New Amsterdam s5 Who writes this crap? Its hilariously bad. Thats my only excuse for watching 5 seasons of it. At least my kitchen is clean now and dinner is cooking, early for once. Not even I want to sit down in front of it for long.

Batman and Robin will always be a guilty pleasure for Arnie's cheesy one liners!
Got a shudder subscription because of the ridiculously low price and great content offering. Watched their…exclusive? Oddity, the 2024 Irish horror film.

Genuinely frightening. Chekhov’s Gun, but if “gun” meant “disturbing wooden mannequin”. Also creepy ghost photography and a freaky masked killer for good measure.

The show definitely runs out of steam as it goes along.

Eventually everything degenerates into, "That conspiracy we uncovered last season turned out to be a bigger conspiracy" and nothing ever feels satisfying. The characters and the monster of the week episodes are fantastic but the overall mythology of the show and the individual season arcs never stood up to basic scrutiny.

True but there’s still a lot of great episodes to come. Dreamland from S6 is one of the best of the whole show

I think it fails to meet the expectations of the build up.

Like those early mythology episodes are fantastic and really interesting. One of the best episodes in the early seasons is that multi-parter that leads Scully and Mulder into some mines that have medical records squirreled away in them.

But then you get to the second half of the series and the big reveals are like “so….THATS it? That is what the setup was for???”

The one offs are always better though. I think it’s just the complete lack of continuity restrictions that make them interesting and so much more creative.
