I hope i'm not the only one who thinks this but i believe that a big wrong has been done to us by the writer of the buffy finale (Joss isn't it?) and this is a new one!

Has anyone who's seen the scooby doo movie noticed an amazing resemblance between the ending of that film and the ending of 'Chosen'? Well I did.

Let me set the scene: they're in a CAVE, there are DEMON creatures everywhere that are destroyed by a HOLE IN THE ROOF and SUNLIGHT POURING IN and BOUNCING OFF A SHINY, POINTY, REFLECTY THING.

I rest my case. And those who haven't seen it, despite it's cruddiness, i suggest you watch it and see if i'm right.

I hated the Scooby Doo movie. It did a total injustice to the cartoon and I am dreading the arrival of the sequal. The only good thing about it is Sarah and Seth. Other than that ... it's a big load of poo. 😛

Even Sarah and Seth are going to have a hard time keeping the supreme smelliness that is Scooby Doo 2 afloat.

LMFAO! Xander_Lover is right! That's so funny! I hadn't seen that since Buffy ended and didn't even think about it....how freggin' hillarious is THAT?! WAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Thanks XL! 😀

Ive gotta agree. I used to watch that cartoon when i was little. I practically worshipped that cartoon. Yes, i was a loser, still am actually. Just kidding:: teeth : maybe.

I feel the acting was horrible. It was a complete dissapointment.

My grandson (aged 5) and I officially liked the Scooby Doo movie. It had all the right lines in almost all the right places and in some of the right locations😉. And there were farting and belching gags...

But seriously, it wasn't that bad - there was a masked Mexican wrestler in it after all 🙂

I think that the dog pulled off the best acting out of the bunch.
(I now feel really guilty, like i've betrayed SMG. Oh, well, the truth hurts).

I have no patience for farting and burping when i paid good money.

Mr. Pointy I'm with you, I liked the movie too! I thought it was hilarious. And yes the dogs acting was the best, but Sarah came in second!

I am so anxious for the second movie, I hope it'll be as funny as the first!

Well, I am somewhere between Kindred and Mr. Pointy...I liked it a lot for some scenes and was absotutely embarassed about the rest...but I wouln'd mind owning it...but not really for me...

We bought it for the kids to watch 😉 They're a great excuse for many things - potentially embarassing movies, watching cartoons, trips to Disneyland Paris, buying kid-type sweets (candy). Oh yes, I LOVE being a Grandad - releases the inner child...plus you get to give 'em back to the parents (hehehe)

Woh , totally right!!!!!!!!! The movie was okay.....actually if SMG wasn't in it I would have really not liked it, but she made things better. At least BuffyFans saw it ,right?

I think I'm in about the same place (say, it's crowded in here. mind your elbows!). Matthew Lilard was such a good Shaggy that it's hard not to feel bad for the rest of the cast. I like the actress who played Velma too. SMG and Freddy were horribly miscast. SMG is brilliant, but that part isn't right for her. And Freddy....well, his dad was a great actor and his wife is a great actor, so maybe someday some of it will rub off on him. The Shaggy/Scooby fart competition is one of those cinematic moments where I like to reflect that it took hundreds of people and God only knows how many thousands of dollars to create a minute of film that no one on the planet could possibly enjoy. Possible reactions to that scene range from mildly amused but unimpressed at the actual execution of the joke all the way to grossed out, offended, and angry on behalf of anyone ever involved in the original cartoon.

Oh comke on, that movie had everything: Robots, Mexican wrestlers, demons, Mr.Bean, evil Scrappy, voodoo priests and Sugar Gay. I found the movie to be a delightful romp with wicked teists and turns and who could possibly forget Freddie Prinze Jr. Award winning scene where he pretends to be a homeboy. And the big reveal that Scrappy Doo was the villain? EXCELLENT. But what the movie was really missing was a cameo appearance by Cory Felldman

With the exception of 5-year-old Grandsons 🙂

I think it's only fair that a film for kids should have gross bodily function gags that kids find hilarious. It's all very well being all post-modern and re-making the cartoon with an "adult" spin (E.g. dope-smoking gags) but let's not forget the children who presumably the producers were, at least partly, aiming the film at.
Young Connor is now heavily into the original cartoons as a result of the movie and I don't think he differentiates between the two...

I didn't mind Scooby Doo. I've seen it twice - the second time being after watching 'Chosen'. I thought it was as lame as the tv series (i never liked it that much) Matthew Lillard was definately the bestest Shaggy - I didn't like Scooby and I thought Scrappy was v. weird. The only people other than SMG and Lillard that I liked in it was Rowan Atkinson - he gets everywhere!

So, all of you that have replied so far, is that a 'no' then, to my fabulous conspiracy theory?
