I'm a big fan of the franchise, I wanna see if there are any fans of the franchise in this boards to discuss with, the IMDB Saw forums is filled with trolls.

I. Love. SAW. 😀

Seriously. I will be sad the day it ends, lol.

Everytime I watch the next installment, as soon as I leave the theatre, I'm saying "So when's the next one out?!" 😛

but its not 100% confirmed that Saw VII would be the last, if it does well in the box office, they'd release VIII & IX & hopefully it would go 'till XXX lol.

I love the saw movies and have them all. I love the endings and the music when everything starts coming together. I look forward to these movies every year. I am not sure if this is the last one but i hope that
The doctor from the first one comes back to tie it all up because he is the one person who I always think what happened to him?

I still love the scene in saw 2
when we find out Amanda is on it and she closes the door it is not creepy it is just a shock mixed with wanting to know more at that moment.

the twists at the end of each movie are one of the best things in the franchise.
& the actor who plays Dr. Gordon is confirmed to reprise his role in Saw VII. if you see the package Jill is carrying in Saw VI very closely, you can read "........ Gordon", though her hands cover the first name, I'm 90% sure its for him.

what's confirmed about Saw VII:
-Jill & Hoffman would battle for Jigsaw's legacy
-it has 11 traps, the most in any movie in the franchise
-it has the most returning characters in the franchise
-Dr. Gordon would come back

I think Saw VII is going to be EPIC
who do you prefer? Jill or Hoffman?
I think both showed us that they butch their traps & don't follow on John's belief system.

I Love the Saw movies! Im a big horror buff and theses are some of the best to come out in a long time. I do hope all lose ends will be tied up in this one though and Im super excited to see it in 3D!

I had seen that on a website but did not know if it was true so did not want to say anything. I am super excited now that it has been official! I though the envelope was to him my mom watches them to she is a fan of horror movies and such and thought the same thing.
I am excited I would pay to see this in 3D even though i am not to big on it.
I prefer Hoffman I love the way he is but like you said he messes up. My thing is will he ever get it together? Now I would not mind seeing Jill because I think she has potential to be good at caring on the system if she gets in check. So either of them could be good but keep messing up it all depends.

oh yeah! with a bear trap closing in your face! the 3D format would add a lot to the suspense of the movie.

& I always thought if this one is the end of the franchise, it would be epic if the ending would show Jill & Hoffman in the same trap, John telling them how they failed him in the tape (he anticipated it). but if I think a lot about it, its hard to believe he'd do this to his wife.

So glad you opened this topic the saw movies have to much to discuss 🙂
That definitely would add to the suspense.

About characters we have not seen complete closure on what about Eric's son the one in part 2. I would like to see him.

How did you feel about Strahm in part 5? I was so mad when he got so close yet so far.
Also Julie's character there was something off about her with the last trap I just always had a feeling we should or might see her again.

since it has the highest count I'm sure we'd see all of those characters. Julie's character could be shown as have "learned her lesson", Eric's son might be in a game because he was so "vengeful".
& I always felt bad about Agent Strahm, the way he was so dedicated & very close, & then he dies, in one of the worst ways possible.

also, if you watch the DVD/Blu-Ray version of Saw VI, after the credits, you see Amanda telling Jeff's daughter not to trust the man who saves her (Hoffman), its possible she told Agent Perez, & that's why she was suspicious.

do you think when Agent Perez said that everyone know about Hoffman, do you think she was serious? or just wanted him to obsess about it.

Sorry i had missed the second part about him maybe putting both traps on Hoffman and Jill and i could see that because of what he did to Amanda or what she did to herself. She failed and didn't learn but since it is his wife not to sure.

Yes Natasha I am hoping to see her for that reason.
You made some good point KOH his son could be vengeful or maybe Julie learned her lesson and could be a person to take it over if the other two failed.
The reason i was suspicious of Julie's character is because when they did her final scene she did not stick her hand in as much and it seems she was less hurt don't know if that was meant to say something or not.

I think Perez might have been serious I did not see this scene with Amanda I don't have blue ray but if it is the case then it could be true. I kind of hope it is because Hoffman has been so out of line with how he has been doing things.

Julie Benz isn't in the confirmed cast list, that doesn't mean we won't see her, it just means when they announced the confirmed cast, she wasn't in. they said they'd give closure to all characters, it means every survivor from the past movies will be there.

the Amanda scene is after the credits, here:

it also means that Amanda knew she'd die, she really did love John, she'd rather die than him knowing she was with Cecil when he killed his son.
Hoffman is badass, I like him, but he walks around murdering people & screwing with the traps, while Jill only had one chance for a trap, she didn't give Hoffman a key. I don't blame her for this because she wanted to show Hoffman a taste of his own medicine.
the producers said they'd give the movie a closure, but also an ending that doesn't make the next Saw movie impossible. so I'm sure they'd kill either Hoffman or Jill, one of them will live in the end.
there also have been talks of a spinoff in HBO if the movie flopped, it follows a copycat that follows Jigsaw's MO. I don't like the idea of a copycat we've never met, if there'd be a spinoff, give us a character we've seen in the movie, someone who supposedly "learned" his lesson, or maybe even Jill.

Thanks so much for the video I don't have volume at the moment but I watched it and was glad to see it.
I agree with you about Hoffman to me it seemed he got cocky and thought he was untouchable. I don't blame Jill for what she did in a way.
Okay well if they end good enough then i don't mind i understand things cant be perfect.
Really a show? I don't have HBO but i would buy it when it comes out. I like the idea but like you said if they use someone we know. I would rather see a character that I have invested in.
I will still hold hope for Julie 🙂
Also about Amanda I do believe she loved John and really wanted to do right by his work. I see your point there. I think like the others she just messed up it is kind of like no one can follow the rules completely except for John.

I think Amanda was the closest to following John's beliefs, Hoffman was jealous of the attention she got from John, so he threatened her. she still wasn't close enough to his beliefs though. he's really a genius, planning all those things in a dying bed, he's the smartest villain I've ever seen. Jill has potential in following John's rules, she only set up one trap, & it was to show Hoffman how his traps are like, we can't judge her yet.
I also have a feeling that Dr. Gordon is a lot more linked to the story than we realize, possibly a hidden accomplice, we've seen from Saw II through VI things that only a surgeon can do, like the key behind the snitch's eyes would have to be done by some professional, or the medical equipments in Saw III, or even the trap between the husband & wife in the school. or maybe he's been planning an anti-Jigsaw movement. I'm sure he won't be there just to show us him & his family living happily ever after.

I kind of like the idea of Gordan taking over this franchise. But then I would rather have him fight against it because of his family it is a dilemma. I think he could follow the rules. I think he could be close to John's beliefs. I am just excited to see how it turns out.
I agree though that Jigsaw is one of the best villains he plans and plans and thinks things through which is kind of creepy because you know he stands a chance in the end. He is up on my list.

I kinda see him more of a partner, providing help in planting keys or other things somewhere inside the subject's body, or maybe injecting poison...etc, I don't see him as a setting traps/recording tapes kind of guy.
when I think which of the two (Jill/Hoffman) should carry on John's work, I keep going back & forth, Hoffman is strong & brutal, but he doesn't care about the moral lessons (even though they were twisted) that John was giving, doesn't follow the rules, & he lacks the long term planning. Jill seems smart & capable of following the rules, she seems to care about John's moral massage, & she can be smart enough for long term planning, but she's not strong enough to capture 6 subjects, it would take her a long time to do so, & she may fail in case of a strong one like Xavier.
I have a feeling that Hoffman would screw himself in Saw VII, he's not very bright.

I really hope it succeeds in the box office, I don't want it to end so soon, the problem is that Paranormal Activity 2 will be released in theaters the same day, both movies have a large fanbase, though the 3D gimmick in Saw VII might attract more people this year.

I have not seen paranormal activity and right now really don't want to. I was going to but some of my friends said it was good some said it wasn't so i am torn.
I hope it does well to i think this series is good and is not only gore but had a point unlike some others.
Hoffman will most likely screw something up because he seems to be that kind of personality he goes for it even if it is wrong like if he thinks she should.
Jill could have the most potential. What if she gets a partner? That might help with her being so small.
I am going to miss Amanda lol.
Did you like Detective Perez?
