The X Factor

I don't watch the show, as I am not in the UK, obviously.....but Faith here has been enthusiastically telling me about the musician TABBY...and I thought I'd come back from my offline sabbatical just this one more time to weigh in on what I think about the guy.

From the short music files from the X Factor show that Faith has kindly provided me with, I can see why he's getting all the kudos. He has a good, strong vocal presentation, an electric stage presence, and his guitar work is first rate. This young man will go quite far, if handled right.

I'd be most interested in seing how he does in a studio setting. But judging by what I've heard, that won't be a concern. If and when his first CD comes out...I'm there to listen to it.

There ya go, Faith. Are ya happy now?? 😉 😛 😛

Truth be told...I'm here under protest. I'm not supposed to be back on the BB yet, but Faith threatened my very life if I didn't give my vote of confidence to Tabby in this thread.

Can you please untie me now, Faith? I can't feel my hands and legs anymore! And do you know how hard it is to type using only my nose? ? ? 😛😛

Lol...I'm only joking of course. Don't hurt me! I really do like this Tabby kid. Those of you who've never heard this guy would do well to. He's very good. Sorry to hear he got voted off. Some of these shows are way too political. The talented performers get voted off, and the really shyte ones get to stay. It's ridiculous. But at least Sharon Osbourne will make sure Tabby will be getting his due.

Good to see you again OM - don't be a stranger now:)
lol I can't believe you actually posted 😀 Your definatly in my good books now. And hey i'm just spreading the love 😉

One thing you will definately discover about me as you get to know me is that i am OBSESSED with music, particularly rock but i like to keep informed of most styles, whether i enjoy listening to it or not.

Whilst i'm really not a pop listener i do tend to follow the various popstar tv competitions, generally just to see how bad they can get and what rubbish act will be getting number ones for the next 12 months, or in Michelle McManus' case 12 days! :happy53:

This X Factor series though has had me really interested, firstly because Sharon was one of the judges and secondly because of the inclusion of Tabby and the rock genre in a competition that would normally be pop dominated. It's been great to see Tabby highlight the fact that rock is easily the equal, if not superior, of any other style of music due to the raw passion and intensity of his performances compared to the run of the mill, by the numbers efforts of some of the other acts.

It was a real shame that he didn't make it to the final because he truly deserved to. Let's be honest, out of any of the finalists it was only Sharon's three acts that had any chance of an actual career in the business as the other six acts ranged from the dull to the ridiculous. None of them could possible hope to have a regular place in the charts regardless of how much money is thrown into their promotion. Steve, G4, Rowetta, Two To Go, Voices With Soul, Verity, never gonna be top ten material. Roberta, Cassie and Tabby all could, and probably still will, sell a lot of records.

So let G4 or Steve have the X Factor title, it's about all the glory they will ever get! 😉

I was in New York when the live shows started so I never heard Roberta sing so I can't comment on her.

I started watching the show for the same reasons you stated Pagan, I like Mrs O, and of course the audition rounds are always amusing. From Tabby's first audition he was my fave, he walked in the door and he was a rock star, the image the attitude, the persona.

Cassie has such an amazing voice for someone so young, again her stuff is something I wouldn't tend to buy all the time, but the kind of thing that if I like a song i'll get it.

Steve is someone i've disliked from the start, he seemed really bland. His choice of songs were dismal, he has no sense of self, he will do what Simon tells him to. Did I mention that I find him boring? I'm sure there are big Steve fans out there, that don't like Tabby so each to their own.

Another thing is they keep on saying Tabby has the young vote, yet funnily enough most 'young' people I spoke to like Steve, he's apparantly 'very sexy' (sick bag please). And the older generation, like Tabby, it just depends. My mother who has never watched this sort of thing in her life let alone voted, was phoning in vote after vote for him. Probably something to do with the fact that she like myself loves rock music and loved his version's of Bon Jovi and Guns 'n' Roses.

Which personally I was wary of, being the huge Bon Jovi fan that I am, I hate it when artists cover their songs no matter who they are. Yet I really like Tabbys version, but yet again he to is a fan so he would treat it right.

Am I rambling yet?

As for the winner i'm predicting Steve, the record contract is with Simon's company, he actually owns the X Factor series, and he was the last person to have two contestants....coincidence?

I was listening to Simon Cowell on Chris Moyles' show this morning and they were saying how it looked almost certain that G4 were going to win because people were voting for them for a laugh.

Which would be fine except that if that is true it has cost some actual decent artists, most recently Tabby, the chance of getting the big record contract and the exposure of winning the contest.

Ah well, i'm certain Sharon is going to make certain all three of her acts do well regardless of X Factor 😉
