Vampires Not Eating Food

Can vampires actually eat food or do they just choose not to? Been something that's been bothering me.

In the Buffy universe, they can because (and that is only and example from the top of my head) I remember Spike asking Buffy to get him Buffalo wings in S5 when they were in The Bronze (I think it was in Crush)

Vampires can eat regular food in the Buffyverse, but they apparently can't take any nourishment from it. It would probably be like us eating sawdust or dirt. Other than Spike, though, and Angel on only a couple of times, I can't remember any of them doing so.

Yes, they can. Spike enjoys buffalo wings and onion...flower things. They don't need to eat to survive though, and they can't really taste food.
