Today's Laugh

From 1923 episode 7 'The Rule of 500'

Alex: I’m British. All we do is travel the world and become experts in the places we visit.
Spencer: That don’t make sense.
Alex: Like I said, I’m British.
Spencer: So you’re culture is based on pretending to be experts in things you know nothing about…
Alex: No, baby. That’s the French.

😀

Taking a final quiz for a class online.

The first two questions were write in answers. Okay, fine, this is gonna be that kind of test.

I guess the professor had a brain fart or something because the remaining 13 questions of the quiz look like this.

What is ____?

A) No answer text provided
B) No answer text provided
C) No answer text provided
D) the literal only answer

Somehow this nincompoop forgot to write other answers to the questions 🤣. My favorite part is that one or two are literally the same answers formatted differently (I.e. 14th or fourteenth) and even though they’re the exact same answer, some of them are marked WRONG. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

That is a handsy bear
Buffy never knows where the next demonic attack will come from. Sometimes it's from the place she'd never think to look, like this one time:

Luckily, Spike was there to help her out. When Pinhead told him to be prepared for pain, even Pinhead paused as Spike laughed caustically saying he already dates Buffy (maybe with Buffy pausing to punch him and yelling "we're not dating!"). Just hope that Pinhead doesn't then realize that to hurt Spike he has to hurt Buffy, but then he was going to do that anyway...love the ones that can regenerate...

I saw only a handful of cartoons, but I do know that Penny and her dog were the ones actually saving the day rather than her uncle, Inspector Gadget.

This is the actual voice actress who did Penny back then who did this brief parody of the series:

The Trio should just admit defeat and leave Sunnydale now. And Buffy is doomed. And Wolfram & Hart have surely contacted her by now, or soon will.

I just got an E-Mail from Donald Trump calling me a Patriot & asking me to Donate money!!!!!!

Well I found it funny!

I mean, does he think all us old Brits work in American Highschool libraries?
One letter asking for contributions to the Republican Party had me laughing, but I'd had been miffed if I were actually Republican. It was all in large print and in asking for donations, asked if you'd actually put the check in, if you actually put a stamp on it, if you actually mailed it (all of this was on the envelope itself!). I laughed, because it was insulting me (and everyone else) while asking me for money.

I did ask a Republican friend of mine about it who said it was necessary for some people, and thought it was serious, not a scam.

(I could add more, like how the NRA's fear tactics bit themselves on the butt which made me laugh. Which I knew of because of a gun club I used to belong to, though one of the reasons I quit was finding out the manager was either giving or selling our names to right wing organizations, from the mundane Republicans asking for money to really kooky stuff, and at first lied about it when me and a friend finally figured out it was him and confronted him about it.)

On a side note, separate from that, one guy tried to get me to buy some hat with a patch of the US flag, and claiming I wasn't patriotic for not doing so. He gave up when I laughed in response as I kept walking. I don't know why, but I tend to find buzz words meant to trigger an automatic response funny.

As for what you got, it could really be from Trump supporters (not necessarily endorsed by him), or it could be by scam artists casting the net wide and large. The very same person who sent it might also send forth waves of charity pleas as well, and anything else he thinks will make him bank. It wouldn't surprise me if he was from another continent than North America.

Normally I would expect it to come from Nigeria, but their scam E-mails are normally in really bad English :)
Today I used the phrase "I call haxx" for the first (and I hope last, even if it's technically better than the classic "BS!") time ever. Don't want to get into it, but I got into argument with a teen boy who was going to game with his friends rather than doing what he said he was going to do, and citing a technicality that wasn't even true (save in the most literal sense, in no way did he want me to check his story).

He laughed, and then I laughed. (He's still going to pay for it, though it could've been worse for him.)

Amused at myself for using it, I went to the boy's mother, and at the first opportunity used the phrase, "Great Galaxy!" (I'm reading the Foundation series again, forgot how much I loved this, and a mix of 50s and Asimov's idea of galactic slang, though strangely no shortened words for polysyllabic words, you know, like how "moving pictures" is shortened to "movies" in our world.) She's used to me and didn't even ask. 😅
