Agree completely!
Mr Giles agrees: Big universe does not mean the likelihood is approximately 0. Thats based on nothing comparable.
No, it's based on research of scientists. I didn't come up with this, of course, but I think it's pretty reasonable.
A planet has to circle its sun with a certain distance between the sun and itself, so there can be life forms similar to those we have on earth.
When you think about the billions and billions of sonar systems, the probability of this to happen is not too low.
Even the UFO sightings, we have experts for that too. Experts in many fields: pilots, the air force, astronomies, scientists, technology and all kinds of human flying objects (plains I mean) experts, who saw in many cases unknown flying objects (UFOs), whether it was by eye (like many pilots, who often see those things and get shushed), or in the radar on the ground, by photographs, by videos or by stories... those experts couldn't come up with any known human flying object, nothing that looked like anything we (and they, the experts) know and recognize, or it has abilities that our technology doesn't have. Those people know about plains and stuff, and what they see they couldn't recognize as something from earth. Simply because it's not possible.
Saying those statements (UFOs coming to earth, the universe mysteries, etc.) are based on nothing is simply not true.
Well, there could be that kind of civilization, of course. But I don't know if the necessary technology can ever be developed. (That question had to answer some qualified scientist)
I also don't think that the human race is still around in a million years. I read or heard that in some thousand years or something, the humans will probably have become extinct or they maybe will have regressed to... well, cave men.
Right, not necessarily. It's seems like magic to us. Things we think aren't possible. Though those civilizations might have found the right formula. Many things we thought weren't possible, we did them! The man of thousands of years ago wouldn't have believed building such thing as a computer is possible. It would seem like magic to him (or more possibly, gods' tool). So you never know what other civilization discovered. Even to me, who's not a scientist, I can't grasp the fact that building a computer is possible and how they could pull it off. But there are people who know and do.
There's also the possibility that other planets have materials that we on earth don't have or know of.
I couldn't agree more about us not here anymore in a million years. So many civilizations have been wiped out from earth, some we don't even know about yet, and for so many reasons.
Personally, I think our civilization of today will be destroyed by itself. With everything that's going on in the world, we're near self destruction. That's not a fairytale story, it's very possible. I almost see no chance of us still being here in a million years.
Aside from that, I don't know what other intelligent life forms would want from us. For recourses they should rather travel to a different and bigger planet that earth.
Who knows. There are many theories. Including them seeing us as we see bacterias, like we see in a dish, because we're so primitive, and they're trying to figure us out, just like we do to smaller and primitive forms than us.
There's also the theory of them putting us here (which is a much longere story than I'm gonna write here, because there are many theories for that too) and they're checking in on us once in a while, for good or for bad. We don't even know if their intentions are good or evil.
And about bigger planets than earth for resources, bigger planets or closer plantes don't mean better or more resources, the resources they actually need. Who don't know what they need. There's even a theory about them needing gold (again, this theory is based on things people discovered), maybe we're the only planet in our galaxy that has gold.
I guess those are things we won't get to find out. I don't think we're gonna live that long to find out. And I'm not even sure I wanna know those stuff, or live at the era when humans do find out.
