♦ Dawn is one of my favorites characters. I don't understand the hate she generates.
♦ I like Kennedy ! I think she has a great potential for evolution (as much as Faith or Cordelia at their beggining).
♦ Even if I'm not a huge fan of his character, I like Riley (and I totally loved him and Sam on his own one-shot in the season 8 comics).
♦ I'm not a huge fan of
Hush. Don't get me wrong, he deserves all the compliments he had, but I never succeed to be that much enthousiastic concerning this episode.
♦ I don't know if it's an unpopular opinion or not on this forum, but season 6 is undoubtedly my favorite
🙂 I know that a lot of fans reproached the fact that it was too dark, but I really loved it and the way they explored the characters and their inner demons.
♦ I don't like Angel in BTVS (I tend to be indifferent). I grew to appreciate him in his own show.
♦ I love Cordelia/Angel, their friendship as much as their romantic relationship.
♦
Damage is my favorite ATS episode, and I really loved Dana's character.
♦ I really, really would have love to see a Spike/Willow friendship. Too bad that it never happened.
♦ I don't like the Spike/Drusilla relationship. I don't really see love for being honest. To me, it was more an attachment that Spike romanticized. I understand their popularity, the concept of an infernal couple was attractive, but it didn't work for me.
♦ This is more divide than unpopular in the fandom, but I think the B/A relationship has to remain a first love and I don't share the wish of some fans of their relationship who want more. And even if I didn't like it, I found interesting the idealization factor in the last seasons, because I thought it was a realistic element, a lot of girls go through that kind of things. They're attached to the idea of being in love like they were by the past, without realizing that they're not the same persons anymore. I don't think their relationship would work, not because of external elements, but simply because of who they are.
♦ Even if I'm not really a fan of their relationship, I think Buffy loved Riley. Maybe not in an intense way, but she loved him. That said, I think I wouldn't be against a friendship between them years after season 5 (it depends of the way they would write it).
♦ I think Buffy began to fall in love with Spike in season 6, but that her depression didn't help and make her react more violently. Season 7 wasn't the creation of her feelings, I think it was more a better (emotional) context for exploring and making her pre-existing feelings deeper and more built.
♦ That's a controversial point, but I loved the Buffy/Spike relationship in season 6. So, so much. It was complex and interesting, exactly because Buffy had feelings for him. I don't believe in the "it was just sex" argument, because in my opinion, their relationship wouldn't have been what it was in season 7 if it had been only physical between them in season 6. There was continuity between those two seasons. Season 6 was the season of their mistakes, and their relationship was the catalyst of what was wrong in their lives at this point. But it doesn't mean that there was a lack of feelings, a lot of elements show the contrary. That was fascinating.
Here, I loved how
elisi put it : “
Here’s another thing: the issues in this relationship are inherent. They’ve always been there; they always will. When it works in Season 7, it works for the same reasons it doesn’t work in Season 6. Their dependency on one another is as much a strength in Season 7 as it is a weakness for much of Season 6. It’s about the way they deal with the issues, not the issues themselves.”
♦ I really love the Dawn & Xander relationship in the comics.
♦ As a Spuffy fan, I like "Something Blue", but it's not one of my favorites Spuffy episodes (I have the feeling that this episode is highly appreciated by the Spuffy fans, or maybe that's just a wrong impression). This episode is funny, but the fact that they're under the influence of a spell don't make it work for me (in my appreciation of the Spuffy relationship I mean ^^).
♦ I love Xander's character. I've noticed sometimes a lot of Xander's hate, and I know that there is some people who don't like him because of some of his attitudes. I agree that some of his choices and attitudes are questionable, but that's what makes him a realistic character. I may disagree with some of his actions, but it doesn't affect my appreciation of his character. Nobody's perfect.
