Question What are you reading?

After recommendations from the Swedish contingent some time ago, I pre-ordered The Circle by Sara B Elfgren and Mats Strandberg and am just waiting for it to arrive.

In the middle of reading Fallen in Love By Lauren Kate.

I'm in the middle of reading some other books too. But when it's a library e-book and I only get so much time with the book, I have to stop the book I'm reading and read the library e-book one.

Right now, the main book I'm working through is Out of My League by Dirk Hayhurst. This is a continuation of his story from The Bullpen Gospels, detailing his adventures as a pitcher in minor league baseball while having to deal with a screwed-up family. This book shows Dirk finally realizing his dream of making the majors, which opens up all new challenges(and how he deals with it through his relationship with his GF...then fiancee...and now wife Bonnie). Less ha-ha and more serious than TBG, it still has its funny moments.

Just finished Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. I didn't really enjoy it. I wish the darker bits that were hinted at were explored more. Plus, the plot twists/reveals were very predictable.

Anyway, I'm going to start on Looking for Alaska now.

I just got my life back, I finished "Mockingjay" the third novel in the Hunger Games series, and it's the first time in days I can think about something else than Katniss and her friends 🙂

So now I'll dive into it with Game of thrones again, "A storm of swords", should be gripping but not steal my mind away like Suzanne Collins' did 😀

Finished Looking For Alaska, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I'm going to start Fire and Hemlock by Diana Wynne Jones.

Just started The Vampire Diaries: The Hunters: Phantom. For the moment it's mostly Stelena (which bores me to death) but I hope it'll be at least half as good as the original books, even if it's written by a "ghost writer"...

Currently going through the Queen & Country series by Greg Rucka. Not sure if I'll read the novels but the comics are really good! <3 Greg Rucka.

Queen & Country is awesome. But then again, Greg Rucka could write a grocery list and I'd be captivated.
Got seriously bored with the latest TVD book (seriously, they're acting e ven more childish than Bella and Edward.....)

So I decided to switch to The Help by Kathryn Stockett. I figured that if the movie won an oscar and the book won the first reader's choice in Elle Magazine, it must be good 🙂

Just finished 'The Circle' a few days back. It was awesome. Read it. Seriously. Just bummed that I have to wait until march for the second in the series.

I am currently reading 'Vampire Shift' by Tim O'Rourke, the first in the Kiera Hudson series about a young police woman stationed in a remote village in the south west of England where a series of strange murders are carried out by things that go bump in the night. It's a fairly short book at 151 pages and was only 72p on the Kindle store, but so far I am thoroughly enjoying it and recommend it for a quick, cheap read if you have a Kindle.

I have so much on my reading list this summer it's crazy (so many books so little time) but I'm making my way through "A steel of snow pt2" by G.R.R. Martin, "The apocrypha NRSV", "God against the gods; the war between monotheism and polytheism" (fairly easy read but at times confusing as it kind of jumps back and forth in time a bit willy-nilly...) and now I just added to my reading list a book about one of my favorite historical families "The Borgias", they're just deliciously and scandalously evil... fascinating folk simply.

And if I finish these don't worry - there's more out there I'm eager to sink my teeth into - lol, like "The Circle" mentioned above... hm, do you think maybe I have a problem? 😉

I just finished a biography on Eric Bischoff called "Controversy creates cash", which was a really interesting read. Now I'm just starting "Clash of Kings", the sequel to Game of Thrones (I loved the show so I've been reading the book like crazy). I can't wait to get into it.

Reading the 1980s book ''Mining the Sky'' at the moment , it's pretty well thought out, and with the Billionaire James Cameron recently declaring that he is financially backing the mining company 'Planetary Resources inc'. it may not be such a pie in the sky idea after all.

The book is about the idea of mining the near earth asteroids, and thus the possibilty of increasing the standard of living of every man woman and child on earth to dizzying heights, it just might come about.

I reccommend it to everyone, really helps you to think outside the box.

Finished The Help yesterday night. Definitively one of the best books I read. I'm going to see what they have in stock at the library later, but I might try and see if they have A Midsummer Night's Dream.

Well, since they don't have any Shakespeare book at the library except an anthology (only parts of his work), I had to give up for now. I'll get it at the big library when I go back to school in October.

Instead, I piked up George Orwell's 1984. Figured I had to read it at least once in my life.
