I dont know if im alone here but I feel that bringing dawn into the show might have been a really bad idea. I do beleive that Michelle played the part very well and that bringing dawn into the show set up some very very good episodes and arcs, however.
1. I feel that it forced Buffy to grow up too quickly and i really liked the young, vibrant, witty and innocent buffy but after the invlusion of Dawn I seem to view Buffy in a different light.
2. It completely changes everything that was done before it. We find out that Dawn was buffy's sister all along and the gang remember Dawn being there as well. So when i think back to earlier seasons i end up thinking about dawn. Like in Ted, how would have Dawn played a part in that episode? How would have she reacted to buffy running away from home ?
And yet no one in the gang knows what it would have been like without Dawn, even though the fans do. Its quite confusing.

You're not alone there, kiddo. It WAS a bad idea. Consistently.

I've wondered about how Dawn would be in "Ted" also.
