year or maybe several years searching for a weapon to kill Buffy in case she became the one in the prophecy that he never warned her about.

I hate when people say that Buffy lashes out when she is in a verbal fight or feels wounded. I don't think so at all! Can you imagine keeping the fact that you realized your friends did NOT tell you they were going to restore Angel's soul and that is the reason you had to send him to Hell to youself? Buffy has so much dirt on her friends that she never uses during any of their fights or when they gang up on her as a group.

I wonder if Angel visited Buffy's grave. Or Wesley and Cordelia.

Buffy's funeral...I would like to see it. Angel coming too.

Willow telling Angel everything about Buffy's sacrifice in the Gift.

Buffy and Angel's reunion in s6...we certainly deserved to watch this at least.
 
I was REALLY upset that I didn't get to see Willow telling Angel what happened. He walks in, sees Willow, his face falls, and he says "Buffy". And the next episode picks up five months later after the shock is gone and he has survived the hardest part of the grieving process. Did he cry? Did she tell him *exactly* how Buffy died? (mystickal energy frying her internal organs) How did he spend that first day that he knew?

yeah! I wanted to see that! the word "buffy" always brings me to tears cause Will is devastated and Angel understands immediately what happened. I wonder if they told him about Dawn's true nature
I would've liked to hear Willow and Xander 'end' their affair. Well, we all saw it end, but I'm sure they had a conversation about it, about how to go on after it.

I'm not sure if this counts, but a definite nice one would've been the last night between Buffy and Spike (in Chosen). Not entirely sure, cos I'm not convinced they talked at all, but it would've been great to see Spuffy without any hate in it for once.
 
Post "Chosen:

" Buffy pointing out to Giles and Wood that, if their little conspiracy had succeeded, not only would they and all of the Potentials/ new Slayers be dead, but the ENTIRE WORLD would be at best only a few days away from destruction by the First Evil and its minions.


The memorial service (and we all know that there HAD to have been one, with all of the survivors saying "thanks and goodbye" to their fallen comrades.

The "where do we go from here" meeting that ultimately wound up with Buffy in a Scottish castle with a small army of new Slayers.

Yes, this is one I always wanted to see, too... I wanted to see one last sweet, tender kiss between them before they broke up.
 
I was going to put the Spuffy scene from Chosen on the OP but decided that that I prefer not knowing the specifics. Just having her come down the stairs and that look they give each other knowing it might be the last time they see each other pre-battle. So powerful. Who am I kidding? I still want to watch every second of it. I could imagine an entire conversation and they definitely made love (it would be their first time "making love" instead of "having sex") and then fell asleep in each others arms.

I wanted to see the first conversation between Xander and his family post-Hells Bells.
 
I want to see Buffy and Angels renuion after she comes back from Heaven. That soooo bugs me. And it's a good idea about Buffy's funeral. I would also like to see Xander and Buffy's talk in Selfless about things that happened in Becoming, and Angel telling Buffy about what happened in IWRY 😉

I so want to read/see the cocktease moment. Actually, I want to see. Spike's face would be priceless.

And the Buffy/Spike blackout scene in Chosen. What the frak happened?

And I wonder if the Scoobies ever talked about the throwing-Buffy-out deal. I would want to read that. Other than the piece I wrote.
 
At this point, the only reason I could see Angel telling Buffy about IWRY is if he was trying to persuade her or something...
 
All of your examples are great, crazysoulless. Personally, I would like liked to see:

* The dialogue when Buffy tells Dawn her mother is dead. We see Dawn break down, but we can't hear what she is saying.

* Spike and Dawn's reconciliation after the AR

* In agreement with Sky: Buffy and Spike's last night in 'Chosen' - what was said? What was done?

* Buffy's funeral, for sure. I'm sure there's many fics for this one (anyone know of any, send them my way).

* A flashback for that "one time" time that Angel and Spike were "intimate"

* Giles and Joyce doing it on the hood of his car (hehe)

* Jenny's funeral

Buffy telling Joyce that Ted was a robot. I always find it strange that Joyce knows this in one S4 or 5 ep, dunno which one it was exactly. When, how, and why did Buffy bring this up in a dialogue with her?

It was S4's Fear Itself that she said "It doesn't help that my last boyfriend was a homicidal robot". Hmm, I wonder now too when Buffy sat her down to tell her. At the earliest, it was in S3 since Joyce refused to believe in things like that until then.

I HATED Giles having sex with Buffy's mom! I think its because I UC ship Giles/Buffy. And despite the fact that Mrs. Summers is very pretty she has this mom quality to her. While Giles on the other hand I find very attractive!

Spangel love!!! I bet Buffy wouldn't mind seeing that as long as she knew both men still wanted to "be intimate" with her. hehe

I don't think that Spike and Dawn ever became friends after he tried to rape Buffy.

Agreed on the Giles hotness, definitely the only guy out of the cast I'd think twice about kicking out of bed. (sw)

But Biles shipping? really? You're the first one I hear admitting to that... unusual... shipping. It's almost as bad as Bangel IMO. Almost. 😀

I don't find Giles very attractive...not my type. But I can see why people would.
When Xander suggests that if Buffy dies he will simply bring her back to life i would have liked to have seen a reaction from Buffy yet she walks out of shot.

Also i was a bit disappointed when Buffy didn't react to Willow revealing that she didn't say "kick his ass" in relation to Angel.
