^ LOL good point!
By definition, a fact is "something that is known to have happened or to be true or to exist", and that sounds a lot like what I learned. But I myself think it all has to do with human perception. A fact (or any fact for that matter) may not be true, but we typically see it as such; to the human mind it appears to be without a doubt proven and correct. So it all really depends on how we as a species see something.
For example, it's a well know "fact" that (typically) the sky is blue. It's one of the most basic facts out there, really. But I wonder, some animals are colourblind right? So they would see things differently, maybe the world as a shade of gray or what not. So how do we know, for sure, that our way is the "right" way of seeing the sky? How do we know that humans don't have some altered sight perception as well, and the sky is really red? If that's how we've seen it for our entire existence, we wouldn't know any better. And because we (as a whole, at least) seem to have this frame of mind that we're a superior species in our evoloution, and that our way IS the true way things are, we wouldn't ever think to really question it. Looking at it like this, it seems that much more possible that the sky is differently coloured, perhaps every colour is REALLY the opposite of how we see it, and since every human on earth is like this, we'd all agree on something that really isn't true.
So, if you look at it like that, facts really are a complex thing. If a fact is really something that is BELIEVED to be correct, than yes, there would be facts in life. But if a fact is really something that is ACTUALLY correct, than no, there really aren't any facts out there, at least none that we know about. And at this point, we really can't know if the two ever "overlap" (or are the same), or not. So we now have "believed facts" and "actual facts".
So, in my opinion, no, there are no real "facts" 🙂
That was fun! ^_^
