Damned, I'm happy this thread exists. Right now, I really need to write down my anger.
In Angel, in the episode I've got you under my skin, there is a boy who has absolutely no humanity, no compassion, no sympathy for anyone.
Well, I've known someone like that.
Her name is Adeline. I've met her a few years ago. She seemed at first very nice and we became quite good friends. My mum even invited her to go with us to Portugal, if she paid like 100 euros (we're not very rich).
The trip was in 5 months but I thought we'd still be friend.
But she started showing her real face.
She started saying very mean stuffs to me, "just for the laugh". And she got meaner and meaner. But it really takes a lot to make me dislike you, so I was like "Whatever, we are friends, I'm not going to stop talking to her because she is sometimes bitchy."
One day, her twin fell in the street and broke her hip (nobody ever knew how she could break her hip by falling. I mean, it was something pretty serious, she stayed at hospital for months before she could finally walk. With...What's the word? Walking sticks? And she had to walk with those for a lot of time too. It took her about 2 years to be able to walk normally, without any help.)
So. The twin breaks her hip.
One day, my friend Isabel (she's a real friend, we are still good friends now after 5 years and several big and small arguments. The kind of friendship that lasts.) tells me she's been noticing something, but she wasn't sure if she was a monster or something to even think that. She told me: "You know, when Adeline was talking to the teacher because she didn't made her homework, and the teacher said she had no excuse? Adeline tried to convince the teacher with stupid excuses. And then, because the teacher still didn't accept her excuses, she started crying, saying that it's because her sister broke her hip and she was quite shaken up. But...why didn't she say that first? It felt like she was using her sister's accident as an ultimate excuse. And it's awful that I even think that!"
I guess my friend Isabel understood way before me what A. was.
After she told me that, I started wondering "Did she really use her sister?". The question quickly turned into "Is she using me?".
She told me once that she always lurked on my copy during test. And she was sometimes asking me, just like that "So, what did you write in the redaction we must write for tommorrow?". At the beginning, I was always talking about my papers, but then, I started saying "I didn't write it yet!". And she became being even less nice with me. And with the others.
Then, we had this big year work to do in group. There was Isabel, her and me. It was a big work, who asked a lot of time, energy, and imagination. It began in the begin of the year for the end of the year.
Problem was...she wasn't doing anything. At all. I had another small work to do with her. Is that even necessary to say I did the whole work?
Anyway, the big work started to be a source of tension, because Isabel and I were working hard on it, and she wasn't doing anything.
Then A. decided she wouldn't talk to Isabel anymore, because she was "boring and stupid".
She also told me things like "Oh, I have an excuse for my decreasing grades, my sister is in the hospital". And she laughed. It was disgusting.
Things were really becoming tense, but I stood at Isabel's side, because she had been my friend for a longer time, and she was always there for me, even after fights.
Then, it was finally THE trip in Portugal.
Her mother was a person who could trust, and had even less money than we had. That's why my mum proposed to pay only 100 euros.
A. gave my mum an envelop. There were 50 euros in it. We thought "Well, we are not going to ask for the 50 euros missing, it's okay."
But, as we were shopping in Portugal, we noticed A. had like a lot of money. Like a real lot. Counting all the things she bought, and the money she still had, she had something like 200 euros with her. My mum had told her mum that we would pay the food and everything, so she would only need money for shopping.
My mum thinks A. stole the money in her mum's envelop (which was open when given to my mum).
And during the whole trip, she stayed in her bubble, hardly talking to us.
We came back to Belgium, and I was more and more close to losing it.
A few weeks after the trip, I had to leave an afternoon. A friday. On monday, I see my friends, without Adeline, and they seem all embarassed. I ask "What's going ooooon?"
And they explain to me the things Adeline said about me when I wasn't there. Apparently, she had said "Marion can be so boring sometimes! And she's way bigger than me, so it's normal she's the one who always takes the books!" (we had to take books in class for us and the neighbour. It's supposed to be one who bring them once, the other the other time...but she was always "forgetting" them.
It shocked me not only because she said I was fat, but also because I was leaving very far from school, it took me about 1 hour to get there, 1 hour to come back. About 20 minutes for her.
So, I said "Thank you for telling me, I'm glad to see that at least you guys are honest." and I said to one of my friend "Since you've been so honest, I think you deserve to know she said you were clothed like a big slut :/"
And then, there was THE fight. One of the only times in my life I screamed on someone.
Remember the big work we had to do? Well, she still was doing nothing. So we talked to her, and she started her big drama: "You don't understand, my sister is in the hospital!" I replied "Indeed. But you were already not working when she wasn't in the hospital yet."
Then she said that we couldn't make the difference between work and friendship. I replied "I do. I'm not your friend. I just ask you to work more for that damned project."
And she said to Isabel and me: "Well, I don't want to have anything to do with you!"
After that, I was pretty much done with her.
There was another teen drama in the gang the year after, on Halloween. Because a friend was making a big party (with us only) at her home, as usual. She didn't want to invite A., but she wanted to invite the twin and the twin best friend. And she felt like she couldn't invite them without inviting A.
As I didn't want to have to see her bitch face outside school, I said clearly: "I'm sorry, if she comes, I don't come. It's already painful enough to see her at school, I'm not going to see her during my frigging holidays."
I quickly understood that if I didn't come, it was just a person that didn't come. If A. didn't come, it was three people that didn't come. So I said "We are gonna make it easy. I don't come. Period. I'll go to the sea, Halloween season is always great there".
Everybody was shocked by my decision, but I thought it was the right thing to do. Then, the girl that was organising the party just invited other people, and none of us. Everybody said it was my fault if we didn't celebrate Halloween. What? My fault? It wasn't in my house, it wasn't me who organised it or changed the invitation and yet, I'm the only one to blame?
So, I was friend with someone who used me to make friends, to increase her grades, for many other stuff, who used her own twin as an excuse for everything.
And now, I organised a big birthday party for everyone because we were all born in june-july-august-september and...guess who invited herself?
That's right, her.
And I hate that people tell me to calm down.
I hoped I would never see her, ever again, since we are going to different schools now. And yet, she keeps coming back.
I'm really pissed because in the group, no one likes her, no one wants to see her, no one misses her, everybody has been hurt a bit/a lot because of her and yet, nobody dares telling her to fudge off.
And I'm the bad guy when I say "Fine. If she invites herself everytime we see all the gang, well I don't see all the gang togheter anymore."
I always manage to see good sides in people I don't like or who hurt me, but there, I just see a shell emptied of humanity that keeps climbing on my rock.
I'm sorry for this long post but I really, really, needed to vent about it 😡
