This is one of my favorite things I've seen posted on this board.

Haha totally get you! I used to live in a rough area and one Saturday morning on my way to work I saw a guy off his head on drugs take down his pants and do a poo. Charming. Right on the footpath in front of me. Needless to say, I crossed the road.

These are some of the things I've seen. I'll spoiler-tag it so it can be skipped. Except for one, which I saw outside my window, these are all things I've seen while outside with the dogs:

-Late night dog walk on the main road, I see a guy across the street sleeping on his skateboard. He's got his backpack as a pillow for the board. This wasn't against a building, or in an alley, this was near a shopping mall right there on the sidewalk. If it were day time he would've looked like he was getting a tan.

-Afternoon walking a path that surrounds a large field, a woman stumbles out of the bushes and tries to pull her own pants down behind a tree but keeps falling over. Her mouth is bloody. By complete coincidence, an off-duty police officer, driving with his family saw the same woman while he was on the road and drove down to help out. Eventually an ambulance was called and the woman was referred to as a "repeat customer". The woman refused the ambulance because she didn't want to be taken advantage of, only she put it a bit more dirty than that.

-One Friday night I'm sitting in the living room when I hear laughing outside. I look out the window and see four girls walking by. One of them stops, goes behind some parked cars, pulls her pants down and takes a piss. She then runs back to the others to catch up to them.

-One afternoon I'm walking behind a plaza of stores where there's a parking lot and long stretch of grass. One of the parked cars has a man sitting in it with his head back. A woman's head bobs up and down...

-This past Saturday night, another late-night dog walk. I'm outside my apartment building and begin walking down the path to the main road when I hear something. It's windy, it's cold, but being Saturday I figure something's going on. Something was indeed going on....I turn around and see something on the grass next to the building around the corner of one of the side door exits. Movement. It looked like it might have been a cat - there's always a black cat running around in that same place but this wasn't it. It stood up. It was a man. He got back down on the ground and continued what he was doing....up and down, up and down. On top of a woman. Right outside my f**king apartment building.

I circled around the building and came back and when I reached the lobby they were inside laying down on the floor. I got upstairs and called police on them.

Far out! You've seen just as many crazy things as me! Woohoo for living in crazy places!
Wow. Quite a story.

My vent? Netflix/my crappy internet connection/my friend losing my season 2... I have to struggle to watch Buffy until I get to season 3, where I have all my dvds...

M
msfantastico87
that's why i never lend my Buffy stuff to anyone lol
I can't use Netflix, and even if I could they don't have a big selection in Canada yet. I made sure to put every single episode of Buffy on my PS3, and I'm doing the same with ANGEL now.

As for what I said above, I suppose one lesson to be learned is if you have dogs, let them walk themselves. Of course that won't actually work...

How do you put them all on your ps3? You can pm me about it, but I have a ps3...
NL...dude, you need to move! 😉

I know this is a vent thread, but some of this stuff is funny, you guys are making my day! 🙂

We had parent/teacher conferences tonight, I just got home, and I am exhausted!! We have another 4 hours of conferences tomorrow night, plus a Cub Scout meeting I have to lead (don't ask me how I got roped into being a den leader!). Ugh!

Funny you say that - the first two things I mentioned (skateboard guy and beat-up woman) were before I moved to a different end of the city!
Okay. This is a vent thread so I don't want people feeling sorry for me or telling me I'm being an emo. I just want to get it all out somewhere.

I miss being young 🙁 I've just been looking at a whole pile of pictures from when I was 17-19 and I was so pretty and skinny and young and happy and fresh. (I probably should have used some commas there but hey? what ya gunna do?)

I just feel so fat and ugly these days and nights out with friends never seem to be the same. I just feel like I never have any energy and I'm really sick of getting older and older every year. I wish I could go back to being 16 again and just enjoy it all over again.

I don't want to feel fat and ugly anymore 🙁

Once again, this isn't a post that is me screaming for attention. Just had a need to get it all out there! 🙂 I'm a happy person generally!

Try taking some vitamin b12. It's natural, comes in delicious lozenges, and it gives me energy. Best part? You don't get a sugar crash.

Cait I don't think you could ever be ugly and so on. :) I know what you mean I am not even old yet and I keep saying I wish I was 16. Don't let it get you down though.

Emo?

I'm guessing a lot of people feel this way as time passes.

I don't feel pity for people, and I don't accept it either. Some people can't see the difference between pity and being genuine. I think it's all in the replies - the "don't worry things will turn out okay" kinds of replies are usually pity, while being able to relate and understand because a person's been there, gets it more. I don't know if that makes sense. I haven't seen much pity here, instead I see a lot of understanding, and that's a good thing.

Cait, you're a year older than I am. Personally, I think I looked a lot better when I was 17, but I also looked so damn young! I love how I look now. In 5 years, I've grown a lot. (Not height wise, that needed to stop 3 inches ago... I hate being tall. I hit my head a lot.) My facial structure has changed, and my hips look a lot better on my frame now. I looked young and fresh-faced, but I hadn't grown into my body yet. I was stuck between girl and woman. Not stuck anymore.

My vent? I go to open my phone today, (it's a slider) and I slide the top up, and it goes sailing across the room. Now I have two pieces of a phone, neither of which work. So after Mom gets back from borrowing my car (she likes it because it's newer than hers, but I can't drive stick, so I can't drive hers) I get to go to Verizon and complain until I get a new phone for free. It'd better be the same phone, or at least close because this is NOT my fault, it's a manufacturer defect. But now I have no phone numbers... I feel naked without my phone. I don't have a house phone, and my significant other doesn't have a cell phone, we share one. So neither of us have a phone, and my phone has my GPS on it, and I get lost a lot, and I'm getting way too upset over this.

That sucks! I couldn't live without my phone! (using it to write this as it happens!)
Note to self: STOP MAKING PLANS!

To quote Xander: I get my hopes all up, and then it's just a big fat raspberry, and I feel bad.

I mean, I had so much awesome stuff I wanted to do for October because of Halloween. I never really get to do anything on the actual date every year so I got extra excited for all this stuff but instead, I get screwed over! I got screwed out of Zombie Walk, I got double screwed out of the Halloween parade, and now I'm getting screwed out of the Atlanta Zombie Apocalypse.

I would feel so much better if I just had my own job and a car; I could go wherever I wanted without having to count on anyone, but unfortunately, I can't get either of those right now because I'm trying to focus on getting my GED.

asdfghjkl; 🙁

EDIT: Wow, I actually really do need to stop making plans. 😛 Just realized a good portion of my vents in this thread have to do with them falling through...

S

Grrr...argh ;) I have a car and stuff like still happens to me. So annoying.
Sigh.....ok I really hate bring my family into any of my vents, but I have no one else to tell this to that's willing to listen anymore and I really need to let it out.

I'm really sick. Like really. I need to get surgery and everything, but I'm not going to get into that right now. Being sick these past two weeks has shown me just how alone I am. I am 22. Pay all of my own bills, including the $4000 a month I have to pay towards medical bills. I'm usually left with nothing. Anyhoo, I feel like I am getting weaker and weaker, and I may be getting hospitalized soon. I don't want this to happen because I hate feeling that way.

My sisters always tell me to try and contact my dad and have him help me with my medical bills and all that. They just don't understand that I can't. See, my dad lives like 45 minutes to an hour away from me. However, I haven't spoken to him in 6 years. Why? Because I am gay. I moved in with him when I was 16 and I came out to him when I was 17. He pretended to be ok with it, but then his wife found out and he kicked me out of the house saying that he wasn't going to allow any daughter of his to be a homo. I then had to find my own apartment and I've been on my own ever since.

I got better, health wise, until just recently, and now everything is coming back. All I wish is that my daddy, the same daddy that loved and cared for me when I was 7 years old, would come and hold me, and tell me everything is going to be ok.My greatest fear is dying without him telling me he loves me for being me. 🙁
..........

Back to being my regular self 😀 I will NOT let this get me down more than I already am.

God i don't know how you cope, that is terrible. I feel so bad for you, one day your dad WILL realise that he made the biggest mistake ever in his life doing that to you :(*hugs*
^^ I'll never understand that bulls*it mentality, of parents rejecting their children like that.

On one hand, it would be a great thing for you two will one day reconcile and he'll learn to accept you for who you are, but on the other hand I want to say he can...well...rhymes with truck himself.

I'm studying social work year 1 (our of 3 and a half). In the program it is a practical part, were people who has studied 2 years work with social problems at a real workplace one semester. This week we 1 year students are visiting the student that are working. I got so annoyed with one thing during one of our visits today:

I live in a suburb in gothenburg that has a bad repuation. Today we visited a work place that was in this suburb. A lot of poor people and people with social problems live here (because of the cheap rent among other things. People with foreign sounding names can also have trouble to find apartments in other parts of town), like many immigrants who haven't been intigrated well in the society and therefore are having problems finding jobs for example. This has led to that the suburb has gotten labeled as "a dangerous place to live". A lot of people with social problems do live here, and we have a little higher crime rate here (with emphasis on A LITTLE. This is usually a really nice and quite area, even though the place is a little worn down because it's not a lot of resources that are being put here), but I think you have to think further than that and realise WHY stuff happen here. It's not because the people who live here are bad people and the area it self attracts badness, it's because if people are poor and have social problems of course that's going to be shown in them acting out. If you have a desperate situation you are more likely to do desperate stuff.

Anyway, today when we met with the 2 year student who were going to take care of us for the day she said "So... how does it feel to be in the most dangerous suburb in town?" and laughed. I got so sad by this. When you're studying social work you should have a little more understanding for the problem than that, specially if you work there. It really doesn't help that people keep talking about this place like dangerous, that will only lead to it will be even more stigmatized and eventually increase the racism that has allready been growing in Sweden this last couple of years. And noone ever talks about that the most dangerous place in all of Gothenburg is a really posh area were a lot of bars are and a lot of people are at night/weekends. And that's because all of the rich, white people live there. And they're not considered dangerous.

I hate my sister. Not in a "you-know-how-sister-fight-all-the-time kind of way". I really just hate her.

It's always the same, she's never there for my mum or myself and we always have to be there for her. We always do concessions, she doesn't do a single one.
She is so rutheless.
You know, three women leaving home between 6am and 7.30 am and one bathroom, it can be like super tricky. My sister has a new job. I used to use the bathroom at 6.40 and she would take it at 6.15. And then, she has her frigging new job and just states "I'll take the bathroom at 6.40". So, I have to take the bathroom at 6.15 and being exhausted and way too early, or take the bathroom after her and oh! Be late for school! Monday I was sick, and I heard that she stayed in the bathroom from 6.45 to 7.20, which leaves me no time because she took precisely the hours I usually take. So I kindly ask her to take the bathroom at 6.50 and she says "No, why would I do that?" and I say "Uh, because you took my scedule without even asking if it was okay and you only let me the choice to be way too late or way too early?". She said "So what?". And then my mum said "Come on, is that going to kill you to take the bathroom 10 minutes later?" and she said yes. So my mum asked for an effort of 5 minutes and she replied "Maybe" like it was something real hard.

I'm just fed up. She is so selfish!
I'm only crap to her! I'm here when we are both home and there is a problem with the flush thing in the lavatory (I don't know what's the word). I'm here when mum screams at us sometimes and my sister calls me when I'm with friends to ask why was mum cranky. I'm here when no ones wishes her a happy birthday and I'm the gal who makes a frigging cake for her. I'm here when she needs help with the computer and the like. I'm here when she's so paranoiac that she askes me to stay in the entrance while she just goes checking on her car. I was there when I was younger and she sent me to help my father, who has multiple sclerosis because she wouldn't want to go help him herself. I am always there, always.
But whenever I need her for the same kind of things, she just tells me to piss off.
I'm tired of giving all the time and never receiving a single thing back, not even the respect she owes me because I'm her fudging sister.
I know I shouldn't get that upset for a bathroom story, but it just too much, I'm tired of her never having any kind of consideration for me or my mum!
Yeah because my mum is in the same situation, she is ALWAYS there for my sister, and my sister just don't give it back to her.
I'd rather have a sister like Buffy or Dawn who annoys me but actually cares about me than being total crap to my so-called sister.
And last day, my mum talked about it to my sister, who replied "You never do a single effort for me!". My mum said "Yeah, you're right, we do nothing for you. It was nothing yesterday when I went to the bakkery because you need bread and I didn't any but you didn't want to go there. It's nothing that we move our ass so much for you, you're right."

DAMMIT!

*HUGS* I'm so sorry... IT sucks when you have problems with a sibling. :(
I hate having a part-time job. Granted, I like the extra money, but I hate when they call me in on my days off and ask me in. And of course, I say yes. I need to learn to say no more often to these people.

I'll have done 8 hours more than I was supposed to by the end of Friday, because I can't say no when they ask. I need the money. :/
The landlord just came to the door asking to come in, it's not like I can say no. But the house is far from presentable for him to come in. I'm the only one who does housework and I'm not that great at it. But I'd finally got it looking much better. I was so flustered cause I could tell he was not happy with how it looked that I forgot to tell him the shower faucet was broken. Which is the reason he came in, he was looking for leaks. Now of course I'm freaking out that he's going to kick us out.

You should have told him no. My prime excuse is usually that my housemate is incredibly sick.

It's weird. I have a job, but I don't. I mean, it's a nice gig. I only work 3 days a week, but I make about $600/mo, plus I can work extra to get more money. But I don't like to look at it as work. I'm a caregiver to my Gramma when my mom can't do it. It's a job, for sure, because it's something I don't really want to do. I love my Gramma. But lifting a 126 lb dead weight is really rough.

I'm a caregiver to my mother. No pay though. It's more of a supervision / domestic thing.
This sucks. I'm in an awesome kickarse party mood and I'm stuck in my stupid office 🙁

All I wanna do is put on some Reel Big Fish 'have myself a beer' and dance around the house like a crazy person with some good friends.

Can someone make this happen for me?
