I've liked Dawn from the beginning.

I've loved Connor from the beginning! I also think he's really good-looking. :giggle:

I understand, accept and appreciate the relationships that happened in both BtVS and Angel. This doesn't necessarily mean that I "ship" all of them, I just understand why each of them happened (i.e. Buffy and Parker's relationship; she had to experience that. Darla's storyline on Angel was beautiful, but I don't necessarily want Angel and Darla as a couple).

I like Riley, and I don't quite understand all the hatred towards him. Yes, I cried when he left, but again, that doesn't necessarily mean I "ship" Buffy and Riley.

While I do think that Willow recovered too quickly from Tara, I don't object to Kennedy.

I don't think that Buffy has ever irritated me or caused me to dislike her. I sympathize with her too much (in the supportive/understanding/compassionate/identifying with kind of way; not the feel pity for kind of way).

By the end of season seven, I think that Buffy and Xander have come to a stage where they're like siblings. In Restless, Buffy even calls him "big brother" (correct me if I'm wrong on this). I could never believe it if Buffy developed romantic feelings for Xander.

I have a soft spot for Xander and Willow as a couple in my heart. :embarrassed:

I like season four, and I like the idea of Jasmine (yes, she was the Big Bad because she would've taken away people's free will, but it really made you put things into perspective). However, if Cordelia had actually been herself, I would've absolutely hated the season.

I know who I'd want Buffy to be with, but I won't say it on the Boards (..yet). :wink2:

I started watching BtVS for many reasons that are not including vampires. I never find vampires sexy or anything(Sue me!). I'm tired of my friends thinking I like vampires and asking if I like Twilight. I told them "I don't love vampires. I love Slayers." and they went WTF on me. 😀

That's Xander's subconscious telling him that Buffy sees him as a brother, it doesn't necessarily mean that she does. And obviously, Xander doesn't see her as a sister.

I respect your opinion. I was just pointing out that Buffy never said that Xander was her brother. 🙂

Oh okay, I apologize. I misunderstood your response. :embarrassed:

I guess I interpreted that part in "Restless" as a foreshadowing for their relationship. But everyone has their own opinion. :happy:

I am too. By the time the show ended, I felt like I was part of their group... which made it even more devistating.

I have seen every episode of Buffy dozens of times, except one. I have NEVER seen the episode in season 7 where Xander loses his eye. I refuse to. For some reason, my VCR didn't work the night it premiered, so I didnt catch it. And even though I have all the seasons on DVD, I have still not watched it. Never will.

I like the Buffy/Riley relationship better than the Angel/Buffy. Don't get me wrong... Angel and Buffy are a classic couple, and their whole relationship is wonderful. But I thought the Buffy Riley one was far more realistic and well-executed.

I love the Initiative. Season Four is a classic.

I don't think Buffy ever met the right guy for her. The closest moment to that for me was the scene near the end of season 7 when Spike stay with her that night.

1) I love S4 BtVS!

2) S7 is the best Spuffy season, can't say the same about the other characters and what hurt at that time was that it's considered the last season. Thank God it isn't.

3) I'm desperately, passionately, totally in love with S8. I'm so happy to see my favorite characters' stories continuing. S8 gives me a far more satisfying closure to Xander's character than S7, which didn't even try to.

4) Tabula Rasa is so overrated.

5) I love Where the Wild Things Are.

6) I love Riley.

7) I love Dawn. And she makes a wonderful sarcastic character in S8.

8) Once More with Feeling was great on first viewing but when you get tired of the songs, you discover that the plot is stupid.

9) I prefer Xander and Willow's high school relationships more than their adult relationships. I guess because as seasons progressed, Xander and Willow's love life was sidelined so more focus can be placed on Buffy's love life.

10)The Buffy/Xander friendship is the most interesting friendship between a guy and a girl on both shows.

I like Dawn.

I don't hate Conner pre season 5. I have sympathy for the guy. Sure he do stupid things but considering the life he's had...

I don't mind Killow one bit. My least favourite Willow relationship but that doesn't make it bad.

I like the idea of Dark Willow but don't have much love for the character. It's Willow of vamp Willow for me.

Admittedly I haven't come further than to the end of "Predators and prey" but I like the comics. The things I've been (willingly) spoilered about doesn't change that opinion. And even if some things have upset people I want to see how things play out before passing judgement.

Season 4 of Angel isn't bad at all.

Season 6 of Buffy is one of my favourites.

I don't see much wrong with the potentials. Storywise it's just sad that due to lack of time we didn't get as much focus on the cour four as desired.


And something that really is just a confession.

Some of the discussions on this board have made me change my mind about some characters. Seeing different point of views isn't wrong (it's a good thing) but I need to watch the shows again to really be sure about my feelings. Because truth be told it's the way people sometimes argue their point that make me seeing a character or ship a certain way and not the point itself. And always in a bad way. And that's obviously not how it should be.

I agree here. Placing characters on pedestals or completely trashing a character isn't good. You have to take a step back and understand both sides.

Take for example Batman (as a non-Buffy example).
Sure, hero. A "good guy". Idol to to masses.
This character is also slightly insane from grief. Ignoring that fact is misunderstanding the character. He is somewhat paranoid (he has developed ways to take down Superman, and has dirt on all his hero buddies), has deep emotional issues; he even scares some heroes quite badly.
This is who the character is. He's a scary dude.
He actively cultivates that image to strike fear.
See what I mean?

Personally, I liked him better in the serials where he shot the bad guys. None of this non-violent take them to Arkham so they can escape a week later crap. This guy has declared war. He's not the beat cop rounding up drunks. He's the zealot who has few (if any) boundaries. And the villains? Oh, it's only Batman, he doesn't kill, so where safe.

Skipping all this to just make him squeaky clean, idol guy is missing the point of the character.

Now apply that to Buffy characters. Romanticizing them is missing out on who these characters are. Completely demonizing them is just as bad. You have to see the whole package.

So, yes, I agree with your point.
For Buffy, this is indeed an unpopular approach.

Buffy season 3's main plot was very thin and made little sense.

The First wasn't nearly as bad as they made it out to be.

The way Lyndsey returned in Angel was stupid.

The Powers That Be was a weak and uninspired plot device.

Vampyre is the correct spelling and pronunciation of the word.

I found Xander's speech to Dawn in Potential to be annoying. And I didn't think that Amanda should've been an SIT.

I can never like Faith after Who Are You because I think having sex in Buffy's body counts as rape.

I think something was missing from Angel Investigations and Fred completed the group.

I felt bad for Warren in Villains.

I hate Illyria, I thought she was probably the worst character they had in Angel, even worse than Connor.

Fresley was crap. Fred and Gunn were so much better together.

Th scene at the end of Five by Five when Faith tearfully begs Angel to kill her is just hilarious. Imo the acting is so bad that my only reaction to it is to laugh.

I get everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but I don't understand this. Andy Hallet had a beautiful voice. I'm not into any of the music he sang on AtS, but I always enjoyed listening to him sing.

I don't like Willow's romantic relationships. I felt like she didn't really understand Oz and part of the reason she was with him was that he was the first guy interested in her and he was a guitarist. I thought Tara was way better than her since she used magick to erase her memory and it was obvious they had completely different world views (resurrection, the cosmic balance, the Wiccan rede). Kennedy didn't even know anything about Willow pre-S7 (she thought EvilWillow was cool!) and it seemed the main reason they were together was that they were the only two lesbians.

I thought that Tara should not have forgiven Willow and gotten back together with her. She erased her memory even AFTER she told her that it was violating and really hurt after what Glory did to her. Willow didn't learn the error of her ways. She just gave up magick. I don't think she looked at why the things she did with magick were wrong.

I loved Anya in Older & Faraway.

The way they dealt with most of the "ancient prophecies" were pretty stupid and poorly written. The way they simply accept all the prophecies is so counter intuitive to both how the characters should have acted and the logical purpose of the prophecies themselves. They never consider the reason why someone would want to write a prophecy. A prophecy is meant to tell people to either welcome an event or try to prevent it or prepare against it. Prophets don't just write things down for its own sake, they write for an audience. If I was a good guy and I saw a vision of some evil apocalypse taking place in the future then I would write down a prophecy for other good guys to read so they can prevent that evil apocalypse. On the other hand, if I was a bad guy and had a vision of the same evil apocalypse then I would obviously write down a prophecy for other bad guys to read so they can make the evil apocalypse happen. They never even considered that in the show, all the prophecies are just simple plot devices to move events along, often times at the cost of a character's reasoning ability.
