My first discussion post, yay! I blame these musings on the late hour, but I've been thinking about this and wanted to hear what you all have to say about it. What characters in Buffy and/or Angel would you have liked to see further interaction and friendship between? Or even just to have met! This probably won't be a surprise at this point, but I know I personally would have loved to see more interaction between Spike and Tara. I adored the sass she gave him a few times and could've seen them becoming oddly good friends if Tara had been around longer (alas, this is the foundation of all my Buffy dreams haha).

But they're not the only ones! I think Gunn meeting Xander at some point could've been interesting...both being the sort of "normal" ones in the group. What do you all think? Who would you have liked to get to know each other a bit more or at all?

Fun question!

Buffy and Cordy: I've pretended they were BFF's on multiple occasions. 🙂 I've always wished we would have seen more of a friendship between them.

Angel and Oz: They seemed at ease around each other so I like to think that they would have gotten along as friends quite well.

Buffy and Faith: There was so much potential there...if only they could have trusted each other enough to talk and confide in one another.

More Angel and Oz moments would have been awesome
Spike and Dawn, wish they had explored that more in season 6.

Cordelia and Fred, the two girls in Angel but they didn't have that much time together

ITA about Cordy and Fred. It would have been sweet to see them have more girl time.
I would've liked more Spike & Anya. They seemed like natural drinking buddies.
Gunn and Faith could've been a hot couple (but actually, him and Gwen had real potential too)
More Giles and Ethan would have been cool.
Xander and Andrew would have made good geek buddies. I can really see them bonding over Star Wars and comic books 🙂

Anya and Tara! We only have one scene with only the two of them! And well, obviously Tara and Buffy! And Tara and Giles! Just more Tara 😀

Definitely more Tara friendships. Tara/Spike would have been fantastic and I wish there had been more Tara/Buffy. I loved the scenes that they had together.

I would have liked to see Gwen form some friendships as well. It would have been great if Gwen became a series regular and became friends with Gunn. Or Lorne. Would have been great!

Dawn and Spike in Season 7. They were such good friends in Seasons 5 & 6. then "Seeing Red" seemed to have completely destroyed that, and, as far as we know, there was never any reconciliation after Dawn found out about his soul. I hate that we were left with Dawn/s burning bed threat as the last conversation that they would have.

Buffy and Faith in Season 7. I really wanted them to rebuild and expand on their early friendship.

Spike and Faith. Any season. They could have been fantastic together.

Definitely Tara and everyone else. I feel like Tara was only close with Willow. The rest of the Scoobies didn't really interact with her much, except for Dawn... I wish she got more screen time.

AtS/BtVS character crossovers, in essence. Imagine the Scooby Gang meeting the new and improved Wesley and Cordelia. Dawn and Connor bonding over annoyingness (I kid, I kid).

I WOULD HAVE LOVED THIS
Definitely Faith & Angel. That would be my main one. The dialogue between them at times (When Angel visits Faith in prison etc) it feels as though they have known each other for years and it's more of a catch up. I would have liked to have seen more moments between them, even if it was over the phone talks etc.

I wanted more interaction between Giles and Anya. They worked together, yet we rarely see any scenes with just them. At the end of Season 6 she seemed to be very attached to him, but we never really got that "strong friendship" vibe from them so much. I'd have liked to see more.

Also Faith and Spike. Not necessarily romantically, but just running around together causing chaos.

And speaking of chaos...more Ethan would've been fun, too. It would've been great to get a bit more of the backstory with him and Giles.

And also more Giles/Joyce...but that's just the shipper in me talking. 😉

But hey, while we're talking ships...how about more Jenny, too? There wasn't quite enough of her with Giles. Or without Giles. *sniff* She could've had so much character development and been so awesome.

Yeah more Ethan would have been awesome!
Anya and Tara-they seemed to get along really well.

Tara with anyone really. 🙂

Anya and Giles.

Giles and Joyce and not for shiiping purposes. it would have been good to see the two adult influences in Buffy's life interact more often. Especially once Joyce knew about the whole Slayer thing.

Gwen and Faith...again not just to see two hot fetish-wear clad women together, but because they are both tortured souls and it would have given them both the female bonding experience they needed.

Gunn and Cordelia After the whole 'I'm going to make sure you are OK' speech, Cordy never really made sure he was OK. I would have liked to see that explored further.

Groo and Angel because there's nothing like seeing two actors with absolutely no chemistry at all on screen together 🙂

Spike and Dawn - I loved the little glimpses we got of it in S5 and the first couple of episodes of S6 and would love to have seen more, with it developing into an older-brother type relationship.

Spike and Giles: the little bit we saw of them together in S4 was comedy gold, would have loved to have seen more.

Actually, Spike interacting with any character is great...

So true! :D

Oh, so much agreeing with this!

I really would've loved an Odd Couple-esque spinoff with them living together. It would've been hilarious. They could call it The Bickering Brits. 😛

"One is a vampire, the other one really loves his books!
One puts Wheetabix in his blood, the other gives dirty looks!"

That's obviously a very rough draft of the theme song. heh.

Love it!
Spike and Darla, I've always wanted to see them be friends and interact more

Connor and Buffy would have been extremely interesting, I always wanted to see Buffy's reaction to the development of Connor.

And those are the big ones.

I always loved Buffy and Tara's friendship. Besides Willow, Buffy was really the only one in the main cast that Tara ever got close to or interacted with on a regular basis - and even then their friendship was still way in the background. Tara was always very comforting and trustworthy around Buffy and I wish they could have had an episode that really developed it. I loved Tara's emerging confidence around Buffy and others, especially in "Older and Far Away."

Angel and Oz always seemed like they could have been friends. They were both more reserved than the rest of the Scoobies but never spent a ton of time together.

The big one for me is Buffy and Faith. It's not that they have a lack of screen time together because obviously that isn't true, but I would have liked more Faith in general over the course of either series, but particularly on Buffy. Just them being friends for longer would have been cool to see (and of course, Fuffy always exists in my head!).

If they'd had more crossover, seeing Dawn and Connor could have been hilarious, even if it was just for a scene or two. Watching Connor trying to hit on her (which you just know he would) and get flat out turned down would have been awesome.
