I hate to do this, but when discussing the show we want people to maintain their own beliefs, perspectives, but when there are things in the transcript that show otherwise, some members might tend to disagree. But it is obvious that removal of the heart from a vampire does not AUTOMATICALLY kill the vampire. The process does eventually kill the vampire though. But there are too many holes to correctly identify the truth.
And N4H has a great insight with the whole "non-stake" thing when used against the vampire. Non-wooden objects seem to have no effect on the heart.
