I'm reading Geisha of Gion by Mineko Iwasaki. I've been interested in the Geisha culture for a long time and enjoyed Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden and someone pointed me to this book for a first person perspective. It's a very interesting, good read even though - or because? - it uses quite simple language.
 
Reading Stephen King goes to the movies and in order to chill out a bit The Beautiful and the Damned by F.Scott Fitzgerald... New york in the 20's.

damn.. you read like REAL books! I am a bit disappointed
I started the southern vampire series, only a tad through the first book Dead Until Dark (and i finished the book i was embarrassed about, will continue that series sometime soon)
 
I'm reading The Firebrand by Marion Zimmer Bradley. I really like her work and it's an interesting take on the story of Troy, but I'm so unmotivated to read it right now. Been on it for two weeks now and I'm still only halfway through.
 
"Dream and Reality. History of a Differentiation" (yes, I read weird textbooks for fun... and I hope to finish it tonight so I can return it to the libe tomorrow morning, should have checked stuff back in on Tue. *sheepish* )

I really need to read next weeks tv paper, i think the Bo Selecta! Michael Jackson special is on.

One of the last swedes to read The girl with the dragon tattoo by Stieg Larsson. It's the first of a trilogy (intended to be more but the author died) and the one that has gotten the worst reviews of the three. Still it has done pretty well for itself. 😉 Since worst in this case by no means mean bad. The second movie based on the books premiers today.

Have yet to read any of Stieg Larsson's books... so there's still a few of us left ;)
In lack of new books at home I just decided to read Lord of the Rings again.
Have already read it many times but it's probably 10 years since last so I thought I would give it another go.

At the moment, I'm reading "Understanding Jurisprudence" by Raymond Wacks and "Criminal Law" by...er...someone. Riveting.

Yeah, it's that time of year again. *sigh*

You'd better read Criminal Law attentively because there's a twist in the story near the end...
I'm reading A Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemingway, and Persuasion by Jane Austen. Both for school, but I couldn't be happier because I love these books.

Then I have about 9 more to read in the next couple months.
 
I'm reading Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman by Haruki Murakami. I like the way the stories are written, the way they don't really end, how you find yourself thinking about what could happen next, once you finished reading it. In about 20 years, I hope I'll be able to read some of them in their original version cuz they have to be even more amazing in Japanese... 🙄
 
HP - and the Deathly Hallows, although I normally wait for the films decided that I couldn't wait after seeing HBP, about half way through and it is looking pretty bleak so far...
 
I'm reading Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. It's the sequel to The Hunger Games by her. Really intense 🙂
 
The Blind Assassin by Margaret Attwood (on and off) and rereading (make that swotting) Fan Cultures by Matt Hills, just in case in some terrible twist of fate I end up with him as my external examiner at my viva.....
