An hour a night isn't that bad - in fact thats approx what I do while laying in bed waiting for sleep to come. It is the people that are on ALL the time, that you can tell through the comments they make, they are far too fixated on not only Buffy and these boards BUT the internet as a complete. There is a great big wide world out there and it is a sad fact that there are people who choose to read about it instead of experience - and I know some of them are on this site, though I will not mention any names.
I agree that real life is more important than discussing .... Then again, maybe if like you said, one member takes your advice, it's a win situation.
Well that particular comment was actually made with a hint of jest because I was pointedly comment on one specific person. In general though, there are some that need to realise it was JUST a TV show and while very entertaining, in the scheme of things is pretty insignificant.

Life is what you make of it? That's pretty trite and vacuous. Take a walk in downtown Nairobi and then try and convince yourself of that. It's really easy to makAe sweeping quasi-philosophical statements like that while in the developed world sitting pretty with a net connection and running water. There's this great book entitled
Mountains Beyond Mountains. You should check it out. And also, it's pretty obvious that your declarations stem from your own guilt of 'wasting time' on a BTVS forum (I gleaned this from your 3K+ post count).
Another thing you should check out is

Now, I must admit, I have never been to Nairobi sounds absolutely terrible. I have, however, been to Zambia, Zimbabwe and Ghana and next Easter I will be going to a very poor region of Pakistan. I have seen some very sad things BUT I have also seen alot of hope. BUT thats not what we are discussing here.
We're discussing people in OUR world (and while we inhabit the same planet we are on different worlds to out brothers and sisters of Africa) that have an opportunity to go out and experience life and not just read about it and/or discuss which fictional character was in love with another fictional character more than a different fictional character.
I don't deny that I have spent some considerable amount of time on BB, maybe in the past could be argued too much (I know Buffy Summers sometimes wished I was here less
😛) but I still did things, still had real worldly experiences and on the other side I still have them. This weekend as a pure example, I will be in a Local Community Centre in London helping people with Severe Learning Difficulties.
Last weekend I was in Birmingham at a great little place where I was part of a team helping to rejuvenate a Local Youth Centre so that the kids of the area could have somewhere to go rather than be on the streets of an evening in an area where knife crime is high.
The message was not aimed at everyone, just those few that really do need to get more from life - you know who you are.
Ohhh and I know ALOT about the LHC, bored to tears with that now. They hosted a series of lectures in London about a month ago about what it does and what they hope to gain and while it was interesting, I have had enough.
