The Worst Ending

good point... I myself personally would hate a Buffy/Angel ending.
(DUH!)

Yet, from the moment someone falls in love with two poeple who fall in love, you just can't help yourself. You'll always think back to the [romantic] moment when Buffy killed Angel or when Willow and Oz first met. It's something that you've just worshipped since the day it happened.

For example, Buffy and Spike have a sexually obsessed, non-normal relationship... but darn it... they'd better end up together. I don't care how messed up their relationship is, I just want it to happen. Same goes for everybody else.

So, have a little heart and let people hope and pray for their best possible ending since Buffy's over and this all we're ever going to get!
 
I know, and I'm sure that Buffy and Spike will get a happy-ish ending. What I can't understand is the Buffy/Angel, Willow/Oz thing. Buffy and Angel were only together for two seasons (and maybe a little of the first if you count that), but they've been apart for four episodes (and the first if you choose). Basically, in the context of the truly dating, they've only been together a very small percentage of the run of the show and both of them have since moved on (several times in Buffy's case). The idea that they have any chance of getting back together is just crazy, and if it actually did happen in the show it would be cheap and unbelievable. They haven't even spent a significant amount of time together in several years. I'm sure Angel will make some kind of appearance on Buffy before the end of the show (or at least he should, he's a pretty major character in the Buffy-verse), but it will probably just be a helping out kind of thing.

And as for Willow/Oz, she went GAY for christ's sake! Just look at the poll going on right now. There are people that, despite the fact that Willow has defined herself as gay several times, are arguing that she could (or should) be bi just so that Oz can come back and they can be together. That just seems rediculous to me. Willow and Oz are over, end of story, and I wouldn't be surprised if Oz didn't even make another appearace in the show since he's not nearly as important to the unfolding events as Angel is.

Thanks 🙂 I just don't get how people can argue against a characters' stated orientation for something as minor as a relationship three years past. Buffy and Angel are great shows, my favorites on TV right now as a matter of fact, but not show is worth getting THAT involved in. If Willow is gay, she's gay, and leave it at that. I liked Oz a lot, but Seth Green was looking for a bigger career and Willow was moving in different directions as a character. If there's one thing that Buffy and Angel have re-enforced as shows its that you shouldn't get too comfortable with the way things are because they always get shaken up. Nothing stays the same.
 
He speaks the truth. Angel has been on Buffy before in a helping manner and Seth Green has definetly moved on with his career.
 
The finale is a very delicate subject and no matter how good Joss writes it, there wil lalways be someone who thought it was bad. In my opinion the worst ending would be going back to the "Normal Again" scenario. Joss knows better than to do that. I do think some sort of cope out ending like having it all by a prophecy dream of Buffy and she knows what's about to happen, would probably be bad, but if it was pulled off in an interesting and efffective way, I may like it. The only way I think the ending will be bad is if some stupid dialogue occurs and some really stupid decisions are made. Joss knows what he is doing though. I think the perfect ending would just have a lot of humour, some great surprises and one awesome battle involving EVERYONE. Also, not to end on complete closure. Like having the battle over, everyone is walking away talking about going to the bronze tomorrow night, having a good time, they all slowly walk off camera. Buffy tells them she will just be a minute, and we see her morph into vamp-face. This ending provides closure to the series but immediately keeps you wanting and asking for more, and you know you will never get it. That would be cool.
