Things That Don't Make Sense

Good observation. Maybe he was able to enter since it was a hotel room? Just a guess. The main thing that doesn't make sense is how Buffy and co keep their anomenity (sp?) and why people in Sunnydale are so quick to "forget" all the supernatural phenomena that happen as well as Buffy's role in stopping them.

It's pretty clear that the people of Sunnydale know that their town isn't exactly...normal. People tend to suppress what they don't want to remember. It really doesn't seem like they forget about it, and they wouldn't have given her the "class protector" award if they "forgot" about the fact that she always seems to be there when something weird happens. I mean Xander lied about not remembering his possession and Joyce lied about not remembering hitting on Xander...people lie. I doubt anyone in Sunnydale who witnessed the supernatural phenomena firsthand forgot any of it.

I always thought the ending of "Normal Again" was weird. I mean everybody always just says the demon made her hallucinate all that asylum stuff, but then the ending totally suggests that the asylum was totally real and Sunnydale was just Buffy being crazy.
I mean why would it end like that if the asylum wasn't real? Once they gave her antidote her hallucinations should have just quit and nothing more about the asylum should have been featured, but then they show her going catatonic and the doc saying that they lost her. I mean WHAT????

I liked that the ending was open to interpretation. Maybe she was just nuts and her life in Sunnydale isn't real. I'm convinced that it was all a lie (the asylum) and that her being the slayer, etc. is real...it's just interesting to think about.

Random thought: why were Spike, Drusilla, and Angelus so taken with destroying humanity during S2? You'd think that they would've realized that in destroying all of humanity, they'd be taking out their only food source.

Well Dru was just crazy, Spike actually had the intelligence to figure that one out but who knows about Angelus? I never thought he was particularly intelligent 😉

I always assumed that when the Mayor summoned the demon he mentioned he was trying to stop the Slayer. The demon knew Giles worked for the Council or that he was the Watcher to the current Slayer so he warned him as soon as he left the Mayor's. Or, the Mayor mentioned Giles by name as someone he wanted to 'get at' and, again, the demon warned him.

I don't know if it has been said before but would it be possible that the demon might have known Giles when he was younger (when he was into the dark stuff with Ethan and the others) and known about his wereabouts as a Watcher, since he owed him a favor? So if the Mayor talked even a bit about the slayer, the demon would make the connection and talk to Giles about it... Hence the alliance against the Mayor's plan...

About Giles and that mage guy in "Enemies", I've always liked to imagine that the mage heard Giles lived in Sunnydale (possibly from Giles himself; they might have kept in touch after Giles introduced him to his wife), so after his first meeting with the Mayor about removing Angel's soul, he went to pay Giles a visit so that he could show him the pictures of his wife and kids that he keeps in his wallet. Then Giles would have asked what brought him to town, and then the Mayor's plans for Angel would have come out, at which point Giles would have called in his favor. It's also possible that Giles had enlisted the mage's help before, because the mage said his debt was now repaid *in full*, suggesting that he'd been working at repaying the debt for a while but didn't think it was enough.

Jenny was surprised when Angelus showed up in her classroom in "Passion". Yet in "School Hard" an entire gang of vampires, led by Spike, stormed the school. Huh.
