What are you reading? - Volume Two

Gonna start reading Bare Bones by Kathy Reichs. The show Bones (with David Boreanaz) is somewhat based on Kathy. And the main character in the books got the same name as the lead character in the show. And if I got my facts straight the main character in the books that are written in the show is called Kathy Reichs. Not like it matter but for geeks like me it's a bit of fun knowledge. I'm sure the books aren't that similar to the show but it'll still be interesting to read.
 
I'm reading The Blind Side by Michael Lewis. It's pretty good so far - there's a lot more football in it than I expected so that's good.

I just started The Boy in the Stripped Pyjamas. I haven't read enough to say whether it is good or not but pretty much everyone I know who has read it says it is brilliant.
 
I'm reading The God Delusion, sort of again, since I forgot where I was when I stopped reading it. I'm always doing that.
 
Currently re-reading "The Hobbit" (a nice hardcover edition with illustrations by Alan Lee).

Also, the "Spike Omnibus" comics collection. (Finally reading "Shadow Puppets" for the first time). And I'm finishing up a fantasy novel called "The Skewed Throne" by Joshua Palmatier.
 
I recently started reading Nikki Stafford's BTVS Guide called "Bite Me". My girlfriend got it for me in October and I finally got around to cracking the spine. So far I really like the way its written; it provides plenty of facts without being too stuffy. I haven't read a whole lot of it yet, but it seems to have a general history of the show, bio sections for eleven cast members, a list of trivia, an episode guide and even some stuff about Season 8 (which is, of course, at the end of the book! I'll have to keep speed reading to get there! :silly🙂

Anyway, I'm enjoying it so far. I'll definitely have to report back to you guys when I'm finished.

I like that book, and all of Nikki's others! She has ones for Angel, Lost, Alias, and Xena too!
Buddenbrooks by Thomas Mann.

Maybe it's because I haven't touched a German book in ages, but I find it pretty hard to read. It's over a hundred years old and describes the life of a wealthy family in the 19th century, so it uses some weird language. Sometimes the characters speak French without translating it.
Well, I'll try to fight my way through the book.
 
I've been half-way through both Slaughterhouse Five and The Gunslinger for ages now. They're my boyfriend's books but I never find time to finish them!

Got a LOT of books/comics I'm slogging through...

Comics-wise...the graphic novel Soul Stealer: Blood and Rain by Michael Easton. Definitely NOT for the kids, but the art is unique and top-notch-and the writing is cool, too.(This is the second of a trilogy; get the first one, simply titled Soul Stealer, if you can.)

Books: Got about 4 recently...currently working my way through The Wrestlecrap Book of Lists. (You get three guesses what THAT's related to...😉 ) Also on the list: Tom Fenton's Bad News(more of a critique on how the news media is failing to serve the people) and Gwynne Dyer's Climate Wars(basically, what the change in our climate could do to us years, if not decades, down the road).
 
I just finished reading Frankie Boyle's My Shit Life So Far, which I got for Christmas. It's quite funny. 🙂
