US Elections

Four reasons I don't like the present POTUS.

Eisenhower's alternative message for D-Day: “The troops, the air and the Navy did all that bravery and devotion to duty could do...If any blame or fault attaches to this attempt, it is mine alone.”
Harry.S.Truman: "The buck stops here"/ "It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit".
JFK: “Ask not what your country can do for you – ask what you can do for your country,”
D.Trump: “I don’t take responsibility at all.” / "Fake News!"

Look, the guy could cure every disease on the planet, stop world hunger, and have Jesus Christ as his spokesperson...yet, some people would STILL find an obscure reason to criticise him.

Nah...in all likelihood, we'd mistake him for Barack Obama.

It's just funny how quickly people forget or never even heard of all of Obama's bad moments:
Making fun of developmentally disabled kids.
Making fun of previous First Ladies.
His trying to change the presidential seal.
His attacking small town American for not "getting over" the mass exodus of jobs.
His stealing speeches from other congressmen and using them as his own.
Claiming (falsely) that his campaign had nothing to do with the Clinton attack video.

And that's just a few within the first months of being elected or on the campaign trail, and those are only on the popularity aspect.
Don't even get me started on the Affordable Healthcare Act and how that royally screwed over individuals and businesses alike.

Ah, yes. Obama, the People's Puppet. Under President Puppet, illegals were given driver's licenses, credit cards, and healthcare. (It was thought that if they had licenses, they wouldn't flee traffic accidents. WRONG!!)

I'm surprised he had time to do even that; he spent so much time in Beverly Hills, (at swank celebrity fundraisers) it was laughable. Its Tuesday. Obama must be in Beverly Hills.

So you could say that about any President . Being the President means you take the Bad with the Good & so far he not doing good at that.

Remember to not turn this into a We Hate Trump fanclub, I know that there's not a lot going on with the elections right now, but still.

What's the point of independents? Do those people get elected at local levels?

What's important about independents is the voters, as they are the "swing" voters that are a desirable group to get voting for you, since the Republicans and Democrats are generally entrenched on their own side.

I believe that they are a lot more swing voters out there than anyone realizes...

If he did that, curing diseases and stopping world hunger would be considered 'racist' by Tumblr SJW's 😂

Perhaps "obscure" is the wrong word. Let's try petty. Yes, that's much better. 😊

He's a serial rapist and well-known racist. A reputation that he's had long before he ran for President. His reputation as a racist dates back to the 1970's when he was sued for discriminating against black families from renting in his apartment buildings and then of course his actions in the 1990's in regards to the Central Park 5. And how many women have accused him over the decades of sexual assault? His own wife accused him of violently raping her and tearing chunks of her hair out. He's boasted himself about sexually assaulting women when he didn't realise he was being taped. So there's really nothing "petty" about people disliking him.

That aside, he's also a compulsive liar, an extreme narcissist, juvenile, incapable of empathy, a hypocrite, a repeated adulterer who slept with a porn star whilst his wife was pregnant, he's made grotesque comments about his own daughter's sex appeal, he was found guilty of running a scheme with Trump "University", his sons were found guilty of exploiting charity, he's surrounded himself with convicted criminals, he has had a reputation for years for not paying his contractors and leaving them out to dry, he ran a presidential campaign based on division and hate, and he is frankly as dumb as a bag of rocks.

It's perfectly reasonable for people to dislike him.

Thank you for saying everything I wanted to say, and saying it more succinctly than I would have!

Smart girl. You're very observant. And those swing voters seem to keep a low profile. 😈 They'll soon burst forth, annihilating the hopes and dreams of those who thought that Joe Biden actually had a chance at defeating Trump. 😂

The White House: "The President has put an end to world hunger and deadly diseases."

SJWs: "We must protest! Those are racist acts!"

It's absolutely reasonable for people to dislike him. I dislike him as a person. He is not the person I would have chosen for president. But, at the same time, and surprisingly, he has done a good job at the actual job of being president. And the intense hate of the person so much as to deny reality is not a good thing for anyone. Our government wasting time, money and the confidence of the people just for a power grab.

Unfortunately, we elected good people into the presidency (the Bush's), and they got jeered for it. And then we had the Brett Kavanaugh debacle - what good person is going to sign up to have their life destroyed after that? We're reaping what we've sowed.

But it's also hypocritical when the Democratic leadership and the media act like Trump is some terrible person, while ignoring their own lying and corruption. Calling people evil and racist and nazis because they don't agree. That's not being a good leader. You can't call out Trump for discrimination and then give Hillary Clinton a pass for "marriage is only between a man and a woman". Or gloss over pay to play, or her actions helping sexual predators. Or the corruption in the Clinton Foundation. Or the congressmen who lied about Russia and impeachment. Or say Trump was riling up protesters to the lockdowns, and forget Obama inciting race riots. Or go back to Adam Schiff intentionally lying about Mitt Romney when he said he hadn't paid his taxes in ten years, and when he was interviewed after the election about knowingly lying about it, Schiff said, "Well, he didn't get elected, did he?"

We can certainly vote or not vote for people because of how we see them as people. But this idea that someone is automatically a good person because it says "Democrat" on their voter id card and automatically evil and a racist because it says "Republican" on theirs is just not right and it's leading us to more polarization. Our government leaders now vote with their party instead of their brains, so people are forced to choose candidates by their party rather than who would do the best job. And I have no idea how we get back to people doing what's right for their constituents rather than for themselves other than to vote people out. Which I don't think the average person cares enough to do.

I agree, and also the country is more moderate than our officials realize. If the Democrats put out a true moderate candidate, they would have a much better chance of winning the election (same as for the last one). But we saw the Democratic party and Hilary Clinton herself submarine the most reasonable candidate in the field, because she wouldn't play ball.
