The most shocking thing about it to me is how Dahmer got away with doing what he did in an apartment building.

Most of the serial killers at the time were startlingly incompetent or inept, but got away with things because of pure luck of the draw.

The worst example is likely the Zodiac, who was very likely able to escape one incident because of a misidentification, but Bundy’s multiple escapes are also perfect examples.

That's true and I guess in terms of luck of the draw it might seem like cases on that level aren't common but the ones who were caught could have eventually gotten to that level if they weren't stopped.

I started watching A killer's mistake last night on Netflix. It's okay, but nothing particularly gripping, one that's easy yo just watch an episode of.

I haven't seen this, but the title reminds me of the ID show "I (Almost) Got Away With It" which is about criminals who nearly get away with crimes before ultimately getting caught by police. The re-enactments are GOLD. And sometimes it really does hook you, and you forget about the series title in the last minutes, when the criminals get caught by the police! 😂

And I’m getting hooked with how good these mysteries are. AGAIN. 😵‍💫

Like…Cynthia Anderson definitely abandoned her life, right? Or Sam Shepard could have killed Marilyn…Louis LePrince: murdered for his technology by Edison’s thugs? UGH.

@Cohen Buzzfeed Unsolved is a YouTube series. Completely free to watch, and they have 6-7 seasons (each) of both True Crime and Supernatural mysteries. Episodes run about 20+ minutes (after some of the earlier S1 episodes). The hosts have amazing chemistry and are really fun, but also make the material really interesting! Supernatural usually has them doing on-site paranormal investigations, unless it’s stuff like Roanoke or Alien Abductions. True Crime is almost always them in their cool studio going over evidence and the history of the case. 🙂

They also have a few episodes of a “Sports Conspiracies” series that is less “mystery” and more sports history, but it’s also really interesting and funny.

I haven’t seen the new Unsolved Mysteries. I might not like it very much without a host. The Fugitive movie with Harrison Ford was about the murder of Marilyn Sheppard. Sam Sheppard was found Not Guilty in Re-Trial. The killer was left-handed Sam Sheppard was right- handed.

If I remember right, the reason he was acquitted was because of the blood spatter being in line with a left handed individual, right? So cool what forensics can do.

One of the craziest things about Sheppard is what would be the plot of The Fugitive 2. The man was acquitted, then went on to marry the half-sister of the wife of Joseph Gobbels (yes, THAT Gobbels), lost his medical license due to two deaths, and became a wrestler that used the moniker “Killer”. He also remarried a girl WAY younger than him before he kicked the bucket in his late 40s-early 50s. Just insane

I'm all caught up with the Lucy Letby case, and there probably won't be much news on that until the jury decides on if she's guilty or not.
Does anyone know of any podcasts with short episodes, 20-30 minutes preferably, I tend to switch off after about half hour so need short eps so I don't miss details.

I’m waiting for the Kohberger case. It might be a while before his trial happens. I have watched things about the case on YouTube.

I’ve seen so many different shows on Lori Vallow. Since the grandparents alerted the police that the children went missing, I followed every update of the case. So tragic.

Is there anything on her trial? I know she's facing life in prison.
