Was Faith As Good As She Claims?

SOME ego can be a turn on in bed... if it's backed up...

if you've got a huge ego about your 'mad skilz' but can't perform when it comes down to it... well...

Saying that, there's probably a lot to be said for Slayer Stamina, flexibility and dexterity lol

I feel silly even debating this because really, how the Hell could any of us know? But for the shiggles, I'll throw in my 2 cents.

If there is one thing that I am absolutely certain about Faith is that she is an incredibly sexy and sensual person. The woman was built for sex. However, that doesn't necessarily make her universally "good" at it.

As well as that, I think Wood's words have to be taken with a pinch of salt simply because of the calibre of men that Faith had been with before him.

There was Xander: a virgin, who obviously didn't know much about anything and relied on Faith for guidance.

And then there is the list she have Buffy:

Ronnie, deadbeat. Steve, klepto. Kenny... drummer. Eventually, I
just had to face up to my destiny as a loser magnet. Now it's strictly
get some, get gone.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume the type of guys that Faith had been with before were hardly the most experienced, considerate or interested of lovers. I'm assuming they were looking for a quick frak, just like her. And while that certainly scratches an itch, it can hardly be considered truly fulfilling sexual experiences. Much less "knock em sock em".

While I agree that sex is sex, I would also argue that there are levels of intimacy that really dictate the quality of any sexual encounter. To me, Faith seems to operate in an almost sex-by-numbers kind of deal. She knows what buttons she has to press to get the desired reaction. And she can do that really well. But that is only one level.

I think the reason why Wood said Faith had a lot to learn is because the sex was faceless and without intimacy. I bet Faith gave Wood all her best moves that have worked on all the morons (sorry Xander) before him but Wood was a different kettle of fish. He was smooth, charming and gorgeous. It was clear from his later actions that he did not view sex with Faith as a one time deal. He was looking for a connection. For intimacy. Something which, I think has evaded Faith her entire life and if she actually experienced sexual intimacy, on say the level that Buffy/Angel, Willow/Oz, or Willow/Tara experienced, it would make her mind implode.

and Wood karma because he doesn't get much love on the forums
I have absolutely nothing productive to contribute so I'll just make two pointless points.

-ED is heartbreakingly sexy.

-This thread is a dream. We should start one up for every female on Buffy and I will be one happy little fangirl!

Well, I would, but it might get me kicked off the boards eventually!
Xander's comment about the experience was that "it was kind of a blur." In other words, it happened rather quickly.

Faith, not being the emotionally intimate type, probably just puts in enough work to achieve that moment of release she is looking for. Ahem. And then once that is done she kicks the guy out of bed (a la Xander). Wham, Bam, thank you man. That is probably what Wood was referring to when he said she had a lot to learn.

Having said that, I am sure the 5 minutes or so it takes Faith to do her thing is probably quite a rush. You have a girl who is at least 5x as strong as a man, and who has extreme stamina and dexterity to boot. I am sure it is intense. In fact, one wonders exactly how average men survive sex with slayers.

In my experience, people who have to brag about how great they are probably aren't very good at all. I'm sure Faith was good, but not nearly as good as she claimed to be. I always loved that Wood busted her chops like that. LOL

I'll try to keep this PG-rated....

I had a girlfriend as pretty as Faith. I have also been with my soul mate (we were together for 15+ years). Sex is not just an act, it is a connection, and as pretty the "Faith-like" girl was (and she was a sweetie, she didn't have Faith's personality), being with my soul mate was infinitely better.

I'm sure she's great in the sack, but without a connection, what's the point?
