The Walking Dead (Possible spoilers)

Sorry....did I fall asleep....or is that GATEGOD up there talking about zombies? Man....these meds are stronger than I thought....XD.

Anyhoo, I feel I'm missing out not watching this show. But for now, I am reading the Walking Dead graphic novels, which are pretty awesome. By the time I get around to watching the show I should be pretty stoked....

Haha...I enjoy this show, but in my opinion you don't sound like a troll. Not everyone's going to love it. I honestly understand why you hate the characters, because sometimes I ask myself, "Why am I doing this to myself? These people are annoying as hell." For the most part, I like all of them. However, they have all irritated me at one point or another.

Sophia - Why didn't you stay under the car? WHY?

Carol - Chill. Heaven probably doesn't exist. (I'm kidding, her daughter had just died and that was the last thing I wanted to hear...in all seriousness, run out into the woods if you don't trust Rick and we'll see how long you last. HMPH)

Carl - What are you doing here? Get outta here Carl! (I like Carl, that was a joke because he's always running away and ending up in...situations he shouldn't...be in).

Lori - Please just...get eaten already. She was tolerable until the finale. SERIOUSLY, NOW YOU'RE MAD AT HIM FOR DOING WHAT YOU BASICALLY TOLD HIM TO DO? UGH.

T-dog - Oh who could hate this guy? Sure he's totally pointless but...his name's T-dog. He's like a novelty. (Seriously, why is he there? I don't dislike him but they should give the guy more screen time or just kill him already)

Hershel - He annoyed me when he wanted to kick them out, although I totally understood why he wanted to...but he won me over when he got drunk and then he realllly did when had that smirk on his face during the finale when Rick was giving them his, "Listen to me or die" speech.

Dale- BUTT.OUT. GOSH!!! Although your death did sadden me :cry:

Shane - You're insane, chill. Well...now you're dead. Oh well you had it coming.

Basically, Lori is the only person I cannot stand. Grr.

Oh and I love Glenn 🙂.
 
What did everyone think of the Season 3 premiere?!
I loved every minute of it. There was so much action, and the walkers with the riot gear on?! EPIC!
I actually found myself feeling just a tiny bit sorry for Lori. But only a little but because she had all this coming to her. She deserves to get treated like crap for all she did to Rick.
I love love love Glenn and Maggie, and Carol and Daryl. Can't wait to see more f their relationships!
I KNEW something was gonna happen to either Hershel or Beth. In the preview Rick says "We spilled blood!" when talking about taking over the prison so I was afraid either Hershel or Beth would be killed. That scene where Rick hacks off Hershel's leg though was soooo sick!! LOL
I can't wait to see what happens with these prisoners they found!

I haven't seen the first episode of season 3 yet. It was on tv here on Tuesday night but I didn't get to watch it 🙁 I did record it though, I might watch it tomorrow 🙂

[MENTION=8356]HisMrs[/MENTION] - I love Glenn and Maggie, and Carol and Daryl aswell. Although, if they make it romantic between Carol and Daryl I don't think I'll like that. I wouldn't be suprised I guess, but I don't want them to go that way.
 
Overall, I really enjoyed the season 3 premiere.
Here are my jumbled thoughts on the episode: I thought it took them a long time to finally go into the prison and check it out. It was a little odd to see Carl out with a gun helping the adults fight, so different from him always running off in season 2. What was with Carl being upset at Lori? Is he just picking up on Rick's anger towards her or am I forgetting something? Also, do we know how old Carl is? And Herschel's daughter? Scenes with the two of them seemed a little off/creepy.

It definitely left me wanting more....can't wait for the next episode. 🙂

I am still laughing at Carol's sexual jokes and suggesting she and Daryl "screw around". I hope we see more of this side of them. 😀
 
I don't know... I felt that nothing happen in the season premiere.
They killed a lot of zombies which is fun for a while. Then they sat around resting a bit and then continued to killed some more zombies... and by now I thought, haven't we seen this already?

This is actually a bit of a problem for the whole show. Last season got a bit tiresome, with them spending ages at that farm.

Also think that many of the characters are rather stupid.
But that's basically a problem for every TV show lol. It's an easy way to create drama by letting people do stupid things.
It doesn't bother me much really.

The show is really well made though and I still enjoy it quite a bit.

I thought the same thing about Carl and Beth. I was like "Ewww please don't hook them up cause that would be creepy!!" It would feel like pedophilia to me. LOL

The kid who plays Carl is 13, so I'm assuming his character is the same age, and Beth is supposed to be 16, but I'm pretty sure that the actress is older so...yeah, really creepy. Haha if he has a crush, I understand that, but if she does too...well that's just a little strange. I can't imagine why a 16 year old would have a crush on a 13 year old kid.

Yes. The show took a turn for the worst because AMC fired Frank Darabont because they SUCK. The show wouldn't even exist if it weren't for him. The first season was much better, then he was fired and...season 2 was really ridiculous for the most part. I liked the season 3 premiere though, I felt like quite a bit happened. Hopefully this season is much better. I mean I still enjoyed season 2, but it wasn't as great as it could have been. Should have been, I should say. Last season was like a soap opera and I agree, it became tiresome.

Yeah last season they definitely focused on Laurie and Ricks relationship as well as Shanes transformation into super creep crazy man.

I disagree that the show took a "turn for the worse", but I do agree that it was a major mistake to fire Frank Darabont. His directing was one of the reasons Season 1 was so succcessful; each episode felt like a mini-movie. Season 2 was more slow, which I didn't mind, but I know a lot of people did. My only real complaint with Season 2 was that it took us way too long to find out what happened to Sophia. It felt like the show was dragging a lot for the first part of the season.

Interestingly, in the book "World War Z," it was noted that the ideal weapon for zombie self defense, at least against one or two zombies, was a short heavy sword, similar to a gladius or kopis. Add to that a Kel-Tek PM-30 handgun (see below) with a couple of spare
magazines, for a total of 120 rounds of .22 Magnum, and you should be just about as well armed as anyone could hope to be and still not be bothered with a rifle or shotgun. I'm kind of re-bumping this thread. I had to search for it. Pretty much everyone I talked to about last night's episode was in shock. I might even go on a limb here and say it was their best episode ever. Personally I'm not one who needs a lot of zombies on the show for it to be good. I prefer some drama, story progression, with interesting zombie scenarios. WELL last night probably had a little of everything. Intense zombie action, the story progressed and changed in in many aspects.. and so on.

Anyhow, who is caught up and saw last night's amazing episode?
 
I thought it was a really good episode too. So heartbreaking. It will be interesting to see how the dynamic changes with everything that happened.

I wasn't expecting
Lori to die. I didn't read up on any spoilers and was pretty sad to see her go. She wasn't a favorite character of mine, but I really like the actress and I thought her character brought a neat dynamic into the fold. What on earth is Rick going to do now with two kids?! And honestly a baby is nothing but a burden to them right now. I'm glad someone finally mentioned feeding the baby, the whole time Lori was talking about saving the baby I was wondering what they thought they were going to do about feeding it, I mean we saw Carl about to eat dog food a few episodes back....🙁 😱

Carl is going to be such a messed up kid with everything he has seen and done.

It will be interesting to see what develops with Andrea and the Mayor.

T-dog sacrificing himself was so sad! I really hope Carol somehow escaped and got to a safe place.
 
Last night's episode was absolutely heartbreaking, but also amazingly epic. I knew they were in trouble because the first part of the episode was so "happy". They were all having a good ole time out there, about to celebrate Hershel up and walking on his crutches and I turned to my hubby and said "Something bad is about to happen... It's too happy". And sure enough...
I was bawling by the end of last night's episode. I had been spoiled that one of the main cast was going to die, but I wasn't expecting what we got!!
When T-Dog got bit in the prison yard, I was like OH NO!!!!! because there was no way they could save him from that. And then sacrificing himself to save Carol?? Absolutely amazing. They really let him go out as a hero, so I am really happy for that, at least. And as much as I hate Lori, I was so heartbroken over how she died. As a mother (and a pregnant one, at that), it was so hard to watch, and I found myself crying for her. But the crowning glory, the moment that absolutely broke me, was Rick's reaction.... My God. Andrew Lincoln deserves an Emmy for that performance. I could literally feel his pain from his sobs.
 
I am about to get my mother-in-law into the show. I'm assuming she will like it. I told her that the zombies are secondary on the show- in which I still believe it is. However, after last night's episode it defiantly feels that way. Of course the zombies can add in intensity and the show is based around it, but now there is a lot bigger story forming. I actually like it. I liked the old way too- the basic survival. What I like about this upcoming story is that it could continue on for the next season or it could go away like a snap.
