The Potential of Welor Clemens

woo hoo! an update! i'm really liking this, Jesse. Welor is such an interesting character, and you've really made her into that 3d character Al was talking about.
i loved that last little chapter, and i can't wait to see what happens, and if Welor's dream comes true.

Thanks Aly. It means a lot that you like it.
Well I FINALLY got around to reading the next chapter of your fic (sorry it took so long!), gotta say I really liked the update! It gave us a good sense of Welor's fighting skills and such, and I really do like the part with Xavier coming to the rescue! Of all the characters to do so, I think you made the right choice! Great work!

No problem, I'll wait *sits by computer with smile, twiddling thumbs until Welor is back* =)
Dude, VG, I just got around to reading this - well, parts of it anyway - and I LOVE YOUR CHARACTERS. "Don't worry. I'll help you pick out something that won't provoke any unwanted humping." BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Each character has a definitive voice and look, which is something a lot of fanfics lack nowadays [and doesn't that make me sound old?]. This, my friend, is a work of art. Please, continue. DO IT. I own you, and I say continue.

LOL Thanks a lot Mesektet. I'll put up more soon :D
Here's the next installment. I know it took an eternity but it's finally here. Forgive me if I'm a little rusty. I hope you guys like.

Welor walked down the hall of the school. She was still thinking about what had happened the night before. She couldn't believe that she saw a real live vampire. She still felt a little shaken over the experience.
"Welor!" Veronica called out as she caught up to her best friend. "I'm sorry about what happened yesterday. I didn't mean to make a whole big mess of an already messy situation."
Welor smiled. She hadn't told Veronica about what happened the night before. The less people who knew, the better. "It's allright Veronica. It's not your fault. You were right, I should never have agreed to go to Chrome yesterday."
Veronica sneered, " I told you, but do you ever listen to me? No! Xavier is no good. You should know that by now."
"Look, he's not that bad allright!" Welor snapped.
Veronica's eyes widened, "Damn girl. You don't have to bite my head off."
Welor looked at Veronica and saw that her words hit her hard. Even though Veronica didn't show when her feelings got hurt, Welor could always tell. "I'm sorry Veronica. I didnt mean to snap at you like that. I just have a lot on my mind right now."
Veronica put her hand on Welor's shoulder, "Yeah, I can tell. Welor, you haven't been yourself for a couple weeks now. You're usually more, how do I say it? Lively and bitchy. I mean you didn't even make fun of Becky yesterday when she wore the lime green overalls. What's going on with you?"
More than anything, Welor wanted to tell Veronica about what happened, but she couldn't. If Veronica were to find out that vampires are real, she would advertise it to the entire school. "It's just been a rough couple of weeks. I haven't gotten much sleep lately."
"Well do you want to go to the spa after school?" Veronica asked, "It will definitely help you relax."
"I can't, I'm sorry. I already have plans," Welor replied. "I'll call you later."
Veronica looked on as Welor walked away from her, "Okay then. Bye."

Xavier walked into the empty occult book store. He looked around and saw all kinds of weird things on the shelves and tables. He went up to a table with a skull on it and picked it up. "Damn, I wonder who this used to belong to?"
A sales woman walked up to him, "Can I help you find anything?"
"Oh, just because I pick the skull up, you think I'm gonna steal it don't you?" Xavier asked.
"No, I just...I," the woman stuttered.
Xavier busted out laughing, "I'm just messin with you." He put the skull back on the table. "Gimme all the books you have on vampires."
The woman blinked, "We have 75 different books about vampires."
"Oh damn!" Xavier exclaimed, "Then just give the one with the basics."
"I have just what you need." the woman walked to a bookshelf and pulled out a huge book with the word Vampyr written on the cover. "This will give you all the information you need about vampires. It's in the best seller list."
Xavier's eyes widened, "Um, do you have the pocket size version of this book?"
The sales woman smiled, "No, but we do have it on tape."
Xavier took out his wallet. "Forget it. I'll just take this one." He gave the sales woman the money for the book.. "Now, I better go back to school. I'm supposed to be in Chemistry right now." He took the book and walked out the door.
"So you broke the rules, didn't you?" the sales woman turned around to see a vampire standing right behind her. "You know what Zack said. There's a potential slayer in this city and he forbade you from selling any books about vampires."
The sales woman started shaking, "I'm sorry. I was just beiice. Besides aren't potentials always girls? There's no way that kid can use that information against you." She saw that the vampire still looked displeased. "It will not happen again."
The vamp smiled, "I know." He then grabbed her neck and snapped it with one swift movement. "You're fired."

you made me laugh...green overalls and vampr on tape. glad to see you writing again.
I'm late to the party here. How did I miss this? I read the whole thing so it must be good. I get impatient easy.

You have a good ear for voice, and an eye for detail. I like the humour touches too. It's rare you see them done well, yet you've got the gift. They say the more you write, the better you get, so you should write a lot. I think it would be a worthy investment.

Thanks. I feel that the last chapter I wrote was a little shaky but I'm very glad you like it. I'll get around to writing more soon.
A shame you never finished this tale. It was going quite well. (says the Mod who never finishes his stories). 😛

Hopefully one day you'll have the time. I'd like to see how this whole thing turns out.

Here's the next installment. I wrote it today. I hope you guys like it. Let me know what you think of it please.

"I'm coming " Welor yelled out as she ran to open her front door. She opened it and standing right there was Xavier. "Xavier, what are you doing here?"
"I'm here to pick you up for our date. Don't tell me you forgot already?" he responded.
Welor gave him a blank stare, "Okay, what are you doing here?"
Xavier rolled his eyes, "It was worth a shot. I need to talk to you. You wanna take a ride?"
Welor was a little worried being alone with Xavier. He was the guy that lead her to her dream death numerous times. But he was also the guy who saved her life. She smiled at him, "Sure, let me get my jacket."

"So what do you need to talk to me about?" Welor asked after a long awkward silence.
Xavier reached into his back seat, pulled out a book, and put it on Welor's lap.
"What is this?" she asked.
"It's a big book with the word vampire on the cover dummy." He responded.
Welor glared at him, "I know that But why do you have it?"
"Well, after what happened last night, I wanted to know more about those things that attacked us," Xavier then leaned over and opened his glove compartment to reveal a wooden stake and a cross. "So I picked up a few things."
"I told you to leave this alone " Welor yelled. "If you go around playing vampire hunter, you're gonna get yourself killed "
Xavier didn't take his eyes of the road as he talked to Welor. "So suddenly the Homecoming queen gives a damn wether some no good gangster lives or dies?"
Welor touched his hand and Xavier turned to look at her. "I don't think you're a no good gangster. I think you're the sweetest and bravest guy I know. You saved my life Xavier. I'll never forget that." She smiled at him and he smiled back. Suddenly she thought, "Mija, what are you doing? This is Xavier you're talking to The guy who yanked off Veronica's ponytail in ninth grade and told everyone he got it from a horse. You can't be interested in him" Welor quickly let go of his hand and changed the subject, "So what are you planning on doing with this information anyway?"
Xavier pulled over and turned to Welor. "What do you think? I'm gonna kill all them mofos."
Welor couldn't believe what she was hearing."What?"
Xavier leaned over to his backseat and took out some papers. "Well after I went shopping today, I did a little research. I wanted to know if there were any vampire attacks before."
Welor looked at the sheets of paper. They were newspaper articles that were printed from a computer, "And what did you find out?"
"I found out that a lot of people started dying from some severe neck sucking a little over a year ago," Xavier responded. "Before that, nada."
Welor took a sheet from Xavier and looked at the picture. It was Serena, a girl that went to Sacramento High with them. She laid on the ground dead with a big bite mark on her neck.. "I can't believe they put this picture in the newspaper. That poor girl. To think of all those times I was mean to her."
Xavier took the sheet from Welor, "It's alright. There's no way you could have known."
"Is that supposed to make me feel better?" Welor asked.
"Look I know you feel bad," Xavier responded, "but we have to concentrate on what's important. There have been more and more killings every week. I have a feeling that these vampires are planning something big. We just have to find out what it is."
"How are we supposed to do that?" Welor asked.

Welor walked down the dark alley. She thought Xavier's idea was crazy and that there was no way it could work. Still, she had to do whatever it took to stop the vampires from killing anyone else. Somehow, she knew she was connected to whatever was happening. The dreams she was having weren't meaningless. But if that was the case, she also couldn't let her guard down with Xavier. "Vampires, where are you?" she whispered to herself. "This is ridiculous," she thought. "I'm just going to go back and tell Xavier that his master plan isn't working."
"Are you lost baby girl?" a voice said from behind her.
She turned around to see a figure hidden in the shadows. "Who's there?"
The person stepped out of the shadows only to reveal his demonic facade.
Welor gasped as she recognized the vampire, "You're the same one who attacked me at Chrome."
The vampire smiled, "Well, well, well. I didn't expect to run into you again. You sure have a knack for getting yourself into trouble. Why are you always alone anyway? Got no friends?"
Welor smiled, Actually, I do." She whipped out her cell phone and pressed it against her ear. "Now!"
At the end of the alley two headlights flashed on. Suddenly a car came speeding toward Welor and the vampire.
Welor jumped out of the way.
The vampire's eyes widened as the car slammed into him and sent him flying against the other end of the alley.
The car stopped and Xavier let himself out. "Wow, I guess vampires really can fly. Who knew?"
Welor smiled at him and put hand on his shoulder. "Thanks friend."
Xavier turned to Welor, "And you are the best bait ever. You should think of doing that professionally."
They both walked over to the unconscious vampire and Xavier knelt down before it, "Welor, you better have that cross and stake handy. We're gonna take our new friend for a little trip."

ok well apparently i've been out of the loop too vg sorry lol seeing as i barely read the first chapter when u started this... Really lovin the story cant wait for more 😀

Here's an update after over a year. It might not be as good as the other chapters since it's been so long. But I hope you enjoy.

The vampire opened his eyes to find himself tied to a beam in somebody's garage. He looked up to see Welor and Xavier standing over him. Welor was holding a cross and Xavier was holding a stake.
"Wow, it's about time you woke up," Xavier leaned in toward the vamp. "For somebody who is undead, you sure take some long ass naps."
Welor rolled her eyes, "Can you stop being so damn cocky and start whatever we're gonna do already?"
The vampire laughed, "You two are in way over your heads. As soon as my crew finds out I've been taken, they'll be looking for the both of you."
"That's possible," Xavier picked up the big vampire book, "But it says here that a vampire can't come into somebody's home uninvited. So I think we'll be fine."
The vampire growled, "You gotta leave the house sometime."
Xavier put the book down, stepped closer to the vampire, and pointed the stake at his chest, "I want to know what you and your kind are doing here."
The vampired laughed again, "Do you really think you're scaring me kid? I have nothing to fear."
"What the hell are you talking about?" Welor snapped.
The vampire gave them a sinister smile, "We are building an army. Rumor has it the slayer is dead. With her out of commision, there will be nobody that can stop us. Not that she'd ever come to Sacramento anyway."
Xavier gave the vampire a confused look, "What the hell is a slayer?"
"Into each generation a Slayer is born, one girl in all the world, a Chosen One, one born with the strength and skill to hunt the vampires... I'm sure you've heard it all before. Considering there's a slayer candidate right here in Sacramento." The vampire tried to loosen himself from the ropes. "Can I at least get a chair please? This floor is very uncomfortable."
Xavier laughed, "No you're not getting a chair homes. This ain't no Holiday Inn."
Welor stepped up to the vampire, "What do you mean slayer candidate?"
The vampire looked at Welor, "There's a girl in town who could become slayer in the event of the current one dying. She hasn't been activated yet. We're gonna make sure it stays that way. You wouldn't happen to know who this potential is would you?"
Welor crossed her arms, "Of course not. I don't even know what a potential is." She remembered the dreams she's been having about vampires. "There's no way it can be me," she thought to herself.
"So who are you working for? There must be somebody leading this army," Xavier pressed the stake against the vamp's chest.
The vampire glared at him, "It's funny how you're trying so hard to help when pretty soon you'll be on our side."
Xavier backed away, "I'll never be one of you."
Welor immediately remembered the dream she's been having about Xavier being a vampire.
"In a few days, you'll be seeing things in a whole new perspective," the vampire gave him a cocky smile, "You'll be sucking the life out of your girlfriend here. And there is nothing you can do to stop it from happening." The vampire started laughing.
"SHUT UP!" filled with rage Xavier pierced the vampire's chest with the wooden stake. The vampire disintegrated into dust.
Welor walked over to Xavier and put her hand on his shoulder, "Wow, did you see him turn to dust?"
Xavier still looking at the pile of ashes responded, "Yes, I saw it." He then turned to Welor. "I'm not gonna become one of them. I would never do anything to hurt you."
Welor gave him a hug, "I know pa. I know."
