I first saw this prop in a private collection.
I then was asked by an owner of one (yes---there is more than one that was made for Buffy---Buffy.Wiki. has it WRONG when they say there was only ONE)
if I would like to purchase his from him and I was given access to dimensions and other information about it...such as the fact that the three that were made for Buffy were ALL made of Foam Latex.
I didn't purchase the original I was offered (though it was the one that Olaf carried) however I did list the auction for the fellow on my web-site as well, just to give it more coverage. It ended up selling for a little more than $2000.
Then I was let in on the absolute WANT of this prop by my friend Kathryn who lives in Scotland.
One thing led to another and I suddenly found myself speaking to a machinist friend of mine who specializes in THOR Hammers.
When I sent him a pic with rough dimensions for Olaf's Hammer he got back to me very excited, "This thing is a MONSTER!"
He was so impressed with it that he rushed right out to his shop and mocked it up for size reference.
He plans to sculpt it in foam and cover it in fiber-glass.
He'll then take it to a foundry and have it dipped in Aluminum.
He say's that, even with the body being hollow and consisting of Aluminum, it will still weigh somewhere between 50 and 60 pounds.
What do you guy's think?
