Twilight's Success=Buffy Feature Film?

When has she refused to talk about Buffy? She has always been pretty open when discussing the show after it ended and how much she loved it.

I saw in an interview once.

hmmm...

*su...suo...suoi....suoic...damn, Adder, can you actually do that? :lmao:

Indeed I can, now, but thats because I am a genius...that or I have watched Mary Poppins too often
Airam is correct.

Error on my part I got Dukes and Starsky and Hutch mixed up.

HOWEVER this doesn't affect my point as I didn't make it about star power🙂

PLUS NOTE people - I can acknowledge when I am wrong, some people who post hereould stand to do the same sometimes!!!!

I'm sure you know, but I of course wasn't trying to discredit you... I just had the misfortune of seeing Dukes so I was confused for a sec wondering if I had remembered it wrong, Starsky and Hutch was legions better, and yes, kudos for acknowleding the mix up...

As for the Buffy movie and its possibility being intertwined with Twilight... I don't know... I've been really hestistant to have anything to do with Twilight, a friend is trying desperately to get me to read the first book but I've yet to budge. Still though I'd hope that the possibility of a Buffy movie getting made wouldn't at all rely on Twilight's success... from what i know Twilight is a guilty pleasure, vampire love story type thing, Buffy is SO much more than that, I don't think they can at all be compared. I hope for a Buffy movie of course, but I'm a realist so I'm not holding my breath. BUT I have said before and hold on my belief that Buffy's fan resonance is really underrated and if a film were to be made I don't think it would do anywhere near as badly as some think it would.

Oh no you don't, your not going to heap all of this on me without at least owning up to what ever point you think does not apply to you, applying to you 😛 ....

We both made this about Star Power. If you'll review with me our discussion we'll be well on our way to sharing this blame of an alternate dimension where Ben is driving the General Lee...

You sad while discussing this wonderful topic that although Dukes of Hazard was a television series made into a movie it was a different thing than a new Buffy movie....up to the point you gave a reason beyond nostalgia being a difference, I would have agreed with you

You said (and here comes what sent me off with the star power ramble): "It was a successful show PLUS had some rather large names in it." also "SMG, God love her is not in the same league as Stiller or even Wilson dollar potential wise"

This led me to believe something that you may not have said but I believe you did mean Mr. Wriggle room; that without the large stars salary -one that trumps Gellars, the Buffy movie might not be made. (otherwise how is what you said a meaningful difference, both would be television to movie)

Furthermore, since the movie would likely be hurt by loosing old fan base by having anyone but Geller as Buffy... studios would be apprehensive about green lighting a production because they are not allowed to spend more money on a gamble that high actor salaries equal more butts in the seats and possible greater return.

If I have misrepresented your point I apologize, i just can't see it....except for what I see it as. I'd appreciate an explanation not blame ::huh1::

Another point where we still fail to have an understanding on my part is the star trek comment. In the discussion I explained that I believe star trek having a movie might have relevance to Buffy getting one as well, both were popular television programs and iconic, When you think Space the Final frontier you think trek....Buffy has the same name association/ relationship with vampire jandras.

I explained my view that when star wars came around it gave the medium an incredibly popular hit and movie production companies would be more open to production of other space related stuff because of that.

You and I argued a bit on that, with me saying that Buffy could do the same thing for the vampire medium with its name recognition and it's already established fan base.

You said: "Star trek was rehashed because star wars was big, granted, but it was the only thing that could be a successful franchise with a growing legion of fans that the studio had in their possession."

To this I disagree with you.

Latter you say something I actually agree with though when you said that I was getting hung up on television shows and forgetting the large influence of novels on Hollywood.

I say apply your own reasoning to your above quote and you'll see that trek was far from the only thing franchise wise to work with.

With the man on the moon in the 60's there was an explosion of Sci fi like Flash Gordon...some of the things that shaped Lucas vision of star wars...the list is really very long. Some where shaped into movies and so was star trek

So I fail to see your point in argument that their is a substantial difference...you cant have it both ways. You can't claim that trek was the only franchise with which the studios had to work with. It was a successfully franchise, however, just like Buffy and that actually favors my side of the argument that suggests producers would not be worried over going ahead with it.

As my grandpa use to tell me "Enough stick, here's some carrots..."

Thats an excellent catch with considering Angel as additional resource material for season length. When i had said that I felt Buffy was closer to sex in the City than the Xfiles I meant it logistically as well as 'gut feeling"

Logic wise, I was considering it a six season series to a seven vs. the xfiles comparison of ten seasons to seven without factoring in Angels addition as a spin off.

Now for a few paragraphs in ( )....somewher my grammar teacher is crying...

(Gut feeling I think of Buffy as a dramedy set in a supernatural setting, X-files a drama set in a somewhat supernatural/scifi setting. And Sex in the city as a dramedy set in a natural setting. To me xfiles and Buffy seem very different.

Settings are not an all powerful driving force, so much as theme. I understand setting can influence theme but Trek and Wars seem very different to me, for example despite the setting of space.

I apologies for going off on a tangent, but i feel this needed stated because Hollywood is trained to look at the script and theme as well, which contain the backdrop. How often did the Xfiles make you laugh?)

I was about to get in debate mode about the whole origins thing, as that is not needed in great detail necessarily in super hero movies and the origins themselves can be simple.

In my head I originally thought, here is your origin...*cue intro* There, done.

But Buffy has become somewhat complicated, you can't even say "in all the world there is but one" anymore. I'm not sure as to where to even begin to cover how to work it all into a script, but simply because I'm too simple to do so does not mean it can't be done. 🙂

I'll have to look into this thread some more in between cases/work, it has grown since I last saw it. Have a good one and load up on them sticks they tend to break often on my thick skull.

Oh no you don't, your not going to heap all of this on me without at least owning up to what ever point you think does not apply to you, applying to you 😛 ....

You have quoted what I said but YOU have misinterpreted it.
You, as I have said again and again, threw Dukes into the pot as a comparison. I argued that It had rather large names attached (Scott, Knoxville and Simpson are still very well known) PLUS it was a hugely successful show. I have ALSO argued that the show was part of a slew of movies based on 70's/80's TV shows given a remake.
Buffy was mildly successful but nothing to really shout from the rooftops. Its viewing figures were adequate and its critical reviews were great BUT Dukes was VERY popular and has an appeal that endured.
Yes as with most TV shows over the years it has been romanticised but that only helped with the movie.
Buffy has not been off the air long enough to be romanticised AND more to the point cast changes would be a complete no go from fans.
Michelle Geller isn't a strong box office draw alone and aside from fans and FEW casuals a Buffy continuation movie would be difficult to make a commercial success.
I have "˜owned' up to the ONLY mistake I have made "“ in fact this is exactly why people don't generally recognise the small mistakes because their detractors take it to mean that one mistake means the whole argument is wrong and theirs is correct "“ HOWEVER I have explained time and again where your mistake was and thus I have nothing else to "˜own up to'. Maybe you should read my entire argument again.

This led me to believe something that you may not have said but I believe you did mean Mr. Wriggle room; that without the large stars salary -one that trumps Gellars, the Buffy movie might not be made. (otherwise how is what you said a meaningful difference, both would be television to movie)

I have never said nor have I even suggested that a Buffy movie would need a large star, so stop trying to suggest that. I find it quite offensive that rather than fight the actual argument you will make your own by changing my meaning just to suit you.
The REASONS that a Buffy movie wouldn't be made are presented time and again in my posts, it is not something I have suggested but what I have actually said.

Furthermore, since the movie would likely be hurt by loosing old fan base by having anyone but Geller as Buffy... studios would be apprehensive about green lighting a production because they are not allowed to spend more money on a gamble that high actor salaries equal more butts in the seats and possible greater return.

Your entire comment here makes no sense. Can a film be made or not?
Sarah seems reluctant, so without her can one be made?
I have argued often in this very thread that Sarah is the ONLY one who can do it and that without her a Buffy movie wouldn't work now. I have given other reasons too.

If I have misrepresented your point I apologize, i just can't see it....except for what I see it as. I'd appreciate an explanation not blame

I have NOT blamed you for anything, that comment in my last statement was actually for the entire board.
If you feel it applies to you, you need to look into that and stop blaming others.

You said: "Star trek was rehashed because star wars was big, granted, but it was the only thing that could be a successful franchise with a growing legion of fans that the studio had in their possession."

To this I disagree with you.

Star Trek again was a different one.
First of all, the studios needed something at short notice to go up against Star Wars. Trek had been gaining momentum since its cancellation including some of its episodes garnering larger viewing figures than first run.
How can you disagree with documented fact?
Fact - the studios wanted to make a Space movie to compete/take advantage of the Star Wars market.
Fact "“ the studio owned it and already had a growing fan base.
Those are highly documented and discussed.
Buffy has only been off the air for 5 years AND in its TV run was complete PLUS it is within a genre that isn't fresh or new.
Star Wars was paving the way forward, it was a new lucrative market in Cinema where as the "˜Vampire' genre has been there now for a decade at least(this cycle). Buffy the movie doesn't bring anything new to the genre nor does it tap into an underused Genre "“ Star Trek did both.

Latter you say something I actually agree with though when you said that I was getting hung up on television shows and forgetting the large influence of novels on Hollywood.

I say apply your own reasoning to your above quote and you'll see that trek was far from the only thing franchise wise to work with.

You seriously need to do some actual research about the Star Trek history. There are plenty of legit documentaries out there that detail everything I have said as fact which strengthens my argument on it being tapped because of its position. Buffy doesn't hold such a position.

With the man on the moon in the 60's there was an explosion of Sci fi like Flash Gordon...some of the things that shaped Lucas vision of star wars...the list is really very long. Some where shaped into movies and so was star trek

Stick is beating you again.
Star Trek was owned by the Studio, they didn't have to pay for the rights.
You need to understand that Star Trek was OWNED by the studios they had a full license to make TV shows with it or movies, other shows they would have had to purchase. The studios wanted to make money and while they wanted to exploit the Star Wars cinema they also didn't want to take too many risks as Star Wars might have been a fluke. Add to that, with contracts of the stars and the show already in their files AND an established cast wishing to do the movie, they also meant they didn't have to spend time sorting out casting issues, solving money issues and thats why Star Trek was made.
Films generally took longer to make back then. The average movie takes 5 to 7 months now where as back in as early as the 80's movies could take up to a year and a half. This is not great turn around when you want to exploit a fickle market so you need to do things as fast as possible.

Your biggest failure is your inability to understand the different times.
See above for the reasons why you are so wrong.

If the movie requires the additions of characters like Angel and Spike, which I don't see the fans being happy without at least one and that goes for the creators too, then you need to factor in Angel the Series because of the character development. Character development is needed for the view to understand what decisions are being made and why they are. If you require this you need to use the entire Buffy/Angel verse which means you count both series thus you have a logistically more equal run of X-Files and Buffy.

I apologies for going off on a tangent, but i feel this needed stated because Hollywood is trained to look at the script and theme as well, which contain the backdrop. How often did the Xfiles make you laugh?)

This is utter bollocks. IF we were arguing Beverley Hills 90210 and Buffy being closer thematically you would have an argument but SatC share few things with it.
X-Files was written to have a couple of jokes per episode and even had entire episodes dedicated to comedy.
Buffy was the same. Buffy was not meant to be a comedy BUT it made you laugh a few times an episode and had comedy ones.
Sex and the City was supposed to be a Comedy Drama, you were supposed to laugh often at it(not that I did) because that is what it was supposed to do.

I was about to get in debate mode about the whole origins thing, as that is not needed in great detail necessarily in super hero movies and the origins themselves can be simple.

In my head I originally thought, here is your origin...*cue intro* There, done.

Exactly, you can't give a very brief intro because the casuals need to know what is going on BUT you can't do an origins story because the fans would feel patronised and even annoyed because it is till fresh. The history is too big to get into a 10 minute film bit.
In 10, 15 years a movie could be done with an Origins and new cast, but for now its not going to get the studio backing it needs because they want the most money possible.

The ONLY way for a Buffy thing to be done is a TVM or a straight to DVD endeavour and the truth of that is the people involved have already said that wouldn't be something they want to pursue and the spin offs have consistently failed to get further than the ideas page.

Thats pretty sad, Adder....Simpson a big name credit...and Knoxsville too? Above Geller? next you'll be claiming P. Hilton is a big draw.

The simple fact of the matter is your rebuttal to the Hazard comment is wrong in both name application and premise, and you have your knickers in a twist over it...you can 'blah blah blah' the whole day long; but you said what you said and I believe you to be wrong on that.

When I mentioned Hazard...which series wise isn't the bee's knees by the way and does not have the global following Buffy does (maybe you need to do some research) I meant it to imply that TV series can be made into movies even changed drastically and its no big deal to the producer as long as there is intrest.

You chose to see the comment as flippant, I saw it as a statement and one that does endure.

You brought this whole $$$ thing up as a factor, not I.

I cant misrepresent your own words in a two word sentence, only you can; and that by the way is not my fault.

On top of it all $$$, did not play a factor in the Dukes movie as you claimed it did; but you chose to ignore the fact you ever mentioned it and are content to let what you said entering the topic rest soley on my head.

I'm not goint to even entertain the notion of the startrek comments rebuttal based off of the pure ridiculousness of it. Fox could market a Buffy as easy as trek's native production company;this is an advantage as it opens up more production companies for a worthy product. Would other companies have wanted to produced trek? Do you really have to ask yourself that?

I'm questioning if this percieved disadvantage that is in actuality an advantage is one though. I figure more production companies that don't have to deal with licensing agreements the better the chances.

Not that long ago I went a few rounds with randy giles were I admitted i was wrong. he taught me that Fox owns the production rights of Buffy and that Fox also has an entirely different movie production company. In honesty is that not how it worked with Trek? same parent different sibeling.

Again is it not the same story?

Truthfully that is not what I believe we were talking about anyway as far as jandra specifications go. We were talking about potential, correct? potential with established fan base? My post still stands if that is indeed the case and you were not misunderstanding me.

I'll never loathe you, adder. 🙂 but this is certainly a WTF moment.

No matter what one says, what is of more releveance is how it is interpreted and how one explain that. Being vague might net you a fall guy but your always on the ass end of discussions that way.

Short of what i allready have agreed with you on, I just don't see how your making sense or 'prove' anything. I'll follow this thread but i don't think i'll participate as much.... too much like beating your head against a wall over a topic that i could give a toss about. Either it will be made or not, and details will leak. but as you've said this discussion has been going off for years concerning additional projects (despite that their has been one...season 8) Simply ny saying you have not seen anything yet does not mean that it won't happen.

For the record i still think your wrong about production interests..but think what you will and I hope they are happy thoughts.

I agree that a Buffy movie could work, but the main difference between it and Trek is the lack of franchising Buffy. Which I lament. :)
Thats pretty sad, Adder....Simpson a big name credit...and Knoxsville too? Above Geller? next you'll be claiming P. Hilton is a big draw.
Hey, I'd go see a Buffy movie if they replaced Gellar with Hilton!

Thats pretty sad, Adder....Simpson a big name credit...and Knoxsville too? Above Geller? next you'll be claiming P. Hilton is a big draw.
You see what you’re doing there? Allowing personal taste influence your argument.
Jessica Simpson is known world wide. She has been in some successful movies has been successful as a singer and starred in a successful MTV show. I am no fan HOWEVER she has some draw. BUT what I said was they were well known – which is fact.
Johnny Knoxville is known world wide. He has been in some vey successful movies and has starred in a very globally successful MTV/Paramount TV show. I don’t actually mind his antics on Jackass but generally I am not a fan thought he has a legion of fans and is a draw. BUT what I said was they were well known – which is fact.
These people along with Sean William Scott are well known but here is the thing, they bring different demographics of a similar age range too.

The simple fact of the matter is your rebuttal to the Hazard comment is wrong in both name application and premise, and you have your knickers in a twist over it...you can 'blah blah blah' the whole day long; but you said what you said and I believe you to be wrong on that.

Actually, explain where I was wrong. You haven’t actually detailed where I was wrong you just keep saying it, where as I have consistently argued my case. You are proving yourself to be quite the poor debater as you use alot of words to actually say nothing.
As for the global following, what a preposterous thing to say. In 30 years time Buffy could hope to have the consistent follow of Dukes of Hazzard. One quick search and clicking on the first article took me to a page with 4,000 members.
There are also international Conventions around the world including but not limiting, Germany, Japan, Canada and Australia.
You are consistently failing to understand the difference though between the shows time period. The fact that Hollywood was at the latter end of a revival of 70’s and 80’s TV shows,

You chose to see the comment as flippant, I saw it as a statement and one that does endure.
You brought this whole $$$ thing up as a factor, not I.
I cant misrepresent your own words in a two word sentence, only you can; and that by the way is not my fault.

So what please tell did play the factor, if the studios were being so kind hearted and decided not to make a film to see a return – I mean yeah, Hollywood constantly makes movies without nary a care for profit.

Fox don’t own the rights to future Buffy things, Paramount did for Star Trek.
Your ignorance of these facts is quite funny actually because you’re trying to argue something you have absolutely no idea about.
When Star Trek was purchased from Roddenberry it was under a 20 contract of ownership. This meant that, at the time Delisu, which later split to Paramount and CBS had the rights to make movies and/or TV shows. Roddenberry was absolutely against Deep Space Nine being made and his estate was against Voyager and films made in that time yet this happened?
Why was this? Because he as creator had sold the rights on to the studio. Do you think that Joss Whedon would allow anything like that? Love or hate the man, he is an astute business man, which is why I don’t believe the Kazuis own anything in the franchise.
You need to bone up on your facts before you argue something because all it does is serve to show how silly you are.

Again, Fox owns the rights what has already been made, not future productions. Joss as a canny business man and creator made sure of that.
The Kuzuis own a portion of the Buffy character but have no say in what is done with it, Joss holds the cards.
If Joss wished to make a movie then it is probable he would go through it with Fox BUT new contracts and agreements would need to be in place, new money would have to be paid and pretty much everything else that is needed for a film.

Truthfully that is not what I believe we were talking about anyway as far as jandra specifications go. We were talking about potential, correct? potential with established fan base? My post still stands if that is indeed the case and you were not misunderstanding me.

WTF does loathing have to do with it. If you want to make it personal, feel free it doesn’t bother me.
Also, what does jandra mean? I’ve read it a few times and don’t understand its context.
There is potential in anything BUT what we are discussing is there enough potential with what we can have.
No because we cannot have an Origins movie that would please the fans and we cannot have a movie without to please the rest of the audience and the simple fact is, the people who pay want to get it to the largest group possible.
10-15 years we could have it but its too soon for right now.

I have never been vague, I have explained constantly my beliefs and why I believe them. You on the other hand have either vagued it up pretty well, don’t have a great command of the English language or are trying to bamboozle people with your comments then adding the occasional ‘A Buffy movie could work’ to try and illicit some kind of backing because this is a Buffy board and everyone on it would probably love something new.
Your argument has been consistently flawed, you have shown you know very little and yes, it has been like beating your head against a brick wall because you have not ever commented on what I have actually said but argued something different because of your lack of understanding.
I too am out of this conversation because there is no point in discussing things with you, you have proven that.

There will be no further response on this thread from me for anyone – my position is completely clear (to those who can understand) so I feel no more need to debate this.

Friend karma...if you agree with me or not I hope you revisit the twilight thread.
Also, what does jandra mean? I’ve read it a few times and don’t understand its context.

Ew, I don't know either, but can I play? I have a guess.

Is it a derivative of the word panjandrum which I believe is kind of like this big shot, or somebody who thinks he's a big shot who likes to put off a public air of being important?

I said my last post was likely the one prior to this one, call me a liar I guess.

Still, i wanted to express something to Black adder. I do not want this to get personal; that remark was not one meant to be derogatory so much as a mend-over.

I did feel like you are blaming me for the whole dollar/ name recognition thing when i did not even introduce it and your prior posts frustrated me. I remember earlier on this thread you said people 'loathed you' and then I commented sometimes i get a WTF moment with you...same as I do with myself, but genuinely like you. It was not an insult at all, just an example of 'friends' failing to come to an understanding, and I do believe friendships are stronger by diversity. There was no attack, if that is how you chose to see it. Most and foremost that needed said.

If I may I'll continue.....allow me to take the idiot out of the I.D. of the mystery word.....leaving you with iot which is probably as much of a word as jandra.

The word is pronounced John-drah, I've heard it expressed as theme, collective, focus..I can't find it in a thesaurus though.

As my dumbassness has now become a game, or at least a question I figured i owed you all at least a hint at the answer.

I'm not sure what exactly how the word is spelled...when I ran spell check on my posts to make my scribble somewhat legible and it could not even identify the word.

I skipped over it, as I figured as i have most of my life, that someone would understand it, sorry to say nerd4hire but I am simply not that smart...I'd never heard of the word you've proposed before. Perhaps that is why i fail at debate, I am willing to give input without knowledge. Still, I am not looking for pity. i find myself a good learning experience and an outside the box (by way of ignorance) approach. call me Anya....and that means I admire myself; so those willing to do so save the pity karma.

I know my role, always have...I'm a cog, not a wheel and I'll be someones stick beating boy if that helps the discussion. I am happy to help. That said, Adder still has failed to convince me of things...and yes i change my positions...I consider it learning. (thats why I personally talk, more so than to try and be 'right' though that don't hurt 🙂 )

Adder, you did bring up dollar amount draws as well as why higher salaries are willing to be paid by production companies...they sometimes equal more butts in the seats. Gellar as the star I'm willing to say without checking, commands a higher salary for a film role as she is an actress, her series was never canceled and people go to musicals to hear people sing, not necessarily movies. Sex sells, but both Gellar and Simpson were models. Noxsville and Simpson are actors, yes, but they do not carry....to my admitted limited knowledge...as much butt in the seat factor as Geller and crew, or at the very least not more.

So in essence i questioned why you said Dukes was different. End of that story.

As far as franchises go...can you imagine a world where people have gotten a taste for a McRib but Mcdonalds did not own the rights? Yes i was ignorant of the ease paramount had due to the franchise license but still the question stands (one which we can't admittedly have an answer.) if paramount would not necessarily be the company producing star trek would star trek not be produced?)

Could Joss not approach another Indy company or grow another temporary mutant enemy? has tech for CGI not approached a more attainable level where lesser studios could make a quality product? In the end, Fox was not the first choice for Lucas producing star wars. I think a wide open playing field would be a strength in that regard. If Star wars was a pilot for paramount on Tv would it ever have been made.

A lesser entity is more willing to provide the legal wriggle room Joss might need. they also might be more willing to gamble if they believe in the product.

production companies are a diverse variable. i just don't see someone...for that matter many ones..not willing to play ball with Joss. Serenity got a movie deal, sex in the city got a movie deal, Xfiles got two movie deals (and when comparing apples to apples success wise i don't think the first Buffy movie, denied all the fan base of the series, is a fair comparison to the first X-files movie. that wasn't based off of nostalgia or big names either one.

just my opinions.

Keller has some fans despite her poor choice in roles. japan is fond of her for her horror titles, scooby doo is a household name arguable even more than Dukes. In short I believe she represents better, weather she does or not who's to say but research- which I'll leave to brighter minds as I'm a cog not a wheel.

I'm not sure if in actuality it is, but i believe Geller and Company would be better draws and combined would draw a higher salary than Dukes trio. My point was that there is no difference short of nostalgia... the price tag and butt in the seat factor is the same to me short of the nostalgia factor of old Dukes fans....and in our society that is a relative thing. I'm nostalgic about early Pearl jam and they are only shortly older than Buffy.

Looks like I lost some of my post, oh well. i said primarely what I wanted to.

The word is pronounced John-drah, I've heard it expressed as theme, collective, focus..I can't find it in a thesaurus though.

That would be a useful thing to have a word for. I was just trying to think of another similar. I can't. Trope, Meme, Zeitgeist. None of them really fit.

I might just reuse that one, and confuse the next person down the line. 🙂

On panjandrum, I realize now that mentioning it almost sounds like I was trying to make some sort of clever insinuation about specific others' personalities. I wasn't, but you know, now that I think about it, there are a couple of old members who if they're ever allowed to return here should consider a name change. 😉

thanks, Shakespear invented words, consider me his less artistic mis-informed distant cousin twice removed. :) seriously, thanks.
If I may I'll continue.....allow me to take the idiot out of the I.D. of the mystery word.....leaving you with iot which is probably as much of a word as jandra.

Is "genre" what you meant, by any chance?

Jeez...that never even occurred to me, but yeah. That works. Of couse it does. Duh to me.
Joss claims he wouldn't return if he couldn't get the same cast...I say B.S. If he was offered money I don't think he would say no. Not for a second. I think he only said that because he doesn't think anyone would ever greenlight a Buffy film, and, by saying that he's pleasing a big faction of the fanbase.

As for Sarah...well, her career kind of sucks. Right now she has a pilot for a show at HBO, but it's not like it's guaranteed that it will be picked up.

Personally if there's a Buffy film I'd sort of want it to be a retelling of the origin story, so a new cast would be fine with me.

If it were a continuation it just wouldn't jive visually, if you know what a mean. Because of the budget, the show had a sort of cheap, TV look, and a movie would look so extremely different, with probably much cooler demons and effects...which isn't a bad thing, but I just know for some weird reason it would weird me out.

Either way a movie would be cool though.

Oooohhh that would be awesome. I'm glad they're developing that as a show, I hope ABC picks it up.

Maybe HBO will hurry up and pass on her pilot and she'll be cast? Unlikely but I can hope.

I think it would be wise for all actors to get involved with this rumoured project.
There were things left unsaid with both Tv shows and a movie could allow things to be answered.
Buffy & Angel were epic.
And a movie would just be fanfckingorgasmic.
