It had to happen eventually. With all of the vampire shows on TV now, the zombies and werewolves were bound to show up too. Werewolves on MTV (Teen Wolf) and zombies on AMC (The Walking Dead) which is supposedly filmed principally around Atlanta, Georgia.

Anybody here fans of either or both of these shows?

I love The Walking Dead, I was actually reading the comic before they started the show. The comic is better, but the show is really good too.

The Walking Dead tv series is overrated. Only around 3 episodes of the first season were any good. The characters don't really seem to take the threat of zombies seriously, so why should I?

They are supposed to be hiding out in the woods and don't get the fact that they should be as quiet as possible instead of having petty arguments left and right. Idiots deserve to be eaten.

The OC's are more like card-board cut-out's than actual characters. And are we really supposed to give a damn about Lori? The way she is written makes me want to throw her to the zombies.

I hear season 2 is supposed to be better. Here's hoping.

One thing that I hate about this show is the zombie bandwagoners that never gave zombies the time of day or looked down on the genre are suddenly claiming how awesome zombies are and how much they always loved the genre.

As a life-long zombie fan, that's plain insulting.

I see were you're coming from, my husband feels the same way. He's been watching and loving zombie movies since age 10(he's 30 now) I think we can all agree on the bandwagoner hate. I mean Twilight did the same thing for Vamps. We gotta get over it.

Did you actually watch any of Season 2? The show really found its footing in Season 2
I watch the Walking Dead. I love it, can't for it to start...this Sunday! I've always been a fan of zombies, and I appreciate that it is an actual horror.

As for deserving to be eaten in their supposed "hide out," considering just what they are hiding out from, why in God's name are they camped out in a clearing surrounded by forest in the first place? There's no way to see the zombies until they're close enough to spit on, at which time they're under heavy attack, and THEN they go scrambling for weapons. Given the situation, every adult and adolescent in the camp should be armed at all times, and if firearms and ammunition are an issue, as they seem to be, constantly, edged weapons are just as affective one on one, and never need reloading. Go to any garden supply store or Army Navy store and get all the machetes, parangs, and bolo knives that they can lay their hands on, and save the guns for when a large group attacks.

Getting back to the hideout itself, they should be in a large warehouse or storage building, well away from the city proper, that are surrounded by high chain link fences, preferably topped with razor wire, well fortified and with all of the food, water, and useful material that they can scavenge with daily hunting parties.

It may be more dramatic the way that they are doing it on the show, but from a survival and tactical standpoint, what they are doing is nothing short of suicidal. About the only thing that they did get right is that they are near a plentiful and (hopefully) unpolluted water supply.

(And, just for the record, I am neither a zombie "band wagoner,"
nor do I "look down" on the genre. I watch the show just so that I can rant about how little these so called survivors actually know about surviving in a situation like that. Watch "Falling Skies" if you want to see how it should be done properly.)

Falling Skies is better than I thought it would be. The people on that show are much more realistic (and intelligent). I even like the older son, who isn't the typical rebellious cliche I was expecting.

You know I watched the first episode or two and I thought it was great, it seemed like a breath of fresh air, tv wise. I haven't really watched beyond the first few eps because at that point I was watching SO many other tv series. I wanna get back into it, and Falling Skies as well, and watching crappy Terra Nova has opened my eyes hehe!

The Walking Dead: Season 2 (Entire) Spoilers

Anybody fans of The Walking Dead? I love this show so much! So excited for season 3 this fall!

YES! I love The Walking Dead 🙂

I've wanted to talk about the morality subject that pitted Shane v. Dale.

And about the season finale of course:
- Rick killing Shane
- The NINJA!
- The way Laurie reacted to Rick's confession
- The prison and season 3

I wasn't crazy about season 2, I thought the first half moved way to slow, although the last episode has me pretty excited for the next season.

My favorite characters are Daryl and Glenn. My least favorite is Andrea. My favorite to hate is Lori.

Have any of you read the comics? I haven't but am tempted to read them.

Daryl & Glen are my favs too. I wish Andrea & Lori would get eaten already and the kid is pretty annoying but yeah, I love WD
There's no way we're going to be able to have a discussion if everyone is marking their posts with fake spoilers. I'm marking this thread as season 2 spoilers so please only mark season 3 spoilers.

I haven't seen Season 2. Thanks for warning us.... I'm outta here! :)
I'm not a fan of the whole cannibalistic, contagious, zombie hoard genre, and I've never read the comic series (and don't particularly want to) but I do like this show, because it concentrates much more on the people and how they react to and deal with what could just as easily be almost any sort of large scale catastrophe. I can pit my own survival skills against theirs. So far, I've outguessed them at every turn.

Besides which, it's shot around Atlanta and Northwest Georgia, so I like to try and spot familiar scenery.

I never read the comics. I like the show. I also like Andrea. Sometimes, I'm on the fence when comes to Andrea, only because of what she says and does sometimes.

It's the best show on tv right now, in my very humble opinion.

I love Daryl; I just want to look after him. Lol

The last 3 episodes were insane. I can only sum them up with my new favourite word: RICKTATORSHIP!!!

Hehe RICKTATORSHIP! :D
Yeah, love this show.

I never really got the whole zombie obsession until this. It isn't so much about the zombies, as it is about people being knocked down on the food chain. It's completely interesting to see these people react and change after this happens to the world.

Daryl is my favorite. He has this weird innocence about him, even though he is completely able to take care of himself. It's interesting.

OMG.... I wouldn't watch "The Walking Dead" for the longest, because I have always hated zombies and how gross they are. But my husband came back from deployment insisting that I had to watch, so I decided to give it a chance for him. I'm SO GLAD I did! I watched Season 1 over the course of a day and a half, then immediately went to Amazon Prime to buy Season 2 on demand. LOL

So far I am totally loving the show. I was absolutely devestated when Dale was killed, and shocked as hell when Sophia walked out of that barn. (I called that she was going to be a zombie, but I wasn't expecting her to be at the farm.) I am still sad for Rick over how things went down with Shane, but I was glad to see Shane go after everything he did in Season 2 (that bastard was a few screws loose, folks).

How can you say you were glad to see Shane go?!! Best character of the season!!! It makes me want to stop watching. I mean, kill of Carole or Andrew, who cares about them!
