Yes, we should *assume* that all threads about TV shows contain spoliers YET it is just common courtesy to use spoiler tags if you are talking about something that hasn't aired yet.
Actually Joan I wasn't even responding to you personally.
Otherwise I would have quoted you like I'm doing now.
I was simply pointing out that anything is a spoiler in a thread without a tag unless it is basic comments.
It's why I used the blatant and over-the-top "Sookie is alive in the pilot" example.
Frankly, for someone
who hasn't even watched the pilot the fact that Sookie and Bill are even mentioned is a spoiler. Or that it's about vampires (as you mentioned).
Don't you agree?
Or this:

I love the idea of vampires trying to assimilate into human society.
Might not be a spoiler to
you, but to
others it is.
See what I'm talking about?
Even simple things can be used however someone wants them to be used. All depends on how tight the blinders are applied.
But since you bring it up, is that your criteria?
When what has
aired? What Season/episode or preview?
Aired where? When? How long ago? Yesterday? Last week? Last month? Buffy season forums have spoiler bans on episodes a decade old according to the "rules".
But speaking of spoilers...

Holy crap! Anyone see the last episode. I can only imagine the thing wont go off, else pretty much everyones dead. Unless they pull a little of hollywood and make the giant bomb strapped to his chest just a small explosion. Still....a GREAT episode.
Anyway, I think I best stay out of this thread since there is a book with all the answers and people are already hinting at spoilers I dont want to know.
Wasn't that a great spoiler for everyone!?
Did that get flagged? Nope.
What I said
barely qualified as nothing more than speculation... in reality.
For all anyone could determine it was speculation that the now real-life engaged-to-be-married couple might be asked to show more skin together than would be normally be acceptable on an actor/actress' contract because a book said they do.
[Spoiler alert!]
Of course those who have read the books know that the series is staying as close to those as Peter Jackson did with Elves at Helm's Deep, Faramir taking Frodo to Minas Tirith and James Bond having a cell phone in Casino Royale.
Funny that I've quoted 2 overt spoilers from those who don't wish to be spoiled that are far more directly spoilery than anything "hinted at".
Whatever, I'm done.
