I just thought I would make a thread where we could discuss what we think of Cordelia becoming part demon and later on a higher being, did you think it created a intresting storyline? Liked it and what it did for the charecter or hated it and wished it never happened. So discuss if you want.....

the demon part was weird cause they never explained it and the higher being part was just stupid cause she came back "evil"

Well, i liked the idea. The becoming part demon was especially interesting. She was willing for the sake of Angel, to do some that would totally change her life, and to give up her dream life of acting. Becoming a higher being also showed how much her character had grown and matured. I think it also made a very interesting story arc for her character.

I thought it was a pretty cool storyline. I mean, I know what happens, but it's sad...the last time we really see Cordy. Does she come back different? Or is it just when she's pregnant? I'm just a little unclear about that. Back to the topic, sorry about that, it was a good ending to the season. What a cliffhanger! Plus, I thought that scene was well done. Now, the demon thing was pretty interesting, although I wish more interesting stuff would have come from that.

I loved the story arc where she became a demon, but I hated her "higher being" thing. It was sort of corny, IMO, and when she came back, the storyline was really messed up.

I did not like either really, I could deal with the demon part but to me that shouldnt have changed her visions. Doyle was half demon and they still caused him pain and they were much more intense and I loved how intensed the visions looked.

Cordy becoming a higher being I just thought was corny also, espically the way they dressed her for the scene(dressed in all white, blonde(gold) hair and she was all good and not longer bitchy in that season which made it worse). For me it wouldve been more intresting if they kept Cordy the way she origanlly was(bitchy) and more like had her forced up there and have us hear us bitch about it when she is getting lifted to the higher realm.

The only thing I liked how Cordy while she was a higher being was when we saw her in that realm she seemed like her old self.

yea, but after awhile bitchy Cordelia probably get really annoying if she always stayed the same, she would be such a 2 dimensional character. I like how they showed how much she changed and matured.

The thing about Cordy is that she always spoke her mind and sure cared about her self mostly but we always got to see moments where she cared for other people(like in Homecoming where she admits to Buffy that she loves Xander and everything) theres a way to make Cordy still be bitchy and not be a 2-dimensional charecter. And that was the greatness of Cordy she spoke what she thought(as we saw in Earshot)

I agree..I'm not saying she shouldn't have changed a bit...Changes are good..just not to higher being🙂

What can I say, s4 killed my feelings for Cordy. She'd be better off not getting all higher-beingy!

I agree with slayerangel and ana8. I liked the half-demon storyline. It was a nice way to end the 'visions causing her pain' storyline, but I didn't like the 'higher-being' plotline. I just keep picturing Cordy in Season 1 and 2 of Buffy, and even though I know her character has changed, it just seemed all wrong for her to become a higher-being.

But still that confuses me, Doyle was half demon and the visions still caused him pain(a bad headache) and when Cordy turned half demon how come they didnot cause her any pain whatso ever? Do you think it all depends on what type of demon they are?
