Totally agree. He has the emotional scenes down! The end of episode one didn't break me until I saw Stefan's face. And when he listens outside the door when Elena is trying to comfort Jenna? *sob*
I guess its very hard to judge someone's acting on one scene but I think if you've watched the whole show you can't deny that Paul's acting has massively improved. He's really showing how diverse he can be and I think he'll give Somerhalder a run for his money this season in his "new" role 😉
It's easy to draw comparisons between shows of a similar genre - I see it all the time as a fan of teen dramas but I just like what I like and try and appreciate the ways in which TVD is very different and refreshing and not focus on the way it adheres to conventions.
